New chef is doing amazing food, we went on Thursday and all 6 had different meals and raved about it.

New management team doing really well, great atmosphere a proper country pub. Food exceptional and great service.

Wow what a gem. Claire, Jamie and Natasha gave us such a warm welcome. Beautiful surroundings and atmosphere. We had a fish and fizz meal that was divine. Cooked to perfection by Rob the chef. I had two courses my husband three. The sea trout with a beetroot risotto worked so beautifully together. I tried my husbands lobster first taste of lobster for me delicious. We heard other tables saying how delicious their meal was. Well looked after by everyone Natasha was attentive and friendly. We will be back.

I stayed for 2 nights at the Rose & Crown, Tilton, accommodation and ate in the pub restaurant both nights. Clare and Jamie offer a welcoming, comfortable and excellent experience, with first class restaurant food by chef Rob, of MasterChef distinction. All highly recommended

One of the best pubs I've been for a long time

We had a fantastic Sunday roast, the staff were really friendly and welcoming. There's a great play park next to the carpark that kept the kids happy and they were very welcoming to the dogs.

We had a fabulous night with friends, we all had 3 courses and lots of flowing wine, the food was delicious and presented beautifully. The staff were wonderful and nothing was to much trouble for them. We cant wait to go back again!

I booked a weekend away in the village for my partner as a birthday surprise and he revealed to me soon after that he was wanting to watch the rugby! I did some research and I’m so happy that we came across the Rose & Crown. The owners reserved us a table to dine & watch the rugby next to the log fire - it was amazing. They went out of their way to dress the table and made us feel welcome. We were informed that there was a new chef & I can honestly say hand on heart it’s one of the tastiest meals out we’ve ever had. The toffee pudding was out of this world! Thank you so much for your hospitality. Would 100% recommend. The pub had a lovely rustic feel & everyone was warm and welcoming!

Never judge a book by its cover we was in the area to remember our work colleague who sadly passed one week ago in your area tragically - absolutely disgusting - if you are passing and want to stop of for a great meal - friendly welcome highly recommend the Queens head (thank you guys for welcoming us)

New landlord this summer, really friendly, good pub food, good beer, cider, wine etc. Can eat outside in the marquee even if you buy a pizza from the local pizza van! Good country pub with good atmosphere during this summer.

Ate at Rose and Crown tonight All our meals were delicious The fish was extremely fresh I had chicken curry which was lovely The child portion of fish and chips was generous and devoured by granddaughter Beans and tomato ketchup added as well Our fourth dinner was steak pie Under new management very friendly hosts well done you have made your mark already

Amazing food , Amazing staff , Aaron the manager is brilliant at his job! So kind friendly! Martin the owner has a great team working for him ! We had my dad s 86th Surprise birthday buffet at the Rose and Crown the food was amazing! 2nd to none! Feel so proud of how it all went Thank you all so so much ! Couldn’t have asked for a better day.. Also had fathers day at the Rose and Crown Delicious especially the roast potatoes yummy and delicious desserts.

The meal was excellent. The dining area very nice and relaxed. The staff were very friendly and always helpful. Plenty of parking. A most enjoyable meal at a fair price.

We made an unplanned visit to the Rose & Crown for Sunday lunch, and was pleasantly surprised. The portion sizes were very generous and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. They run a limited menu on Sundays, but that's not a problem if you like a good roast. It was very quiet, so the service we experienced was great. Cheers!

Nothing like the Rose & Crown that I remember, seems to have lost its atmosphere, just another plastic pub now since its refurb, beer was ok but I wouldn't go out of my way for any more. Shame really as it used to be a cracking little village pub.

Not a good meal had to send it back.

Been this lunchtime, (Saturday 26th February 2022) 5 of us three adults and two kids, lovely meal, good sized portions good friendly service and good price, only downside was that there was no heating on in the place when we got there.

Lovely local pub and restaurant with great food and friendly staff. Food was excellent especially the steaks, a specialty of the chef I was told. The staff ensured our table of 10 were well taken care of on a busy Friday evening.

Nice rooms but no room Internet or general info not there. Food is a interesting one, pub restaurant open spasmodic hours which is a closely guarded secret yes ha ha, was BH weekend but that's when most use it, no info in rooms and breakfast well a £10 box ?( not recommended by manager) or shop across road open 7.30 we are informed ha ha.open 8.00 to 8.30 Ifj you are lucky.HA Monday NO FOOD so a drive to GREGGS they were open BUT again no info in room the menus and opening time ? If you won't a room yes but a room and food No.

Sunday dinner, most of it was just luke warm and the Yorkshires were completely black! We asked if the kitchen had any not so black the response was another plate of burnt offerings. Won't be going back!

We decided to take friends to The Rose and Crown for Sunday lunch, very disappointed, uninviting service, cold mashed potatoes and burnt Yorkshire. Plus burnt over cooked lasagne. Very poor. Won't return.

Great food in a classic country pub. Coping very well with covid measures too. Definitely worth a visit.

New head chef means excellent food for a fab price! Wednesday night was steak night meaning it was 2 rumps for £18! There were also plenty of other meals available and basket meals for if you were sat outside in the courtyard. Couldn't fault the food. The manager seemed a bit scattered but the rest of the serving team were attentive and friendly. Overall a fab visit. Will definitely be returning!

Poor - lunch for 24 people cost £9 per head for a bowl of watery tomato soup with far too much pepper added and a boring cheese sandwich made with supermarket brown bread.

Really lovely little country pub, friendly helpful bar staff, reasonably priced, large open fire (currently out of service due to a chimney fire) bit cold but being dealt with. Food was lovely. We had two jacket spuds, prawn Marie rose - loads of prawns ! And a good selection of salad with it, he had cheese and beans, both delish! approx £6 ish each. Good size portion for lunch. Will defo go again. 👍

Call themselves 'grill on the hill' but it's mediocre. Unattentive staff getting orders wrong. Lack of table service. Wouldn't go back - many places doing it far better.

we visited this lovely recently reopened pub last night and although the restaurant was quiet, we were served an excellent meal. The management had warned us that they were still awaiting their alcohol licence but this was no problem as we were able to bring our own. The food was excellent and we shall CERTAINLY recommend this restaurant to our friends and return ourselves. I had the cod loin which was as good a cod loin as I have ever had - well done to the chef. The staff were very friendly and polite and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening thank you

Lovely inside, no alcohol license which we knew about no problem. You can take your own. Menu limited it was mainly Sunday lunch but again not a problem. Beef, lamb, chicken, steak & ale pie, fish & chips. We ordered, I asked for chicken but it had all gone. I'm not a fussy eater but I don't eat red meat, don't like it. The owner checked but had run out of chicken & I felt like it was my fault. I ended up with veg sausages, my friend with fish&chips. A sorry was all we got, also read the menu as all roasties are cooked in goose fat. Desserts were quite basic but tasty. My goddaughter had a warm brownie with honeycomb ice cream but it was just vanilla. Enough food & 2 courses for £15 ish, nicely cooked & presented also clean & modern toilets. Just felt as customers we were only money.1st visit disappointed maybe have to go earlier but we had booked & run out of chicken, an everyday product by 5pm? When we paid we weren't even offered a free drink as a gesture. A shame as very convenient meeting place for our group.

A great 'new' pub; new (and better) owners

Recently reopened after refurbishment. Seems to be focused on dinners. Bar area is a bit of a thoroughfare and not conducive to drinking.

The previous tenants have now left the Rose & Crown - in the middle of the night! I believe they were totally disillusioned with their landlords who had promised all sorts of improvements which never happened e.g. new car park, refurbished toilets. The pub looks very run down and the decor leaves a lot to be desired - the furniture is poor and the worn carpet highlighted with slug trails. Also, the pub is quite cold and damp. I also believe the private accommodation was condemned as unsafe by the fire officer so can't blame them for worrying about their safety. Would suggest you avoid this pub until it is (if ever) under new ownership.
