Royal India Covent Garden in City of London, Westminster

We went on Sunday evening. The man at the door was very welcoming so we decided to give it a try. There was a nice easy atmosphere we had the poperdoms and chutney tray, it was very good they were generous with their bowls. I had chicken madras and my husband the tandoori mix meat, pilau rice and a chilli naan. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The staff were attentive without being pushy. We felt we had had good value for money for our meal and would return. The two members of staff at front of house made you feel at home. Shame we were visiting London!. Thank you we had a great time.

A vegetarian tali provided a lot of variety and flavors and spices, but they went very well together. The nan bread was slightly fermented and sour absolutely over-the-top delicious. Couldn’t stop eating it. I definitely ate the whole thing!😆

Awful. The worst Indian food I've had in London. The sauce was like a poorly flavored water (both butter chicken & korma). The Onion Bhaji tasted as if it was made the week before. The Chicken was rubber. Even the rice & naan were poor. Mango chutney and onion salad were about the only thing worth eating. AVOID.

We were out for the day , came here a few years ago , so we came back , did not book a table , and did get a table as most of the diners had just left , our waiter Zi was great and very helpful. Service was fantastic. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. The Selection of curry is so good. and thanks to Zi who made our day , and yes will be back again :) Thanks for your reply , just to say it would be great if you put up pictures of the famous people that have been at your restaurant , that might get more people to your restaurant :)

Had a wonderful meal at Royal's India - the restaurant has a nice, welcoming atmosphere, the food was absolutely lovely, and the service was brilliant: kind, fast, and attentive. They even surprised me with a free limoncello for my birthday, which was such a thoughtful touch. A great spot for a relaxed pre-theatre dinner - highly recommend!

It was my first time being in this Royal’s Indian restaurant. I was recommended this dish called Thali’s. It’s so delicious. I am so happy with this dish! The service is incredibly good! A good Indian restaurant to try in London.

The food was very tasty. I had a lamb curry. The lamb was super tender and the whole dish was very harmonious. I recommend using Neotaste, then you save money straight away. The food came very quickly and the seating was very comfortable. Will definitely go again.

If your looking for a friendly, welcoming and classy Indian food experience this is the perfect choice. The food is exquisite and the staff are caring and a great company to have around. Totally recommend.

It is a fantastic place to dine , with delicious food & a great friendly service. We had a perfect start to our pre-theatre, where my wife has a good value 3 cousre set meal, which had a few choices to choose from. I would definitely recommend in trying this friendly Indian restaurant. Perfect location before your night out up the west end.

The atmosphere at the restaurant is calming, friendly and welcoming. The food was superb and was served with delicious wine to complement it.

Just had an early dinner here, can't believe there is a 12.5% service charge for extremely poor service. The food wasn't too bad, but certainly not £78 worth. There was one other table of 2 people sitting in, which should've been a warning. We had to use Spoons for our main courses as the waiter didn't bring back clean cutlery after our starters. Definitely will not be back here, my partner feels like going back for a refund of even the service charge.

We enjoyed a really good meal with a very reasonable price and good quality. We ordered the chicken tandoori and lamb madras and both were very tasty.

Exceptional service by the staff. This restaurant has traditional Indian food and will cater to all your requirements personally. They even prepared a fresh batch of Masala chai ( tea) for me. The chai is the best version I had in the area. Definitely worth a try.

We popped in here before a show and the food was excellent. Attentive staff were on hand and the food was deliciously prepared. Plenty of flavour and a really enjoyable, freshly cooked meal. We'd definitely go again when we're back in Covent Garden

Lovely meal this evening before seeing Mrs Doubtfire. Really attentive staff. Excellent with allergies, gentlemen told me exactly what I could or couldn't have and what could be amended on the menu. Great value for money and food was delicious. The lime pickle is home made and I wish I could have taken it home!

J’ai passé une commande sur uber eat et j’ai été quelque peu déçue… Le naan au fromage était sec et avait a peine de le gout de fromage… de même pour le naan à l’ail… Le butter chicken était aussi très liquide… Les prix sont également élevés et le riz n’est pas inclu avec le plat (dont le prix est deja cher…). Mais au moins les portions sont copieuses et le butter chicken était bon. Dommage.

I can’t eat Gluten, dairy or sugar. Zie was so helpful, and patient! He arranged a delicious meal for me. We were in London to celebrate my sisters birthday, and he especially sourced some sorbet and bought it out with a candle whilst staff sang “happy birthday”. It finished off a lovely day perfectly. I would definitely recommend eating at Royals India restaurant, delicious food and helpful friendly staff.

Zie, the waiter was very attentive, chatty (but not too over the top) and friendly. It was my birthday and he made me feel important, bringing out my dessert with a candle and he and other staff sang happy birthday! All in all a very enjoyable evening and if we lived closer, we would definitely make the Royals restaurant a regular visit! I had Chicken Jalfrezi with mushroom Rice and a bottle of Cobra - delish!! A great Indian restaurant. Flavors and dishes identical to what is eaten in India (north India), classic assortment. Courteous service and pleasant welcome. Several of us chose the vegetarian Thali, several excellent dishes, served with naan and rice. Unless you make specific requests, the food is medium spicy, for a Western palate. But not too bland for those who know India Reasonable price. Highly recommended!

Ottima cena durante vacanza a Londra. In alcuni abbiamo mangiato un Thali vegetariano (assortimento di pietanze serviti con riso e Naan / pane indiano) un altro un piatto con paneer ( formaggio) e riso con funghi. Bevuto Lassi ( bevanda a base di yoghurt). Vero cibo indiano, molto meglio di quanto spesso servito in Occidente Piccante ma non eccessivamente per gusti occidentali, ma non troppo blando per chi conosce l' India o è abituato alla cucina indiana. Servizio amichevole e cortese.

Must say was very disappointed in the food. All tated a little watery. Even the dips for the Poppadoms. The 4 of all agreed. Maybe just an off day. Next time, i guess, would be fine, judging by many of these reviews. The guys serving were very nice and a pleasant place to eat.

We got the garlic naan, butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. The sauce on the chicken was so good! Flavorful but not spicy. The rice was a great addition as-well, very filling!

An all around very good meal. It would be difficult to get such authentic food in some regions in Germany. Always a pleasure and I can only warmly recommend it.

We found this Restaurant by chance. The service was very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, one of us asked for an extra spicy Birjani, which they could do. If we come back to London, we will go there again.

The food was quick and nice. The restaurant was in a central location, but a little bit empty maybe the ambience could have been better by lowering the lights. Staff were polite and lovely. It would be good to come here pre theatre for the speed.

Main was disappointing but the key issue was the nan bread. Initially I thought I’d lost a tooth filling but it turned out the base of the nan was partially covered with debris from oven, grit/sand. Tainted the entire meal. Staff apologised but would never eat there again.

I visited the store in mid-October, and my bag was stolen by a pickpocket while I was eating. I don't know why, but I was guided and sat in a seat close to the entrance and close to the counter. It was a weekday and it was a restaurant, so I was eating with a little peace of mind, but I think they probably caught my eye and then stole my bag. I checked the CCTV, (I couldn't do it and only showed it to my companions), but the seat we were sitting in was a blind spot of the CCTV, so I couldn't see how they were stealing, and I only saw a scene of them cheering outside after stealing. This is a restaurant where it is possible to have your bag stolen while eating. If you are going to eat at the restaurant, please be careful with your bags.

We came on 26/10/2024 for a birthday meal. We ordered chicken tikka masala and a Dahl and both were watery and near enough inedible. They tasted of nothing and even the rice and naan bread had no taste to it what so ever. I don’t know whether we just went on a bad day but I would definitely not return.

Great restaurant. We were served quickly by excellent staff. I had the best chicken dhansak I've ever had.

The most terrible food I ever had. Lamb was stale as if it was in the refrigerator for days and just heated, smelly and hard. The chicken tikka masala was watery as if taken out and added water to heat. Had to just leave as it was disgusting and unhealthy.

If you want an authentic experience of the Indian cuisine, this is it! Very nice chicken and good service, we will be back!
