Alessi's in Redcar and Cleveland

Called for an early dinner around 17.00. I was pleasantly surprised that they have a discount up to 17.30. Food was good. Service excellent. I will call again.

Great food, waited for ten minutes just to be acknowledged at the door, again took ages to take our drinks order, only two deserts left out of seven.

We fancied a pizza and we decided to visit Alessi's. We were surprised how busy it was as it was a Tuesday. There were at least 5 large tables with different family parties going on. So it's very popular with locals. We decided on pizza, I don't think it was homemade as the pizza was perfectly round and all identical. It was well cooked and very good. The waiter we had was new and very young, but he did well all things considered. Would go to Alessi's again.

Fine Italian food with great service.

Food was very bang average and cold! wasn’t the best definitely won’t be back even after we heard such good reviews…. We came in happy hour and the only thing discounted was a pizza, the children’s meal cost the same as the happy hour and he got half a pizza! Shite

Gem of a restaurant. Ate here for two nights. Food excellent and staff very attentive - especially David. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend the venue which has a good atmosphere and friendly vibe. Good value too!

Had a late afternoon meal here as we had a train to catch. Service was excellent, staff helpful and friendly and our food was very tasty and reasonably priced. No overcharging for drinks either. Would definitely head there again, but we are a 100 miles away, so not easily done. Would highly recommend.

We popped in on the off chance of a table, happy to accommodate although glad we went when we did as it got really busy! Drink order was perfect, I like my lime and soda with just a hint of lime ... Perfect. We shared potato skins, glad we didn't get one each ! Spaghetti with farm veg for me and Pollo pasta for the wife. Pasta was perfectly cooked. Definitely be back !

me and my family came here after 6 hours or travelling, the service was amazing as was the atmosphere but unfortunately the food was disappointing. i ordered a tomato pasta and there was a colossal amount of sauce and the sauce in question tasted very artificial and to be honest was disgusting. i kept trying it and it just wasn’t getting better. besides the food, everything else was brilliant. price was reasonable and affordable and service was impeccable

Very accommodating to seat us without reservation on a busy Friday evening. Service and attentiveness of the staff was very good and the food was fantastic. Great value for money in a vibrant and traditional atmosphere.

Ordered a carbonara and it was flavourless, it had never seen egg or pecorino before. Tasted like a cream sauce with poorly chopped white onions added Very clean restaurant and the service was very very fast, I think the food came out in 5-10 minutes of ordering but unfortunately I found it very bland and would rather have bought a ready made meal from a supermarket. Neither my partner or child enjoyed their food either

We love this wonderful local restaurant. The food is divine and we are always very well looked after. Great for all the family and the atmosphere is really relaxed and welcoming.

I think a restaurant that's tried so hard to say I'm an Italian restaurant should focus more on the food than the decor of the place. I felt as though I was eating in an Italian verison of fantasy island where the food is made to serve children. If you are looking for an authentic Italian unfortunately this is not the place due to it being unauthentic Italian cooking and bland at best

Lovely little restaurant. Great food, great staff and nice atmosphere.

We got pasta one of which didn't get eaten. They where just so bland . No flavour what so ever. Overpriced for something you could buy out of a freezer for same quality. Garlic bread and chips where nice. Gutted really wanted to find a restaurant that can actually cook pasta dishes well. Never mind!

Saturday night dinner with friends. Everything was great from the moment we walked in. The lasagne was delicious, and I would highly recommend the tomato garlic bread. The staff and service were great. As we were with children it was a slightly early evening dinner at 17:00, and prices prior to 17:30 are slightly discounted on most meals.

Booked for our Wedding Anniversary, very busy due to Happy Hour (2 hours) just finishing, starters, spare ribs and Mozzarella Carozza deep fried triangles, main courses chicken and mushroom risotto, Aleessi's Ravioli, food was very good and came quickly, also no one came and asked if we wanted a dessert or a coffee, however after asking for the bill twice after 10 mins we went and paid ourselves. No tip left, which we normally do, but really serving staff should have communicated that you just go and pay, recommend booking between 5-7 , and also suggest more staff training

Meal out for the daughters birthday. 5 of us had starters and mains. Very fast service 1hr 30min from walking in to walking out. As normal Very warm, busy, friendly atmosphere . Food first class and very reasonable price. One thing I will say is the garlic mushrooms starter would benefit from some side bread please 🙏 and been an Italian there's no bread and olive oil?. Absolutely superb. Very accommodating. The best Italian we've ever eaten. Lobster Ravioli, Garlic bread & Pollo Crema was beautiful. House red was very nice too. From the staff to the food, it was exceptional. It was absolutely packed but the food came out really quickly 👌

Enjoyable old fashioned Italian eatery. Good value- also opens uncharacteristically early at 330pm (mind you by 5pm there were 14 diners on a chilly weekday in March. )

Me and my boyfriend went first time. I discovered this place after I won their vouchers. We both really enjoyed our meal. The pizzas were delicious and home cooked. We had the Padrino pizza and the Firenze pizza. The staff there are very lovely and friendly. We'll definitely go there again.😄

I had the Carbonara, it wasn't the best if I'm honest, the service was a bit hit and miss but in their defence,,, it was busy. Garlic bread was good.

Great restaurant for families, groups or couples, really friendly atmosphere and great Italian food. Comprehensive menu to suit all tastes, reasonably priced with a good selection of wines and beers. Booking on popular nights is a must, but well worth it.

My work mates and I had a great evening at Alessi's for our Christmas night out. There's something on the menu for everyone, even the very fussy eater couldn't make her mind up for ages. Staff were attentive and friendly. The food was gorgeous - I had chicken ruby blue and chips, it was soooo rich and tasty. It's really reasonably priced. I'd definitely recommend booking, it was really busy all night. Thanks for a lovely evening!

Great Gluten Free options as the owner himself is gluten free! I had the GF garlic 🧄 bread which is the best I’ve tasted, and then a GF pasta dish.

Came to Alessis with my partner last night. He's a big fan of Italian food so I knew I had to take him here for his first visit to Saltburn. Had a really lovely experience. Staff were very attentive and brilliant. Food was also very tasty! We had lobster ravioli and a carbonara with garlic bread and we really enjoyed it! Lovely evening!

We attended Alessis for a family birthday party. There was just short of twenty of us There was another largish party in as well as a number of smaller groups and couples The whole restaurant seemed alive and buzzing The staff were attentive and courteous Despite numbers close to twenty they managed to produce all of our meals at the same time And the food was excellent They also provided plates and cutlery for the birthday cake which had been brought in separately There was a wide range of authentic Italian dishes on the menu Personally I went for the Chicken Ruby Blue, which was delicious Will definitely be going back here

My wife and I ate here last night. Very busy even at 18.00 so glad we had booked. Genuine feel of Italy and superb food. Big portions too! Very friendly service and great atmosphere but don't go here for a quiet romantic night out. Your proposal may be misunderstood. Highly recommend it.

A family run Italian restaurant serving authentic cuisine. We had pizza and pasta. Seemed to be very popular with the locals. Would recommend if you’re in the area.

Get yourself a jar of Dolmio . Won’t be going there again . Can’t hear yourself think too many tables crammed in . Portions tiny .

On a short break we decided to try alessi restaurant. The place had a busy atmosphere. They asked us if we could return in half an hour which we did. All the staff were friendly & helpful. We didn’t have starters or desserts only mains. I had pollo Bella Mia and the sauce was possibly the best I’ve ever had really good nice portion of chicken . I had chips & salad but you could have veggies & potatoes. My friends had cannelloni & lasagne it was piping hot and they ate the lot both saying it was delicious. We met giovanni what a lovely guy we would definitely return only wish we had taken some photos !

Great staff, friendly, efficient even when they are really busy. The food is always hot and tasty. Recommend others to eat here. Early bird deals for pizza and pasta make it even better value.

Found by sheer luck but so glad we did. Food was absolutely delicious. Good service and you aren't rushed which is always an added bonus.. Excellent value for money. Will definitely be going back. Highly recommended.

Great food , great price, served very quick & hot food .

Lovely service from all staff at this popular and well established restaurant with exception of the maitre d’ who seemed grumpy. The vegetarian spinach ravioli in creamy tomato sauce was good but much too small a portion for nearly £12. I was still hungry afterwards. My friend enjoyed her everything pizza though. We shared a cheesecake which was very good. Atmosphere wasn’t great for us as we were right beside door with people smoking outside. I’d have much preferred to be further inside but maitre d wouldn’t move us despite us having booked well in advance.

Called at 5pm on Monday to see if they had a table for 4 adults, 9 children and a baby and they could fit us in there and then! Service was fantastic, food was delicious with very large portions, price was very reasonable, all round happy children & mums, a great find!

With a near 5 star review, one would have thought the experience was excellent. Sadly we had quite the opposite. It's clearly a popular place as it was overcrowded. The food we did get was excellently made. But the rest of the experience was appalling. The welcome was like we were a nuisance. Then we were sat at a number of 2 seater tables crammed into the same room as a couple of parties. It was astonishingly noisy to the point my gf and I were unable to hold a sensible conversation. We never saw the same member of staff twice (except when we got the bill) with no check back on the meal. There was an incident where the party group moved their helium balloons and they got caught in the ceiling fans causing the waitress to fall back into me. No apologies were forthcoming. Indeed, there were three further moments where I had to lean out of the way to avoid my Personal space being invaded. As I said: clearly popular venue. But it's a victim of it's own success. Too busy without having the discrimination to have less tables and better service. Extremely disappointed and rather spoiled our date night sadly.

Good food in pleasant surroundings

We found this place on the off chance while staying nearby on holiday. We arrived just after opening time as a family of 6. We were seated immediately and shortly after were asked if we required drinks, the drinks arrived and our food order was taken. The food arrived hot, plentiful and absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive. Absolutely no complaints from us. Would love to return if we didn’t live 300+ miles away but if we are ever in the area we’ll be back 😊

The best Italian food I have eaten outside Italy 🇮🇹

We popped in on the off chance we may get a table (we hadn't booked)! Asked the head waiter, well he looked in charge, and he gave us option of a table in the corner as long as we were eaten by 7.30pm as he was expecting a party. Our reply, well depends how quickly you can serve us then, challenge is on your service! It was extremely busy and noisy, several birthday parties and kids included. Service was OK, not much conversation with waiters, but we'd eaten in the time we were given. May give it a 2nd chance if we get to move to Saltburn in the future.

Found this Italian restaurant by chance glad I did first class recommend.

We’d heard this was one of the best restaurants in Saltburn and so booked on a Thursday night. It was reasonably busy but they had lots of staff. We were sat in a corner and then broadly forgotten about - no drinks order taken on arrival, managed to order main courses but not offered desserts or more drinks after that. Other than asking for the bill our only interaction with staff after ordering our mains was when the young lad who collected our plates said “was that alright” in the most uninterested way possible. Food was actually good - my wife had the chicken and mushroom pancakes and I had penne Arrabiatta (which slightly oddly had chopped pepperoni in it). Deserts might well have been good too, but as indicated they didn’t seem keen to offer them!

Great food, reasonably priced......but the staff were a real miserable bunch. Yes they were busy, but a friendly welcome and occasional smile wouldn't hurt. We felt like we were unwelcome.

Went for the first time in a very long time. The quality of the food wasn’t like it used to be. Such a shame.

We just made it before they stopped serving food, and they were so nice and accommodating. The food was amazing as well. We will definitely be back when we next visit Saltburn.

We had a fabulous meal with great service. Everything we ordered was exactly as it should be. We had a lovely bottle of pinot rose. Prawn cocktail and Mozzarella starters, followed by lobster ravioli which was amazing. Caremel cheesecake and afoggiata desserts finished our meal off perfectly. Thank you Giovanni and team.

What can I say regards the food. try putting more meat into the lasagne. tomato puree sauce in the lasagne which is also the same taste has the London pizza sauce sh it. I ask when the lasagne was made told me day before not...

Absolutely love love this place ! Anytime we have a night out we have to go here for food, the food is spot on fresh home made tasty food every time also served in impressive time and hot and you always get your money's worth, the staff are always so lovely and helpful. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes Italian.
