All family rooms have carpet, it smells and doesn’t look clean. It was so disappointing for us, they were understandable and refunded our money and we changed place. The staff were kind, helpful and understood our request.

Hotel is perfectly located. You're fast everywhere. Room small and bathroom even smaller. Bathroom door cannot be locked. And when it's closed you really have to pull to get it open. Furthermore, it is very noisy and employees are busy in the hallway very early. Breakfast is real English and the employees are super friendly.

Pro: Excellent location. Super access to all forms of transportation, many cafes, restaurants and shopping near by. Rooms were clean. Great price but you get what you paid for. Con: We had two rooms for 5 days, each only serviced/cleaned one time. Twice the house keeping staff said they were sorry they just ran out of time. Twice we ran out of toilet paper. Once I took it from a housekeeping cart myself the second time it took the front desk 40 minutes to bring one up. Smoking section is right in front of the hotel. It will be the first thing you smell when you approach or leave. Rooms are very warm, but the windows crack open which helps. The room that faces the street is noisy so if this a problem for you ask the front desk for a different location. Door paneling (lipstick on a pig) on the room door is peeling off. Budget mattresses, not the best or worse. It’s a very transactional hotel, if saving $ is your big thing this hotel works, for us, we will spend the extra money to stay elsewhere.

I have just left that hotel and it is the worst hotel and you disappointed the one I have been to in my life, I have never had to leave an accommodation like I had to do with this one, when we arrived they gave us the room and on the way the hallways smelled very bad, once we got to the room it was all dirty, dust everywhere, bad smell inside it, we had to ask for towels because they didn't change them, my brother had an asthma attack due to the dust and dirt that was there We had to stop for emergencies until we decided to leave the hotel before the day of departure, it is generally horrible, my experience is disappointing, I do not recommend it…. It has only two good things, the location to visit London and Iván, a security man who helped me make all the arrangements because not even the reception manager knew how to speak Spanish, only English, the situation there is disappointing…….

This hotel is a factory and handles a lot of people. The big downside comes from the noise and the almost non-existent soundproofing. Between the street, the interior courtyard and the terrace of the London Pub, the slamming of the doors because of the sliding arms and the people talking loudly in the corridors, it quickly becomes hell. However, the rooms are spacious and clean. The mattresses are quite soft, so it's okay or not. The breakfast buffet is OK. Thanks to PRAVALIKA for its efficiency and professionalism. Finally, the hotel is very well located and quite close to Saint Pancras and Euston stations, and to metro and bus lines. Finally, the only negative point remains the noise.

This is the worst hotel I’ve stayed in London. Been to London for more than 5 times, by far this is the worst hotel. Somemore it’s my family’s first time to London. Asked us to come back to hotel at 2pm to check in but after more than 20 minutes wait at the queue the staff told us the room is not ready?? That the housekeeper not clean the room yet. That’s ridiculous. And the 20 minutes queue, we’ve been waiting at the line that was served by a new staff and the customer before us have some card problem or something and it takes like forever. Other customer that came after us have already gotten their room key and left and we are still there waiting. The system should change. You should put only one queue line like bank, so that first come first serve instead of like us waiting for more than 20 minutes and in the end told us the room is not ready. That’s absurd. But the staff (can’t remember her name, I think it’s Mir or something) she is very attentive and quick to solve problem. She knows we are very frustrated and quickly gave us a room. We are very thankful for that. But otherwise, no, this hotel is not worth to stay. It’s just the location where it is near to St Pancras station.

Very conveniently location, rooms are nice and clean. It's a very big hotel with many rooms (quite impressive) but sound insulation isn't great. Windows don't block much sound of the outside and it can get rowdy at times. There also doesn't seem to be any air con/heating so I suspect it would get quite hot and stuffy in the summer 🤔. The weather was cool during our visit so it was fine, but if you chose to open the windows to let in some air them it'll be quite noisy. So probably not the best choice if you like a quiet environment to stay.. my friend stayed in the 2 bed room first before we moved to a 3 bed room. The 3 bed room was much larger than the 2. But the location is great, close to the British Museum and a nice walk to multiple tube stations.

Great hotel, near to the main places. From the hotel room, a great view of the common London streets. Love it! Hotel as a whole was a bit confusing, though, because of the other hotel that was connected to Royal National H. Got lost several times. Also, the rooms were great for three people. The bathroom was okay, though, no lock on the door. In the room there also was a bit of a suspicious door that you could open. It went through to another room. Kind of socialized with knocks with the people staying in the room next to us because they kept knocking at the suspicious door.

Had to explain three times to new staff what I had agreed with reception manager Haider.. eventually I was late to a concert due to this taking a lot of time... We were a school group and they accommodated us all on one floor, although not in consecutive rooms. The check in process was a bit convoluted and disorganised, but we got there in the end. The rooms were clean and modern, although all single beds - comfortable though. The bathroom was lovely. It was unbearably hot in late June, so the provided desktop fan helped, as did cracking the windows the few centimetres that were possible. Street noise wasn’t bad on the 7th floor. Thankfully I was able to sleep with no bed covers (the bottom sheet didn’t quite make it to the end of the bed though!) We had a 1am fire alarm on our first night, which was a total nightmare, and aside from not communicating with us at all about it afterwards, it was well handled by the staff. There were literally thousands of guests evacuated in the middle of the night (and predictably, many just milled around in the stairwells with no survival instincts! My advice is to check your closest stairwell when you arrive. There were 6 or so on each floor, but most people used only the one near the lifts.) They were able to store luggage for us on our last day, but you need to allow plenty of time to drop off and collect. Each took us about 20 minutes. Location is fantastic.

Stayed 3 nights for a business trip. Very busy hotel. Reception was polite, and I was able to check in at 11am. Some concierge staff were unfriendly. When I left my luggage, one staff member ignored me, but another helped. Another time, I was misdirected but eventually got assistance. The room is dated but was clean, with no air conditioning. It was warm during the day but manageable at night with the windows open. Breakfast was decent, and the waitresses were efficient and friendly.

I don’t recommend this hotel for summer. 1. No Air Conditioning: It was uncomfortable in late June. 2. Window Ventilation: We had to open the window to cool the room. But the window could only be opened 5 inches for safety reasons. 3. Street Noise: Our room faced Woburn Place that generated very loud noise day and night. The noise kept us awake all night. One of my family members is 75 years old and he was unable to visit Westminster Abbey and St. Paul as we planned because lack of sleep. 4. Unsuitable Bedding: The bulky thick quilt was unsuitable in summer. Despite requesting thin blankets, we only received bedsheets and ended up using bath towels instead. good about the hotel 1. Convenient Location: Tesco Express supermarket is 3 minutes walk. Russell square tube station is 5-minute walk, and the British Museum is 12 minutes away. Easy access to Heathrow by Piccadilly line. 2. Decent Breakfast. 3. If you like spicy food or noodle soup, you will love the restaurant, TASTE OF CHONGQING at the hotel ground floor. 4. Well trained employees and excellent service. 5. Clean room.

The location of this hotel is amazing. You are almost next to the metrostation Russell Square and the infrastructure from there is just perfect. That is also the main reason for the higher roomrates. Unfortunately during our check-in, the staff at the reception was not very attentitive, almost a bit rude. I get it, that there is much going on in December, but you still can be polite to guests. The room was pretty okay, for what we paid. And if you stay here, than of course not because you want to spend your stay there, of course you go out to explore London, so it really was okay. To Asia travelers, this hotel does not provide water bottles, safe box, No fridge, toothbrush, toothpaste and slippers. ( All Asia and Asian hotel do provide the about mentioned products). But you can buy a toothbrush from the hotel vending machine, I don't saw any toothpaste in it. My family stayed in 5350 and 5354, both rooms without air conditioning or ventilation system. The room 5350 is facing the main street, have to open the window to air the room. The massive problem is the NOISE from outside - downstairs. People are talking , laughing every night and Trishaw taxis with loud music until 4+am. The room 5354 kettle is very dirty. Showering involved climbing into an tub with high, thin sides and no slip protection. If you slip on the way out you're going to break your pelvis. So make sure you hold on to the handrail when you in out of the tub. ( Reminder : please put the shower curtain inside the tub, if not you may flooded the toilet floor). The location, cleanliness I would 80% recommend it. The cleaner started to do the cleaning at 8.30am, and changed towels daily. Two beds with clean sheets , duvets and the pillows smelling clean too. The elevators only work if you place the room key over it which made us feel very safe and there was always staff at reception. Great convenient location, close to book shops, cafes, restaurants and the Muesums. Its less than 10 minute walk to the metro, taxi's are always outside. Was a safe location. Lovely park right around the corner too! Not a bad option close to St. Pancras station. The hotel provides a locked room to store luggage. They give you a tag so it's not just thrown Into a random room. If you have the London Pass, the two free hop on hop off bus companies stop right in front of the hotel. Near Russell Square station, the Brunswick centre with Waitrose supermarket (very affordable) you can get a 1 L bottle of water at £0.89, Tian Tian Asian supermarket.... etc. Super Drugs is amazing! Pros: nice location close to our Kings Cross Station. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Horrible stay at their hotel. Arrived early on the morning and used their luggage service which was very helpful. Since we had a full day we only got back in at about midnight. Checked in and went up to the room. We found our room after leaving the nice corridors and going down miles of corridor with rugs that have been taped over to hide the damages. We were dead tired and just wanted some sleep. When we entered the room it smelled of old frying oil. Beneath the room there's a restaurant and since the cleaning service took place around noon and they left the window open it had all the time in the world to make the room smell like a fast food place. Plus insects in the room. We closed the window but due to minimal isolation we could hear the buzzing night life below, cars going by, sirens, you name it. No air conditioning. No power sockets near the bed. Beds were standing in the middle of the room and had to be pushed to the wall to not have the pillows fall over all the place. No fridge.

These are what are not provided in the standard room:- - NO air conditioning or ventilation system in the room, not even a fan. The room is stuffy, we have to open the window to air the room. The massive pqroblem is the NOISE from outside - downstairs. People are talking and laughing every night and all night until 430 am. It was loud and ridiculous, especially since we had to open the window for air. - NO fridge, NO minibar. - NO noise block in between the wall and door. We can hear clearly next-door TV, people talking and kids running at the corridor at 1030pm. - NO cloth line in the bathroom. - NO double bed, ONLY twin beds. I have to give a thumb up for housekeeping. At least they keep the room clean. Remarks : No fan is offered when the issue is brought up to the team. In the reservations remarks, we requested a double bed. The reservation department should email us to let us know that no double bed is available in the normal standard room. Very clean hotel and lovely room. Very comfortable for our two night stay. Our room was a good size and tidy. The breakfast in the hotel is lovely, fresh and with a great variety. The staff were approachable and friendly. Great convenient location, close to book shops, cafes, restaurants and the Muesums. Its less than 10 minute walk to the metro, taxi's are always outside. Was a safe location. Lovely park right around the corner too!

Very distracting and crowded 3-star hotel Standard rooms except for the dated windows. Convenient location a few steps from the metro. Wi-fi in the room doesn't work😑

Hotel currently under renovation, probably for several months, perhaps even years given the size of the establishment. The sound insulation on the street side is not very good. To go up or down, the elevator is obligatory, impossible to take the stairs to get to the ground floor, so a little waiting at peak times. That said, our room was comfortable, the breakfasts were very good, the staff we dealt with did not speak French, but showed professionalism, great kindness and were very helpful. The location is very good, a stone's throw from the British Museum. Correct quality/price ratio, for 5 people, therefore 2 rooms, breakfasts included

We had a very good stay, the rooms were very comfortable, especially at the reception with Tai. A very kind and patient girl who assisted us in Spanish. I suggest that they hire more people who know Spanish, since she was the only one who spoke Spanish and when she was not there there was no one to replace her.

We went as a couple for 3 nights, frankly very good for the price, it's huge but very well thought out, the staff is friendly, the room well redone every day and the breakfast excellent 👍👍👍👍 plus we are at close to everything on foot, great.... the only slight problem would be the noise from the street if you are on the street side.

We stayed at this hotel for a few days and would recommend it. The hotel is very well located and close to transport. The room for 3 people was good, very clean and the beds comfortable. The staff is very welcoming and there is always someone there, which is very reassuring. The breakfast is great On the other hand, the negative point is the noise. We were on the street side and it’s true that we can hear the cars going by all night. The first night we barely slept, the sirens etc. We ended up getting used to it and sleeping quite well. I think it would be good to invest in double glazing..

A very large, but modest, economical hotel nearby. The location is excellent, close to Easton station, and its prices are reasonable I recommend it to anyone who is not looking for luxury in a hotel to sleep in The employees are excellent and their service is excellent The level of cleanliness is excellent The rooms are average Prices are reasonable The bed is comfortable The location is excellent There is a supermarket and restaurants nearby It is approximately 25 minutes away from Oxford, a 10-minute drive away It is an 8-minute walk from Easton station There is a bus station 2 minutes away Cons: No refrigerator There are no bathroom towels in the rooms. May God bless you No sleeper Insulation is average I find it one of the best budget hotels in London

Every time I go to London I stay at this hotel. The location is great, close to Euston and Russell Square stations, and bus stops outside. The rooms are small but very clean. The staff is friendly.

I stayed there 23 years ago...and not much changed, at least in the room I had. Bad mattress. The good thing is that they leave you an electric kettle, the elevator has security. As always, it is full of people, the receptionists are always overwhelmed, which makes it a bit impersonal. But the excellent thing is the location, meters from Russell Square, you can take buses and the subway to go anywhere in London

Great hotel if your expectations are not too high. Only advantage is the location. Next to Russel Square and the British Museum. Metro and bus stops towards the center next to the hotel. The room was mediocre. Had a double room, but with two single beds. Weird, they're a married couple. The heating runs full all day and night. It was piping hot in the room. The window can only open 10 cm and there is no air conditioning. This hotel is so big that many people have breakfast there in the morning. Many young people on a school trip. You may have to wait for an empty table. We will book something different next time. Then just pay a little more.

Nice hotel, all the employees from the person behind the desk to the cleaning ladies or the man who work in the luggage room are very professional and polite. You can leave your luggages if your room is not ready yet when you arrive or on your last day so you can enjoy more time in the city before you leave without carrying your big luggages. You can ask for extra blankets for example ( i did during a winter holidays ) and they will give them to you the same day. I've been there three times already. The modt convenient location for me and the cheapest i can find. The rooms are always clean and the mattress are confortable. The breakfast have a large choice (sweet or savory) you can also fill up your water bottle. 15min walk from St-Pancras, 10min from Euston station if you want take the train to a different city, 5min walk from The British Museum, 15min from Oxford Street, about 30min from Covent Garden, Camden Market, Buckingam Palace...

Having had bed bugs in our home a few months ago, we inspect our hotel room every time we go to a new hotel. No sooner had we went into that room than there was a bed bug on the wall next to the bed. We didn't stay a second longer in this hotel. Royal National Hotel, if you don't want to go bankrupt you should clean your rooms ASAP ! Do not go there!

Came with friends for lunch and we all ordered something different. Food was plentiful and tasty. Large portions. Would definitely be back. We were the only ones in the restaurant which is such a shame as food was well presented.

Visited as part of a day wandering around London and after a matinee show in the area. Had a Groupon voucher for set meal costing £35. Several of dishes not available from what was already a small choice menu. Appears long-standing issue of "no chips" was again a problem. By the time you add on a £30 bottle of house wine, supplement on the steak and then service charge you done get much change out of £100. Marked as average only and certainly not somewhere I would return. Nice air con restaurant with music which we liked but fairly empty and soulless.

If you like your deli meat cut a certain way, DO NOT go here, 3 times I asked for my salami thinly sliced & just 100g, I got 278g of the thickest cut slices I’ve ever seen, after saying again I wanted thinly sliced I was told take it or leave it, I left the whole basket I had, just plain RUDE

It's new name is Chicken hub. At the same address and at the same place next to Old Dutch pancake is Chicken Hub not Chicken cottage. On google, you can see exact pictures with hundreds of reviews. It was surprisingly good. Only place in London where i went again as experience was good. Grilledchicken with rice was very good and i will recommend. Service was great as well. Second time i found few burnt rice in it. Probably they have to work on the quality.

Turquoise had just opened. They've done a fabulous job in redecorating the old Cafe Rouge. Brightly coloured, it's warm and welcoming and the food is very good. I've only eaten there once with a friend, but we both really enjoyed our lunches. I had garlic prawns; she had lamb chops and both were delicious. In the centre of Highgate Village, it's a lovely place to pop in for coffee, which I have also done.
