Amazing food, thanks for a great time!

So the owner asked me to share a pic that i visited the place. Most pathetic item on the menu Ironically was ROTI

This place was great on last visit. Now, short menu, and bog average food. Charged a load of dollar for one boney chicken wing! You could get great food here, but not now. One thing though, the service was great. Don’t see this place lasting which is a shame.

Delicious Indian street food, served in a thali. Roti has a substantial and varied menu, and a great choice of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. I’m lactose intolerant, and the menu was easy to understand in regard to allergens, this made ordering a lot easier, resulting in a great eating experience. Service with a smile, as well.

Service (by Sharif) was fabulous - very friendly and personal whilst remaining professional too! Food was tasty, with a great variety on offer. Sharif was very informative when explaining about different dishes on offer!! Will defo visit again - thanks!

This is a hidden gem. Food was so tasty- mince and tatties was a personal favourite along with the Haggis Pakora. All the food was fresh, perfect portion size. My wife and I ordered 6 dishes between us and was more than enough. Staff were welcoming and explained the menu perfectly. Staff were also attentive and because my wife had an intolerance to lemon and lime the chef made sure everything was suitable for her dietary requirements. Will definitely be back .

I had a fantastic time here and would highly recommend it to everyone! The unique blend of Scottish and Indian street food was a delightful discovery and exceeded my expectations. Both the food and cocktails were delicious. The music added to the vibrant atmosphere, creating a wonderful ambiance. The service was excellent, especially thanks to the manager, Sherief, who was very attentive and helpful in explaining the dishes. He made my experience enjoyable and was very handsome too!

The food was amazing and every dish was so tasty. We especially loved and would recommend the pork. We had such a great service, very friendly, polite and helpful. I have a gluten allergy and the waiter helped show me from the menu what food contained gluten and he also double checked this for the sides. Little things like checking if we were happy with the food, if we needed help and offering to take a group photo of us etc. We really appreciated. The service and the food was perfect! We had a table booked for 8pm and were not seated for another 10/15 minutes which would have been acceptable had we been offered a drink rather that’s just stood outside the door. We had been seated a good 10/15 minutes before a drinks order was taken. They had ran out of draught beer so opted for a bottle of tiger which had not been refrigerated. We order a bottle of wine but they had ran out of stemmed wine glasses so were given tumblers. Our food order was taken and we ordered further drinks whilst waiting. They had ran out of Sauvignon Blanc and I requested a cold beer as the last one was warm. I was then given half a pale ale on the house. We asked how much longer the food was an hour after being seated and were told 10 minutes. Our food arrived at 9.37 with no apology over the length of the wait . To be fair the food was delicious but the customer service was awful. Think they were concentrating on the take out orders rather than the customers in front of them. So disappointed as this was a birthday meal on a Saturday night and just expected better service. If I ate there again, I would probably order a take out a couple of hours before I wanted to actually eat.

We had a lovely quick meal here last night. Food was so flavoursome and the service was just right.

Just poor pathetic restaurant in entire Manchester. This people are super unprofessional, unhygenic with food. They are super expensive and I can understand this fact but they are giving lowest quality food. Lowest quality food here means, FOOD THAT IS SPOILED AND COOKED FOR LONG TIME. One lady even wrote in reviews section that they gave her rice that was having bad odour, I had same experience!!!! They think that people don’t know anything or they are dumb but people know all what kinda spoiled food they are giving to people that too by charging crazy rate. This people are playing with people health to make their profit margin high. If you wanna be top in market then atleast delivered good quality of food. I urge all people here that just don’t keep your steps in this worst devilish restaurant. It’s just trap for people who are foodies. If you don’t believe in me just read other reviews of people who said the same thing. Also, they are super rude and unprofessional that they even don’t know how to reply to the reviews of customers in public domain. They didn’t even accepted their mistakes but said something baseless in review sections and that shows how arrogant this people are, I am sure they gonna reply me in the same manner but I really wanna raise voice aganist such people who are just selfish, rude and playing with people health by giving spoiled food. Just shameless people. They are super dishonest too and excellent in hidding their mistakes. Been going here for a couple years now and always have great food! They've even started doing some breakfast stuff as a trial and it was glorious 😋

I have been to Roti in Sale twice now and both times I absolutely loved it! The food is really interesting as there is a Scottish / Indian fusion to it which results in very yummy and decadent small plates. And, even though they are small plates, the portion sizes are really decent. Especially with the burgers. I would recommend all the dishes but my personal highlights: Haggis Pakora - really soft and deep flavoured on the inside with a light crunch on the outside Paneer Burger & Bangra Burger - really well sized, well spiced with crispy paneer / chicken and fresh and crunchy slaw. Shout out to the Delhi Machi Burger on this too - gorgeous, crispy fish butty, basically Tattie Fritters - crispy and indulgent (also found on the Bangra Burger!) Scotch Egg - tastiest I've ever had. The outside pork and outside of the egg is very tasty and has loads of flavour (I do wonder about doing it with black pudding though...) And the curries are really deeply rich and delicious too! The cocktails are delicious and also have twists to them and suit the food really nicely. My Favourite is The Old Orient Mango Martini which has the fruity sharpness of mango but a twist of chili. And the Irn Bru Negroni is also lovely and really does taste like Irn Bru (I don't even like Aperol but could sink many of these!) The atmosphere and design of the place is brilliant. Smart and modern with an Indian twist. Service is personal, well timed and friendly too and the owner is obviously very passionate about the food and restaurant. We can't wait to go again :)

Absolutely incredible food! We loved the concept of smaller plates as we were able to try more dishes. It didn’t disappoint! The cheese and onion baji along with the chicken thigh were the highlight of the meal but we tried 5 in total and all were delicious. The staff were friendly and we can’t wait to return! Oh and save room for the battered creme egg. We were so full we just got one between the 3 of us but wished we’d got one each.

Let's not be excessively critical, nor overly praising of this place. Here's a realists take on it.... Atmosphere: The restaurant had a funky music which was to my liking. The decor is hip, modern and the lighting was of a high standard. Service: I did wait considerably long for my burger 20+mins, however it did taste good. Food: The burger was tasty, a little on the pricey side but overall went down well for lunch One piece of advice, I did see a lot of pork on the menu. As someone who is half Indian and does not eat pork, I think more chicken options would roll in more customers ;) All the best.

The food is amazing, I highly recommend the paneer burger, so juicy. The drinks and food come fast, the service over all is amazing. Tequila and ginger beer poured perfectly. Such a great place for a big family meal or a solo date.

Wow! ROTI does breakfast! Happened to walk past & the sample handed out was amazing. Bacon & haggis Bhatura wrap with tea, I must say, Amazing! 😍 Highly recommend trying this out, thank you guys!

Every dish served was a testament to culinary excellence, transforming simple ingredients into extraordinary experiences. The standout Chole Bhature, with its harmonious blend of spices and textures, was particularly memorable. Overall, the food was exceptionally good, far exceeding expectations and leaving an indelible mark of satisfaction.

Oh my word, what an absolute delight. From the best poppadum tray ever, through the haggis pakora, pork sheek kebabs and tattie fries to the deep fried Mars bars with ice cream, every dish utterly delicious. The Irn Bru negroni was a cocktail of delight. Well worth a visit and we will definitely be returning :)

I recently dined at this so-called "Indian" restaurant, and I must say it was a highly disappointing experience. The first thing that struck me was the foul odor emanating from the rice. I couldn't believe my senses when I took a bite – the smelly rice was simply unbearable. It's like they tried to pass off old, spoiled rice as part of their dishes. The main issue, though, was the complete lack of authenticity in the Indian food they served. As someone who appreciates the rich flavors and spices of Indian cuisine, I was expecting a delightful culinary journey. What I received was nothing short of a mockery of Indian food. The flavors were bland, the spices were lacking, and it felt like they were trying to cater to an audience with a completely different palate. To add insult to injury, the portion sizes were ridiculously small for the hefty price tag. Spending £30 at this establishment left me feeling like I had barely eaten anything at all. It's outrageous to charge such a premium for the minuscule portions they serve. The final straw for me was the "Briyani" rice. It was nothing more than a glorified pulao, completely devoid of the authentic biryani taste and aroma. It's disappointing to see a restaurant peddling subpar dishes under the guise of authentic Indian cuisine. Also, as an individual with an Indian background, I can confidently assert that the flavors served at this restaurant do not align with authentic Indian cuisine. It's disheartening to see many establishments, often run by individuals from Bangladesh or Pakistan, marketing their food as "Indian" while deviating significantly from the genuine flavors. In reality, they take advantage of customers who may not be able to discern the distinction, ultimately overcharging them for a misrepresented culinary experience. In summary, Save your money and taste buds, and look for an alternative dining option that truly respects and reflects the flavors of India.

Absolutely brilliant food, we just wandered in by chance whilst looking for a place for lunch while we were in the area. We were greeted by the lovely server and talked through the menu of Scottish/Indian fusion??! Sounds strange on paper but worked fantastically. Can't recommend this place enough, I want to eat the whole menu!

What an excellent restaurant, I can't believe we've not been until recently. Front of house and restaurant manager (Sharif) were possibly gave the most attentive and helpful service throughout our meal. After recommendations and advice we ordered and the the food was prompt, hot and fresh. I currently chef for Green King and I can say with confidence a lot of skill, thought and effort has been made to create beautiful dishes with a talking point twist. My only criticisms would be the minimalist decor, although making the place look more spacious and clean, made the feel of the venue a little flat. A coloured floor in perhaps hindi design would make it look less bleak. Again more attention needs to be paid in the same respect to the washroom area. I will be returning and recommending as this place deserves it.

Roti in Sale was absolutely delicious. The crazy items which I’d never heard of where out of this world ! Indian scotch eggs, sausage supper and the haggis pakora where utterly Devine. Such a breath of fresh air to the Indian market and as much as I love a butter chicken from “curry houses” I can confidently say Roti is my new favourite Indian !

Genius menu, everything was delicious and the service was excellent. They could do with smartening up the toilet and area around it, but we will be back.

Sadly this place has been poor on last 2 occasions. I hope it improves again! Cauli dish (Gobi manchurian) is now deep fried and bland, food was tepid and portions were smaller. They also don’t have a vegan yogurt sauce anymore so the only sauce is tamarind.

My recent experience at this restaurant was a mixed bag. On the positive side, I appreciated the opportunity to try out the restaurant during a trial shift, getting a glimpse of its atmosphere and operations. However, I was left disappointed by the lack of communication from their end after the trial shift. Despite sending a follow-up email expressing my gratitude and interest in the position, there was no response, which made me question the professionalism within the workplace. As a potential customer, this left a lasting negative impression. Additionally, I found the manager to be unfriendly and not welcoming during my trial shift. Instead of making me feel comfortable and confident, it seemed like he wanted me to make mistakes to justify rejecting me. This treatment was quite different from my previous experiences at other places. As a fellow Indian, I had hoped to work with them, but the lack of kindness and communication led me to reconsider. Effective and timely communication is vital for any business, and it’s disappointing when that aspect is overlooked. In conclusion, I wouldn’t want to work in an environment where kindness and effective communication are lacking. I hope the restaurant addresses these concerns to improve their professionalism and reputation in the future. Oh btw. Stop saying I’m fake. I’m a student in Newcastle University doing postgraduation. We were so lucky to stumble upon Roti when staying nearby. We'd left it late to find an evening meal and I reckon that ideally, Sharif would have preferred we arrived earlier however this didn't detract from the attention and care he paid to us and the totally delicious food. Cool decor as well, a warm welcome and tasty food left us wanting for more. We'll be back. Thanks again Sharif.

Having just moved to Sale, we were really excited to get a take away from Roti and I have to say that the flavours did not disappoint... ...but the price was ridiculous. ₤14 for 4 rotis is way too much (we called to check if they had made a mistake and were told that "the 2 rotis stated on the menu which constitute 1 portion, actually means one roti cut into half" - so basically one roti per ₤3.50 portion). As well as that, the curry portions were really small. Such a shame, because as I said in my first sentence, the food was fantastic, but at that price we unfortunately won't be buying from there again.

Tried Roti- Sale for the first time this Sunday. Absolutely delicious. We made it in time for the Sunday evening £15 drink and dine offer which was insanely good value for money. Plenty of gluten free options (though noted fryer foods-risk of contamination) also cater for veggie/vegan too. Highly recommended, can’t wait to revisit.

Wow wow wow ! We were oustanded by the intricate flavours of each dish , our taste buds were blown away with each mouthful of food , value for money I think so ! Staff were super friendly, new the menu back to front , Gave us a brief description of the menu asked about allergies , bill came to just under £80 , we had 6 -7 pots of food , and drinks to , we will definitely be back again and spread the word to our friends and family 👍👍👍 .It was Great to meet the manager and his son that came up with the concept and menu ideas real friendly and out going pleasent chit chat to massive thank you to ROTI & all staff 100% 10/10 see you soon Andy & Gaynor

Hidden Gem! Found in a part of sale I don’t know existed. Small Indian tapas dishes perfect for exploring asian food with a twist. Relaxed eating, attentive staff. Well worth a try! Plan your parking maybe I got it wrong but closest parking for me was a 5-10min walk away.. Pssst must try the deep fried mars bar & ice cream (see pic)

Went for the first time and had heard mixed reviews but wanted to try it as love my Indian food. The Daal was really really salty and like a soup, I ordered the pork belly curry and again it was really salty, minuscule size pieces of meat in a very thin watery sauce. The best bit of the meal was the poppadoms.

Having pondered over Lunch I was advised by a fellow colleague of this place for it's twist on Indian and Scottish food, now being from Scotland anyone will tell you, Indian food to us Scots is like a calling of the guard, so I went to check it out!!!! I was met by a great guy as soon as I entered the restaurant, he provided me a menu and gave me some time to choose while he continued with his table service. I chose the Mince and Tatties curried style and I have to say it was absolutely delicious and packed with flavor and chickpeas, which I find work a treat with any curry. I plan to take the whole family to dine in and enjoy the atmosphere. I highly recommend a treat for your lunch if in the area. Only point to make for me is I would of liked a little more of a portion for the cost, that being said, if you want quality then you pay for it.

What a delight. I went to Roti on a Tuesday night and returned again within the same week to try more dishes, including the battered Mars bar desert! The food is consistently good, follows a great theme, and definitely offers something different to the usual. Think Mowgli - but better - meets Bundobust with a Scottish edge which makes for a fun delight. The “properdoms” are great as a starter, and for me the spicy cauliflower cheese and chippy roti were extraordinarily good - the roti took me back to eating curry chips in Balloch looking over Loch Lomond. Will be back and would suggest you go too!

Not been for a while but we should go more often. Service and food was excellent. Popadoms are a favorite as is the haggis dish. Some new items on the menu that didn’t disappoint.
