What a gem of a restaurant. Food absolutely amazing, Amanda and staff/service fab, friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Amazing Mediterranean mezze platter, absolutely delicious as was the warm baked camebert and warm goats cheese salad. We will definitely be back, in fact will return to marske especially to eat here. Thank you guys and girls for giving us a night we will never forget.

One of my favourite places to visit in Marske. A wonderful ambience, gorgeous food and fabulous hosts. We are always made to feel so welcome and gluten free is accommodated without any issue and everything on the menu adapted for this. Just perfect.

As a Redcar ex-pat living in exile on the south coast, something like Rose and Potter could almost tempt me to move back north again. My friends had blown the trumpet about it for months, so when this past weekend I made my annual visit to the homestead, I had to give it a go. And I wasn't disappointed! A small, unassuming premises on Marske High Street opens up into a smorgasbord of not only food but also of ambience, service, and so much more. These guys know their stuff, and they love what they do, and it shows. We visited as a party of five and between us had the fish platter for two, the mixed charcuterie/cheese platter for two and the cheese platter one, as well as baked camembert, Northern Porker Scotch Eggs and Serrano wrapped halloumi. They cure most of their own charcuterie, which tasted absolutely wonderful, and the cheese selection was to die for, especially the charcoal cheddar. There are plenty of other little touches too, such as crackers/biscuits, grapes, olives and gherkins as well as freshly made bread. It was truly a feast for ALL the senses. The wine list is pretty damn good too for such a small venue, though personally I was in a cocktail mood, and a brilliantly made Old Fashioned just hit the right spot. The guys who run Rose and Potter evidently love what they do and were so welcoming from the moment we walked through the door until the moment we had to call our taxi, nothing was too much for them. The bill for the 5 of us including our drinks came to £35 each, which considering what we got was outstanding value. My only complaint is that living in Brighton as I do, they don't have a branch down here.....they would be a huge hit in my neighbourhood for certain!

Called in on Thursday for a cocktail, ended up sharing a cheese board which was amazing!! Nothing was to much for the ladies serving us tried cheeses we would not normally go for which was great would recommend for anyone in the area we will definitely be back to try more thank you

We love this place for drinks and quality charcuterie, cheeses, wine and most importantly exceptional service. Yes it can be a bit hectic when busy but that just adds to the atmosphere in my opinion. The service is always efficient and friendly. We visited again on Friday evening to celebrate my wife’s birthday and sampled some of the charcuterie cured in house and warm Mediterranean meze dishes. These recent additions to the menu have made this place even better. Thanks to Amanda, Ian and team for a wonderful evening.

Went with family to celebrate my birthday . This was our first visit and it was a lovely evening . The food was amazing , especially the dressed crab salad . Wonderful selection of Meze plates . The staff were warm and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble , they aim to accommodate every individual need . It’s a small bistro/wine bar but the ambiance is great . We will most certainly be back and can recommend to others . Thank you for a lovely evening.

Superb restaurant. Wonderful, generously portioned fresh food in a very relaxed pleasant enviroment. The wine choice was good , and well priced. My wife and daughter appreciated an impressive gin list too. We recently paid 3 times what we did here and the food was not as good!! Ian and his team provided excellent customer service. This was really a great find for us. The menu is unusual, the drinks selection interesting and the restaurant has a really cozy, warm feel. The platters are so varied and plentiful... they will top up bread and crackers if needed. Really good staff. Amanda is exceptional and makes everyone feel so special.

I can’t praise this darling little place enough, my first visit and most definitely not my last. We were treated like we were the most important people in the place, attentive and knowledgeable staff talked us through our sumptuous platters and what a feast they were. This is a really lovely place. We had 2 of our group were vegan and there was plenty of choice for them, we also took our well behaved dog. The food is exceptional and the owner has a real passion for charcuterie. We cannot recommend enough!

Travelled over from Wensleydale for a nearby exhibition and when looking for a lunch stop found Rose and Potter on line. What a lovely place, nice people, nice food and a thoroughly enjoyable experience. We enjoyed a walk on the beach afterwards and will definitely be back to sample more of the excellent offerings. We had an amazing meal on Saturday evening the fish plater was excellent and our friend had the vegan plater which looked delicious. The place is small and cosy, the staff were knowledgable about wine options. We wish we lived closer, we are going to try to get another table before we return home.

Absolutely delicious sea food platter for two. High quality food and service. Consistent on all aspects. Life saver during lockdown part 1 and 2.

Our first time back on an evening since reopening after the lockdown, and it was certainly well worth it. On arrival I was impressed with the spacing of the tables and the safety / health procedures in place. My wife had the house Gin and tonic and I had a glass of the Japanese whisky - yes in Marske. We had a fish / meat / cheese platter which was excellent value along with a bottle of one of the fine wines they stock. A lovely evening that is made that bit special by the atmosphere generated, friendliness and efficiency of the owners and the staff.

The platters are available for local delivery if the restaurant is booked out. They are excellent - a really good choice of cheeses, well displayed and with tasty additions by way of garnish. Little extras included biscuits, celery, grapes, capers, gherkins, hummus, strawberries, honey, nuts and seeds. We just added bread and wine to make a wonderful meal.

Great to see a local business acting responsibly and closing its doors to customers during the current crisis! More local businesses should follow suit.

We found this little gem when researching where to visit during our break in Marske. Can safely say that what we read online was spot on!This is a great deli bar. Yes, it's small. You can tell that looking through the window. Yes, they don't do large 'restaurant' type meals - you can tell that from reviews. What they do do though is a fabulous atmosphere ( on one of the 2 evenings we spent there, a young man (Tom?) played extremely well, just right for the ambience) and great, imaginative food. The gin menu is to die for and the larger measures very welcome.Only wish we had this great venue near to us in Kent. Oh and we're the couple that shared the info about the Italian flag colours and a certain salad... :-)Very much recommended.

On both occasions visiting here the ambience, food & drinks have been lovely. Every member of staff including Amanda the owner is so welcoming and always give our girls a fuss! The caramac shortbread is amazing!

My husband and I called in for a drink after a particularly challenging week. Not only were we greeted very warmly by the charming owner, but the ladies at the table nearest us as we decided where to sit welcomed us to join their table! We decided to leave them in peace and opted for the sofa. Menus were quickly brought over and explained.We didn't eat, but the food being served smelled gorgeous. The wine was gorgeous, the room is gorgeous, and the atmosphere is... guess what, gorgeous. This is a really lovely wine bar/deli/gin lover's heaven. Really lucky to have it on our doorstep.

At the risk of sounding like a stuck record I can only say that what I have just experienced with my wife was nothing short of food heaven - but it was also so much more. We just loved the ambience, the staff, the drink and food, and the owners Amanda (who pulled up a chair and had a chat with us) and Ian who explained all the finer details of what was on our amazing mixed platter of cold meat and cheese including a horse radish flavoured cheese (it’s an amazing thing). And the scotch egg! Now I like a scotch egg but nothing else will ever come close again. Wow!! So - if you are ever in the area of Redcar, Saltburn-by-the-Sea, Middlesbrough do yourself a favour and get yourself to this truly special deli-restaurant.

Eventually visited after receiving many recommendations from family and friends - were not disappointed and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Drinks and food came with a full explanation and we chose the home made mackerel pate starter followed by the mixed platter for two.Everything we had was excellent value for money and there was a good range of items in the delicatessen. Thank you to all the knowledgeable and helpful staff and we will certainly be back soon.

Hadn't been in before and decided to pop in on impulse. Chatted with the rather gorgeous barman about gin and then we tasted a few. I had a little halloumi to soak up the gin and it was really tasty. Would definitely go again.

Absolutely fabulous. I know it's a cliche but it was. The presenter of the wines was knowledgeable and informative. The wines were delicious and the tapas accompaniment was perfect. The flavours were wonderful. Staff and owners completely charming. They stole our hearts. What a wonderful place.

We had walked over to find this place from Saltburn for lunch and were not disappointed. I had a cured meat platter which came with sides of olives, sun fried tomatoes and fresh crusty bread and my friend had a panini with salad. Glass of wine as we were on holiday as well!

I have visited Rose and Potter several times with friends and as a couple during the day and in the evening and I've never been disappointed. The locally sourced food is delicious and the service is always brilliant. The owners and the staff put their hearts and souls into the business and it shows. A highly recommended 5*

We have been quite a few times now and always order the mixed platter of cheeses and meats sounds boring but every time we get one the cheeses and meats are different and the passion gone into choosing these products really shows plus the wine and gin selection is fantastic and very reasonably priced that combined with the friendly service it’s easily the best place to go in the area

The Rose and Potter is great little restaurant and Deli on Marske High Street, specialising in charcuterie, breads, and cheeses. Four of us had a lovely Friday evening there recently. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, the food, beer and wine excellent, the staff friendly and knowledgeable, and it doesn't break the bank. Definitely worth a visit.

A lovely little establishment with a very welcoming and cosy feeling. Three of us visited, drank wine and g&t;’s and ordered a mountain of meats, cheeses and breads and enjoyed it all. The staff were very attentive and helpful. Great little touches of explaining everything that comes on the meat & cheese board so you know what you’re trying and eating. Very extensive gin menu and great specials too on top of the normal food menu. Very impressed, Marske is lucky to have this place.

Called in with my family on a Friday lunch, as I've worked hospitality most of my life I know I can be picky, as usual I looked for the but, you know the one, great place,but, no but here, the place is cosy and eclectic, product knowledge is phenomenal, service is relaxed that is a massive difference, from slow, if I'd wanted fast food, I'd have called to Mcdonalds.

First visit to this Absolute Gem. The premises are small, cosy and comfortable, The interior design has been really well thought out and together with the layout helps create a great ambience. The menu basically consists of three different deli-style sharing platters (Meat, Cheese and Mixed) plus specials but don’t be put off by this because it’s top quality fare and will satisfy the heartiest appetite.

What a lovely place to visit for a coffee and piece of cake, a catch up the friends for a sharing platter and a cheeky bottle of wine with olives to nibble on or a cosy night with your hubbie and a couple of fruity gins to talk about your day. Pre booked the dressed crab for one . Served wwith 2 types of beautiful breads . It was just wonderful so try, but pre order as they dont get too many in . I had thw cheese selection.. wow .. so many cheeses , lovely oluves and there was a chutney served with it too which had has a little bit of heat but the flavours were wonderful . Got a generous portions of black and green olives . Lets get to thd gin .. well what can i say .. we irdered one that has the name stainsby and i had one with undertone of melon and recommended by the staff .. both really lively having quite different tastes but equally special . 8 of us piled in without a booking and we were welcomed politely and professionally. Great selection of gins were on offer so we selected several of the interesting beverages. To our surprise they offered us a selection of small eats which were delicious and delightful. At £50 a round of 8 drinks we could not stay all night, but we had fun nonetheless. Anyway we had a booking in a local restaurant so we only stayed for 2 drinks...

We discovered this place when looking for a pre-dinner drink on a rainy September night. We had heard about it from friends and were really happy we tried it. It is a wonderfully cosy shop front space, although with only half a dozen tables it will get busy real quick! It has a great drinks list with a range of gins (offered with recommendations for a mixer - nice), cocktails, beers etc. Food is based on the deli products it also sells with a choice of sharing boards, local scotch eggs and seafood. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Rose and Potter should be a huge success - hopefully they will be and find larger premises to suit.

On holiday in the area and saw this interesting little shop/bistro. It does get really busy so you do need to book.

Decided to catch up with the in laws at the rose and potter for some food and drinks (and to give Mum and dad a well earned break from our 3 year old)

As regular visitors since it opened a year ago you can guess we like it. Last week we had the fish platter for two which was excellent value, accompanied by a bottle of Old Vines Garnacha Blanca.

We've meant to visit this place since it opened after hearing a lot of good reviews so today we made the effort. Very clean modern quaint eatery also the staff were very attentive. Good selection of Italian inspired food on display to purchase. I recommend a visit and next time we will try the night menu.

This place is a little gem I have been several times and had a platter with a fabulous selection of meat and cheese. Super selection of olives, crackers and the scotch eggs are just WOW. if you want a sweet treat the cheesecakes are to die for. In all this place is a little treasure. We enjoyed a lovely visit to the deli for food and drinks on Saturday, four of us shared a lovely meat platter and a cheese platter plus a haddock tart. The owners took the time to explain the menu to us and the provenance of the food choices we had made.

Went with a group of 6 friends on a Saturday night. The place was really busy and you are cramped on small tables. We all ordered different meats, cheeses and scotch eggs to share between us all. The service was very slow, but the server was attentive. They should have explained when we first arrived that they allow the cheese to come up to room temperature which took nearly an hour before they serve it. This left a very large gap between ordering an eating, we would have ordered the food earlier if we had been made aware of this.

Went into try the Gins.service was very slow and it was over priced and felt cramped. Wasn't impressed with menu very limited, scotch eggs were out of stock, wont be back in a hurry.

Tried the Rose and Potter for the first time for our girls night out. The atmosphere and decor is fantastic and the service was impeccable. I picked the red to drink which I was advised was a Merlot which was excellent. Unfortunately I am klutz and managed to smash my wine glass which was promptly cleaned up without a fuss, and my glass and wine replaced which was a lovely touch given it was my own fault and it helped ease my embarrassment. My friends selected the many different Gins on offer with various accompaniments, and they were very impressed with the presentation and the different flavours on offer. As a group we tried the scotch egg, halloumi, mixed platter and the baked camembert, it was all fresh and tasty. Its lovely to see some nice quality places springing up in the local area, I will definitely be returning and have plans to bring my partner next time because I know he will love it!

Went and had a cheese and meat platter with Scotch eggs. Oh my word, what an absolute delight! The cheeses were creamy, fresh and locally sourced. The cured meats were extremely tasty but the star of the show was the black pudding scotch eggs. Can’t fault the place, menu or service.
