Watching the Six Nations while trying out the new food. Atmosphere is friendly and the food is top quality. I had the smoke house burger, and it was stacked and delicious. My wife had the crispy chicken and again it was as advertised, super crispy and great flavour. 5 stars- Would recommend

Been twice to this cracking ‘proper pub’ in Larkhall, beautifully furnished, friendly and quick service with a great selection of beers and wines. Lovely friendly atmosphere with plenty of dogs and families plus solo drinkers, it’s the perfect village pub. Sunday lunch is really well done, great portions, good but not huge choice and some of the best roast Potatoes in town, had shoulder of lamb today and the Porchetta a couple of weeks back, both delicious and generous portions. Highly recommended

Came in for dinner on Sat after the rugby so it was really busy. Felt like a proper pub. Amazing food really nice choices for veggie and seasonal stuff, as it was so busy the service was a little slow, but we didn’t mind as it meant my friend and I had time to catch up. Would definitely love an excuse to come back.

Visited on a cold, wet night - the welcome couldn't have been warmer. We had the most delicious beef stew with colcannon, served promptly, cooked to perfection. Shame that the coffee machine was broken, but a portion of ice cream more than compensated! Excellent value, lovely atmosphere. Only problem was in finding it, just had to rely on the satnav due to the number of one way streets, & parking isn't easy, but worth the effort. One of our nicest meals out for ages!

Just visited and met with the co owner and her dog Noodles. So impressed with her professionalism and ability to remain calm when having a range of roles. Thanks for making us so welcome. Just sad we haven’t visited sooner. Trish & Chris -

A nice English pub where you can eat well, service is excellent

Gorgeous place. We went with friends from the area and were made to feel very welcome. The entire place is immaculate, and drinks served in proper glasses! They have lots of board games for kids. We really enjoyed a few hours in here with our 6 year old daughter. We'll definitely be back on our next visit.

Unfortunately the kitchen was closed and so we were forced to eat elsewhere. However the landlord was unbelievably apologetic and gave us some local recommendations. We had a quick drink before we left

Had Mother’s Day lunch there today very very good and service excellent . Was also there last month which made us want to go back and we will go back again.

Went for meal before seeing a show at the Rondo. Food was delicious, good choice of ciders and the landlord very friendly. Would definitely eat here again.

Quite a small neighbourhood pub looking after the locals in Larkhall. Quite dark and cosy inside, friendly staff and nice range of drinks. Woukd recommend

Friendly local pub with a super fun pub quiz to keep patrons entertained. It's a shame their kitchen is under renovation as we were looking forward to sampling their pub grub.

The bartender was very polite and friendly. He had to deal with a few issues he was having,the WiFi was giving him problems and it's connected to the register. But like myself took it all in my stride and all the customers (not too many, big celebration in the town of Bath itself) were all good,and met a couple of customers. I had thought they might have food,but at that time they were not serving food. Would definitely return one day to have another memorable experience.

How on earth has the bearded guy who served me at the Rose and Crown on Sunday been allowed to take a customer facing job? Very very rude and such a shame to have a presence like that in a lovely place like Larkhall.

New ownership. This place is definitely the coolest place to go in Bath. Attractive bar staff, warm welcome, lovely crowd. Faultless. Owner, Warren, trained under Christophe de Tew, Paris..so Michelin trained. Food, sadly, not on because hes preparing ..not to disappoint. Go there..you will not reget

Lovely, warm and very welcoming...Nige, the owner, was a great host, the locals were very friendly, and the food was more-ish! The Vegetarian and Vegan options were impressive and the service was great. I'll definately pop by again, regardless of the distance between Bath and Newcastle 🙂

Fantastic food and great atmosphere! We booked in for New Years and unfortunately had to cancel due to sick children and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. Definitely recommend for a great meal!!

We were only in Bath for the weekend, this place was highly recommended by the Airbnb owner and it didn't disappoint. We loved the gin menu, and the inspired take on classic dishes. Great service too!

Lovely cosy pub with good food. A great place to enjoy a few beers (a good selection on tap, often with a guest beer or two), decent long narrow bar at the front for a busy atmosphere and traditional restaurant area round the back. They serve good fresh lunches (Sunday roast is superb) and it’s family and dog friendly.

Amazing find. We were delighted to discover this warm and friendly pub when we came to the area for a trip to the local theatre. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I have specific dietary needs and they were wonderfully willing to accommodate me. The food was beautiful; utterly delicious and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere in the bar and restaurant was warm and friendly. We can't wait to come back again. Totally worth the drive. If you're in the area this place will absolutely make you happy. Be sure to book first to avoid disappointment. Thanks to all the staff for a lovely, lovely time.

Good beer good environment wonderful people

Booked last minute and lucky we did! Was really busy but despite this, the few staff working were really attentive and friendly. We were looked after by Nick who was absolutely fabulous. He was really friendly and looked after us without being too intrusive! Food was great and served really quickly given how busy it was. Would definitely recommend!

Small cosy pub with decent selection of beers.

Pub an Restaurant combination. Restaurant is towards the back and is comfortable and cozy. The menu had a little of everything and reasonably priced. Portions were large. Well prepared and delicious. Service was outstanding. Thanks to Nick for making this a memorable stop for a couple of foreigners on holiday.

So glad we tried out the Rose and Crown. Not just a friendly pub but served amazing food, well-cooked and presented using quality ingredients. Made to feel very welcome and left completely satisfied.

Excellent place to stay. Extremely clean, comfortable and very friendly owner. 20 mins to Bath city centre by bus where all the tourist attractions are within walking distance. Bus stop just right in front of the accommodation. The food here is excellent. We had the breakfast (full english and sourdough with salmon). Everything is so fresh a tasty.

Went for an evening meal as it was close to where we were staying and it had been recommended. Wish I had walked a bit further! Ordered our meal and they had only prepared 3 of the 4 mains. They told us there had been a mistake and that they would send down a bowl of chips for my son whilst his meal was being cooked. In the mean time tried my main and it was gritty! So they took my meal away to remake it, my partner and her daughter had to start as their food was now starting to go cold.They were half way through their meals before the chips even arrived and long finished by the time my fresh meal returned. As I was still eating my main, my partner her daughter and my son decided to have a dessert, which took an eternity to arrive, and once it did, whilst it looked nice enough lacked any manner of wow! The staff kept apologising and said that they would take those dishes off the bill, which they did. They also offered free drinks, which they ended up billing us for!Such a shame as the flavour of the main dishes was very good but I certainly won’t be gracing their establishment again.

So we booked a table and were told it was a bbq only menu which we agreed was fine. Turned up and were told kitchen was closed! Really disappointed and even more so as had left a contact number and weren't informed- what sort of business is this?! Thank goodness chinese was open otherwise we would have been very hungry.

We can hardly believe the reviews on TripAdvisor for this pub. We booked a table for four people for Thursday, 18th July, following the good reviews and a recommendation. I’m not sure if it was an off-night when we went, but the food was mediocre and poor. The menu was just simple cafe food. The sample menu we read on-line was not on offer. Our table was squashed behind a door and very cramped.On the website, meals such as, lamb shank, seared sea bass, chicken breast were listed on the sample menu. Instead, we were offered ham, egg & chips, fish & chips, burgers, curry etc. The curry wasn’t a Madras, as listed, but really mild and not very good. The fish was mostly batter, with minimum fish inside. We were deeply disappointed and, based on this experience, could not recommend this place at all. The only compliment we could pay, is that the serving staff were very pleasant.It was our 50th wedding anniversary the following day and, thankfully, we weren’t eating at the Rose & Crown! Our daughter had made a call to the pub, at least, a week or so earlier, & explained the occasion and asked if they could make a special dessert. She asked for something with strawberries and cream and mentioned it would be nice to be able to put a candle in it. The woman she spoke to said it wouldn’t be a problem and she could get some candles from across the road. Our daughter arrived before us and asked the staff if they had arranged the dessert. The member of staff she asked knew nothing about it. The chef did try to offer various alternatives but the momentum and surprise was lost. We were brought a beer mug which contained a dessert similar to Eton Mess. We assumed they were trying to make amends but it was all too late. It wasn’t the celebratory meal we had envisaged, unfortunately.

Friendly service, open to families, good beers on draft, and very nice pub grub food. We had the BBQ evening with our party of seven, booked the table. It didn’t disappoint. Really a knocker, plentifully, the ribs where succulent, the steak per required cooking, sides coleslaw was excellent alongside the large salad dish. This could become a local anchor quickly.

This place was recommended by the B and B where I was staying and it certainly didn't disappoint. There seemed to be plenty of locals, so the atmosphere was great and very welcoming. The food was terrific. I'm gf which wasn't a problem.

Great little pub, about 15 minutes walk from where we're staying in Bath. Service was excellent and there's a good wine list. Food wise, everything was delicious, empty plates all around... Except maybe for the crumble. Huge portion but lacked a bit of flavour, maybe not enough butter in the crumble part? All in all a great evening, would recommend.

Lovely pub. Very nice young lady attended us, and suggested a veggie alternative for the burger night offer, which was lovely indeed. The gnocchi was good too. They also had Old Bristolion cider on draught 😊👍

Best place for food in Larkhall

We visited on Easter Sunday and had a pleasant experience. Everything as cooked well, I had a beef roast. The gnocci for the kids was excellent. We were happy with the price too, good value for money. We would definitely go back.

We’ve been here a couple of times for a drink and tonight we had a meal, it was amazing, the staff on were Chris the Manager, and the Chef was Sean, to be honest we couldn’t have had a more pleasant evening and the food was faultless. We will without doubt be back, we rate this establishment and give it a massive thumbs up.

The staff are great and very welcoming. Kids are welcome so it's not really a boozers pub. Can't beat it for a couple of pints.

Love this pub but please please don't allow vaping, especially when people are eating. Really unpleasant and puts me off returning to a genuinely lovely pub.

Husband and I had dinner in the pub during the Christmas/ NY dead time (a lot of restaurants seemed closed). The food was fantastic! I can't wait to make my own version of the black pudding mash. Looking forward to going back.

Warm, cosy restaurant area with lovely table decorations. Lots of delicious choices for all courses on the menu. The food was absolutely delicious as well as plentiful, we were a party of 10 and the service was excellent. It is a very relaxed atmosphere where the staff are very friendly and happy to help with any request. Our family all enjoyed the evening and were all very happy to have chosen The Rose and Crown for our Family Christmas meal.

Nice pub, bit cramped, music a tad too loud, good service, food was fine - good beef, but roast potatoes not great ( re-heated?/ slightly burnt). Would go again because its the best local pub, but wouldn't rave about the food.
