Romper in Manchester

Went in on my break and got seated bar guy was nice and friendly got the crispy chicken burger came with fries and onion rings but no drink overall it was very nice spent 24 pound for that and 2 drinks went in the next day different guy ordered the same thing made me wait 30m after saying 20m just to tell me to wait another 20 to 30m he looked lost and not a clue what he was doing so had to go back to work hungry as my break was abt to end

Good food and service in a hidden gem of a pub 10 mins from the airport.

We wanted one last good meal without moving too far from Manchester airport, and we found this on Google Maps. Not only did it meet all expectations but they were also gracious enough to find us a table on a busy evening without a reservation. And to top it off, our server Jake was incredibly friendly and attentive to us… guiding is through the menu and making suggestions which we were all happy with. Will definitely be back next time we travel out of Manchester!

Very good place, super pleasant atmosphere, great food and drinks, with Ayden's excellent service.

We had a really nice experience there. The staff was lovely and patient with our big group of foreigners. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. I'm looking forward to going there again.

Really enjoyed my meal at The Romper pub! Food was delicious and staff were very nice too! Both Ayden and Sue were very professional and their services was excellent too! Nice ambience in the pub and would definitely recommend to other people thinking of visiting the pub!

What an absolute gem of a place. We were served by both Sue and Tom and have been trying to get in here for ages but always were to busy. Both Sue and Tom were amazing and nothing was to much trouble. The meals were great and good value for money and we chose of the specials board. we had three cources all very nice and well presented. i went for the game mixed grill and probably the best i have ever had. we will defiantly be going again at some point as the menu was amazing and had some really tasty food on there. The pub décor and atmosphere was also nice. Cant wait to go back.

A hidden gem! Perfect for a quick stop, just a few minutes from the airport. Good selection of food, everything was delicious, and the service was friendly. I can definitely recommend it!

Having attended at The Romper quite frequently over the last couple months with my freinds+biker family at RRR and we have all been welcomed on every occaision. My only request so far through RRR is to get the outdoor patio shelter heaters switched on..! Now just booked a table for 30 (freinds & family) for my daughters 1st birthday and it was a lovely occaision of celebration, laughter and fun filled memories. The staff at The Romper looked after us very well, so a big thank you to all involved, the venue is warm & welcoming, the food was great and the atmosphere too.. Would definitely recommend a visit & I'll certainly continue to return on a regular basis with all my buddies at RRR..🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍

We have been here several times now. Eating with our friends, family gatherings and also a few times with our dog Bruce. The place is an absolute gem. Not far from where we live. Easily accessible from motorways and A roads. The staff are very friendly and helpful even when we bring the dog. Giving him water and they have a treat tin on the fireplace. The food is absolutely lovely and really reasonably priced and good sized portions. We always order two sausages for Bruce too. Plenty of choice drink wise. An all round great experience and this is why we go back time after time. Thanks a lot Romper crew and see you again soon (With Bruce)

I attend every Thursday and the staff couldn’t be nicer. What a great pub that also does some lovely pub food.

We stopped here before we had to head into Manchester. The service was great and food arrived in a reasonble time. I ordered the pork belly and it was delicious. If we'd had more time we would've stayed a little longer but we had to eat and go. Lovely atmosphere in a very busy pub.

Had dinner here the night before we flew out of Manchester. The food was great and not overpriced. For a Sunday night it was busy,service was just a bit slow because of this. The staff was working hard, and they were all friendly. I recommend this place for a good meal !

Last minute decision to have some lunch. Family of 8, no booking, sat down, fed and watered. Staff very friendly and very accommodating. Food was delicious!

Excellent Service, especially from a ginger bartender. Jake and Orlagh was also excellent at getting us whatever sauces and drinks we needed within a quick and acceptable time. The food was also exceptional so well done to the kitchen!

Quite below Wetherspoons quality/portions and 3 times as expensive, Do not eat here. It’s a shame, The pub itself is a charming little place and the staff were nice, however the food let it down. Our party of 4 had three £17.00 each three meat roasts that were cold and wouldn’t have filled a large 9 year old, and one fish and chips at £16.00 which the fish was about the size and quality of birdseyes and about 11 oven chips on with it. Call in for a drink but call off for at McDonald’s for a larger meal/better quality and save yourself £50.00

Really nice pub to go have something to eat, really good food, everybody enjoyed it, a little bit expensive, but still worth it for the odd occasion..

Four of us had a Sunday lunch followed by a mini pudding with coffee. Enjoyed by all & served by a very pleasant waitress called Sarah. We will call again. We have now been a few times for Sunday lunch. The roasts have always been tasteful and we are very grateful that we can opt for the smaller portion which is not available at a lot of pubs or restaurants. This time we were served by Sarah & Elliott who always interact & make us feel very welcome. Well done to the staff at the Romper..

We had a fantastic dinner at Romper near Manchester Airport before our flight the next day. The free parking was a great bonus, especially compared to another nearby establishment who charge. The food was absolutely delicious, with a great selection of guest ales for me and flavoured gin that my missus really enjoyed. The desserts looked amazing, but we were so satisfied with our mains that we had to pass. We’ll definitely visit again. Thank you!

Arrived earlier than the time we booked for. Had a drink at the bar and was seated at our table within 5 minutes. Service was second to none it was table service and the staff are pleasant and friendly. Food arrived without too long a wait l. I had roast turkey Sunday roast and it was delicious. Duck fat roasted potatoes beautiful. My partner had the beef rib Sunday roast. The beef was melt in the mouth and super tasty. Had a side order of honey roasted pigs also delicious. For dessert a trio of classic puddings. Sherry trifle,Eton mess and jam roll poly and custard. We shared this it was lush. I also had a cappuccino. Probably the best roast dinner at a pub we have had.

Great food, good selection of beers and friendly service. They also offer a 15% discount on food (Chef & Brewer) if you have a Blue Light Card - every little helps!

Authentic atmosphere, excellent service and food, a must visit place

Food okay, but could do with upgrading. Salmon fishcake had more potato than salmon and sweet potato was cut into rounds, instead of chips. So went home still hungry!! Steak pie too big, with not much beef content! Love the place, servers very pleasant and on the ball!! And would still call in again.

Sat outside on a lovely sunny day for brunch on the way to the airport. Much nicer than eating at the airport with the inflated prices!!

Great little country pub next to the airport, here for work and TOM couldn't do enough to make me feel comfortable and well fed! Food was tasty and filling. Thanks Tom!

Lovely hidden gem off main road near Manchester airport, kid friendly and great service

We were looking for a good carvers Sunday lunch and found the Romper. It is a hidden gem and a reservation is recommended. We had the Sunday lunch of beef and Turkey food was tasty well presented and not rushed out, two small observations, could do with more gravy although we immediately got more when we asked and am extra slice of meat would go down well. I had a Bitter Shandy and was excellent. Recommended and worth a visit.

Food wasn't the best, didnt think we ordered that much food but the portions you get a very very poor for the price we ended up paying, we was shocked when the bill came £73 wowzers for 3 of us 2 adultsand child, the menu had everything to offer something for everyone but as I said when the food came the chips where shuffling themselves all over the plate coz there was so few, table was gopping full of waste food looked like the table had just been wiped and was left sticky, and the walls where the wood paneling was next to the table was again gopping in bits of food, ordered some hullomi fries but unfortunately they had been cross contaminated with the fish thus happens alot in restaurants as its easy for the quick cooking they will deep fry them in the same cooking oil as they cook the battered fish, service wasnt that bad please thank you, but there was alot of sorry sorry sorry, we where sat near a fire exit too but the fire exit kept on getting used for smokers who used just the outside of the door as an area to smoke, not for me and won't be experiencing the romper anytime soon.

Food was delicious good choice for vegan food

Food service was a bit of a wait. Friendly staff. Had the veg Medley at £13. Not enough substance for me. Please Chef get some obergenes in. Drinks are prices as you would expect. Decent sized carpark. Airport viewing area a five minute walk.

Awful!! Took 50 minutes to receive food after ordering Family of 3, single course meal of fish and chips, veg burger and childrens chicken burger, not a lot. A full 10 mins between first plate and second plate being brought to table. Could see this happening on all the other tables. 'Hand battered' fish was an over fried, flat, horrible frozen job All the food was grim, service appalling £74 for the privilege, just thought we'd pop in from the aviation park, bad decision.

Fine, just really expensive for what you get.

Very poor service after sitting there for 20 mins had to the to find a member of staff to order drinks as we were forgotten member of staff came in the end we ordered drinks and food at same time the drinks came after a further 15 mins then had to wait a further 30 mins for the mains to arrive only redeeming thing was the desert arrived quickly after ordering them. And the place could do with a lick of paint and a good clean .

Decent beer, food of adequate quality. Some of the staff weren’t at their smiling best.

We went here with 4 excited kids on the way to the airport. The service was great. The staff didn't mind that the kids were being kids. Food was amazing, loved it! Would definitely go back next time we go via Manchester airport.

The atmosphere is amazing, so cozy and vibrant, the waiters are so friendly. I ordered steak with fries. I enjoyed the food but it could be better. Steak was not marinated in any sauce.

We ate on Saturday 6th July at about 2pm and left at 3:30 , to take my son to the airport. It was a birthday celebration. Jake served us and so did another waiter whose name I didn’t catch. The service from both of these gentleman was excellent.

Very nice meal for family of 4, no booking and accommodated graciously. Would recommend, worked out great for us heading to an airport hotel.

Popped in for a Sunday lunch 23/06/24 Sue the waitress who's been there many a year, is always very polite, helpful & nothing is too much trouble for her.... Thanks sue for sorting my leftover meat into a little take a way box for my doggy...(it's a pity I left it on the table when I left) My dog hasn't forgiven me! Great little place to eat......5 stars to all the staff

Hidden gem close to Manchester Airport and an infinitely better alternative than sitting in any of the hotel restaurants if you happen to be stuck overnight waiting for a flight.

Disappointed....food was dry.... poor portions were tiny.... thought it was a child meal... when asked if I could I get a bit extra they said no... and need to pay extra.... its such ashamed am writing this because we need the hospitality and pubs to succeed! For the money I paid the portions size was a joke

Had a great meal here celebrating my sons birthday , the pub is very welcoming . The food was good we all enjoyed every part of our meal , they even sang happy birthday to my son which he really enjoyed . Victoria was an excellent host and is a credit to the team , all the staff were extremely friendly , I don't often leave reviews but was so happy with every aspect of our visit that I thought it needed a good review , we will be visiting again .

A lovely place with outstanding food. This was our second visit, we'll definitely be back again.

We popped in for lunch but didn't have a table booked. They welcomed us and made space. The service was great as always and the lunch menu went down a treat.

Staying in a nearby hotel before a flight this was a perfect alternative to hotel food. A nice little pub hidden away from the bustles of roads and airplanes. The decor inside is amazing. There's a lot to choose from, and the food is quite delicious. The staff even thou not so busy we're a bit slow on some occasions but that didn't stop us having a great experience. Definitely a nice place to sit and chat and dine.
