I've been using Rosti as a local business to where I work for a few months now - you won't get better service or a friendlier team anywhere. The food is always fresh, portion sizes are excellent, priced fairly and served by a lovely team of staff who are always happy to see me and the rest of the office. Highly recommend!

Wish to add that I was in the que that day and I can only say the comments left from the previous person is totally untrue. The lady as stated 'blonde' in his remark is always polite, customer friendly and hard working. The remarks left is totally unfounded and feel very sorry for the hard work Rose and her staff have bring to Rosti. Rosti is so much more better since Rose has put her touch to the place. Food delicious.

Today in Rosti I witnessed one of the worst examples of customer service I have ever seen. A blond-haired woman ‘serving’, if that is the right expression. With a stone-faced indifference that would have done justice to a mortuary attendant. A gentleman waiting patiently behind one group, must have waited half an hour or more. Largely ignored by the blond woman, and it just went on and on and on.Two staff were talking to each other, the blond woman with her back turned to the customer the whole time. Finally, and with more patience than I would have had, he asked for some service, and the blond woman rather moodily turned round to ask what he wanted. It seems customer service is not important to the staff at Rosti, nor the sheer amount of time they make customers wait to be served. But this was not the end of things. The gentleman ordered a coffee and a slice of cake. He read a newspaper. He must have waited at least another half-hour or more ! Other people were being served all around him, and it was almost as if he was deliberately being ignored. Finally, this gentleman lost patience, and went up to the counter to collect his order. It had been placed on a corner of the counter and left there. But the poor man simply took the tray, and carried it back to where he was sitting. The blond woman just looked on sullenly and said nothing. An astonishing level of disrespect and poor customer service. What is going on here with the staff at Rosti ?

Rosti is a hidden little cafe off western way. Staff are always friendly and willing to help. I found that they are always updating you if there is a bit of a wait and why that is. I have eaten and drank tea here before always good food and good tea.

Wide menu choice and chef is always willing to adapt. Uncrowded comfortable seating arrangements. Great value with offers available. I use this venue for takeaway as well as sit-down. Nice step away from the hustle and bustle to enjoy a quiet contemplative coffee break or lunch time with friends.

Used to go here for lunch quite regularly when it was Italian but haven't visited for some time. Popped in for lunch and ordered (the pasta of the day and a sandwich), then we sat and waited (and waited). The place was only about 1/3 full but the front of house staff seemed totally disorganised. People in the queue (all 4 of them) were waiting up to 15 minutes to be served. This should be a goldmine with a great catchment area surrounded by office workers but it was barely functioning. They need to speed up and get organised. When the food arrived it was ok but we were forced to "take it away" and eat it in the car as we had waited so long.

No volveré otra vez y si tienes hijos, tampoco me molestaría.

Been here a few times so far and in line with other reviews I have mixed feelings depending on what you order. The pasta is up to scratch whilst the pizza is sometimes not. However if you want the atmosphere of a Ski-slope style cafe/resteraunt you'll enjoy this place! I would say that if it hadn't been for a NEW car park opened up in Southernhay Gardens, EX1 1UN, it would not be an easy trip. An enjoyable experience nonetheless.

What a lovely evening! We booked a family table for 6.30pm after reading fantastic reviews. We were not disappointed ! Sadly we were the only diners but this did not ruin the atmosphere! We could not have been made to feel more welcome than we were! The service was the best, warm & friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We weren't sure what we fancied so gave the owner free range to cook for us it was delicious, tomato, bacon & chilli pasta & tomato & aubergine pasta, carbonara & neapoliana pasta. Fresh salami & salad, garlic bread pizza & salami pizza. Strawberry gelato,Wine & beer, lemonade and enough food to take home & feed us for tomorrow all for £46! My little 6 yr old loved it and tried & liked new tastes. We will definitely return. Thank you so much

I have only been here for breakfast on a few occasions so can't comment on the main Italian courses, however it is extremely good value and also good quality, and they aren't frugal with the portion sizes like lots of places. For two huge cooked brunches with drinks on the weekend we paid just £11. The coffee is also exceptionally good, and the pastries tempting. The interior is very charming, as are the upbeat staff who create a joyous mood. It's unassuming from the outside and rather tucked away, so it's somewhere you would only happen upon by chance, but so worth seeking out. Just 2 minutes round the corner from Princesshay. (A 2 minute walk that will save you ££!)

We stumbled upon this great authentic Italian on our way back to the Car park on the Quay. I'm not usually an Italian food fan but this has definitely changed things! We were offered a choice of Fresh dishes with various Salads, i don't know the name of the Pasta and Sauce we had but the Plates were empty in no time. It was a lovely day so we dined outside, very pleasant. The owners could not do enough to make sure we had a great meal. This is obviously a well liked place, as evidenced by several returning Customers being on first name terms with the proprietors, a very good sign indeed! I therefore urge anyone visiting Exeter to make a small detour off the Main high street and down towards the Barnfield theatre and sample some Authentic Italian Cuisine at its' best! ..and at a very reasonable price and the Coffee is great too!

A local business, not part of a chain, they really care about their customers and will do everything possible to make you feel at home, if it means making another zingara (delicious savoury light snack) or bruschetta and bringing it to your table, then that is what they will do. Pizza, pasta and salads all made freshly on the premises, and a chance to try speaking Italian. I have enjoyed the food and lively conversation on many occasions. You are certain to recieve a warm welcome whenever you visit Rosticceria

This genuine Italian restaurant has been long established in Exeter. Expect a family meal rather than fine dining. The lunchtime specials are excellent value and there is a changing selection of pizzas, pasta and salads. Also a good place for coffee, cakes and filled baguettes; this restaurant is a popular lunchtime venue for local workers. Families are welcome and there is a small play area. Friendly and efficient service. On a fine day you can take advantage of the outside seating area. Open late on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays; closed on Sundays. This is one of the hidden gems of Exeter.

If you are sick of spending your money in corporate chain restaurants and want good basic italian food when you are on a shopping trip then this fits the bill. Its a bit of the beaten track near to Southernhay but it has plenty of space, service is quick and they are very friendly. The food is tasty and reasonably priced. This family firm were sqeezed out of Exeter city centre when Princesshay was developed, after having been there for years. Come on everyone support the small family owned business rather than the corporate giants!

Real Italian food? I don't think so! Lunch was more like a Tesco readymeal than anything I've had in Italy. There was also some confusion over the bill, 'I give it to you for £14', and no receipt was given. The food was stodgy and lacking in flavour, like eating in a school canteen or even a soup-kitchen.

We went to Rosticceria for lunch during a manic shopping trip. When we entered we were warmly welcomed by the owner , who knows one of our party as one of his regulars. All of the staff were polite and helpful. The restaurant itself is a little dated, one of our party described it as a bit canteen like, With the style of furniture, layout, and the fact that you queue up and collect your food from the counter, this is not an unfair description. On the plus side the place was clean, brightly lit and there is a small play area for children. This establishment is clearly child and family friendly. The food is as you might expect, mainly Italian. I had the pasta selection which was excellent, well made and full of flavour. The rest of my party had Lasagna, which was universally enjoyed! The sweets and coffees were also to a very good standard. One of our party couldn't finish all her Lasagna and asked for a doggie bag, this was no problem and they put it into a takeaway carton for her. There is a takeaway service available.

Unwelcoming atmosphere. Nobody at the door so we just picked a seat. We sat down for more than half an hour and no one came to our table. Not even a hello, 2 members of staff were wondering round the restaurant and there was only 2 other tables sat in the whole restaurant. Rude! So we just got up and left.

I visited Zizzi with my daughter last week for lunch, and we were so disappointed. We ordered a pizza and some drinks, but the quality of the food was really poor. The pizza was absolutely horrible, and it seemed like the starter was literally frozen and then thawed out by the chef before being served—it just didn’t taste fresh at all. As for the drinks, they were just sparkling water with syrup, which they called a cocktail, but it had no real flavor. Good food should be about quality and care, and unfortunately, this experience missed the mark entirely. We definitely won’t be returning.
