Howdy! in Manchester

Food was nice but the portion was so small compared to the price I paid for my main (£25) one side is not enough for a steak. It should've been minimum of 2. The pepper sauce was so good it's a shame it's only about 25ml. To me, it's only worth eating at this place just once.

Had the chicken sizzler, burger and the mojito and everything was perfect. The ambience was also nice, quite and comfortable

I never leave reviews when we visit places but this one needed a review. We didn’t book a table and when we arrived we were seated immediately. Amazing atmosphere, super friendly staff and great food at an amazing price. We ordered nacho starter, macaroni and cheese main, Django burger and soft drinks the bill was £31.20.

Was really excited heading to Howdy! but the vibe was not as fun as I hoped. They also don't give out tap water you have to pay, food was ok but not worth it.

The atmosphere was so incredible and immersive. The theme was so consistant and it was lively! The staff were so helpful and kind in making choices and directing us, and so accomodating - for both my large family and differently baked members of my family. The food was outstanding , the steaks cooked to a T and we were always checked up on to see if we were satisfied. Nothing but love for this place, will definitely come again.

Waste of time! 1 hour and no food later... we left. The guy sat us down and took our order, 3 simple burgers, then after 45mins they kept saying 5 mins, 5 mins, 5 mins and the food never came. Avoid if it's busy as they just can't handle it.

Howdy’s restaurant was amazing! The mushroom pasta was so good and creamy, definitely one of the best I’ve had. I also loved the chicken lasagna; it was delicious! The Good, Bad and Ugly burger was fantastic too. To top it all off, the piña colada mocktail was refreshing. The customer service was great as well. I fully recommend this place!

This cowboy country western themed gem is brilliant in every way. The service was prompt and polite, the food was delicious, piping hot and well presented (the ribs we ordered came to the table on a still sizzling skillet) and the atmosphere was great too with swinging saloon doors country western decor throughout and all the staff in full cowboy dress. A perfect place to bring the whole family. We were even able to get dessert to go with ease. We'll be returning again soon!

We booked for 5.30 for 4 of us today. 1st timers and wow, what an amazing experience. On arrival we were greeted with the biggest welcome. We ordered lamb chops meal, steak and chicken sizzler, burgers and nuggets. These meals got 10/10 for each of us. The lamb chops were absolutely gorgeous, very well maintained, the mash is so tasty. Everything we had was stunning. We will 100% be back and will recommend you guys to all our friends and family. To all the staff, thank you for the fantastic service. And the price i was impressed with also. 🇮🇪🍀

Enjoyed our food. You are breaking the law by not serving tap water. I always want water with my meal and this is the first place I have not been able to get it. Very disappointed. Service was slow and not all the food was brought out together. It was VERY tasty but fries were cold.

Being a huge cowboy fan I loved this place, was like being in Montana. Our waiter Haroon really made us feel at home and even brought me a cowboy hat to wear which I did. Food was amazing and very well priced, ice cream was very tasty.

Joke of a steakhouse, these guys clearly don't know a good steak, they serve you poor quality meat, seasoned and chucked into a sizzler with frozen veg , frozen chips and pre made mash.... This is like an even crappier version of Toros (another crappy steakhouse in Manchester) avoid this place, they been playing the same Beyonce cowboy song for about 2 years. Boring food boring restaurant and no atmosphere, also location is an old pub in middle of run down housing area.

I went with my family to Howdy's last night. The building and its decorations were fab so straight away my children became excited. We were welcomed by the friendly staff and shown to our table. The restaurant was full but luckily we had prebooked our table in advance. We were given our drinks while we waited for our food. It took slightly longer than usual for our food to arrive at our table but we used this as an opportunity to take some photos whilst we waited. We had starters, mains and dessert and all of it was all delicious. I would recommend the lamb chops, the barbecue chicken lollipops, juliana sizzler and the garlic butter king prawns aswell as the chocolate chip cookie dough dessert which was a hit with my children so we will definitely be ordering that again. We have no complaints at all regarding the staff as they were all friendly and the service was brilliant. We didn't mind the wait for our food as the restaurant was so busy so this was acceptable. However, we sat behind a group who was on another table and one of the young ladies continuously complained and was rude to several staff members. My children were becoming uncomfortable being sat near her because of her behaviour. It seemed like she just wanted to start an argument with different members of staff regardless of them trying their best to help her with her complaints. As she exited the building, she even stuck up her middle finger to both the owner and the manager.

I waited far too long for food, about 90 mins. Maybe they were short of staff or prioritising internet orders. If so, they should reduce the tables for a better service. It definitely wasn't worth the wait

My friend is diabetic and asked if she could have a tap water. They told her that she had to pay Staff was very rude and kept circling our table after we expressed our grievances. Made us very uncomfortable and we're very argumentative at every turn. Shame too, because I'm proper easy to please when it comes to a good restaurant Edit: Haroon was excellent, he really seemed to care for the customers and it's a shame because I really liked the guy

Oh wow, I wrote this review prematurely. This ended so much worse than it started. So we sat down and ordered drinks. They then claimed they "legally" couldn't serve tap water without a license. Legally, they can, they just don't want to. Asking for tap water prompted an immediate request for manager assistance by our server. From this point, the management circled our table relentlessly. After the drinks debacle we ordered food. Food took an hour and 20 minutes to arrive, bearing in mind most of us ordered starters. When my food did arrive (I'd ordered a steak with cheese) it was unseasoned, came alongside a paltry little sprig of rocket with a single cherry tomato atop it, a small pile of rock salt, and a sprig of rosemary. Weird to include such garnishes when you aren't seasoning the meat. Given the wait and the poor standard of the food I refused to eat this and requested the meal be removed from the bill. At this stage the manager and the owner both got in my face telling me I was a rude woman. He then decided he did not want to speak to me and began communicating through my male friend, who promptly told him to stop his exist nonsense and speak to me. The manager then stormed away, leaving my complaint unanswered and leaving me sat with a plate of food I had refused. When leaving the restaurant the manager got very aggravated and threatening. The owner was holding him back. I think he may have a problem with women. Overpriced slop served by misogynistic charlatans. Avoid like the plague.

Appalling experience!!! Would have given lower if I could!! Started with having to pay for water as they would not serve tap water and we could only purchase bottles of water. Took an hour and a half for the food to come out. One of us is diabetic so needed to know when she can do her insulin, when we asked how long the food would be, no one came back to us. When we asked again they said 15 mins. It then took half a hour after this for our food to come out. Before our food came out, they asked if we wanted desserts, after an hour of waiting for our starters and mains!! When the food finally came, multiple items were missing and others such as the steak turned up not as they had been asked to be cooked and not at all seasoned. When we asked if we could have the steak compt due to waiting it’s quality and wiring an hour and a half for it, the manager/owner was very confrontational and refused to speak to the lady who ordered the steak and would only speak to the man sat next to her. Then walked off before the issue could be resolved!! Definitely will not be coming back again. Horrible treatment and no care from the managerial staff. Only plus is that our original waiters seemed really nice and some meals were ok.

Food was fine. Unfortunately, it took far too long to come out. This could be forgiven, even the missing items and incorrect options to a degree. However, the misogny shown by the staff when a steak was rejected due to the incorrect level of 'done-ness" and inadequacies in seasoning was absolutely abhorrent. When the staff begin to insult customers after an hour and a half wait because the food was not deemed acceptable to a customer, which is an absolutely valid complaint to raise for the ridiculous prices charged, and refused to talk to the lady, instead only talking to men at the table like we were indeed back in the 1800s is unacceptable. I try to remain open minded and empathetic, but any goodwill was out the window by the unprofessional, disrespectful performance shown by the manager and server in this scenario. To the owner: A serious level of retraining is required to ensure guests feel safe and valued as customers, else you may quickly find customers begin to leave, as those adjacent to the table did, preferring to spend money at other establishments after witnessing the behaviour described. Please discuss with staff, as I think you have likely lost many previously returning customers from the ordeal.

The restaurant is great how they have kitted out like a western. Food is not good, no better than a local takeaway. Atmosphere is dead, but they play good country music.

Dessert - that cookie dough WOW We came here for our mum’s birthday & it was amazing. The service was great and staff were attentive. A waiter called Haroon sorted the birthday celebration side & we were very grateful. Staff like that are hard to find so cherish it. I could talk & talk but you should come down & definitely try it. We are back once again. I'm yet to try something which doesn't taste amazing. The steaks, pasta, lasagne, salad, chops, everything so far has been great. Massive American style portions, if you don't eat alot, 2 people could easily share a dosh. The manager and staff are amazing, would highly recommend. No doubt will be back again soon.

Highly reccomended. All staff very pleasant and super helpful. The food was huge and very tasty. They put dry ice on the table for the kids and even give my son a huge piece of cake and sparkler for his birthday. We will be back very soon.

Although the food is pricey it's well worth it, beautifully prepared and very tasty, some of the dishes two people can share. The theme of the restaurant is executed masterful. Will plan another trip out again.

Ordered a 16oz steak medium rare and got a 13oz medium one. There's no beer, no wine. Only fizzy drinks because "it's a family restaurant". Manager was incredibly defensive when I asked 'why not' to their lacking beer. Strange vibes.

Its been opened nearly 3 years and i have never been to this restaurant even though its 2mons walk from my house. Last night i went for my birthday meal to try out tge food. Omg we ordered sizzler platters not knowing how big the portions were gonna be and we were stuffed!!! Food was yummy and piña colada was lush. So now we have decided to go out once a month to this place to try different dishes. People in Longsight give them a chance you wont regret it. Atmosphere and service is immaculate

Brilliant food, lovely staff and good service. First time trying it and well deffo return. Lamb chops and steak were really nice. Thank you to the Bengali gentleman for the free ice cream as we were leaving.

Food is quite delicious and ambiance is fine. Halal food is served here. Staff is very friendly. Ice-cream and sweets are also available there at sweet corner. On weekends it’s quite busy and during weekdays, it’s easy to find your spot. I love its food.

If you're a country and foodie gyal this is the place to go!! Vibes were immaculate, scran was delicious. £53 for two mock tails, 2 burgers, a start and a dessert. Bargain!

My partner and I visited, and our experience was nothing short of appalling. From the start, things went downhill. The nachos we ordered were stale, and all the food arrived cold—not even slightly warm. We politely mentioned this to a staff member, who then called over the manager. Instead of listening and understanding our concerns, the manager essentially interrogated us, questioning why we were complaining, and claiming that six other tables ordered nachos at the same time and hadn’t said a word. Ironically, there weren’t even six tables occupied. What made this experience even more upsetting was his repeated insistence that the ingredients hadn’t changed, which was irrelevant as we never claimed there was anything wrong with the ingredients—only that the food was freezing cold! It felt as though he was accusing us of lying or trying to scam them, which was incredibly disrespectful and humiliating. The manager assured us he’d “sort it out,” but then proceeded to do absolutely nothing. After half an hour of waiting, we finally gave up and decided to settle the bill, only to find a meager £7-£8 discount off our entire order of three big meals—all of which had been served cold. The service was horrendous, and the lack of respect and care was shocking. This experience left us so disappointed that we will absolutely not be returning, and I would strongly caution others against visiting.

One of the most disappointing experiences we’ve had in Manchester unfortunately, and one of the few places we agreed we’d never return to. It’s a fun idea but is poorly executed and feels very low-effort. The food tasted like frozen food from Farmfoods, the service was slow despite there only being a handful of other groups, and they refuse to give tap water despite us also ordering other drinks. Presumably this is so they can charge a daft price for lime squash. Their marketing relies heavily on AI and I fear a lot of the good reviews are probably fake. Left feeling like we’d fallen for a scam.

Service was friendly and attentive, with our server eager to recommend dishes and share the restaurant’s story. We also appreciated the extensive drink menu, which included a solid selection of craft beers and regional wines.

From the moment we entered we were greeted with smiles from staff. They were so welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. The food was out of this world and by far the best food i've had in ages. I will 100% be going back.

Great atmosphere, however it was very busy when we arrived at 5.30pm. There were quite a few families with young children and quite a few birthday celebrations. By 6.30pm, it became quieter. Seating is in a booth. There is also a table that has jail above it, which is great for the kids, and there are a few different photo opportunities near the entrance. Because it was busy when we arrived, it took around 10 minutes for our drinks to arrive and 40 minutes for our food. They do not serve alcohol. They have Mocktails and soft drinks only. The food was great, good portions and the price was reasonable too. I'm vegetarian, and there was the usual halloumi starter and burger main. I had the vegetarian burger, but from the description on the menu, I was expecting something like a Beyond meat burger. So I was slightly disappointed when it was the basic vegetable burger. With that said, it was still very tasty with the sauce that came with it. They also brought a goblet to the table that created smoke. I'm not sure the reason for this, maybe to add to the ambience. We will go again, but maybe after 6.30pm.

Was staying at a local hotel for a conference the next day. We needed something nice to eat. The restaurant looks like some kind of American throw back but actually really good. Staff all in cowboy hats and really welcoming. Food was fresh and tasty. No complaints.

Pretty disappointed to be fair was told about Howdys by a few people so I booked for my wife's birthday with daughter when arrived we stated we had a table for 3 to the manager who said give me 5 min no problem there was about 7-10 waiter's for the whole restaurant no waiter grabbed us to seat us it was left to the manager to say has nobody seated you yet he then took us to our seat after being there 15 min waiting we was seated with no menu's we had to ask for menu's 20 mins later or if we had to order somewhere esle. We ordered drinks the sharing platter and my daughters burger and mash to come the same time as our starters don't get me wrong the starters was amazing out of this world couldn't ask for anything better we waited ages for drinks we asked 2 waiters about them which both replied ill check for you. For main we got a surf and turf and a good bad the ugly burger this was very very poor the burger seemed to be shown the grill both sides and raw in the middle and have a mushy texture the steak well we're do I start I've never seen a steak cut lengthways too see if it was cooked and slapped on a plate with with a few mushed up prawns we had a few bites and decided too send it back we was asked if everything was OK and fine which we stated it was a poor effort for a newish restaurant we ordered a set of drinks again with took forever too arrive we asked for the bill which you guessed never turned up so we asked again and you guessed it never came by this time we just wanted too leave we brought our concerns to the manager paid and left... £119 and I have to admit it. Has to be the worst bare the starters Howdy!!you need to sort your staff out as there letting your restaurant down would I come back unfortunately I won't it's been an eye opener and I feel as z customer I've been let down
