We had a great time here! Yummy food, great cocktails and great service! Made my birthday meal worth while thanks Sam!

We visited on a Sunday evening as we were staying at the Premier. It was very quiet (unlike other chains attached to Premiers). Website said restaurant shut at 10.30pm. Steaks £20 to £30 average, chicken skewer £22. Our Main courses good, waiter was really nice. Wine just under £30 a bottle. All was good until 9.30pm when a colleague slapped down the bill without asking. We had no opportunity to order desserts or coffee or proffer our blue light discount code, so they lost income as we would have had desserts. Not sure restaurants generally cash up an hour before closing! The waiter sorted the bill and I suggested nicely his colleague had some lessons in customer service. Another table had only just got their main meals so presumably they had the same issue. We took the rest of the wine and left.. and won't be rushing back there or to another in the chain in a hurry. Shame really could have been better.

Had a fantastic experience. Although I spilled a drink twice,Connor was the chap who served me and was very helpful and understanding. The roast beef dinner was fantastic...the beef cut like butter. The Espresso Martini was fab. Highly recommended

Excellent service by Sam and Lily. Extra effort on food quality and presentation by Michal. What could’ve been a very average visit to a multi-site operator was elevated to a really great overall experience on a cold Feb day. Well done and thank you, team. We will return.

Absolutely fab and we will be back! Olivia took such great care of us, in fact the whole team did. The portion sizes are spot on, and cooked to perfection. I was surprised by the starters which were absolutely fantastic!! We had the scallops, prawns and calamari and it was super tasty! For mains we picked the tasting platter with 4oz rump, sirloin and fillet. Given the flavour and portion sizes it was such great value and if you're keen to have bigger cuts then chefs can apparently cut to size so an extra bonus! We even had a bottle of bubbles and 2 cocktails (2for1!) and it came to a super reasonable price! Again, lovely team and experience, thanks team.

Stayed in the premier inn, had a lovely breakfast here, very organised a special shout out to Gemma and the team for amazing service. The chefs poached eggs were really nice too.

Couldn’t seat us as they were at capacity with only one table of people. Kinda felt like they had worked out a way of not working too hard

Me & my husband had lunch here today, we had 3 starters (scallops, chicken wings & burnt ends) then the chateaubriand steak meal for 2 and a side of truffle mac & Cheese, it was amazing, everything was cooked to perfection and was delicious, we have been here a few times before & although the menu has definitely reduced since last time we came so some of the items we had before that we wanted again wasnt available but this was by far the best meal we have had here and will definitely be returning again

We popped in on the off chance they could squeeze 8 of us in for lunch today and I’m SO glad they managed too! Nothing was too much trouble, even with the amount of people about with the Christmas market on. The food was spot on, service was fab and atmosphere was lovely too! Never had a bad meal here but today was exceptional ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Had a busy day shopping and were looking for a lovely hot meal. Were welcomed very quickly by the hostess on the door who showed us to our table, gave us menus and asked us about any allergies and gave us some sheets fully explaining about any ingredients which could cause allergies. We were then welcomed by a very friendly Pippa who took our drinks and meal order. We had a glass of lager and 2 for 1 cocktails which were on offer. Service was quick and the steak and chips meal was absolutely excellent, cooked to perfection and reasonably priced. The only downside was there were no peas on the menu. If you are in Bath and want a quick and delicious meal, definitely try Bar and Block.

myself and a friend visited here for bottomless brunch on 03/12/24 and i must say that everything was perfect! from Sams professional and friendly service at the table to Lily on the bar mixing the most delicious Pornstar Martinis, we really couldn't have asked for a better experience. The food was top tier, the Festive burger exceeding my expectations. Again thanks all for the hard work and wonderful experience!!!

My daughter and I love a nice fillet steak so bar & block seemed the ideal place, jeez was I wrong, both our steaks were cold in the middle, my daughter had the 12oz which was £38:00 and I had the 8oz which was £30.00, we had it returned to the kitchen for extra cooking (which we shouldn't of had to in the first place) I'm sure they just left it under the lights?? When it returned to us, it was still cold and my daughters steak was smaller again. We were not happy, so we kindly explained we were not going to eat it but we will pay for the drinks and sides and leave. My daughter was absolutely gutted, as she never likes to make a fuss, but I am trying to teach her, when your paying £38:00 for a steak you should always expect it to be perfect.

Bristol City Centre. It was Dreadful! I took my daughter last night for her birthday, prawns and fish were over cooked and in a very strange sauce, the potatos tasted like they had been in the fridge for too long, the steak had to be sent back...we asked for medium rare and got rare and very cold in the middle. No seasoning on anything. The waitress and the drinks were the only good things about the night. £106 for a dreadful meal, I am so angry!! As it was my daughters birthday I didn't want to cause fuss so I just paid!!

One of the best premier inn restaurants there is in my opinion. These can be a bit hit and miss at times, but this one is definitely a hit. The chefs always do a great job cooking the breakfast items (crispy hash browns). The staff are friendly and always greet you with a smile and the place is always clean. The only downside would be how popular it is as it does get quite busy, but that's more of a testament to how good this place is.

If you want your food to look and taste like it was in a dumpster fire, this is the place for you. Also don't expect much from the waiting staff, they clearly want to be there less than you will after 30 mins.

Best premier breakfast we have ever had, we've been a few times now so it's not s fluke. Bacon is griddled rather than baked and has a lovely BBQ taste. All food was lovely and service always very friendly. We love breakfast here.

My family attended on Monday 28th October (8 adults, 7 children) for a 40th birthday meal. The food was sublime, staff extremely attentive, patient and polite. Prices very reasonable. BUT get yourselves someway to be tipped by card! Noone carries cash anymore and you all deserve large tips. X

Can't go wrong with a premier inn breakfast!

I ate steak for dinner I was able to enjoy it even by myself due to the very kind customer service from the staff. The taste is delicious and I recommend it!

Started off really well, nice welcome, good table and some strange beef coated popcorn was served water, good start, but had to wait 30-45 mins for drinks (only 7 tables in) wrong starters came, but got sorted quite quickly, then main course was great. Just lacks a level of due care and attention.

We went on a quiet day for a friends birthday, and we celebrated it with a bottomless brunch. And I have to say that Connor is the top shagger! He was a beast when it came to serving us. He served us so well we don't remember anything but a good time. Sam also was great after Connor left. Lee's pornstars (martinis) tasted immaculate. The food was top notch and the quality of insane. Bottomline: One of the best places to have steak and amazing cocktails at.

We were excited to try a steak place we hadn’t been before last week. As a group of 5 guys we had a range of steaks. One had the ribeye, 2 had the meat mix board and 2 off us had rump. Sides includes things like burnt ends, salad and onion rings. My rump I asked for medium rare, it was pretty close to well done. The salad was nice on the side and garlic mushrooms. However I paid £10 to add scallops and prawns (£6 each or £10 combined). I received 2 prawns and 2 scallops. Steep price for so little. The steak itself was hard, rather chewy and pretty bland. The same for the ‘garlic butter’ seafood. It had little to no taste. My friends all said the same with their food that it was average and not the best. My friend was disappointed with his burnt ends especially. In all the cost is too high in comparison to the quality of the food. My food came to £44 (only had water to drink) and others paid similar around £45-50 with tip. You could go elsewhere and get better. I would say it was on the same level as a steak at a harvester. It was a real shame.

Absolutely the best sandwich ever had! I had the lunch time Open Club Sandwich! It was incredible. Service was great but we were the only 2 people in at lunch. I would definitely return. Loved it.

Good food, with a good range on the menu and all the items we ordered were available. The complimentary pot of savoury popcorn was very tasty too. Great service.

Fantastic meal tonight, great atmosphere and fantastic service from Lily this evening, as a coeliac having a proper cheesecake for the first time in over 4 years made my night! Brilliant gluten free menu with lots of choice., Lily noticed our cocktails didn't look correct so took them off the bill and replaced them free of charge, as well as really chatting to us and making us feel so welcome and happy in our experience here. Will definitely return.

Lily was totally awesome she was attentive and professional , very friendly and just lovely. We had a really nice lunch and this was all down to the service Lily provided

Great place for night out in Bath

The food wasn't very good - steak quite tough and not triple cooked chips. Nobody asked during our meal if OK and nobody asked when the plates were taken or when paying the bill 🤔 disappointing as we have eaten at other locations and always had good food and service.

Fab service.. excellent food Really lovely experience, they even seated us where we wanted .,.. really felt catered for and also managed to use an old voucher 30% off!!! Er wow!

Not 100% recommend the tacos. Steaks are nice! Mac and cheese are delicious too!

What an incredible meal, as always! Lee B served us today and we had brilliant service as usual. We are always made to feel welcome, served with a smile and given lovely food. Lee and Gemma are always stars of the show when we are here and they are serving!

We had the Chateaubriand for two and it was absolutely delicious. The staff were attentive and friendly. The chocolate torte was also very good. Highly recommend.

The Bar +Block in Bath is one of the nicest places we have had a Breakfast, Staff are really nice, Food as Always 10/10 AMAZING and lastly from our experience a nice chilled out relaxing atmosphere 😀

Went last night, me and my partner normally go to miller and carter but thought we would try here, As it's roughly the same price we thought it would be the same. We were very wrong. My partner had a fillet at medium and came out blue. We sent it back to be recooked and came out black on the outside. The server even said it's really undercooked. The crazy thing is that it was empty inside so cannot understand why it was sent out way to quickly.It's also linked to the premier inn next door so not really good for a nice night out with your partner. We had kids being very loud and chucking food around next to us. £75 for 2 steaks and a drink each isn't bad but would say it was worth half as the steak quality wasn't great. Service was okay. Nothing special. Please go to miller and carter it's alot better Very disappointed.

For a restaurant adjacent to a premier inn this has to be the most pretentious one I've ever visited, couldn't even work the menu out at first and the pricing ££££ was stupid, and don't think I'm being petty, I stay in premier inn's all week all over the country, but I'll leave on a plus note, rite next door on the other side of the hotel, there's a WETHERSPOONS 👍🤣👍🤣

I love this place! Beautiful environment, always clean, nice music, relaxed, great food, price, service and lovely staff. Ticks every box and does it well! Visiting almost every week for breakfast.

Had another fantastic meal at the bar and block. We were served by Gemma who is so friendly and efficient. We were a party of 4 adults and 2 children. We all had steaks which were cooked to perfection. The children’s menu has lots of choices and very reasonably priced. Cannot fault the place. !

If your entire brand is steak you should serve really good steak. Although we asked for rare, the steak was cold. Broccoli was under cooked and strangely dry. Mushrooms and chips were the best things. But the entire plate would have been good value for money if the steak part of it had been good. This is my second time coming here. And I can confirm it's okay. But I would hope to have my steak served hot like when I cook it at home. Just cause I asked for rare doesn't mean it should be cold. As a steak place they need to invest in some different salts as the bland salt doesn't help to bring out the full taste of it. Anyone knows steak has coarse salt as a seasoning. Other than their sides being very strong and well cooked their main dish was subpar.

We had a booking yesterday and our server Pippa was amazing, she was at hand for any of our needs and made our experience very good even though it was a large booking and can be more tricky. She was also able to split the bill individually and made it easy for all!

We sat down to eat and service were very slow, I ordered the halloumi fries and cheeseburger. The halloumi fries came out with no dip and had been deep fried to an inch of their life. Then I saw my burger under the hot lamp for a long time while 1 of the 2 staff members stood around not doing anything then I saw a bloke get up and have to ask for a beer (he had been sat down waiting for a while) after the man got his beer out food finally came over and was placed down before the waitress started to run off and I had to get her attention to get some mayo. The burger was very bland and it's not like the chef was rushed off his feet with a total of 5 tables in when we left and only 3 tables including us when we ordered

I stayed at the Premier Inn and went to Bar+Block for our dinner. We were served by Pippa, and had a delicious meal! I had the sausages, my husband had a burger and our son had chicken and chips. The food was delicious, and wonderfully cooked (kudos to the chef/cooking team!), but surpassing that was the customer service by Pippa and every staff member there - absolutely phenomenal service! Friendly, professional, knowledgeable, went out of their way to help us a number of times, and put us at ease!! All staff are a credit to the business!

Had an amazing meal with family it was amazing the waitress lilly did brilliantly she was so helpful an even made sure my daughter had everything she needed an even made her feel more part of the night by offering her a special mocktail off menu while we had cocktails and she loved it ..we will be back again an hopefully on a day she is there...thank you lilly for your politeness an all your service tonight

Came here as a relatively large group (13). Most of our group eat meat and I am reliably informed the steak is excellent. As a vegetarian- there are some limited options that are vegan and vegetarian and they are very good for a steak restaurant. They have made an effort to put items on the menu that aren't just grill item too, there are some Indian inspired dishes on there at the moment. Atmosphere was decent. Decorated nicely and feels slightly nicer than a typical high street chain. Price reflects this. Service was a bit of a let down. Our server was quite brash, his didn't make us feel very welcome and he was quite sarcastic- I think he may have meant this in good will but he came across as really not enjoying having to serve us. My colleague arrived late and was greeted in a rude way by the same person and asked to give her drinks order immediately. We gave our drinks and food order but then weren't checked in on for the rest of the evening. We would have loved to have ordered further drinks and desserts but nobody spoke to us again until payment. Upsides of service is that it was prompt and accurate. And all of the deals were applied correctly. Would come again if I was a meat ester and in a smaller group.

Best bottomless brunch in Bath!!

Great steak & chips! I had the sirloin, my son had the fillet - both were cooked to perfection. We both agreed they were amongst the best steaks we’ve had. Loved the chunky chips too. We also had fried squid for starters which was really tasty. Very friendly staff. Would definitely eat there again.

Absolute rip off sent a medium steak back twice first time was absolutely cremated second time was blue ordered a mac and cheese which never arrived left early as i ate all my food while girlfriend didn't eat a thing would not recommend absolute joke

The restaurant is very nice. Unfortunately the staff seemed very sullen, and not very welcoming. My date ordered a mojito which was far too watery. We asked for it to be changed and it came back no better and no further inquiries. The starters was good, but the chateaubriand was terrible. We ordered medium rare and it came back with the outside well done, and inside medium. The meat was also quite dry, and the spinach was very soggy. Would not recommend

We had a couple of last evening drinks and breakfast as we were staying in the hotel. It was ok and what you'd expect. It was busy in the evening with locals people seemed to be having a good time.

We just had cocktails, no food. They were very tasty. Good service. Book I advance as tables are all reserved!

Firstly if your charging £100 + for two people to dine you except a top quality meal that was far from what we got. We travelled to bath for the weekend and really wanted a steak night! After reading reviews this looked like the place to go, we were very wrong. I don’t leave a lot of reviews but don’t want people making the disappointing, expensive mistake we did! For starters we ordered Mac and cheese bites were average, salt and pepper squid which simple didn’t have any squid in it and finally beef burnt ends which were the best things about the meal! Then the main course came I had the sirloin steak asked to be cooked medium, my partner had the ribeye steak asked to be cooked medium - rare. When my steak came out firstly I noticed was the height of it, it was about 6inches high and not very wide and looked very charred on the outside, my partners was like an piece of cardboard and looked anaemic. When cutting in to our steaks mine was rare in the middle well done on the edges and extremely dry and simply tasteless and extremely charred on the outside, it wasn’t good. My partner’s who asked for a medium rare, was cooked well done it was also tasteless, looked like a bit of thin cardboard it was disgusting. The sides were average at the best, triple cooked chips which were clearly only cooked once! Onion rings had a very strong taste of beer and the pieces of onion were nearly not existent, truffle mac and cheese which was actually pretty good. So to sum up, the staff in the restaurant were super friendly, we got 25% discount off our meal when complaining about the cooking of the steaks. The food when you’re charging top prices not worth it, this place is just a glammed up harvester serving worse food.

Rude unhelpful staff, namely lady with the rainbow lanyard. Situated at the bottom of a premier inn that says it all, didn’t bother ordering food as we decided it wasn’t for us within sitting down for 5 minutes.

Not really good, we ordered two lambs chops medium rare, arrived well done, to much well done!

Service was slow, took a long time to get a drink order taken and then took even longer to get the bill even after plates had been cleared. Brisket burger was very average, and the fries weren't particularly great and not hot. Seemed very pop de ping for restaurant prices.

The meals & desserts were fabulous 👌 My wife and I both had the Big Block Burger & my son had the Classic burger. All 3 were cooked to perfection. The waitress Lily was so friendly & welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. I would rate this 6* if possible. Highly recommend this place. We were here 15/2/24

Please note this is part of the premier inn, we visited due to good reviews on tripadvisor, but at £100 for two people it was very lacking. I ordered my fillet steak rare and with scallops, both were tough, hugely over cooked. The ‘signature sauce’ was also strange and very vinegary (and I am a huge fan of vinegar). Service was good, although the waitress did admit the prices for what you get are a bit silly. Portions were small and overcooked. Very much harvester with high class steak restaurant pricing, we’ve seen some top rated places with the same price points.

Food was fairly average, this place is actually part of a premier inn the two different entrances are deceiving. For the price they charge you'd have thought the food would be a lot better than it actually was. Service was decent and was able to get a discount but this food was definitely not worth the price tag could make better at home.

We had a lovely meal for my Birthday here, the atmosphere was amazing and we had amazing service from Hannah who served us. The food was beautiful, steaks were cooked perfectly and Hannah took care of all of our requests! Thank you!
