Best chow mein ever 😋

This is my favourite Chinese takeaway, but it's very frustrating having to wait an hour for your order, which happens occasionally. There is also no point in ordering over the phone because it's never ready when they say it will be.

Congratulations on the Prawn Crackers. The rest of the meal was rubbish. King prawn egg foo wang was a joke. Largest prawn was smaller than my thumbnail. I finally found the beef in the blackbean sauce. Second time in last couple of months to be grossly disappointed. But, it will be the last. I've been a customer for over 15 years and sad to say you are finished.

Ordered a large order £45 worth over the phone to collect (they don't deliver) waited 20 mins drove 8 miles to collect it . Got to counter to pay to be told cash only. No mention of that over the phone. I said OK walked out and went over the road to Canton and ordered from their and it was slightly cheaper. Won't be going back to Chengs now on principle of wasting my time .

Chengs garden is by far and away the best Chinese takeaway in the area. We travel from Barwell to use Chengs. The food is always hot, very tasty, good quality and generous portion sizes

Food is amazing I would give that 5*. When calling they seem very slow on the phone sounds like a robot taking your order! and they give you a time for how long it will take for example. 45mins (which is fine) but you get there and everytime I have had to wait a further 20 maybe 30 mins atleast for my Food! Which isn’t very good!

One of the worst Chinese I've ever had the pleasure of visiting, first time was a family order where ordered food was missing the lady had the audacity to say my father in law was lying even though he showed the amount charged vs what we received, I stupidly returned unbeknownst to order some salt and pepper chilli wings-after waiting 30 minutes I got home to find my order wasn't in fact chicken wings it was salt and pepper chilli chicken. Avoid.

Let's start with the good and that's the food. Really tasty food, plentiful and flavourful. Everything tasted fresh and Hot, that's a must!! There is slight downers with it though. I asked for my curry to be extra spicy and it wasn't. Chips were slightly over cooked and maybe a little old, ( If you get my drift). Now the bad, I placed my order by phone at 6.30pm was told collection would be ready for 8pm. I didn't mind, wasn't in a rush. I get there for 8pm and made to wait a further 30mins, that's not acceptable. IMO. 4* OVERALL. Will order again surprisingly.

Very yummy chinese, worth a visit!

Never had a take away from here before but was advised to try it . Food was hot and exactly how it was described, tasty and plentiful .

Meal for three very good, one star off kept me waiting 15 minutes.

Food is delicious, service is always friendly. Also very good variety of choices on the menu.

Certainly nothing wrong with the food, but they can be very misleading with the wait times when it gets busy (typically Saturday night) , such as having to wait almost 45 minutes longer than they told you it would be.

Chicken omelette was grey and not very nice tasting, won't be going back there!

Ordering and queing system non existant, ordered at 6 pm told 7.15 pm, 14 people told the same, left at 8 pm with nothing!

Haven't had a takeout during the lockdown and this was amazing. Can't wait for another one as soon as!!! Had to obviously wait outside but was worth it :)

Excellent Chinese cuisine for take away

They make great, delicious food, definitely recommended to try! There are many different varieties of dishes and sides to choose from, and also is very clean. Certainly the best takeaway in the area, I will most definitely be coming back here to order again!

They don't take card payment - a bit strange considering the location.

Not impressed at all! Rang chengs before ordering to see if they cater for ceoliac disease (our daughter has just been diagnosed at the age of 5) they confirmed they do and I asked what they had that was gluten free they told me chicken chow main could be made up for her and prawn crackers totally gluten free so i ordered and paid went to collect an confirmed if it was 100% gluten free for them to tell me no it's not and they can only give her chicken and rice as an alternative. It's hard enough telling her that everything she wants she cant have to eat without having to tell her that yes she can have chow mein then get back and give her chicken and rice no flavouring or anything very unhappy parents and one very unhappy 5 year old to. Unacceptable! No apology nothing I said wont be going back there and he just said ok!

After being highly recommended by a lot of people, I decided to finally try something from here, and safe to say those people weren't wrong. I ordered the beef in the cantonese sauce which was really delicious! and a portion of chips to go along which have to be some of the best chips I've had from a chinese takeaway! I would definitely come back again, 100%!

Very nice Chinese meal. I especially recommend the Singapore chowmein. We just wanted a small meal but they still delivered (£1.50 to the same village). Speedy delivery too
