Romas Fish Bar Townhill in Swansea

Lovely food as always :) The only chippy I will go to, food is always fresh and never have to wait very long. The Irish curry is the best!

it was okay the chicken burger i didnt even eat because it was dry, chips were okay..dry asked for salt and vinegar couldn’t even taste it tho. But if anyone is thinking about purchasing a burger definitely 100% get the beef one over chicken the chicken is disgusting.

Finally I think I have found the perfect chippy chip! These chips are lovely and their irish curry sauce is to die for. Really good chippy, I go here most days now.

The best chips in Swansea. One of the staff there can be quite grumpy but all of the other staff make up for that one person, so I haven’t marked Roma down for that one grumpy person.

Good fish and chips, good portions, pity the fish is wrapped in paper and not boxed as it goes soggy and loses its crispness, Only downsides are long waits on times while delivery orders take priority.

Finally these superb fish fryers are on a delivery app! This is my go to chippy and has been since moving to Swansea - we tried the range and Rossi’s but nothing comes close to the Roma on Townhill and now even better we don’t even have to go out to get it! The freshest most succulent fish in the crunchiest batter with the crispiest chips I’ve ever had. This is the ‘plaice’ to go.

Sorry but this is the best Roma in wales. I work less than 50yds up the road so it's so easy to call in. I've tried Gorseinon etc but they are nothing compared to Townhill. The staff are professional and polite and covid procedures are spot on. Thank you all for your service during this terrible time, you have kept many key workers like myself fed and looked after.

Best chip shop in Wales. So handy for me as they are literally 100yds away from where I work. Everything I've had over the years has bern amazing. The staff are an absolute credit to the business and I mean that as they can't do enough for you. Its a pleasure to be one of your very happy customers.

Went for food here just before Christmas whilst visiting family.the food was very greasy and bland, the staff member that served me was snobby, the way they treat there staff is terrible.one member of staff I seen had very sore hands they were cracked and bleeding and she was still serving food without gloves.The prices are expensive for the portion sizes you get. I wouldn’t choose to eat here again.

The quality of the fish and chips in Roma's is second to none, lovely batter on the fish and the chips are cooked perfect, Shop is very clean and has friendly staff, would have got five stars but the chip portion was slightly smaller than expected for a large portion

Have been multiple times. Its a fish bar located in not the most desirable part of town. But the quality of the fish (and chips) is excellent. Always fresh. The service is excellent. If the fish is finished they will tell you (not rush to get some old stuff out of the freezer). Size of the chips portions are crazy! Would get 5/5 but is a little pricey for what it is so only a 4/5. But for good honest high quality fish and chips you can't go wrong here.

I have never ... never failed to get top quality, fresh food from the Roma. Ignore other reviews - maybe from competitors? The fish is exceptional.

We popped in to order a large chips and sausage for my son as we were picking up an online order from the Indian next door!! Ordered a large chips at £2.60 and a sausage........waited over 10 mins for the order, which was on a Saturday night at 6.30! Hardly anyone in there and was disgusted at the portion size, it was tiny!!! Wont be visiting again, terrible value for money!!! Ps...the Indian was delicious!!!

As above! Have complained about portion sizes before but they really are taking the mick and haven’t bothered to adjust, and what’s more I’m really sick of being served crunchy raw potato! Your staff are so rude and have an attitude problem. Won’t be spending any more money with you.

A bright, clean chippie with plenty of choice on the menu. The fish is always fresh and in a tasty crispy batter. The staff are friendly and you never have a long wait for fresh food. A handy place to visit when you just can't face cooking after a long day in work.

We think it's worth travelling a little to get fish and chips from here ! Excellent value and friendly staff .

We were recommended to try fish and chips here by a family member and were not disappointed! Quick service fresh fish and chips very tasty. This will definitely replace our usual destination. Good quality £10 for 2 portions fish and chips. Generous with the chips.

I've been to this fish & chip shop once before, passing by the off chance with friends I decided to call in again. My friends are not from that area and I thought it would be good idea to let them taste good food! I must say it won them over, 'the fish & chips with the mushy peas have to be some of the best I've ever had.'

My husband picked up food from Roma and we were not impressed at all the chips could have done with another few minutes cooking as they were hard and the rissoles were terrible all squashed up and fell to bits when taken out of the wrapper.

Always pop into Roma Townhill as I work near by. Best fish and chips in Wales for sure. Faggots are amazing and staff are lovely and helpful. See u all soon

Wanted a good value, convenient meal and visited this Fish Bar, having previously visited the Roma in Gorseinon. We were not disappointed - the fish was cooked to perfection, fresh and tasty. The chips were freshly cooked, piping hot and delicious. All in all, a good value, very very tasty meal, well worth a visit.

Often have battered Plaice and Chips from here. Fish is freshly cooked for the customer, to takeaway, thus a short wait for it to be prepared and cooked. Lovely tasting batter! Staff friendly and helpful.

Quick and friendly service and staff lovely food, we go everytime it's fish and chips time! Good prices, wide menu choice and a TV to watch while you wait, if u need to wait that is

Visité este fish and chips en una noche de viernes para conseguir cod y patatas dos veces por mi tía y yo al llegar a su casa, estaban todavía muy caliente. Pedí un pequeño bacalao y patatas pequeñas dos veces y las porciones eran muy generosos. Las patatas y bacalao estaban perfectamente cocinada. . El mejor que he probado en mucho tiempo. Recomiendo al 100%.

Call here all the time for food. Sometimes up have to wait but it's well worth it. All staff really friendly and food reasonably priced. Never had a bad meal

La Roma tiene la mejor tienda Chip Chips en Swansea. Toda la comida es precioso+. Todo el personal es encantador + educado. El lugar está muy limpio, con un alto nivel. Los precios son muy razonables.

I have never been that keen on this place but has my husband's friend was calling in and said he was going to here he asked if we both wanted anything, i said no but my husband had a rissole which he like this place but was disappointed has there was so much potato peel left in it, i did try a bit of this and our friends chips and will say i still don't like this place sorry

Used to visit here a fair bit, but called in yesterday and had a large chips at £2.30! They used to be a large tray and a big scoop on top. Today was just a large tray. I thought about buying a small portion on top, but decided no, and I would just treat it as a lesson learned. The chips had been in the box for a little while judging by colour and taste. They were OK, but just OK. Will not be going back any time soon.

Banging food best chips for miles around and there curry is well worth a try fresh fish all the time really nice staff and open till nine at night

I drove past this fishop on way home from visiting a friend.10/10 of cleanliness, it was gleaming and the 2 girls (staff) all had smiles on their faces. I ordered a large cod and chips and I wasn't sure of what his name was but a young boy kindly cooked it fresh for me. My food was absolutely delicious and would definitely be returning. Good job

I love the chips and gravy from here I use regular and have no intention of stopping. Staff are friendly and effective with good grub.

Knowing I had a huge order of fish and chips for a post Christmas family get together lunch (none of us wanted to cook or have anymore turkey) there was plenty of chip shops to choose from but as I live in Loughor and know the excellent reputation of Roma's and had the pleasure of their food on many occasions and knowing that Roma Fish Bar Townhill was on the way to my destination I thought I'd give this shop a go, I wasn't disappointed (none of the 11 was actually which is a miracle in itself knowing this motley crew) they cooked all the fish fresh for us, cooked to absolute perfection and the chips are to die for! The pies, sausage in batter and plain sausages were all scoffed quickly with fingers licked...there was plenty to go around and great value for money!! Roma are the best you'll get in Swansea...always!!

Up the road from Townhill campus so me and friends would treat ourselves to this chippy and were never disappointed. Lovely blonde lady that always remembered our order even though we didn't go there very often. She was always friendly but I can't remember her name.Great chips and battered sausages are lovely from here.

Love everything about this chippy, food is always nice and fresh, staff give an outstanding service. Anthony the owner and his partner Sarah, are always happy to help you with anything that makes customers happy. I definitely recommend this place to anyone. Tips: try the fish, curry and of course the chips, absolutely stunning! !

Lovely fish and chips freshly cooked, don't often eat chips but if we do we always go here. Spotlessly clean with preparation area in full view. Staff super friendly!

When ever we are down visting family we always go here , love the batted rissoles , just don't have these in England , when ever we go Swansea its romas for a rissoles

Amazing chips? There is usually a long queue of customers but the staff are quick and it really is worth the short wait as the food is delicious.

Friendly service, good food and clean. The Roma has an excellent reputation in Swansea so I was happy to here one opened near me. Chips are not something I eat often but with Roma I can make an exception

Visited here last week and must say the service was outstanding, very friendly,my husband who speaks Italian had a good chat with the owner about Italy. The food itself was second to none, hot ,fresh and very tasty. We live in Gorseinon and also have two Roma fish bars and restaurants which are also fantastic. We will return to Townhill.

having been visiting family time just flew and we were late for our evening meal,so we chose to get a takeaway and settled on fish n chips.So glad we did it was A1.food.

This is by far my family's favourite chippy, and in our opinion the best in Swansea. The chips are always just right, never too greasy. The rissoles and sausages are prefect too. Service is always fast and friendly and the prices are very reasonable.

Swansea has been waiting for a decent fish and chip shop like this for years. There are numerous of them around the city but this excels them all.Friendly and rarely do you have to wait long. The best thing is their food is not dripping with grease as are so many of these establishments.

Nice clean shop takes a age to get served take your money and make you wait. Very pricey small portions

Best fish and chips around, worth going out of your way. Anthony the owner is great, always cooks my fish fresh. My husband loves the faggots and peas and my daughters love the cheese burgers.
