Very slow service, took around 5-10 minutes to make two lattes, then was chatting to a customer for around 5 minutes while there was a queue of people waiting.

We decided to try this tea room for the first time after being given an afternoon tea for 2 gift card as a birthday treat. I have to say we were more than happy with the whole experience. It was welcoming, the staff were brilliant and the surroundings were very clean. We had 2 lovely sandwiches with a salad garnish. The salad leaves were so fresh, brilliant. Followed by 2 very good fruit scones, jam and clotted cream and more little cakes on the top tier of the cake stand . Tea and coffee was also included. Thank you.

Walked in... waited for around 4 mins. Someone was scrubbing something out back. Had a table of people sat in the corner vaping. So walked out.

What a disappointment😕 A very poor choice of beer, the only real ale they had on was the ubiquitous and awful Doombar. One of my friends could only drink half of the pint he was served. Also no food was available. This pub looks very tired and in need of some serious TLC. If you want a decent pint I'd suggest going down the road to the Woolpack. The Railway in Witham is without doubt a pub to avoid in the future.

I was looking for somewhere local for my wife and I to visit and have a couple of drinks. By total luck, my research found this wonderful pub. It, along with the village it is in are the absolute quintessential country setting we dream of finding. There is an excellent selection of wines, beers and spirits to choose from. After making our choices, we could not ignore the great range of home cooked food on offer. We chose the cheeseboard to share and then a couple of deserts. The selection of cheese was not just out of the fridge and portions very generous. The wonderfully fresh and trimmed celery sticks along with ample bread and excellent biscuits made this a sumptuous feast which we both enjoyed. The apple and blueberry crumble along with the sticky toffee pudding were both a total delight. We will be back very soon to sample more of the great food on offer here. If you are looking for that chocolate box representation of a great English village pub with thatched roof and olde world interior, then pay the Half Moon a visit.
