Ordered a delivery they said 45 minutes it was much longer. Ordered fillet steak in black bean sauce. Absolutely disgusting. Wasn't even black bean was sweet and sour sauce. The fillet steak if that's what you can call it was rank so over cooked and the meat was all different colours so not even sure what it was. Left it all and binned it. Never again would I order from them

I love the food here. Very well prepared and very tasty. Great selection served promptly and portion sizes are huge. Great value for money too. Staff lovey and Rose the owner is very sweet. I’ve used them take away too and the food is of exceptional quality!

Called in here very unexpectedly one evening really hungry and ordered some Singapore noodles and some spring rolls. They were just about to close but the young lady was very pleasant and took our order. Both were delicious and d I would definitely use this place again

We ordered our meals one chicken dish came out the 10 minutes later 1 chow main came out with a curry sauce which was for a rice dish which took another ten minutes to come out with another chicken dish we ordered plain moddles to come with the chicken dishes which took another 30 minutes to come out after complaining that the chicken dishes were going cold when it finally came out chicken was no longer warm when I was asked if everything was ok I said both chicken dishes were stone cold with having to wait for noddles all I got back was it was little busy thats why food was cold while we were sat waiting four other orders and takeway orders had gone through when you ordered your main you should get them together seen as we were charged for the noddles as a main because this restaurant dose not offer rice or noddles with chicken dishes and they don't do them on the menu as side dishes all bar one meal was tasty would not recommend sherred chicken as no flavour to it

I really disappointed that my takeaway was not cooked probably. Chicken balls with the batter not good. Offered a new potion but it's a 20 minute drive back. I was also offered a credit for next time. Very polite lady who was clearly busy to be that bothered. I'm not even sure my next takeaway will be in Colllingham. So not really convinced that I will see my money back. When I have visited the restaurant its been ok but not cheap. Disappointed Rose was able to help take calls or offer a refund. Clearly a phone issue as well as the calls just get cut off. Think a training issue with three youngsters trying their best to manage a busy Saturday

Excellent Chinese food tucked away in a pleasant village location. Delicious choice of meals at affordable prices. Will certainly return for another portion very soon indeed, particularly as we live in the next village. Very handy, very tasty

A first visit to this establishment even though we have driven passed it many times and always said we need to give this a try. it was a Saturday, early evening and there was a good mix of clientele which made for a pleasant atmosphere. The staff were very friendly but didn't seem to know which was our table even though it had been pre booked and how many of us would be there! The Rose Orchard serves Chinese food and traditional ales and spirits, it has a bar area with TV and a good size restaurant/seating area. As well as serving 'eat in' they were also doing a good trade on the take away element of their business. The food arrived nice and hot and reasonably quickly however by the time it did arrive the plates were nearly cold. Unfortunately they didn't utilise any form of heating to keep the food nice and hot so sadly by the time we got around to 'topping up' what was on our plates the food on the dishes was cold! This was a shame because the actual food was very good, nicely seasoned and flavoursome. And plenty of it. The only thing making this a 4* review and not a 5* review was the fact the food was not kept warm. In retrospect we should maybe have asked for a food warmer as we saw one being brought out to a couple that came in and ordered after us. We will certainly revisit. If you decide to visit based on this review please be sure to request a food warmer.

Just had yet another amazing takeaway meal, it just keeps getting better, delivered on time and superb food.

There were four of us and it was the first time we had visited. The staff were very warm and friendly on arrival and throughout our visit. The ladies who looked after us - Izzy and a lady whose name I did not catch - could not do enough for us. They were superb and a credit to the restaurant. The food was absolutely excellent - it could not be faulted. One of the party had a Thai Green Curry and he said it was probably the best he had ever eaten. It shows how good the food was as all our bowls were empty - nothing at all was left - either from the starters or the main courses Highly recommended and we shall certainly be visiting again.

Booked a meal for collection for four people. Arrived at appointed time, food was waiting for us and minimum time before leaving. Meals were exactly as we had ordered, well packed and prepared. Our first visit to the Rose Orchard and won't be the last. Suitable for all ages and groups.

We visited the Rose Orchard Chinese restaurant and pub,we chose a varied amount and found the portions were very good and all were delicious all served by great staff,there was also a great selection of wines,spirits and draft beer over all a fantastic night thank you Rose.

Third time here. Food is excellent but each time we've been seated near a very large table of drunks who were so noisy that its impossible to have a conversation. We've complained each time to no avail and this time emailed a complaint afterwards which has been ignored. If you want a good night out with conversation go somewhere else.

Just had my first takeaway from The Rose Orchard and it was excellent!! Fantastic selection, generous portions, everything was delicious AND they deliver to my tiny village which is very rare. Thank you and we’ll done!

Food average. Do not book a table after 7.30pm as you might be subjected to very noisy and drunk people. We have been three times and have not managed to complete our meal because of large noisy gatherings where you could not hear yourself speak. Complaints to the management were completely ignored so our family left. We will never go again

Friendly staff good quality food and fast delivery. I've been coming here for years and it's always OK. My neighbors are also happy with them. Why is it always so busy when people don't like it. But some people are professional complainers.

Worst Chinese we have ever had terrible sent it back twice you would think there first day back open would of been nice and fresh but no completely opposite

After being guided to a takeaway window we were rudely told we could not split the bill and had to pay in one single transaction. The food was far from satisfactory with the sweet and sour sauce being distasteful, the prawn crackers being greasy and the chow mein being dry, whilst also being hugely overpriced.

On bank holiday Monday whilst holidaying in the area my wife and I fancied a Chinese Takeaway , my favourite two dishes which I have 99% of the time from Chinese takeaways is ‘House Special Fried Rice’ ( always the takeaways signature rice dish and always the most expensive) and ‘Sweet and Sour Chicken Hong Kong style’ , my wife chose ‘Chicken Fried Rice’.On opening the foil containers for the Rice dishes I thought a mistake had been made as both Rices were boiled (as seen in photo)In this what I believe to be boiled rice was a couple of warm king prawns a chopped up egg , a few bits of chopped up Pork and few bits of horrible water soaked Chicken , I sent a photo of my dish to a friend who works in a Chinese and asked ‘What do you think this is’ his reply was simply ‘Boring and Plain’ which I thought was a perfect description and not one you would usually use for the King of a Chinese takeaways Rice dishes, my wife’s Chicken fried Rice was identical, bland boiled rice with few bits of water soaked Chicken chucked in.To charge me £6 for this rubbish infuriated me so I called Restaurant and was passed to a lady called Rose who I guess is owner , it was a typical conversation with Restaurant owner who came across as not wanting to listen to my criticism, thinking that she knows best and not wanting to admit that this is a sub standard dish , my advise to her is to drive or walk a few hundred yards down the road and order a House Special Fried Rice from the villages other Chinese Takeaway and compare !In my fairly vast experience a House Special Fried Rice should for starters be fried and the Rice not white as I guess it is fried in oil and a bit of soy/special gravy it should contain a few bean sprouts, onion, garlic , possibly water chestnuts, more than often the top level of meat is layered (Prawns, Beef, Pork and Chicken) and to top the lot is a whole fried egg with some sweet gravy drizzle dove the top ! Not a White boiled piece of Rice in sight!This is not an exaggeration, it was a truly pathetic attempt at a classic dish and on this will never return to this corner cutting takeaway, I just hope Rose reads this and takes it on board , if her customers enjoy this rubbish she is very very lucky!

Normally when you combine a pub with an ethnic restaurant something normally gives way, not so here the pub side of things has a nice seating area with comfy sofas and a proper bar with real ales and lagers and multiple other craft beers which would put some pubs to shame. The bar back is packed with gins of all flavors and all your favorite brands of drinks and wines. This is still a proper pub and its fine if you only want to drink. On to the food, at the top end of the pub its set out as a normal restaurant with a full menu. We started with the dry ribs which were excellent. Our group of 4 all had different mains but I had the special chow-mien and I asked for it extra hot along with hot curry sauce and it was perfect even for a chilly fan like me. The portions were plentiful and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were great and efficient and we are coming back with a large group shortly. After the meal we had a nice conversation with Rose the owner along with more superb Oakham Citra IPA back in the pub part. The banter from the bar added to the atmosphere. Than you to Rose and the staff for a great evening.

Me and my friend ate here one evening as we were out that way. The restaurant wasnt busy, although the bar so there was a good atmosphere. UIt was mid week when we visited. The service was excellent and we didnt wait long for our food. We had the set menu and we certainly werent disappointed. The food was lovely and the portion size was huge. We will definitely be going back again.

Good chinese food with quick take out or handsome old style pub dining room. The usual menu for a good sized chinese restaurant and most items well done.

A party of 10 booked for 7 pm Another large party dining as well We where told where be waiting for food Asked if we would like Banquet Menu as this would be quicker We declined this Ordered our meals .Meals came out at different times Dilemma !! .Do those who have food eat or wait ? . The ones with food ate theirs The others waited it was 9pm when the final meal arrived at this point One upset Husband had a rant . While we where waiting lots of Take away meals where being brought out from the Kitchen .. I can`t fault the food it`s beautiful But the long wait spoilt the night just a little . Point is Diners may not be the Priority as it`s a Village Pub /takeaway and These customers probably use the Takeaway facilities most weeks . Maybe more kitchen staff are need for busy weekends .

The food was good but it all came and different times, some people sat with their rice/side dishes waiting for main dishes to come out and others had their main dishes waiting for their rice/side dishes. This meant that the food you did get was going cold whilst you waited for the rest to arrive, poor service. This has happened before when I have been here and alot of friends that have visited have said the same, The food should come out all at the same time.

After deciding to give this place another go , this time for a takeaway .when we got it home it was not only the wrong order of rice the main dish itself was supposed to be chicken in chilli and garlic, the chicken was very pale and stringy the sauce was very gloopy and could not eat it , when we rang to say they got it badly wrong they did in fairness offer to deliver the right rice ,but to be honest it just put us off ,but was told to contact rose when they come back from holiday . NO EXCUSE. We will be seeking to get a refund. As we then had to go and eat out Not good enough rose orchard !!!!!

We regularly have a takeaway from the Rose Orchard and have never been disappointed with the freshness and quality of the food. Delivery is always prompt - ignore their estimated time as they will always be early - and friendly.

We ordered mixed starter , chicken skewers, fillet steak with ginger and spring onion, crispy shredded beef, vermiicelli noodles and rice, well what can I say,

Food was awful, party of six and we all agreed the food was very poor, no heating on very cold, no table heaters for the food, overall very disappointing experience, we all agreed we wont be returning, plenty of other good Chinese restaurants.

This restaurant had some of the best Chinese food I've tasted in awhile. The portions were good, the food was better and all the staff were friendly.

We recently ordered a takeaway from rose orchard and were underwhelmed by the overall service.

The worst ever Chinese we had a takeaway and all the dishes were tasteless and tasted like re heated food we had crispy chilli beef which was soggy and far too spicy certainly not crispy! The egg fried rice was not freshly cooked the beef chow mien was awful couldn’t eat the beef too chewy and over cooked and the chicken balls didn’t even taste like chicken and were soggy! Whole takeaway disgusting waste of money go somewhere else!

Thought we would try a takeaway from here last night as the usual takeaway in the village was closed. Well to start with I was met by the owner who was so rude and left me standing at the bar whilst she carried on talking to regular customers. Then a young girl came into the bar and the owner shouted at her in front of other customers to see what it was I wanted !!!!!. I went for the set meal for two at £20.00. Well the fried rice was cold and looked more looked more like boiled rice, the beef in black bean sauce was just unedable, the sweet and sour chicken was just loads of pineapple pieces. If I did not live 15 mins away I would have taken it all back anf thrown it at her

Unfriendly and rude staff, we walked out of this place within minutes of arriving. travelled 7 miles to get there, not woth the petrol

Our family had a take away meal tonight from Rose Orchard and was very disappointed.

We ordered a Chinese 24 hours in advance in order to have it by 7pm on a Friday night. This was a family meal to which we were looking forward to. Unfortunately it was incredibly disappointing. The food turned up with no rice. A phone call was made to them politely explaining we have no rice with our dishes, the response was very rude and abrupt “well we definitely packed the rice for you”, obviously our response was “well we definitely don’t have any rice here”. They may as well have said we were lying. Whether or not our rice had been left in the delivery car was completely beside the point. We still do not know what happened to our rice but no one had apologised or made us feel like a valued customer after spending over £100. They phoned back after we had already explained how many rice dishes they had forgotten, but were asking again how many they needed to bring, then Reluctantly they delivered our rice 30 mins later with no complementary prawn crackers or anything as a good will gesture. The food was very greasy and we were pretty sure it had been re-heated especially the sticky dry rice. Very poor quality and a waste of money. Will never order from there again!

Our regular weekend Chinese, they deliver very quickly to the local villages which sets them apart from most others and the food is excellent and good value

Being local we use the Rose Orchard at the King's Head regularly, both for dinner and takeaways. The food is tasty and the service is very good. We can particularly recommend the crispy duck, the fillet steak and Mongolian lamb. 😋

It's a villiage pub turned into a bar and restaurant i can highly recommend it. Good Cantanese food and friendly owners and staff.

I moved to collingham about a year ago. Rose has always been so welcoming. Her husband Ben is lovely too. Always so friendly and remember your regular orders. Whenever we use the restaurant rose comes over and sits with us and asks what we want and make recommendations where necessary. Always fantastic food. Would recommend anyone to try this place. Bad reviews are ridiculously picky people honestly, the best Chinese I have ever had.

We went there as a family of four with two young children. The food was great really tasty and lovely and hot. We had mixed starter and lettuce and minced pork wraps. Witch was superb. As was the fillet steak Cantonese style. Singapore noddles and yang chow fried rice. Sweet and sour king prawns was good. Only little gripe was the drinks were expensive. Will definitely be returning.

This is the very worst takeaway ever. We have eaten in this restaurant a while ago and it was ok, we thought then the house wine was overpriced,so this time we decided to have a takeaway. The pork sweet and sour was fatty greasy and could not eat it ,the egg fried rice was a sticky rice with bits of egg in it. What a waste of money as the lot went in the bin. I was so upset I decided to email them 3 days later still no reply. NEVER AGAIN

Saturday night takeaway for 13 people visiting the area to race at a local Kart circuit. All agreed that it was simply one of the best Chinese meals we had eaten and trust me we've eaten a few, not fazed by a relatively large order and all food was hot when we got it back. Definitely recommend for take out

This was my second visit to the Rose Orchard, again it was excellent. On the previous occasion it was a busy Saturday night shortly before Christmas, this time it was a quiet Tuesday. On both occasions the service and food was great, hot, tasty and plentiful. The waitress was efficient and cheerful, Despite two of our party having been very late after initially going to the wrong venue, we did not feel the slightest bit rushed. We shall certainly be returning and we will be recommending it to our friends.

Visited with family and had a lovely Chinese meal, we booked for a Friday evening as it gets busy, the menu had great choices and all the family chose their favourites and duck and pancakes too, good beer and wine choices too. The food all arrived hot and very tasty and good portion sizes and the staff knew their dishes and able to recommend new dishes as well, we have been more than once and really enjoy this restaurant and has a good friendly atmosphere and welcome you, we will be back xx

Had friends over on Sat 1 July. Decided to have a takeaway. Have used Rose Orchard a few times. Always had great food. Not sure if new chief but the food was amazing this time. We had Salt & Pepper Squid as part of our order. We asked for dish to be hot & spicy and it was. The squid was cooked to perfection, All our dishes were very tasty. Would definitely recommend to friends. Keep up the good food Rose Orchard. Tracey, Newark

We tried this restaurant after hearing varied reports and wanted to try it ourselves. We were really pleased we did and really enjoyed it. We have been several times since and had a drink at the bar, having been the last few times with my sister and brother-in-law. Rose and her staff have made us very welcome a and we wish them every access. Thank you for making us so welcome and I'm sure we will be making more visits in the future.

The staff in the pub were fine and we were amazed when the food was ready so fast. When we got back to our rooms and went to eat it about 10 minutes later the rice was a stodgy mess and the meats were dry and not a nice texture. It felt microwaved. Maybe we were unlucky but this is one place we will not be returning to.

My wife and I are on holiday in the area and were looking for somewhere to eat at 9 on a Sunday night - as you can imagine the number of places serving food was very limited but we decided to try the Rose Orchard and weren't disappointed.

Having ordered take aways from here in the past, called to order again tonight and was told it would only be cash on delivery! as they "were not allowed" to take card payment over the phone! Who these days does not take card payments? Be warned if want a take away .... have CASH! sorry i am local but will not be using again!!

Visited whilst exploring Collingham. Fantastic menu, very friendly and welcoming staff. For our main we shared a Mongolian lamb dish and scallops with asparagus - both meals were superb! Good value for money too - what more can you ask for (except - can you open a restaurant near me? )

Gradually ticking off places to eat around Newark so decided that a visit to the Rose Orchard Chinese Restaurant at Collingham was due. Had to go there very early so arrived at 5ish just as they were opening for business.

Went for an evening meal with 6 people The meal was well prepared and presented in fact there was so much to eat that we could not eat it all which was very unfortunate

Pleasant staff, great food and plenty of it, prompt service, and a nice place all round. Well worth a visit and we'll be back.

Spring rolls - greasy, and filled mostly with left over pre cooked chicken

We have previously had take-away delivered from here and thoroughly enjoyed them. The menu is varied and they are more than happy to alter dishes to taste e.g more chillies. They also cater well for food allergies/intolerance. We went with a group of friends and between us we had a number of things we couldn't eat but it was no problem. The dishes were good portions and the teenagers ordered more than they could eat so were given anything they wanted to keep in take-away tubs to have at home later!

I've been a few times and have always had a good meal. The food is of good quality and there's plenty of choice. They also offer a takeaway service with home delivery. Not overly expensive to eat in (cheaper for takeaway).

We had been missing a good local Chinese restaurant, we have visited twice now and have really enjoyed the food and hospitality. Will be going again soon!

Visited twice during visit to Lincoln Christmas Market and what a delight. Welcome as warm as the log fire and the food was great. Starters, mains and two rounds of drinks for four all for under £90.

We got a takeaway from here at the weekend and it was absolutely gorgeous! I normally don't like Chinese food as I find it gloopy. All the things we ordered were perfect. The vegetarian dishes in particular were stunning!

Lovely place, Megan the waitress was polite and attentive. Love the idea of having a drink in the bar before sitting down to eat, didn't feel rushed at all, food was hot and tasty.

Having a gluten intolerance in our group the waitress and staff at this restaurant were superb. We made the waitress aware as soon as we sat down and she made us fully aware of what he could eat and what he couldn't. Short wait for food after ordering and everything was hot. Very tasty and good quality. WI'll definitely be coming back.

We all fancied a Friday night treat ... rang ... placed order ... 25mns later it was ready to collect! And the food was gorgeous! Particularly recommend the Mongolian lamb! Hot but bursting with flavours! Exquisite!

This is our favorite Chinese restuarant the service and the food is the very best in Lincolnshire my only disappointment is we live in Witham st Hughs and not Collingham, As we would go there a lot more. The residents of collingham are very lucky to have this great restuarant on there door step. I really hope that rose orchard is here to stay thank you to Rose and all the staff Keith.

I called to place my order and the person who answered the phone couldn't hear me due to all the noise behind her, and then said my postcode wasn't on her system so had to painfully shout my entire address. Though it arrived early, hot and was really lovely I've had takeaway just as nice ALOT cheaper. I was really suprised that the crispy shredded chicken was fairly mind despite the warning on the menu, when the black bean sauce (normally safe) blew my socks off! I think I'm going to continue to use the other Chinese in the village... Wouldn't recommend this unless sitting in.

This is the second time we have been to this Restaurant and both times we have received the shameful response. Each time the waitress wrote down no fish apparently including prawn or anything from lakes or sea.

The cheapest house wine at around £16 a bottle is far to much for an inexpensive meal . £11 to £12 pound would be more like it . The food and service is good

Both my wife and I celebrated our 30th anniversary at this wonderful restaurant last night. Nothing but praise for the staff and the excellent food. We both went for Banquet C, which exceeded our expectations in taste and presentation. Loads of delicious food, which we could not finish and were delighted to have a take away with what was left for us to have today, which saved making another meal! We will definately be going back soon. Very highly recommended. Deryth and Tony.

A light, clean, well ordered restaurant, with friendly, capable staff. The food arrives piping hot, and in decent sized portions. A varied and large menu and a wine list for non lotto winners. This restaurant is new on the scene, but I hope it is sticking around for a long while. Well done Rose Orchard !

Thought we'd give it a try. The food was good, service very good and no real issues. The space between the rows of tables is a bit tight when seats occupied bu this was same when it was the pub. Quality and quantity was good, all hot. Would recommend. A bit pricier than would have expected but worth it.

service very poor, ordered set meal for 2 received one part of the main course before the starter then after asking received everything thing at the same time told the "chef" had made a mistake, ordered a bottle of wine Chilean Merlot ,bottle said wine of the usa ! just placed on the table, main courses cold by the time we got to them ,made comments when we went to pay but no real interest said don't know how that happened that is £53.50 ! paid went won't bother again.

As we had been out all day and didn't fancy cooking when we got home, we thought we would try the Rose Orchard. What a good idea that turned out to be. It was better than we had hoped for! The food was delicious . We had a full three course meal (we do not normally indulge in the full works) it was superb from start to finish!!! The service was also second to none. We will definitely be enjoying food from here again .
