Lovely fresh pub, recently renovated I’d say, sadly no food was available, but if you want a drink in a beautiful environment, this is the place. Great frontage, plenty of outdoor furniture and a superb place to catch the afternoon sun and watch the world go by.

Sunny Saturday afternoon visiting from the Northwest. Made to feel very welcome by the landlord and staff. Lovey place to stop on a walk or a bike ride and I'm sure the same could be said for an evening visit.

Welcoming, friendly service for a Sunday meal with family. Menu was varied with very different choices. Food was locally sourced and was excellently cooked. Presentation was great. Definitely going back

I previously read with interest a newspaper article from December 2020 detailing ‘previous 20 years experience and successes in the restaurant trade’ so was expecting great things at this newly owned pub. However, our experience in June was pretty similar as Craig e. We ordered at the bar, and was then told within 2 minuets our main was ready while walking over to sit at the table. Explained we were not ready as we had not yet had the starter. There was one other couple eating in who had already waited ages then all our meals were served together, the same dishes about 40 minutes after we ordered ours. We think the chef person popped out as how could our meal be ready but then a 40 minuet wait. The bar waitress did not have a clue on wine bottle prices, had to pop off and check with someone each time then come back and tell me. Bottle wines very overpriced, food was ok but not great. Service hap hazard despite only 4 people eating in and no one in the bar. I was going to give it another try but after Craig e review for August I wont be as regrettably things appear to have not improved.

Heard so much about The Ivy house since it was taken over, so we were excited to see new look, new menu. looked at the website to see menu - ticked a lot of boxes. When we arrived the menu did not reflect was on the website and was told by staff the menu changes daily. ok i'm a veggie (but will eat Fish as last resort) no Vegetarian options on the menu. meat/fish/meat/meat main courses. starters - 1 veggie option it was mid week so the place was not full or busy. We did find there was a awful wait for starter and main. between starter and main we waited nearly 40 mins we noticed one couple arrived 10 mins before our mains arrived and their mains arrived at the same time as ours? They ordered the same as us, so how does that work. did they phone their order 45 mis before arriving? not sure why there was a wait, do some pubs do this so you buy more drinks, not sure? I will try again, but slightly mindful not to go at the Weekend as i'm sure its busier but will the wait be longer?

It is great that the pub has been updated but... £9.95 for a lunchtime sandwich!!!!! I'm local and know of plenty of other places for a better value lunch experience.

I havent experienced anything in the local area for food and drink like this before. I would highly recommend anyone to go and try it. The staff are fantastic and really friendly. It's been redecorated to a very high standard and the landlord/landlady could not be more accommodating. By far one of the best pubs in Suffolk.

Came for a quick drink out of curiosity, the renovation had been done to a very high standard from the past pub I remember. The staff were very helpful and friendly! stayed for lunch and was extremely impressed!!!! Local ingredients and an exciting menu cooked to a standard I never expected from a local pub VERY IMPRESSED. Have been back since great place run by passionate people.

Amazing pub!! Absolutely loved it. All my friends and family loved this place. Everyone is so friendly and felt so welcome. The outdoor area is amazing!! Will definitely come back

The renovation superb very tastefully done outside areas lovely bar area very cosy and the lady who seemed to doing everything!! Absolutely charming and helpful. BUT the lunch time menu very poor vegetarian options very very poor in the summer prefer salads cold salmon etc not enough small meals. The charcuterie of meats was awful a selection of very very dry sliced continental sausages maybe a bit of pate would have helped know that's not true to the dish but maybe smoked chicken or ham the tomato and mozzarella dish very expensive for 2 tomatoes and 2 slices of cheese no bread included the best thing was the coffee that was delicious.. Had 3 oysters for £9.95 could have had a dozen for £16.95 couldn't work that out !!!! Ambiance delightful and in time I'm sure they will get there but I'll leave it a while before going back oh one more thing an almost empty sqeezy bottle of Helmans mayonnaise didnt quite fit in with the rest!!!!

Went for lunch today, I can only say hosts made us welcome and the food was fantastic. Been to several restaurants lately and this is the only one I would go back to again.

This was our first (and probably last) visit here. We had determined from their website that they only serve food from Wednesday through Sunday, so, being Wednesday, we called in for lunch. There were only two other customers in the place. We asked for a table for two whereupon the barman asked if we had booked. We hadn't. He explained that they had only one chef working and that they could only accommodate booked places, although they could do otherwise on Thursday and Friday. So, they apparently had one barman with no drinks to serve and a chef with no one to cook for because we turned around and walked out again. We then drove to another pub in a nearby village which serves food 7 days a week and no need to book. Roscoe's in a fairly new business in Stradbroke and, so far, they aren't making a good impression with the locals. They've obviously spent an awful lot of money on renovating the place but an empty pub/restaurant doesn't bring in much revenue.

Since taking over in early 2022, Jason has transformed this pub into a bright, welcoming space. The pub has a secluded beer garden to the rear with a pond and (currently!) a resident, super-cute duck. There's a larger area at the front with benches and chairs and parking off to the side. The bar is relaxed with sofas and a wood burner, and you can have coffees, drinks and food - it's all relaxed and informal. The menu changes regularly and is always fresh and tasty. My favourites are the fish platter and oysters (and I didn't even like oysters until I tried them here!). There's something for everyone. I'd highly recommend it here; the staff are all friendly and really welcoming. Go, you won't be disappointed!

My cousin & I met for lunch at The Ivy yesterday! We will definitely return & spread the news of our find: A Gem in The Suffolk Countryside! The Restaurant & Decor was superb! Excellent attentive Service but not intrusive! A Relaxing and unhurried lunch...

Went to Roscoes at The Ivy House this evening on the second night of service from their brand new kitchen. The staff were delightful, the decor fab, following a full makeover and the food was really top notch. Lots of thought into locally sourced ingredients....
