Service was awesome from beginning to end, team were friendly. Seated promptly, food and drink were taken swiftly. Tables were a little too close together but other than that was perfect.

We went for a Mother’s Day meal, there was 3 of us - 2 adults and a child. We were greeted kindly and allowed to choose our own table. My daughter is 4 so was super excited to see the colouring and crayons she was given. She has a dairy allergy and our waiter was great giving us information and showing me how to use the website for the allergy filters with the menu. Our food looked great, it was quick and delicious. We had chicken fries and calamari for starters, lasagne each and spicy pizza to share for mains. Our lasasgne was great, creamy and you could tell it was freshly made. Overall our waiter was great, accommodating and friendly. We were more than happy to tip upon receiving our bill.

I wish i could put 0 stars, if you want to eat undercooked food eat here. The calzone was very undercooked to the extent the dough was wet and cheese not even melted, very disgusting and disappointing and i’m expecting a full refund.

Visited for lunch when in exeter shopping, in the past have been here many times, this time a little dissapointed. Food is not bad and service is fine but the prices have increased quite a lot considering that the main dishes are pasta based (not exactly an expensive ingredient). Still worth a visit if you like well prepared and presented Italian food but it's not cheap.

We visited Exeter branch last weekend. We were a big group but nothing was too much trouble for our waiter Iain. He was genuine and kind - great customer service which seems to be rare these days.

Got terrible food poisoning, I was ill for two days, called to let them know and they said ‘what do you want us to do about it’ will never be returning

Came here for a quick lunch yesterday. I told the manager on duty Aga that I have limited time and she made sure that service was quick and efficient and even had time for a coffee before going back to work :)

We have been quite regular visitors. I was excited for the soft margarita pizzas, but today I was disappointed—the pizza was quite hard and not up to the standard expected for the price. Additionally, I did not receive a satisfactory or welcoming response when I raised the concern. This is probably my last visit. The food quality should be consistent, especially when we are paying the same price. If something goes wrong, they should take responsibility to maintain the quality.

We came for dinner on Saturday night, the restaurant was fairly busy given it was later in the evening but service was quick and the staff were very helpful. The food was excellent and the portions were a really good size. All round a great experience and lovely evening.

Bella italia is a nice spot for italian food in exeter! Staff are lovely and the drinks were really yummy. Food took quite a while but I think they were busy that night. I got a pasta and it was warm and yummy! They’ve usually got lots of student deals going so will be back to try those out!

Great Dining Experience We had a fantastic meal here, thankful to get a table without a booking. The atmosphere was lovely, and the decor was a nice touch. Both starters and pizzas were absolutely delicious. Ian was incredibly accommodating and friendly, making us feel welcome. The only downside was the unwelcoming hostess behind the counter, but that wouldn’t stop us from returning. A great spot for Italian food—we’ll definitely be back!

AVOID! We have been regulars for quite some time and the food is always lovely. However since our last encounter we will never be stepping foot in there again.We had been suck behind traffic and held us up for about 10 minutes on the way to Exeter. We walked in at 10:08 (had a reservation for 10pm) we apologised that we were late. But the lady at the counter turned around to us in such a horrible tone asking "what time is it?" We said around 10:10pm, she then said "yeah 10:10 kitchen is closed" instead of disputing this we just walked out. But felt i needed to make others aware. I understand fully that yes we were late and I completely take full responsibility for it and have no problem to have the consequence of that. However there was no politeness whatsoever. If you were able to book at table for 10pm I'm sure that kitchen is not suddenly shut down 10 minutes after that! Does it mean that we would of only of have 10 minutes to decide our main and not get the chance for desert because the "kitchen is closed". In my opinion I believe she lied to us and was just annoyed due to showing up late (by 8 minutes). There was no need for the rudeness and not a care about the situation. I have worked in hospitality of 3 years and not once would i have even approached the situation like that. We have become so disgusted by the behaviour we were shown that we will never be going back. So please be aware of this when going

My third visit in the last few months with different people and for different occasions.. food is always fantastic as is the service. Today Ian was waiting on the tables in our area and his service was impeccable. The food we had and his recommendations were flawless and we all had an amazing time.. his attention to the guests dining is clearly important to him and he is constantly over seeing and making sure everyone is looked after. This has been the case on previous visits where I didn’t remember to name someone individually. Thanks we will be back.

Brilliant night at Bella Italia, Exeter. Food really tasty and great value, especially set menu. Atmosphere warm and cosy. Our server, Ian, was friendly, attentive and nothing too much trouble. Definitely recommend!
