Absolutely lovely place, great food, great service , grat atmosphere, great drinks, price bit high but worth it.......

we have garlic intolerances and staff very helpful with choosing dishes, excellent pizza couldn't eat it all, good choice of puddings.

Terrible service, the waitress took our order for starters and main course. The main course arrived after a 45 minute wait. We asked where the starters were and were told sorry they are not on the order. We then had to wait a further 30 minutes for the bill at which point we were told they no longer take Tesco vouchers and the attitude from the staff was appalling. I personally will not go here again.

Enjoy and relax here. The service isn't particularly quick but the staff seem so happy to be here and enjoy trying to help so as long as you're not in a rush, it's a great place to eat. The food is really tasty, well cooked, hot and interesting. Everything about this evening was brilliant - and that comes from a grumpy middle aged man!! I can't wait to visit again.

We went there on Saturday the 13 the of July for my birthday. Everything, the food the service was excellent. I strongly recommend the carbonara the mushroom rizzoto and the king prowns. What to say about the gelato and the deserts.,just perfect. The service from Dam was excellent. Magnifico!!!

Not allergy safe (soy allergy) very lucky that my friend wasn’t anaphylactic but wouldn’t risk coming here if you are. Staff were informed of the allergy but food was brought out + no one checked who had the allergy/ normal allergy processes

This was my 1st time visiting Zizzi's, and I will be back for 2nd time. Booked for dinner and was greeted by our server. He let us choose where to sit. Food was delicious, very filling but managed to squeeze in pudding. Our waitress was really good, as I had downloaded the loyalty card there was an offer for £25 off which she made sure we used. Mocktails were good, so nice we had to have another one. Thank you Zizzi's for a great evening.

Came here for our daughter's 18th birthday last week. I booked a table online and advised it was her 18th. On arrival they'd put a birthday banner on the table and were happy to take the cake I'd brought, put the candles on it and bring it put after mains. We didn't eat the cake there as the food had been so good we all wanted to try desserts too! All staff were so kind and accommodating! Shame there isn't a Zizzi in Cornwall but we came up to Exeter to meet our son anyway, and my daughter chose well! Thank you to you all 😍

£18 for a Beef Ragu Pasta was cold and chewy and it contained 1 10p size piece of beef with not much very dry sauce .. tasteless

wrong food, no empathy from Zizzi, got told to re order and claim a refund. Apparently our order is still sat there in the restaurant. Shame about the people missing out on their food! So if I have to order again, I will have to pay another service charge and delivery fee! Not good enough and will not be using them again.

£70 for two adults and two grandchildren. Watery bolognese with zero herbs. I had to strain out the water. Disgusting. Calamari that had zero seasoning in the batter. Courgette fritte that was just oiled batter and again zero seasoning. Avoid at all costs. This is the kind of place I would imagine, that hopes their customers turn up drunk so as not to notice the utterly revolting food. Save your money and support a local owned venture, not the epitome of awful corporate junk. Service without a smile. A dinosaur that will hopefully become extinct sooner rather than later.

Waitress was lovely and very knowledgeable about celiac disease. It was super busy so unfortunately very loud but that can't be helped. Food was good. Will definitely be going again.

Absolutely love Zizzi, this one especially because it is in such a nice setting! Food was lovely as usual, my only fault would be a the pricing, which is pretty high compared to competitors such as Zizzi. That’s not an issue with this particular outlet though, more the whole chain in general, so my 5 star rating remains.

Friendly staff. Busy but still felt paid attention and had time for conversation. Garlic bread was to die for!

We came after having a lovely day out in Exeter. We were seated and ordered food on a tab but was insisted on ordering via QR code, we went to use the QR code and it didn’t work for anyone on our table of 6 so we had to call the server over, we all ordered drinks, starters and mains. When our drinks arrived 2 of our party had the wrong drinks but decided to try them anyways, the starters came and one of our party was offered calamari instead of the garlic bread they had ordered and had to wait while we started eating, the same person was last to receive her main and was given a pizza when she had ordered pasta and once again had to wait. She is not a soft speaking person so I don’t understand the confusion with the ordering. I received my pork belly roll and it was atrocious, sitting in a pool of oil, I had new potatoes which was squishy and soggy (signs of being microwaved) along with it came burnt salad leaves and a tasteless, 95% fat roll of pork belly. Which was stated to of coke with cracklin but did not, this was all tasteless and disgusting. As everyone ate their food I (after having 2 bites) had to push it away. No one came to check back on our table and so I called the manager over and told him he can take it away. In fairness he offered another one and I refused as it made me lose my appetite. He took it off the bill but I was very disappointed with the standard they held their food at after looking forward to it. I had to make food as I got home as I was still very hungry. Would not recommend to any friends or family and will not be returning

My family had a lovely visit until we came to pay the bill. Our Zizzi’s vouchers from Tesco could not be used at this venue. This was not apparent anywhere, you will find it in the small print in the ‘need to know’ information when you first buy the vouchers. This isn’t something you tend to read when you’ve bought these vouchers so many times. Please be aware, it’s turned into an expensive mistake!!

When is a chain not a chain? Beware the Tesco voucher scam by Zizzi. No notice anywhere visible but when you come to pay in Exeter, you won't be able to use vouchers. It's hidden well in the Tesco Concard rewards section. Be careful not to waste point like we did.

When is a chain not a chain? When it's Zizzi's and you have a voucher. Poor staff have to enforce management policy not to accept a voucher bearing the company name. They're well aware of this problem but you won't be informed until you're trying to pay the bill. Food was tasty, waitress was lovely. Shame on Zizzi's management.

A nice restaurant that everyone wants to have a dine in ,nice food & also the service

Lovley dining experience at Zizzi Exeter last night. The staff went out of their way to accommodate our needs as a party of 7. The service was fast and efficient. They listened when I had to special order something for my autistic son and got it right. Food was amazing, hot, fresh and very tasty. And they very kindly allowed us to bring our own birthday cake which they brought out to us at the end of the meal.. 10 out of 10. Will definitely be recommending Zizzi to friends.

Lovely venue with friendly staff and good service. Food was varying in quality between dishes. Three of our party had a Calzone, and they all said that it was very good. I was told by another member of our group that the vegan rainbow lasagne was enjoyable if a little stodgy. The chicken calabreze was a bit burned to the bottom of the pan, and the sausage ragu didn't have much taste to it. This was reported to serving staff who took the two meals off the bill. The deserts were delicious. The waiting staff offered us the option of selecting deserts from the main menu and combining it with the Christmas 3 course offer which some of our party opted for. The kids were given colouring paper with quizes on and crayons to complete them, this was a lovely touch, thank you Update 26/10/23 Excellent staff, very efficient on a super busy evening We had booked the table for 7.30 but it was so packed that we had to stand and wait for tables to clear before being seated 15 minutes later. Staff were super apologetic and were very attentive. Food was delicious and the flat white was lovely. Considering it was busier than our previous visit, I'm super impressed with the standard of food tonight. Thank you

First time eater at this restaurant as me and my friend decided to go for Italian for lunch,lots of choices to choose from the menu and astoundingly delicious meals was presented to us. I recommend the Cazolne Pollo Spinach as this was so delicious. The customer service here was excellent, our 2 waitresses Gracie and Justina were brilliant. Highly recommended for a tasty Italian cuisine.

Much bigger space than it looks like from the outside, nice aesthetics which made it a fun lunch spot. Really enjoyed the meatball pasta but I was spoilt for choice on food, it was so hard to decide!! The fruit coolers selection looked really good

Disappointingly we had a reservation at the near by City Gate Hotel cancelled one hour before hand and managed to get a table at Zizzi. Really glad we did as we had an excellent meal(apart from my Calzone but it was just the way it was made, too much sauce!) The lady on the main reception area (blond ponytail) was fantastic and you could see how well the staff were organised on a very busy night. Considering how busy it was, there was no wait for our food or drinks. Will definitely return.

Love Zizzi's but it's a shame they don't accept Tesco vouchers here in Exeter 😕 We hadn't realised when we booked a table for 6, 4 of which were children. It was only when we happened to mention the vouchers on arrival we were informed they don't take them anymore. Being on a low income we couldn't afford to stay so we had to gather our things and leave. The children were upset but what can you do.

Waitress and other staff were very friendly and accommodating. We tried one of the specials and a pizza and both were excellent. For a lunchtime, the place was quite busy. There is a large menu and most people should be able to find a good range of vegetarian options.

The lasagne was lovely and excellent cocktails. Great service throughout.

Over a hour wait for starters and nearly two hours before we got our main. If you’re busy/understaffed then say that before you seat a family. We arrived and it wasn’t busy so unsure what the issue was to wait two hours. Waitress was apologetic but it was a special occasion and made us late to our next part of the day… dampened the afternoon.

Normally completely against chains, especially Italian. But this was a great surprise. The set menu was filling, delicious and absolutely fantastic value for money and I would 100% go back!

It was expensive for what it was. The staff were very friendly and polite but service was very slow. The Calzone portion was bigger than I was expecting though.

Nice pizza and calzone. Disappointing pulled pork "loaded fries". See the pictures. Got a picture of my calzone and my very soggy, disappointing fries. Won't be ordering them again in a hurry! Also ordered a couple of pizzas which were nice.

It was a really busy service, we hadn't booked. We also had a Red Letter Day voucher that we couldn't fully download. The waitress that met us at the door sat us down at a vacant table, while she sorted our voucher out a waiter came and took our orders. The whole evening was seamless, no long waits, friendly and efficient young staff. Brilliant 👏

Family of 6 lunch today… most of us enjoyed our meals although the Margherita pizza was very dry with very little topping. Our server however…Eva was excellent and made us very welcome.

Very good food well worth what we paid.

We had the festive menu and pre-ordered. The garlic and induja bomb was tasty, but just a big lump of dough with stuff on top. The main course was very nice, no complaints. The dessert, a "snowball" , was very dense, rich and "claggy" could not eat it at all, wish I had opted for 2 courses.

Pizza was far too thin, crispy and over cooked around the edges, I like my pizza well done but was too much for me and this was added by the fact it was dry as the sauce on the pizza was minimal. I would have been better getting a dominos and that’s saying something.

Just all a bit urgh. Kids crudite starter was old, limp carrot and cucumber sticks that had clearly been sliced some time ago Kids pizza only had cheese right in the middle so there was about 7cm circle of actually topped pizza to eat My chicken and potatoes was very very greasy and served with cold, soggy and limp green beans My £11 cocktail was unpleasant and clearly contained very little alcohol at all We’ve always liked zizzi but after this experience we won’t be back, sorry

21 of us enjoyed a Christmas meal recently. The service was absolutely excellent: shout out to Grace for looking after us so well. Very well organised, friendly, efficient. This made the event more special. The food was really delicious, portions rather large though!! Thank you to all at Zizzi Exeter on 6th Dec 2023, we will be coming back for sure.

Wow! Our first family visit to Zizzi Exeter but it won't be the last. Have been elsewhere recently; this was far better. It was our daughter's birthday and the team made it special with a decorated table plus a complimentary pudding for the birthday girl. The food was really tasty, the staff charming and attentive. Thanks Zizzi Exeter!

I would like to name Katie as an excellent member of the staff at Zizzi Exeter. She was helpful, attentive, friendly and cheerful. Thank you Katie. The food was great and my 5yo grandson ate every bit as we all did.

Having been turned away by Coolings opposite (despite having reserved a table; see separate review) we were delighted to find Zizzi's kitchen was open when we arrived at 9.45pm. A warm welcome by the delightful and attentive crew. An excellent lasagna and crispy thin base pizza. Reasonable prices and a well deserved optional tip. We tend to avoid chains but Zizzi is an exception. 🇬🇧🇳🇿

Booked ahead on a busy Saturday near Christmas, and it was busy, busy but staff were courteous, helpful and provided good service. You expect good pizzas and pasta from Zizzi’s and we were not disappointed. All our choices were fresh, hot and tasty. Total bill, with couple glasses of wine etc., was very reasonable. First time at this venue, but we left very satisfied and would come again.

The only negative point was that our main courses were served on cold plates.

A group of 11 friends attended on a Saturday lunchtime. I had calamari to start which was lovely and tender and a very generous portion. For my main I choose the mushroom risotto, which was really lovely and flavourful. Unfortunately, the portion was extremely small compared to everyone else main meal. Three of us choose this main as one person in our party had chosen this previously and stated the portion was at least double the amount, previous times. I had the cherry/Black Forest ganache for dessert and that was delicious. The atmosphere was lovely and our waitress was attentive and very pleasant. I would go again but avoid the risotto

Great please to eat in Exeter food was amazing and worth every penny but even better was our lovely waitress (thing she was called Eva) who was under so much pressure as the restaurant was really busy but seriously understaffed with only 2 waitresses/waiters but she was so professional and friendly at all times, she made the visit even more better . Zizzi please acknowledge this amazing waitress your lucky to have her.

Went for a friend’s birthday and the food and staff were amazing! Our waitress, India, was brilliant and the sweetest. We all really enjoyed our experience, so thank you very much!

Food was excellent. The pesto rosso is to die for! I had it with mozzarella garlic bread. All very reasonably priced too!

Lovely venue, staff were friendly despite obviously being rushed off their feet with lots of Christmas shoppers grabbing a bite to eat but that didn't seem to phase them. We did wait a little while to have our order taken and the table next to us was served before us even though we had been sat for 5 minutes already waiting before they arrived but other than that very pleasant experience.

Met with a friend as have done many times before when the meals have always been very enjoyable and all aspects of service admirable. This time however was a different story, my standard pepperoni, ham and mushroom pizza was very poor as if made by an amateur, sparsely covered with all ingredients ie pepperoni, ham, cheese and mushrooms with about 2inches of completely dry pizza base around the edge and pretty bland, in fact probably the worst pizza I have ever eaten, even dominos are better. I complained very politely and restrainedly to the waitress who was almost hostile about this and she sought her manager's advice which was we won't charge you for your cup of tea. I did clearly state as a starting point that on all previous visits my meals had always been of a good standard and very enjoyable, clearly this current outfit cannot take justified criticism, appalling. I will NOT be back in any sort of a hurry unless the so called chef(s) take a hike and are replaced with competence and the staff with more civility. Please believe your customers and act appropriately, this was not good customer service at all!
