Popped in for coffee and a roll today. I was asked to take a seat and they would clear table and take my order. I waited 20 minutes, but none of the two girls came near me, but chatted at length with other customers. Another customer came in, sat beside me and had his table cleared and order taken. I left, but did speak to one of the staff who claimed they thought I had already had my food. No apology was proffered. I know we can all make mistakes, but we need to own them. Great shame, as I had coffee there many times.

Writing this review as I sit in the cafe. This is the nicest vibe I've experienced in a cafe in Glasgow/surroundings, the two girls serving are super upbeat and nice. Haven't tried the food yet but with that attitude, I'm sure it'll be lovely 😊

Hill Hart Cafe, run and owned by Robin and Sarah is without doubt the most friendly and popular stop over in a land of cafes. Sarah is a very gifted artist and her beautiful animal paintings help to enliven a cafe that is more of a welcoming meeting-place for friends than just a stop over for food and drinks. Immaculately clean and also staffed by a transatlantic and South African bevy of beauties, Alison and Amber, not to mention gifted screen writer Olivia, Hill Hart is never empty, in fact it is always full of laughter and attentiveness, a caring homely Hill Hart at the heart of the Bearsden Community just north of Glasgow. Excellent coffee (Robusta bean lovers will appreciate it). A lovely selection of cakes and light meals. I have only complaint: it allows dogs. I do love dogs but in an enclosed environment the smell was palpable. I know I am not alone in this, as our rather large walking group has decided to bypass this little gem despite my efforts. However, in these days of wokeness one is often discouraged from the obvious but it is a really disappointing feature. The Staff are lovely and very engaging and wonderfully welcoming.

Best run and friendly little cafe in Bearsden

We had a lovely lunch at this charming cafe, but without realizing it, I left a scarf (with special significance) hanging on the back of my chair. I sent a message and Sarah let me know that, yes, the scarf was still there. Unfortunately I was heading back to Canada the next day so Sarah VERY KINDLY offered to mail it back to me. The scarf has just arrived and I am so grateful to have it back! I'm so impressed by Sarah's kindness and willingness to take the time to package and send my beloved scarf. I'm sure many other people will enjoy their visit to Hillhart Coffee for the excellent food and atmosphere, but I also wanted them to know that the person running it has a heart of gold.

Excellent coffee, staff are fab and food is great. It’s the noisiest Godamn place to sit in though. It’s a small coffee shop and makes way more noise than a place 5 times the size. Terribly loud bad music, shouty voices, dogs barking, never mind the noise of cutlery and drinks being made. It’s a vexation. Get take away or earphones. (I am aware it may just have been noisy the few times I’ve been in and perhaps has a more agreeable ambience at other times.)

A large group of us rocked up unexpectedly and they were extremely accommodating. I wouldn't have blamed them for being a bit stressed or refusing us all, but they made it seem simple and they were very friendly. Not only were the vegan options tasty and varied, but the portion sizes were very generous - many places offer the minimal amount of food possible. For example, my breakfast roll contained a lot of avocado and two potato scones. Most places would have been far less generous. The 2 people working there were friendly and helpful throughout. Overall it was the best café experience I have had in years!

Anything is better than a international chain outlet. This cafe has a very homely feel with very good lunch options. It's not gourmet coffee but with options to sit or outside we enjoyed our lunch here. Service was pleasant and friendly and the food tasty.

Food was fantastic the soup was so tasty and the club sandwich I had was delicious. Would like to say also that the girl who was working when I went in couldn’t have been any nicer she really makes it a joy to pop in. Was my first time visiting and I’ll be back very soon.

I called in for a 'Carry Out' Tuna Cheese and Onion' Sandwich and bought Two small fruit scones to go as well. I paid £12.00 for this and thought perhaps there was something special about the sandwich. I was asked to wait outside for the sandwich while it was being toasted. It was pouring outside! I waiting sometime and eventually the lady came out and apologised for the wait. When I returned home I opened the brown bag and there was One sandwich, yes two pieces of bread with said tuna, cheese and onion between them toasted. A small box was inside with a small bundle of salad leaves and some crisps. At £12 for the above for a simple toastie and two small scones to Carry Out. I will not be returning to this café for a quick carry out lunch. I don't know how these places get away with it. Who knows what the charge would be for sitting in.

Visited this little cafe a fews day ago and was made most welcome by the staff. I understand that the cafe is under new ownership since September 2021. There was a wide choice on the menu, including Vegan, all of which sounded delicious. The service was prompt and our food was very tasty. Best cooked breakfast I have ever had! The quality of the ingredients was apparent. Coffee was fabulous.

Lovely little homely spot for breakfast and lunch. Staff are absolutely glowing and make you very welcome. Vegan menu available, plus vegan specials, alternative milks, and bakes. Had breakfast rolls, hot drinks and a cherry crumble across 2 visits and everything was really good. Fantastic to find a place like this in Bearsden - I'll definitely be back next time I'm local.

How come over all this year's you have not cracked the art of making an espresso coffee,but you do make a good cuppa so you are forgiven.

Staff do not appear to know how to make good coffee. On my first visit asked for flat white, it came in a massive cup with too much milk, was a poor latte, asked staff to remake using smallest cup as it should be. That was fine. On second visit asked specifically for them to use small cup. It came in medium cup and had water added and milk. Awful. Staff need coffee training as delivering a good cup of coffee is more than knowing how to pull a shot. Not even sure if they know how to dial in a decent shot never mind the milk quantities for each type of coffee

We got a takeaway from here today and I got the Special Vegan Roll (vegan square sausage, garlic mushrooms, vegan mayo and sriracha). I expected it to be good but it was AMAZING. Seriously you need to try this roll, it's a totally unexpected serendipity of flavours. And I'm not vegan. I'm not vegan at all. You need to try it. Also the cakes are good.

Popped into Lily and Rose for lunch. I had to choose between the vegan and non-vegan menu. For a change, I went for the vegan option to do a variation on my usual meat diet. I had the soup and sandwich option. Went for the soup of the day: sweet potato. It had a lovely deep taste with plenty of spicing. The sandwich was the Good Boy Bagel. It's not the most glamorous eating as I had to take it in two hands. There was sriracha mayo, avocado and Sgaia steak - plenty to bite into. I finished with a proper Americano coffee - something with taste. Staff coped well with all the current safety protocols. It was certainly an encouragement to try more vegan food.

Went here today after a recommendation by my niece. Chose from the vegan menu and lunch was delicious and fresh. Followed by a lovely flat white and vegan brownie!! Great choice on the menu board. Staff were lovely. Good atmosphere would recommend a visit. Also have non vegan choices too.

Took 45 minutes to bring our lunch so we had to rush as there is only 1 hour parking outside. We had finished our coffee before the food arrived. There was no vegan bacon so I got normal bacon but it was overcooked. Disappointing.

I was craving a big breakfast and being vegan it isn’t easy to find many places what do a good breakfast but this place had one of the best breakfast I have ever had! The square sausage was amazing! Would really recommended people coming here, a good variety for most diets! The Millionaire Biscuit was amazing also! Will definitely return!

Had stopped visiting here due to poor customer service however decided to give it a try again today. The gentleman serving could not have been more helpful and knowledgable surrounding my food allergies. Food was also amazing.

My friend and I went into this coffee shop at 3pm on a Sunday. The girl behind the till was obviously not pleased to have customers. There was no hello or even a hint of a smile. The look we were given when we asked for a menu was priceless. We had not been here before ( and definitely will not be returning ) and did not realise that it closed at 4pm. Anyway we bravely asked for coffee and cakes. The coffee was actually very nice. Ten minutes after we arrived the girl went and sat down at one of the tables with her mobile and what appeared to be cash. I have no idea what she was doing but when we wanted another coffee I had to go to this table to order it. When I asked her if she was the owner she said no but that she had to do everything. No eye contact at any time. Very strange. Whilst we were there a woman with a child came in and waited at the counter. After a good few minutes, and without looking in their direction, the waitress advised them that she would be there in a minute. We have never experienced anything like it. Shame we won't be back as the coffee was really good.
