Called in for a quick takeaway late afternoon and ordered a chicken pitta. Served within a couple of minutes, Loads of great succulent chicken filling in a lemon and herb sauce, absolutely delicious!

The standards have dropped. Poor quality chicken, boiler chicken cuts, essentially scraggly and meatless. especially disappointing given the price hikes across the menu, No option to request or select options If you like well seasoned bones, you’ll love it. No real sense of value. Slough all over.

We used to enjoy ordering from here, food remains ok but the delivery time is shockingly poor and the customer service is unbelievable. During our third and final call the member of staff hung up, shocking! If we have a TA from here again we will collect, not sure what has happened but the last two experiences have been negative. I do hope management read reviews and make positive changes.

We ordered a whole piri chicken. The food came on a cutting board type of plate. There was soup all over and the catch up and mayonnaise sachets were on top of that soup . It looked very unhygienic. The fork and knife was wrapped in a serviette and that also was soiled by the soup. Even when I ordered the staff who served us ignored us chatting to each other until I shouted for their attention several times . Other Costumers were very noisy. The food, the environment and the pricing do not match . We won’t be going back at all . should have gone to Nando’s but didn’t want to walk for 10 mins I wish we had done that

My colleagues and I often visit this branch for our beloved chicken halloumi wrap. Quality tends to be consistent and the food is tasty. The chips are really nice and crunchy, yet fluffy inside.

Having waited ages - and being the first person in (the cook was cleaning down the grill) I waited ages and watched while everyone else that came in behind me was served only to be given the wrong order. When I advised that I'd ordered the meal with fries, not rice, I was informed that they didn't do that combination - should have informed me that before I paid for it. They made such a fuss and started talking about doing both and charging me extra. I walked out and will not be going back.

We have ordered from here many time over the last year or so and it has always been great. In particular the chicken tikka burger with cheese, peri peri fries and extra hot chicken wings. Only down point for us is that if we ask for extra toppings on the burger it never seems to happen. PS. the kids also love eating from here (chicken tikka and peri fries), which is a challenge these days!

I wonder how good safety has still not shut this place down. I saw a guy spit on customers food and pick food that's fallen on the floor back to the grill. This was the last straw.. Not going back . In the past I have seen one of the workers insult a old English man.. Very racist staff.. Stay away from this place. Iam sticking to nandos in the future.

Visited Roosters as our original plan hadn't worked out. I ordered chicken strips for my wife and I asked the guy at the counter what the most popular burger was and he just looked at me. I asked again and he looked like he had no idea. Another guy came and mentioned that the tikka burger is good. I ordered the tikka combo, chicken and beef, with chips. The food arrived in good time. The burger was average size but I had next to no chips. The chicken strips were nice. The burger was quite nice. The only downside was that in their attempt to have a "gourmet" feel about their food the food cools down very quickly as opposed to having the food wrapped.

Ordered a whole chicken for takeaway, when I got home which took all but 5 minutes I found my chicken was very dry, not to mention burnt. So I called the restaurant and was put through to the 'manager', I explained the chicken was dry and burnt, and his response was.....wait for it...."It's not a big deal!!" How can a manager of a chain restaurant such as one like this say it's not a big deal. Will never return here again and advise fellow trip advisors to not bother either. Better off sticking with good old Nandos. Poor service even worse food.

As a regular customer of another well-known piri piri franchise, I know it isn't just me who loves this now famous piri piri establishment which, like a post box, has become a fixture of Britain's high street. Let's call this place "Fandos". That context coupled with being a man of the world, I'm hungry for the next BIG thing and possess an insatiable desire for new experiences. This was fertile ground for a certain curiosity brewing inside for this unfamiliar "other" piri piri establishment branding itself as Roosters. I work in Slough so this emerald offering became a regular feature of my commute. Haunting me like Poe's Raven. Then like a pathogen - a contagion - it's quickly spreading to other towns. Rumours of its quality and attractive pricing model further roused my interest to an unbearable brink which could only be quenched with a visit. Yes, I would need to investigate this first hand. Was this a court jester before the throne or a challenger to the king? With a loyal crew (read: the 2 discerning ladies I work with), we boldly marched from the commercial empire that is Slough Industrial Estate with the winter's wind in ours backs - and a lot of it in our faces armed only with debit cards and a deep desire to find truth, and tasty chicken.Rooted at the mouth of Slough High Street, the first thing we learned is that it has parking. Of course it does. I could drive here! This aperitif softened me up for what was to come. The decor is meticulously curated, aspiring for: humble. Practical, tiled interior hosts both cozy booth-like seating for four or more intimate two seaters if you want to treat someone you love this valentines day to a chicken dinner. All of this wrapped like a banana leaf in their signature, energetic green. Kids welcome. The menu is focused: chicken. Sure there's wraps, burgers etc but I wanted to get to the heart of this beast. Wrestle with this establishment's eponymous bird so I threw down the gauntlet to the professional guy daring me to order: half chicken tikka with chips and a diet coke. "Go large or go home" I said to myself. So I went large. And hot. With a squinted eye and a satisfying slow-nod, he knew the boys in the kitchen had Their Moment before them. As if they knew that what lay behind this order was their very future before them: this TA review no less. Hot sometimes just means "burn me" so it takes an experienced hand to season but not scorch its customer. Did such a seasoning sen-se lie here? In Slough? All of this promise - this potential! - on the wings of only £5. The ladies ordered a mild chicken burger and a mild chicken wrap respectively. Both with chips and drinks. Safe bets I thought but often so much can be exposed with simplicity so another clutch of cunning choices. Between the three of us, we covered their primary offerings. Mere kindling for a representative and fair decision. Nearly as fast as we ordered, the food arrived. Diligently and military-like, this open plan kitchen brought together our orders hot and ready to go. Impressed we retreated with our respective prey back to our lair where we would inspect and discuss in privacy (i.e.: our dept eating area). Unpeeling the chicken now incubated in its packaging, there lay before me was half a chicken tikka. The open plan room was now rich with both a satisfying, cooked chicken smell and envy. Passers by couldn't help but inquisitively admire the good we struck upon. And yet such gold: a bird stained in yellow seasoning; both on the bone and moist. Twinned, a chicken breast and leg. The chicken was already scored deeply which I appreciated. All of this posing on a thin naan (more reminiscent of a pitta bread). This addition came as a surprise as it was not described on their menu. "A treat" I thought. "An offering to the gods perhaps." Poised and arched like a cobra, I finally struck upon my catch. And I was satisfied. The meat easily gave way to my fork revealing the pale threads of meat. The moment of truth, the final frontier: would it taste good? Astonished. I've had worse starters in more pretentious places with more dramatic views. This couldn't be true. A subtle but unmistakeable spice finding depth and complexity swirling like an ice skater only to then soar, to leap boldly. "Here comes the spice" I thought. I waited. And the crescendo came to a plateau. I landed and bounced on a cloud. Comforted. It wasn't too hot. Astonishment led to dumbfounded. I collapsed into my seat. Surely the breast must be dry like a marathon runner's mouth. And yet no. It was moist like its shirt. "You can often tell how good a meal is by how quiet the room is." My mother says this. I listened in and all that could be heard was my colleagues munching appreciatively. They too found their sub-fiver chicken nirvana hidden between burger buns and enveloped in a wrap. Like the news of Princess Diana, Michael Jackson, 9/11 or "your first time", each of us will remember where we were when we first had Roosters of Slough. One quibble. The chips were soggy. And there was a distinct greasy taste about them which was not entirely pleasant. I'm tell myself that keeping hot chips in a bag during a 15 minute walk will do nothing to improve their integrity so - perhaps - I will give this a pass. Charitable maybe. Would I return to Roosters of Slough? Of course! I need to know what other gems lie inside. I encourage one and all to visit. Take advantage of the parking. It's there of course. I don't believe you need reservations but of course that could swiftly change and, like so many other popular Berkshire establishments, the threat of a waiting list cannot be ruled out in time. Could Fandos be plucked?I look forward to seeing you there

The first time we ordered from here we ordered the piri piri chicken, didnt fancy it hot so ordered one both with herby marinades. We couldnt taste any marinade and both were very hot and spicy so it is clear that it does not matter what you order, it all gets cooked on the same grill and will be hot.Twice I have ordered chicken pieces from the fried chicken menu and twice the chicken has been raw in the middle and gone in the bin.Great if you like hot chicken, not so good if you like flavour and absolutely lousy if you like your fried chicken cooked through.
