Good mains of pasta and pizza but booked a table for 8pm then had to wait until 8.30pm to be seated. Once the food was ordered it came quickly but we then waited from 10pm when Olour plates were cleared until.10.45 pm to be asked if our food was OK or if we wanted desserts but we never were never asked so we got.up and walked to the bar - only then did staff notice us and then asked us to pay the bill - not.experienced such poor customer service in a long time didn't seem to care about the customer experience at all, which is such a shame as the food was good but won't visit this restaurant again as a result of the poor service we received.

Love this restaurant the food is brilliant and the setting is great. We have now been twice and really enjoyed the meal twice. I would just say check your bill as we had two extra drinks added to our bill this time which we hadn’t had and last time we had an extra dessert added. They resolved it for us but it made me feel when I asked that I was lying which put a dampener onto the end of the meal .However the lady in charge was great it was the young waiter who made me feel like I was wasn’t being honest.

Beautiful restaurant with a warm welcome by the owners. You have to try the foccacia bread with rosemary and sea salt as it's too die for! We find the prices for food and wine very reasonable and always have a delicious meal here

I have tried this restaurant for a takeaway 3 times and have not been disappointed, their pizza are good quality not like a piece of cardboard and I had the Gran Spaghetti once, looked plain but boy was it tasty. The staff that served me(I assume were the owners) are very pleasant and accomadating.

I'd tried a nearby Italian takeaway and the pizza was awful but I had noticed Romanos nearby, at the moment it is only doing takeaways because of Covid restrictions. Although the menu was quite extensive I thought I'd stick to the tried and trusted pizza, I chose right it was delicious and I'd go as far as to say the best Pizza I've ever had and it came with a discount because it was a takeaway. Well don Romanos.

Romanos never fails to deliver in it standards from the food to the service. Staff are attentive, polite and efficient. The food is always to the highest standard from perfect pizza, pasta to steak. I would highly recommend the profiteroles if you have room for a desert or just ask to take them home. Perfect place to dine in a warm relaxed atmosphere.

Having been here multiple times recently I have been impressed every time by the delicious food and friendly hospitality. The lobster ravioli and the pizzas are delicious, I’ve eaten pizza at the famous L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele in Naples and this was just as delicious! Delicious food! Portion sizes were big enough (we are big eaters)! The staff were very friendly too. My little 14 month old was terrified of the masks and they did everything they could to make her feel at ease. She was giggling away in no time! Highly recommend! We will be returning very soon.

Overall an enjoyable meal. We both had stuffed mushrooms to start, to be honest they were a bit bland but with added salt and pepper and some Parmesan they were OK. The mains were much better. Crab spaghetti with baby tomotoes and Chilli was really tasty with the spaghetti being perfectly al dente. The Lobster Ravioli was also very good. The service was good and the older Italian waiter was very friendly.

Had a great meal having been fitted in at short notice despite them being very busy. This is the fourth time I have been there. The food is excellent quality, the service is great with really friendly attentive staff. It is a family run business and the owners are really welcoming and engaging. We booked for 37 people for 1pm on a Sunday straight from our sons christening service at St Andrews. It was a 1st birthday/christening do and I genuinely cannot fault the service we received. From sitting down in advance and agreeing the menu to organising a children’s table at the back, nothing was too much trouble. The kids were sorted first and then all the 26 adults meals came out together, hot, delicious and well presented. Every course was perfect which for that many people is an achievement!! On our request glasses were kept topped up and even cutting up our cake for us wasn’t too much trouble. We can’t recommend Romano’s enough and Romano you were an excellent host and true gentleman

An excellent first visit, the food was beautifully presented. Service unobtrusive and professional. Our party of 4 , early 70s, voted it the best evening dining for a while. I had a cooked to perfection steak Tagliata,( fillet steak with Parmesan shavings), served with vegs. as my main course. Washed down with a bottle of Nero Davola Sicilian red. Around £80 including the wine £24, for 2 diners. Not the cheapest eatery in Longton, but possibly the best.

Ate here with friends for a birthday celebration, food was good although a little on the expensive side but a big disappointment was the poor service, from the minute we arrived we were kept waiting for everything. The one bar man was busy making cocktails so had to wait for drinks for quite a while whilst we were waiting for our table to come free, then we had to wait for wine we ordered and when our orders were finally taken they had run out of the dish two of our party wanted. The starters came in reasonable time but we had to ask twice what had happened to our mains. It looked chaotic in the kitchen and it appeared there was only one chef, granted it was very busy but was obvious they had overstretched themselves and resulted in poor service.

We were always fans of the restaurant when it was Porcini’s but since the new owner took over and renamed it Romano’s, it is even better. The layout of the restaurant has been changed as has the decor. Both have improved the overall experience greatly. The food is fantastic and so are the staff. They are friendly, attentive but also very professional. We are always made very welcome and looked after extremely well. I would not hesitate to recommend it for either and intimate meal with a partner or a relaxed meal with a group of friends.

Lovely meal at Romano’s Italian. Hadn’t been since it changed hands and had a refit. Liked the new layout and decor. The tables were a reasonable space apart, not crowded together and the furnishings somehow deadened the noise which was a problem with the previous restaurant! Service very quick and attentive. House wine very drinkable. Good choice of standard Italian food with a specials menu. I had the duck off the specials, delicious. My husband chose a spicy pasta dish. We both chose a dessert which sounded tasty but found a little too cold, obviously straight from the fridge. Overall a pleasant evening and will be returning.

Absolutely this is much improved on what was before BUT it was very busy and easy for them not to give the appropriate attention to service. So busy we felt neglected such that we weren't even asked the obligatory "everything ok".... To which we would have said the lasagne has been left in the oven to long and is dry and overcooked!. Our mushrooms starter was great.... Garlic bread ok but overpriced... Wine nice.... Bow Pasta with salmon excellent... Lasagna overcooked and dry.... Atmosphere great.

Visited Romano’s 3 times since it has been taken over by new management, once before the refurb and twice after. What the owners have done with the place is really quite remarkable. It is completely unrecognisable from the old “Porcinis” which was soulless and lacked atmosphere but now the place has a buzz whilst still managing to retain a cosy, homely feel. Staff are attentive, welcoming and accommodating....one of our party fancied the mushrooms for starters, but cooked slightly differently from how the dish read on the menu. Not a problem. One word to the chef from Vinnie our waiter and the mushrooms were brought out just as my friend had requested. The menu consists of the usual selection of Italian pasta/pizza dishes with an added specials menu which changes regularly. Food is delicious, clean plates all round. The owners and staff here are very passionate and committed to delivering high quality food and excellent service. This has earned them another regular customer and I look forward to enjoying many more great nights here! Bravissimo!

As the title says this was a last minute decision. Food was good. Nothing special though and with a large number of italian restaurants in the area will need to improve. This was prior to the refurb so possibly will improve. I thought the prices were a little steep but it seems many places are getting that way lately. Drinks again higher than expected but thats not unusual. My family really liked the food. Mine was ok. But I thought had too much garlic. In fact my eyes were stinging when we left because of the smell. Hopefully once established this new establishment will be an asset to the village

Been a couple of times since it changed hands but this was the first time since it was refurbished, a complete change round has been done. We eat out fairly regularly and this was our third visit since it was taken over and our first since the full refurbishment. Without doubt the restaurant looks much better and the internal rearrangement has created a better atmosphere. The holding area by the bar works but for the fact that the loss of the lobby creates a noticeable draft every time someone arrives. So if your table is ready I wouldn’t hang around!

The menu should be quite acceptable to most, my partner enjoys venison and to her delight, it was on the menu. We ordered some ‘gluten free’ pizzas here. 2 x pizzas. 2 x gluten free garlic breads and 1 x gf pasta. It was the worst pizza take away we have ever had. We ate about 1/4 of the food and we are not fussy at all. The base was so dry and chewy and ridiculously crispy it could have taken a filling out. The topping was not even decent. I ordered 1 x tomato and 1 x cheese garlic bread and we got 2 x cheese just to top it all off. The pasta was watery and tasteless. If you are a coeliac avoid here like the plague. They have absolutely no idea at all. They didn’t even want to try to isolate the food. I was told upon ordering that the pizzas would be in a shared oven which is fine. I understand that. We get that everywhere but I asked the girl are they put on a tray and I was told yes. Then I turned up and they were literally put in with the normal pizzas on the oven floor! Absolutely no concept of wheat cross contamination at all. I asked could they be put on trays and I was told no they were already in! I was met with attitude about how the whole oven will have wheat in the air. We are aware of that but at least TRY not to have the underneath of the pizzas where cross contamination mainly takes place isolated from where the wheat pizzas have been. Had the food at least been enjoyable I wouldn’t have gone out my way to write a review but it was awful. I can think of better ways to waste £35. We couldn’t even get half way through. It was terrible. I ended up making my partner egg and chips for tea it was that bad. They seriously need to just not even get involved in the gluten free pizza game. It is not their forte. The normal pizzas look good but their GF offering is inedible. Don’t lure people in under the impression you can do it. Take it off the menu and stick to what you know or buy in the bases like dominos and put them on trays!!

We visited this restaurant for the first time before we went to the cinema next door. We both had garlic bread, one plain and one with tomato. Mine with tomato was lovely except the middle was a bit undercooked. My partner had the chicken and chorizo paella which he said was just OK. I had the spaghetti bolognese which was tasteless and bland; really disappointing. Strangely we had to pay by bank transfer to a personal account which felt a bit dodgy to be honest. And the manager sits in a corner with his beady eye on everyone. Don't expect we will visit again.
