I arrived in a wheelchair to renew my membership so I got to the bar and Jo who works there who was ever so busy that she had the time to come to the bar and serve me as well as help me with my membership as well. Thank you very much. What lovely service I had.

The Royal British Legion Club in Broadstone is a friendly members club, new members are always welcome (Buzz the door and ask) The club was refurbished a few years ago and has a nice relaxed atmosphere. They have a darts board, pool table and Sky TV (with sports) in the main bar. A separate room contains 3 full size snooker tables. Well behaved children welcome up to 7pm (I believe ) there is also a restaurant with various opening times, they also cater for private parties, wakes etc. in a separate room. Saturday nights will usually include live entertainment from 21:00hrs.

Called in here to have refreshments after a funeral. Pleasant and efficient staff and a nice bar with one real ale, and the usual mass produced stuff. Some parking outside assisted on a wet day.

I eat in the restaurant regularly and the food quality is consistently v good and great value. A modest selection to suit most tastes is available with an occasional special. Steak and Kidney pie, curry, steaks, fish and chips and lasagne are all v tasty dishes. The environment is really pleasant with soft furnishings, unlike so many really noisy restaurants. Have aways found staff friendly and helpful. Drinks are not expensive either.

No volvería si era el último lugar en Broadstone. El personal del bar estaba bien, pero la dirección era realmente desagradable y antipático.

I usually book the restaurant for lunch once a month for a group of retirees. The food is excellent and not at all expensive. The choices on the menu are fairly small and do not change over time - at least I haven't seen any changes for some time. Nella, who runs the restaurant, and the ladies that work with her, are friendly and good fun, so you can be assured of a warm welcome. As mentioned in another review, you have to be a member of the RBL to eat in the restaurant. However, the annual membership is very reasonable, and you can take a number of guests to eat there. The steak and kidney pie is a firm favourite with our group, and I have to ring up beforehand to make sure there is enough to go round! Otherwise Nella may have to make some more. The drinks in the bar are probably the cheapest around, so another positive mark to the club. The recent refurbishment has given a more pleasant aspect to the club.

I’m a member, and have been for many years. Since the refurbishment, the restaurant, lounge and bar have a fresh new feel. The bar prices are very reasonable, and this is invariably the reason I visit with my family. The Poppy Restaurant offers good food at very fair prices, but booking is advisable. Both the bar and restaurant staff are friendly and helpful, and the club in general has a very welcoming air about it. There is a snooker hall, bookable function room, on site parking and free Wi-Fi. There is a varied program of regular live entertainment, as well as a number of activities associated with the club. It is well worth the modest annual membership fee. Check out the web site for details.

Once again a good plate of food honest food that was basic but well presented for a hungry herd of seeing and former servicemen. Enjoy.

Now you have to be a member - but once you are - a feast of delights awaits. We saw cabaret act "Voice of Reason" and we weren't disappointed. From the outset they amazed the audience with their range and dancing expertise. Then the restaurant offers english classics that surpass expectations. Finished with some snooker and a wide range of beers - the legion is a must do!

The staff inside were very friendly, I'd rate them 5* but the food was not the best. The price point was perfect at £7.50 for a small kebab with a selection of salad and sauces BUT the meat & sauces were very bland, the salad was fresh but this was well below par from my experiences of a kebab in terms of flavour. The portion size was very generous, so if you are on a budget you could happily share this between two people (who aren't completely starving). I also tried a chicken burger, this did have a great flavour sauce and fresh lettuce. The only thing I'd say is it wasn't what I was expecting in terms of the chicken, it was more like a breaded escalope than what I would expect - not a bad thing - just something to keep in mind. Personally I don't think I'd venture back here but for the money and the nice staff I give it 3*. It may be that this flavour suits others as it was busy as well!

Four pubs within a stone's throw of each other, but this one is the best. Great beer served by friendly staff. Pizzas in the back garden were great too.
