The location is very good, breakfast delicious (vegan sausage available upon request), and super friendly staff. Although the room was clean, it does not match the website pictures so I was a bit disappointed. There might be some rooms like the website ones, but the one I stay was much more simple and older

This was a great location in central London. The hotel was clean and the rooms were cleaned every day overall great experience there is no real personal interaction with the staff because it is a very busy hotel but again when you are visiting, most likely, you will not spend much time at the hotel anyway. Overall, great experience and location. It is close to the tube and buses. I recommend this hotel to anyone visiting London and wanting to have a great experience.

Without a doubt an excellent location, impeccable cleaning, fantastic staff, I have to thank Fecundo who assisted us a lot by helping us, and was courteous, helpful, he has the charisma of a director because he knows how to listen and possibly help, also Jessica at the reception very kind and polite in everything, while I have doubts about the professionalism of the director, who had an arrogant attitude and for her there was never a way to give an alternative solution, either this or that! This was her law! Too bad because everything else was really ok🍒

The room doesn't match the photo, the sheets and towels are stained, the decor is old and falling apart, only one electrical outlet for a room with 3 beds (bathroom included), the walls and windows are very poorly insulated, and every day at 4:00 a.m., sheets and towels are delivered on a rolling iron container until 5:00 a.m. You'll appreciate the sound of the wheels on the pavement. The place is probably a former council estate converted into a shabby hotel... So it's a factory full of groups, tourists, and schools, so in the evenings there are parties and food fights in the hallways, and in the morning we fight to get out of the lobby as the tour groups debrief... Rude staff, they refuse one of my bags in the lobby because it's a tote bag and it doesn't close, so I have to spend my last day with an 8kg bag on my shoulder... No need to say more, I think.

Unfortunately the hotel resembles a country school home. Many school classes that are very loud in the hallways in the evening. Even after midnight. The rooms are very noisy and when the hallway is like a dovecote you can hardly sleep. We also had an old room facing the street. The windows are leaking and the handle was loose. The street was extremely loud and there was a drag. Luckily it wasn't cold outside otherwise it would probably have been uncomfortable at night. We only saw the renovated pictures in the booking pictures and ended up in an old room with a stain on the ceiling. Something like that is always unpleasant and we felt deceived. The staff was generally friendly and the location is good.

The hotel is very centrally located, the beds are very comfortable, and the room was clean. The only downside is the noise level in the rooms. I came to spend a few days with my partner and upon arrival they gave us a two-bed room when we had expressly requested a double bed. We had reserved it for 3 months, I think with enough time to organize. The beds are very small and impossible to put together because the nightstand is fixed to the wall. Surely there will be those who think it's nonsense, but when you manage to leave home without children or work after a long time, I really appreciate being able to sleep next to my partner. In addition to this, it is otherwise fine although the street is quite noisy.

Good hotel for a short stay at a fair price. Near the metro, easy access to the center. Clean rooms, friendly staff, but breakfast gets crowded, and street-facing rooms can be noisy. The breakfast was good, with a bit of everything – full English, continental, and a small selection of fruit (though no vegetables). However, if you didn’t arrive early, you had to wait quite a while to be seated (but the food was replenished regularly). The staff was friendly, and the lady at check-in (Oxana) gave great recommendations on what to see and where to eat nearby. The room was always clean and well-maintained. The hotel has great access to the metro, with several stations nearby. The closest one is about a 5-minute walk. You can reach the city center (Trafalgar Square and the surrounding area) in about 30-40 minutes on foot. Getting to Heathrow Airport from the hotel takes around 50 minutes by metro (Piccadilly Line – no transfers needed). Some downsides: Noise from the street – If your room faces the main road, expect noise even at night. Rooms facing the atrium are slightly better, but still not perfectly quiet. The metal-framed windows don’t insulate well, but for a short stay, it’s manageable. Very soft mattresses – This is a personal preference, but we found them too soft. That said, many hotels seem to have similar mattresses. Crowded breakfast area – As mentioned earlier, if you arrive after 7:30 AM, expect to wait in line for a table. And this was outside the peak season—during high season, it could be even worse.

The hotel is 2 blocks from the Russell subway which facilitates connectivity with the city. You can walk to the British Museum and the neighborhood is very quiet. There are several restaurants, an exchange office in front and the famous Tesco supermarket around the corner. The rooms are worthy of a good 3*, they have a coffee maker, safe and large bathroom. As for breakfast, it is simple. It doesn't have as much variety but it delivers. Excellent price-to-service ratio.

I stayed at the Royal National Hotel for three nights in early February 2025 and would recommend it to anyone looking for a cheap, central, clean hotel in the heart of London. It is especially perfect for a city trip. You are very close to many important sights and can walk a lot. The staff was very friendly. The room was a bit older in terms of furniture and not luxuriously furnished, but very clean and well maintained. You couldn't ask for more from a city trip. The only drawback is that the windows are not well insulated, but unfortunately this is the case with most English hotels. I can fully recommend the Royal National Hotel!

Our room faced a busy road that’s noisy, the vent in the bathroom was filthy. The instructions for the lift weren’t told verbally upon booking which would have been useful as we had our 5 year old son with us. We were staying the night before surgery at GOSH which the staff were aware of. It would have been thoughtful to let us know even though there is a sign in the lift to state this, we were too stressed to see it/acknowledge it. Just the added extra touch would have helped. Location was good for our purpose but depending on where your room is, if it’s next to Southampton Row you’re in for a noisy night!

I recently stayed at this hotel for two nights, and my experience was deeply upsetting. While the staff and the room were lovely, the first night turned into a terrifying ordeal. Starting at 11 PM, a group of boys was running up and down the corridor outside and repeatedly kicking our door. This disruptive behavior continued hourly until 7 AM. I called reception twice, and they sent security, yet the door kicking persisted. By 3:30 AM, I was in tears, and in an effort to seek help, my husband went down to reception to request an immediate room change. Unfortunately, we were informed that this could not be accommodated until the morning. As a survivor of domestic violence, the lack of a suitable solution, along with the offered complimentary breakfast, felt inadequate. This experience has left me feeling unsettled and has triggered the need for me to return to therapy. It was a deeply upsetting and terrifying experience that I hope others do not have to endure.

Hmm... location is good. Breakfast was satisfactory. Bed comfort. Clean and tidy with bathroom remodeling. Good value for money for a short stay. But. There is no soundproofing at all. The sound of the hair dryer being used in our room could be heard all the way to the elevator lobby area, and I was shocked to hear the daily conversations of other family members in the room. From then on, I always warned my children to be quiet when walking down the hallway or waiting for the elevator. Also, it was a roadside room, so I could hear the noise of the cars outside, so it felt like I was sleeping in the middle of the city. (I was so tired that I just collapsed and slept, but it must be difficult for sensitive people) It was inconvenient because there was no refrigerator. It's inconvenient because the dryer keeps turning off to prevent overheating, so you have to press the button briefly to use it. On the last day of the three days, there was a water leak from the reception lobby ceiling all day long, so I couldn't use the bathroom at all. Of course, the water was able to be used again at night, probably because the restoration work was done diligently while the travelers were mostly out. Our family, who came to the accommodation during the day to rest, experienced inconvenience because they could not use the bathroom. I used the public restroom in the lobby of the City Sleeper Hotel once or twice. I complained to the reception about the inconvenience of not being able to use water around 9 p.m., and only then did they take action and water started flowing again. Still for 3 days I had a good time haha

I have stayed at the royal national hotel a few times, and it's always been a great experience. Generally, it's clean, quiet, and the staff are lovely, as well as being central to almost everything you could ask for. Pros: Clean, comfortable, functional rooms. They're not fancy, but 2-3 times I've stayed, it's been consistently good quality. The quiet! I sleep very well, and I'm not a heavy sleeper. Other reviews seem to mention noise from the street, but that's never been my experience. I've been in hotels where you could hear every sound from outside, and these rooms are pretty well insulated. If you're a light sleeper, request a room that the staff think will be quiet at check in, and that might help. The staff are also super lovely and helpful; I've never had to wait too long to get someone's attention. Finally, the luggage storage is a godsend. Free storage for bags before checking in and after checking out (for a limited period, but long enough). Walkable! Right next to Russell Square and within walking distance of King's Cross/St. Pancras/Euston, and tons of buses. You can go anywhere from this base. Bloomsbury is also lovely--lots of shops, bakeries, eateries, and a full-sized Waitrose just moments away. Cons: the bathroom sink in my latest room was really small. I've noticed this trend in several hotels to put in mini-sinks, and I don't like it. Water goes everywhere. Also, I wish they had more double bed rooms available. Booking as a solo traveller, I don't really want a room with two twin beds, but it's not a deal breaker. Not really a con, but with the sheer size of the place, there is no "cute little hotel" vibe, so don't expect that. Overall, I will continue to book with Royal National, as it's proven consistent comfort and quality!

While staying at this hotel, I think the only time I had a long interaction with the staff was during check-in. Unfortunately, who helped us check in? Ran was in a bad mood because he was sighing the whole time and responding in an irritated manner. He sighed when he took his passport out of his bag, and when he wrote his address, he sighed again, thinking he had to go somewhere but we were blocking him. The room is satisfactory. For this price and location in London, I have no complaints. The bathtub is a bit small. The supermarket is close, the bus stop and the subway are close. It’s right in front of the British Museum. The security guards at the hotel ground hall were friendly. I slept with earplugs on, but police cars or ambulances pass by with sirens blaring once every 10 minutes on the main street. Please prepare earplugs. If you go in winter, you will also need an electric blanket. The room is cool.

Everything is old and needs renovation, from early afternoon you can't make noise and if you make a little noise they threaten to throw you out of the hotel, like some teenagers who were in the hotel at the same time as me. Personally I do not recommend it, since both the service and the rooms are quite bad. I also think that they steal things that they think we won't notice and they show up if you complain and despite that they don't have a complaint form. Unpleasant treatment with guests, in addition to the problems with showers and food. The employees are shameless and without empathy.

A well located hotel in London. The rooms are OK. The bathroom is a little small but functional. The hotel is huge! with its doubt a thousand rooms. It can be really busy at the reception or at breakfast. The breakfast is really good, typically English and unlimited. we were almost always there at 6:30 a.m. when it opened, which avoids having too many people, but already at that time you can see the crowds.

We chose this hotel, mainly for the affordable price and the location (a few days with friends). We were not disappointed. The location is perfect, 4 minutes walk from the Underground stop, Russell Square, with the Picadilly Line which takes us directly to Heathrow airport or to the heart of London. There is a restaurant/cafe and pub downstairs, very convenient. The room was spacious and clean, nothing superfluous, very basic. Only downside: The check-in was very long, often a lot of queues.

My sister and I stayed at the hotel for a week. The first night we had trouble sleeping because of some kids staying in the rooms near us. The next day Jabir at the front desk helped us quickly and kindly when we told him what happened. Thank you! We had a good stay!

5 STAR for providing a comfy place to stay before my exam. Stayed for a night right before the most important exam of my career. Quiet and comfy, good illumination which are the most important factors for my last minute revision. Although I could barely sleep due to my anxiety + fear towards exam, the beds were comfy. Forgot to print out my revision materials and the receptionist kindly printed that out for me (tho she charged me quite a bit cause there are too many pages…) Anyway the extra 1 star bonus is because I PASSED my exam 🎉, might have gained luck from staying here! And yes, I deliberately did my review after I got my results cause if I failed I might have rated 1 star🫢… well jokes aside, clean and tidy rooms with great location, nice place to stay in general.

It was a very cost-effective hotel considering its easy access, being right next to the British Museum and with multiple stations within walking distance. Not only that, all the staff were very kind and made me feel at ease during my stay. The rooms were simple but had everything we needed. I would like to stay at this hotel again when I visit London.

Foreign girl on the desk hates English people. Rude and dismissive. Rooms are tiny and look like an old people’s home. Tried to charge £50 per person for breakfast 🤣 don’t stay here. Also it’s just inside the congestion zone… stay a little further away save yourself the money

Nice Hotel, the only thing is that there is no seating and then tell us that we are not allowed to sit on the floor. Where are we supposed to sit???

Been coming here pretty much every week for a meal, sometimes breakfast sometimes dinner and I love it. Food is what you can expect for a decent home cooked meal at a reasonable price. Eat here :)

Turquoise had just opened. They've done a fabulous job in redecorating the old Cafe Rouge. Brightly coloured, it's warm and welcoming and the food is very good. I've only eaten there once with a friend, but we both really enjoyed our lunches. I had garlic prawns; she had lamb chops and both were delicious. In the centre of Highgate Village, it's a lovely place to pop in for coffee, which I have also done.

Buen lugar lo mismo para comer algo, por ejemplo una buena hamburguesa como para tomarse uno de sus 241 cócteles..
