Have been to Base a number of times and never ever disappointed. The starters are amazing and pizzas are so so good - plenty of variety and veggie options. Highly recommend the Arancini for starter! The wine is v good and lovely service. Have also been in for coffee only and it is just all round a really lovely spot.

Pizza is pretty good albeit a bit soggy. The prices are excessive. £23 for house wine is crazy. It’s just table wine from Italy which is mediocre at best. I wouldn’t return but wish them all the best!

Good padron peppers and a good salad. I'm not someone who would ever chose pizza normally but someone else organised the meal. The pizza I had hasn't converted me but the pizza fans seemed to enjoy it.

We go every week with our walking group. Lovely coffee and cake. Staff so friendly nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommended

We asked for three scones, which were listed on the menu as served with cream, butter & jam, they were brought without cream and without explanation. When we wanted to pay less at checkout, this was initially not accepted. The girl said: “I have no cream”. Yes, but then you should have told us in advance. “Yes, but I don't have it.” No apology in any form, she ended up taking £0.20 off the price. Bad experience, not ok.

Food was OK but 96 pound for a few pizzas is mental

Excellent! Very good pizzas indeed, Base perfectly cooked and tasty, toppings spot on. Delicious! Service was friendly, attentive, but not too much. If we lived closer, we would make it a regular choice for us. Recommended.

Was only going to pop in for a takeaway pizza on my own but due to staff welcome and great atmosphere and vibe about the place, I decided to eat in instead. Ordered the Ham Hock and mushroom pizza which was really tasty. Nice hot food on a hot plate. Decent pizza knives too so you're not hacking away and pizza flying off the plate! Definitely recommend and will be returning soon.

After visiting Base numerous times now we wanted to leave a review, it’s one of our favourite places to go. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere chilled and relaxing but best of all the service is second to none. The staff are friendly and very attentive. If you’ve not tried Base yet you’re missing out.

Lovely attentive staff. Very friendly and helpful. Pizza's are excellent. The dough is so fresh. "The spicy" is very nice but be warned it is hot. I especially like the specials they put on which change regularly. Cocktails are well worth a try. Restaurant is very clean and a nice place to sit.

I’ve been to base several times with family, friends and as a couple and I cannot fault it on any occasion. Everything on the menu is incredible, great selection of drinks and friendly staff. Whilst it’s a little more pricey than some other restaurants, I happily keep coming back due to the quality of all the food. The dough knots are to die for!! I sometimes find if you’ve booked and only have a short booking period, you feel rushed out as soon as the mains have been eaten but that’s understandable when others are waiting, just wish it was a bigger venue to accommodate more!! Absolutely amazing place, highly recommended.

Good food, but 40 minutes in our opinion is much to long to wait for pizza, front of house staff need to talk to their customers if the kitchen is experiencing issues, not just leave them wondering when their food is going to be served, this spoiled our evening, so we will have to consider whether to return

Pizza was ridiculous, far better than I expected. Definitely up there with the best ive had. You wont be disappointed!

Whenever we are in the area, this our go to. The staff are always friendly, very accommodating and welcoming, to us and our dog. The food is always great, the lunch deal on a weekend is excellent value. The pizzas are top notch. Great service, great food and lovely atmosphere not much more to say really.

I’ve been to Naples and New York and tried the best pizzas in the world, but still nothing has topped these pizzas at Base Marske. Proper little gem of a restaurant. The sides are unbelievable too!

Lovely privately owned Italian Restaurant .Clean, welcoming and casual whilst maintaining standards. Staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them and made our visit very memorable and enjoyable. I visit family in Marske and my visits will always incorporate a visit to Base for all the reasons above but not forgetting the amazing pizzas, variety of choice and the quality. Thankyou to all.

Absolutely beautiful pizza. Cooked to perfection. Cocktail wasn't to shoddy either 2 for £12 but again, spot on. Service with a smile, fast food turn around that didn't effect quality. I will eat here again, without a doubt. One tiny criticism is the garlic dip pot needs to be twice the size. 👍

We've been three times now and it has been consistently great! Staff are really friendly and accommodating, the pizzas are delicious with good choice on the menu and specials. It's so good to finally have a nice local pizza restaurant with good quality ingredients at reasonable prices.

Lovely, well decorated place with really good staff. The pizza's that we ordered came out very quickly. We took our 5 year old but he didn't like the pizza but ate the chips. Ours were ok, we would maybe return to try other flavours and leave the boy at home. 😉

Good service and the food was lovely. The fish and chip pizza is worth a try. The new cocktail menu had some good choices and they tasted great. Would also recommend the calzone - it was packed!

Base has the best pizza and cocktails. You can request homemade gluten free pizza base with 24 hours notice too. Good veggie options. Great service.

Great pizzeria. My second visit here. The first time with my family and the staff were brilliant with my granddaughters. This time the food was even better and the staff were knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I have my own pizza oven but these are better than I can do. Please give them a try if you visit Marske

Visited with family ( 9 in total ) and found the food to be decent but not exceptional. Service was very efficient and polite ....... however it is little wonder the hospitality industry is struggling when places like this are charging £20.50 for basic house wine - and all the other drinks were pretty steep also! For the food I would probably consider returning but I am afraid in the end the drinks prices would force me to go elsewhere

Visited this evening, whilst on holiday in Marske and enjoyed everything about it, the food was amazing and the staff and atmosphere was second to none,We took our little dog Buddy with us and he was made very welcome.I have never tasted pizzas like this before , the calzone which was on the specials was another level . Highly recommended

An absolute gem of a pizzeria. They are Neopolitanian pizzas, a good varied selection, their homemade crunchy bits on the spicy pizza are to die for😋😋😋 Warm inviting atmosphere, very friendly staff and an excellent service, even the music was to my taste👍😊 their local Base draught lager was exceptional. Suggest you prebook as it does get busy in the evenings, reasonably priced, cannot fault the place😉👍

We were advised to go here by friends who told us our original choice was not as good ! As there were going to be 8 of us we booked a few weeks in advance so while on holiday in Majorca last week imagine our shock when another couple who we had never met before (Ronnie & Chantelle) told us it was excellent , we knew we must be onto something good!!! Good would be an understatement! ALL 8 of us have to say it was probably the best pizzas we have ever eaten and we cannot wait to go back, quite hard for them as they live 90 miles away but for us this might become our new favourite since the Star inn the harbour, Whitby closed down. A great independent pizzeria, good atmosphere and food. A great discovery if you want a meal by a locally ran, independent pizza and bar. Well supported by repeat customers.

My first visit here for my wife and I. Also with my son, daughter in law and granddaughters who had been there many times. The staff were so helpful and friendly and especially good with my granddaughters, even bringing them fruit and treats. The food was excellent and good offers with it and good offers on drinks supporting a new local brewery. Definitely worth another visit.

Base is ace. The pizzas were off the scale, tasty, fresh and varied. Really friendly and helpful staff.

Food was lovely, however seconds after eating our last biteful, the bill was placed on the table without being asked for, then we were asked to move to the bar area so they could seat other people at our table despite there being another free table. This really spoiled the evening as felt really rushed at the end.

Booked a table for 12. Pre-ordered as there was another big party in that night. As usual a very warm welcome from the amazing staff. Pizza’s are excellent and reasonably priced. Lovely atmosphere in the restaurant. Service was very attentive. I would highly recommend. We will continue to be regulars. Thank you for making our night run smoothly

You can't beat this place for its pizza. As the name of the restaurant suggests, its pizza base is superb.

We've been here before and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The decor is lovely too. This time, we went expecting to treat our teenagers after exams and were going to have 3 courses but they were not able to fulfil our order despite the minimal menu. Starter: Arancini was not available. We were looking forward to this as we've had it before and it is lovely. Drinks - Moretti - none left. Had to have house lager. Cream soda - none left. Pizza - no problems with these and they were lovely. Dessert- We asked for the dessert menu. The waitress said there were NO desserts! She said they have trialed them and now only serve hot drinks or honey cake! I've never been to a restaurant that has no desserts. Also, this wasn't mentioned at the start of the meal.This was a real disappointment for our family as were we then had to leave what had been a nice evening and go home early. The pizza was really nice but the experience was spoilt and our special evening out was memorable partly for choosing this restaurant which had only some choices available from their small menu. What a shame. We would go back but obviously, not if we fancy desserts!

We were really looking forward to visiting with friends but we were very disappointed. My goats cheese and caramelised onion contained not one piece of goatscheese, only mozzarella and the onions tasted more like chutney. My friend's pizza was so soggy on the bottom that it was inedible. We won't visit again.

This is undoubtedly the best pizza I have ever had. We have dined in and taken out, both consistent in quality. We have also had take out from another local pizza shop that we liked, and have to say that nothing matches the taste and quality of the pizzas at The Base, not even a close second. The staff and venue are also first class. Wouldn't go anywhere else now!

Called in Base with my husband and grandson Lucas. It was a lovely, friendly place to go after watching football at Maske. All of the food we had was freshly cooked and delicious. No ready made pizza here,no frozen chips. Everything made from scratch including the dips. Best chips ever was my grandsons opinion. If you want to pop in just for a drink its no problem. Your not obliged to eat. However, if you don't you will have wished you had.
