From the moment we checked in Sandra couldn’t have done more to make us feel welcomed. Nothing was too much trouble (she even checked on a family member when they were suddenly taken ill). Fantastic service, food and cocktails were delicious, will definitely be returning, cannot recommend highly enough.

Reception staff were very welcoming. Rooms were large, well decorated, clean and warm. We had dinner at the kitchen grill and the food, we had the hot rocks deal was delicious and tasty. We have no hesitation in returning.

We had booked a one night stay as we were going to a nearby function. When we arrived at the hotel around 4.30 pm the front door was locked and looking through the window at the reception area no one was around. It looked dark and empty. I thought perhaps I had been ‘had’ and the hotel was closed. A side door which looked like an entrance to a restaurant was also locked but had a small notice directing us to the building next door. It turned out this was linked and we found someone to check us in. We found our room which was large with an en suite bathroom. The room was freezing ( it was around 1 degree outside) and the window was open and the radiator turned off. The bathroom had a slight smell. We went out to our function and returned around 00.45am. We entered via the building/ restaurant next door, not seeing anyone. When we got to our room music was thumping out, very loudly what seemed like directly under our room. Thankfully it stopped at 1am. I was just grateful we had arrived back late because there was no way of sleeping with that noise. We also discovered that the door to our room did not lock from the inside so we had to prop a chair against it to ensure our security overnight. The bed was very soft and sloped. Not to my liking. All in all a dreadful experience not to be repeated. Not recommended.

We stayed over in Dunfermline for my husbands birthday so we could have drinks and not have to drive we have stayed in many hotels all over and many in Scotland if I’d known it was a continental breakfast I wouldn’t have booked it however it wasn’t even a continental breakfast it was toast and jam there was one chocolate croissant a few yoghurts cereal and fruit juice the girl did look embarrassed and did offer us fresh coffee which was nice but it is the worst breakfast ever even for a continental so if breakfast is important don’t stay here the rooms were adequate but we wouldn’t stay here again the hotel round the corner does a great breakfast will stick with that one in future the girl on breakfast and she also was on reception was nice but that’s the only nice thing avoid if possible

After an overnight stay in the hotel we had breakfast the next morning. We all sat down and our orders were taken, all of the plates of food that came out were excellent and even though it was only breakfast you can tell the chef made an effort to plate up a great dish, best poached eggs we have had and the full breakfast was really nice and clean no burnt bits, no greasy pools forming and all on the plate hot and freshly cooked. Based on the quality of breakfast we will be coming back to sample their evening meal at some point in the near future. The server was polite, prompt and well presented.

Had a meal with friends, I found the place a bit too dark, food is cooked in front of the dining area, staff were more chatty to themselves rather than customers, meals are pricey

Central location is the best thing about rooms @29, plus it has a decent restaurant and a huge car park to the rear. Rooms were clean but nothing fancy, my bed was slightly squeaky which was a minor annoyances but I still had a good sleep.

My first visit was on a Saturday evening and though it was busy, the service cannot be faulted. The waitresses were coming over to our table at regular intervals to check that everything was still fine and if we needed more drinks. However towards the end of the evening, as the place quitened, it was a little disruptive to our conversation. The food that we had were excellently cooked and presented. If there is still room for dessert then I would strongly recommend it, especially the ice cream as it was unlike anything I've tasted before. To encourage our continued custom, we were given discount vouchers for our next visit within the month.

Got asked to leave because the group I was in sang happy birthday to one of the guys and someone joked at the end 'Happy 17th'. We were told we cannot make jokes like that in an establishment like this! We thought he was kidding, but no. Offered him ID as the guy was actually 23 and wouldn't take it. There were 14 of us putting quite a bit over the bar causing no trouble. Think someone was on a power trip that evening.

Just like any other coffee shop selling coffee for extortionate prices. Ours had the added extra of being stronger than a herd of elephants with something to dash home for. I won't sleep for a week now...

We arrived at 4.40 and were told they would only serve drinks and cakes as closing at 5.00 which was fine. We ordered cakes, pots of tea and coffees. The cake was served in paper bags and drinks in takeaway paper mugs. When I asked for a proper cup they refused as it was near closing time and we never saw tea pots. An American couple came in after us at 4.50 and wanted to buy 2 cans of drinks to takeaway and they were refused service. They told us they had been having a great friendly trip round Scotland and this was the only time they had encountered rude unfriendly service. I refused the paper mug of water with a tea bag floating in it and left. Do NOT go there! It’s awful!

What a find, deserves more than 3.5 score. Tuna melt on ciabatta roll was tasty as was my egg mayo roll. Really excellent cappuccino too, really milky and delicious. The cakes are something else, the Strawberry Danish is DIVINE and my partner assured me the fudge doughnut was spectacular. Worth dropping in if you are in the area, if you are pressed for time jump in and buy a cake, you will not regret it. I intend to make a point of visiting again when in that neck of the woods.
