Rosey Lea in East Hertfordshire

Excellent service today. Served by the lovely Amelia, nothing was any trouble. Even though there was a big group ahead of us we were served our scrumptious afternoon tea, huge soft warm fruity utterly scummy scones, flavoursome speciality teas, coffees and fabulously perfect melt on the mouth coffee cake.

Very disappointing experience. Placed my order at 2.15pm was informed of a 20minute wait on food. Within 10-15mins we were served our coffee but no food. I discovered people behind me in the cue had already received their order. By 3pm I went up to enquire about our food to be told our order never made it to the kitchen. I requested a refund, having been left waiting so long and no one acknowledged our food had not come out. Shame there was no manager to offer us a full refund pretty disgraceful to leave the young male waiter to deal with the error. I understand it was not his fault, however this is when a manger should step in and look after the customer and put it right. One lady behind the counter said she could make our sandwiches up in 5minutes. If three sandwiches can be made in 5minutes I could not see how this could be done to a high standard. Very disappointing experience. Hire a manager who steps up when errors happen and don’t let the young waiting staff have to explain and apologise. No manager stepped up or came over to apologise.

First visit to this new Rosey Lea at Henry Moore. A fantastic spacious clean tea room with great views! large outside eating area too. My Scottish friends' first visit to HMSG. Excellent service - the Salmon Club Sandwich always my favourite. Comments on what good value the food was. Visit to HM house fantastic. Will return soon!
