Rowshuni in Sunderland

Orderd mixed tandori grill tonight from rowshuni sunderland. Not fresh as advertised. Pre-cooked and then warmed with onions and sauce. Nothing tandori about it. Meat was like rubber. Poor quality , un edible. Avoid

Absolutely amazing food. Fabulous service and delivered spot on time. Also thank you so much for the extra dishes for my 50th it was delicious and very welcomed. Best Indian food in Sunderland

First takeaway from here, wont use again, cold food and the Korma sauce was so watery, Thought the nan was a poppadom, so thin and crispy.

It was a delivery we had, took more than 2 hours to arrive and when it did, it was cold, the rice had a funny dry texture to it, the chips were anaemic and tasteless, the chicken dupiaza and lamb Jalfrezi tasted nothing like they should, overall we were, to say the least, very disappointed, there are much better options, but to give them credit, I did get a full refund.

I have to say this is my second visit here and I am not disappointed- food is fresh and Amazing !!! Meat is beautiful and the starter which often tastes frozen was extremely I believe freshly made 😋 will definitely be my new Indian Takeaway- its a 5 star 🌟 Plain chicken curry, Lamb rogan josh, onion pilau, chefs special kebab and garlic Nan - free poppadoms and onion salsa also - not one fault 👍

We do not often get take aways but whenever we want an indians we choose rowshuni. Unfortunately the last couple of times they have started to be late, one time took over 2 hours to come, which is too long when says 45 mins. Our last order was yesterday and will be our last. Food came on time but had missing items, specifically rice, so rang up and told them. They said they would send it out but would take a while because they were busy, so I told them there is no point as other food would be gone by then (over half an hour). They said they would give me discount on next order but I said I do not want a discount just what I ordered, so suggested just refund the price of the missing items but they did not want to do this for some reason. They then decided that they would send the missing items out straight away, so we starting eating and the missing items did not come for 50 mins, this is not straight away at all, and by then the rest of the food had been eaten. Absolutely pointless to send it out, and they lied when I spoke to them earlier saying it was coming straight away, would have preferred to just get the refund of the missing items as I asked for in the first place. I cannot understand when a take away makes a mistake they do not try and rectify it in a way that makes sense. Why would we want rice nearly an hour after the rest of our food? Very poor service, and as we do not often get take aways it is very disappointing when this happens, so will not be using Rowshuni again.

Order arrived slightly sooner than the estimated time. Food was excellent as always and the delivery man very friendly and helpful.

I don't mind foot being late but when it arrived the curry sauce was all over the lid of the carton leaking all over and I ordered 7 poppadoms and got 3 plus a lot of smashed into tiny bits of poppadoms. Dunno what happened there never seen anything like it. Badly packaged, The food tasted ok but a lot more care is needed

First time ordering. Definitely will again. Fresh and tasty madras is unreal. Shashlik was so tender and all delivered hot 😁 fed me and my parter both twice as you get so much.

Ordered lamb n got chicken. Kept getting txt saying delayed, came about an hour late. Starters and naan cold. The tikka chicken was really nice n curry was still nice

Food was hot and it was absolutely gorgeous the only problem was the sauce was watery and there was not a lot of meat but apart from that beautiful meal

Got 2 4 course dishes, one a vegetable Bhuna and the other a chicken tikka masala. The portion sizes were huge. Food was nice and hot and will definitely order from here again

Unbelievable food as always.The flavours are like nothing iv tasted before especially the lamb bhuna Tikka masala and also the tikka masala, melts in your mouth. Fab delviery also driver was lovely.

If you don't know how to make something then please don't. The lamb was so chewy I think it was made for dinosaur teeth's.

This was our favourite restaurant but its been disappointing the last couple of times so I dont think we will use again. We don't eat meat so order vegetable curries and the vegetables used are getting progressively worse. Rather than using the best veg it feels like the scraps of whatever vegetables are left are thrown in. The curries themselves are delicious, its just a shame they don't use good ingredients on the vegetable ones.

The food was absolutely disgusting. I have no idea what was in the curry but the whole thing went in the bin. 45 mins late and £20 for this muck. Never ever again will I use this restaurant i can not stress enough how bad this meal was... I carnt be the only dissatisfied customer surly.......it was awful

Fantastic tasty food every time

Ordered with a special box and it was amazing I choose masala sauce as I don’t like spicy. There was an estimate delivery time of up to an hour but it came quickly and food was hot & fresh. Highly recommended.

Great food and great service, although our order was a delayed delivery due to it being a particularly busy Friday we ended up collecting our food instead of waiting. The staff were very polite and apologetic for our delay and apart from the delay gave a great service. Food tasted great, would definitely recommend!

One item wasnt delivered but after a phone call it was rectified very quickly no bother whatsoever

Ordered king prawn starter for £4. 2 prawns arrived. Rang up to complain and was told king prawns are expensive. £4 for 2 prawns is not acceptable!

My new favourite Indian restaurant 😍 Food portions are perfect, prices are great & the food tastes incredible! Chicken in the masala and tikka was so tender and flavourful. Got Bombay aloo, too; which was lovely. Can’t praise this place enough! Deffo ordering again.

Food was early, delicious and red hot

Afghani lamb curry was nice, chicken tikka wrap was a spicy chicken curry in a naan my son didnt like and said it was too spicy to eat, special pilau rice was nice and sabka maja chicken tikka chefs special was supposed to be made with tandoori spices pickles and hot spices comes highly recommended and it was nothing like described it was sweet and the chicken tasted disgusting like when it's been frozen or reheated so it went in the bin and tarka dal was bland need some fresh chillies and more garlic in it.

It’s been some time since we ordered and the portions have shrunk considerably, 2 prawns for £3.50 for a starter is a bit of a joke . Food was nice but not filling .

Vegetable side dishes excellent as always. Tarka dal is my favourite. Inconsistencies in starters. We stopped ordering vegetable samosas after the type changed from two large samosas packed with vegetables to three tiny samosas with spicy potatoes, which we received twice in a row so stopped ordering. We usually order onion bhajis now but the last two times we received two instead of three. Is this a permanent change?

Excellent food we all really enjoyed it would definitely go there again and would recommend to other people.

Meal went in the bin, the rice was hot and cold in places, my starter ( mixed kebab) was tired, meat was tough and bland. My main dish ( green chicken tikka) was bland to taste and some portions of the chicken were cold, the green beans were cold and so wet that when I tried to fork them they fell to bits in a puddle of their own liquid. Not one of their best efforts, iv always been happy with previous orders and I'm hoping my experience will just be a one off,

We’ve been using Rowshanies for a while now, and never fails to deliver, chicken madras is delicious 🤤, we’ve tried a few other places, but always go back, as it’s good value for money and so tasty and fresh
