I first visited this cafe when I came to see my son in Bath in November last year. I had a wonderful breakfast in here on my last day, I had egg and greens and my son had mushrooms on toast. I returned in February and bought my husband who is absolutely NOT a vegetarian! He had the bubble and squeak and loved it. For a man who loves his fry up breakfasts that is praise indeed!!! It’s not just the excellent food though, the staff are so friendly and although both times we went there it was packed they managed to find us a table and the service was impeccable. I’m not surprised they are always busy, it is a wonderful cafe and I will definitely be back - maybe for dinner next time!

First time visit with friends who come here for lunch. The restaurant had recently re-opened for evening bookings and we visited on Friday 2nd Feb. Lovely welcome and polite, attentive service throughout. A cafe style menu that was printed for that day. Portions were generous and the flavours just gorgeous. The railway thali and poutine were delicious. Good wine selection, stunning desserts; I am a meat eater on a fairly regular basis but this vegetarian and vegan menu could convince me otherwise. Will definitely return, keep up the brilliant work.

Just brilliant. Staff were absolutely fantastic, squeezed us in to a full restaurant. The food was delicious, coffee was excellent. Would happily come back again and again (if I didn’t live 3 hours away).

Made a birthday so special, Rooted came up trumps and provided a breakfast fit for a birthday girl (and thankful husband). Service and food quality were exceptional. You were the restaurant that kept on giving. The atmosphere was vibrant, surroundings were perfect for the occasion, you had a busy kitchen serving coffee perfection along with amazing tasty food. There was nothing not to like about this wonderful establishment. If you are a resident in Bath, why have you not visited this incredible place yet?

Service great, food doesn't work The fusion of Indian and English didn't work for me. It's neither one or the other, leaving me feeling ill/sick by the blended burger with a weird cheese and mayo combo....indian flavoured. The chicken tasted of cardboard. Shame...was good for a coffee and a cake before this "twist"

As a vegetarian this is the best breakfast yet, and great coffee too. Attentive staff and lovely atmosphere. Wicked! Looking forward to trying the Sunday roast

We booked for a family brunch with two kids under three. The place wasn’t that full but after ordering the meal, it took too long and the kids expired- we had no updates or explanation for the wait. We had brought toys and did our best. Not a very family friendly experience all round- no compassion. The portions are small and prices high. I had to scrape a thick layer of salt off my black pudding. We had service charge added without being asked, not just once, but double service charge. Check the bill! When I pointed out to the waitress she removed one charge but didn’t think to ask if I wanted to pay service charge at all. Overhyped. Not great service, not great food, not great prices or experience. We won’t be back. Not sure what all the reviews are about.

We cycled here for lunch because it was so handy for the Bristol to Bath Cycle Way: there was plenty of room to leave our bikes while we were eating. My daughter and I both had the 'Full Indian all-day breakfast', which was delicious - my vegan daughter was delighted to have such a wide choice of things on the menu she could eat (there's normally just one vegan option). The peanut butter and chocolate cake afterwards was equally amazing, and the staff were all very friendly (and provided us with blankets to keep warm outside!). We definitely hope to return.

Food was exceptionally beautiful. Full of flavour and extremely tasty. Staff were incredibly bubbly and kind. Would definitely recommend this place to everyone.

We booked a table on whim and after reading reviews about the food. We were not disappointed the food was amazing such a blend of lush flavours and vegetarian! We both had the Indian full breakfast which came with a mango lassi it was all nom and we will be back next time we're back in this neck of the woods.

This was to me a wonderful experience on many levels. We visited Bath for the Jane Austen festival (which was great too) and needed lunch. We did not want to eat in the centre of town, so walked to Rooted cafe in the heat. We were welcomed by such friendly staff, who immediately brought us iced water and sat us down in the shade. The kitchen was finishing in 10 minutes but they asked them to wait until we had ordered lunch. And what a lunch! My salad was both delicious and artistically presented, and only just over £8. The next wonderful thing was that our waitress knew the places where I have grown up in East Africa, which made me feel very welcome. This place really is highly recommended.

Delicious good which never fails to disappoint. Superb family run business that deserves so much support and recognition. There are lots of vegan options and the ones that we selected were delicious. There is also a good selection of juices and other drinks. Would highly recommend.

Rooted is my regular. Fantastic, friendly and personable staff. Cute barista with blue eyes (not that it's important). I'm a regular here for coffee but I also take family and friends for food here and it's consistently good, fresh and tasty. A must visit cafe/restaurant in Bath!

An overpriced veggie cafe on outskirts of Bath, uncomfortable seating and on a main road. Saying that the food is Super in most cases albeit the service was a bit hit and miss. Pricing policy is all over the place and the most heard word was “Sorry” 1.50 for a hash brown and £3 for 1 slice of black pudding I should’ve been eating in Mayfair. You have a great concept but unfortunately do not hit the 100% mark

Honestly, this is the best food I have ever eaten in my life. As vegetarian who is dairy free it is just heaven!! Ridiculously good flavours, I find myself craving ‘a rooted’ all the time and go regularly because of this! Lovely staff, always have a great experience and especially love the large outdoor space so I can bring the dog with me! I highly recommend the mouthwatering poutine and the vegan milkshakes!
