I took my sisters here for birthday treat on a Monday evening and took advantage of the 2 courses for £20.95. The food was lovely and the staff very attentive and friendly. Unfortunately we only managed 1 photo between the 3 of us.

As usual, experience here was fantastic. My go to place for the excellent vegan menu along with excellent service.

Fab food and we were looked after very well. It was our wedding and they put a sparkler on my dessert with "Happy anniversary" written in chocolate, made it a special evening x

Overall impression was a good experience even though the time awaiting the first course was rather extended. Bearing in mind it was quite busy I suppose it was to be expected. The food was well cooked and served hot which is important to us. This was our first visit to EGO I am sure we will be back.

Great location, food is excellent well cooked and perfectly presented. Managment and staff always friendly and helpful. Delightful Sunday lunch however it was a disappointment to find that the Creme Brulee has been taken off the menu

The service was slow even though the restaurant was relatively quiet. We were in the restaurant for 2 hrs 45 mins! When we received our main courses we had no cutlery so had to request more. I also had to request napkins, which never arrived. We also had to chase up drinks on a couple of occasions

A lovely meal made all the better because a young lady noticed my son was struggling with how noisy a party was next to us and offered to move us to a quieter table, which was very much appreciated. We’ll definitely be back soon. Good was fantastic and the staff were lovely.

The lady who was Front of House went above and beyond to help me retrieve a discount code on my phone - she is always fantastic and such an asset to the business.

Had afternoon tea with my daughter. The food selection was good and very tasty. Included cappuccino and speciality teas. Very nice.

Went for the Wednesday £40 deal of two courses and a bottle of wine for two people, it was absolutely phenomenal, everything about it was great, I will definitely be returning

First time we have visited Ego at The Fox Club and we weren't disappointed. Staff were so friendly. Atmosphere was fabulous and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back. Gemma our waitress was lovely.

Yet another excellent meal at the Fox Cub; good food, cheerful & helpful staff and a good atmosphere. The food & drink is excellent value - and on Monday there was £10 off a bottle (Prosecco in our case).

Always enjoy the Fox Cub. Can't fault it.

Excellent service and perfect table after asking for a quiet table that accessible due to elderly member and asd daughter.

Always consistent quality food and it's very good. Friendly staff and service isn't rushed. This is not a fast food place. Look upon it as a typical Spanish restaurant where the food is freshly cooked but will take a little time to arrive dependent upon the number of people dining. Sit back and chill.

After tea really nice and very tasty,the staff were very helpful and polite would definitely return .

Very pricey for having to wait and hour and half for food Food isn't spectacular either, standard pub food for an exaggerated price. Don't seem to have enough staff either.

What a great little pub/r'rant near Penwortham. Lovely garden in the sun. Free lge car park. Interiors are cosy and stylish. Staff are happy and the food is both presented well and Hot and Tasty. A great stop for a drink and a nibble. 🙂

Fantastic experience at Ego as always - the atmosphere is gorgeous, very warm and cosy with a classy feel. Would recommend for any occasion! Plenty of comfortable inside and outside seating. Service is always great, friendly and no delays to food or drinks. Excellent choice from the menu from appetisers and starters right through to after dinner coffee. Food is absolutely delicious!

1 hour after taking our order and no food. Drinks not offered. Told the beef was poor quality after 40 minutes from ordering. Service ridiculously slow. Would never come again.

We have been to Ego at the Fox Cub many times and the food is always good, the service is always good, the staff are always friendly and the surroundings are comfortable. What more could we want?

I came following a recommendation from a friend. I didn’t find the menu very appealing, the calamari was rubbery and greasy and the salmon fish cakes were dry, as was the rocket salad (no dressing) and the fries were stuck together. The service was descent and the atmosphere was jolly as a ladies group was celebrating a birthday. But I won’t be returning again any time soon.

Hmm 1 star this time. So I spent £65 for a meal. Starter ×1, mains x2, dessert x2 & drinks (non alcoholic). Starter ok isish. Mains pizza base as thin as paper & burnt around the edges. Risotto no chicken small portion and bland no taste. Desserts well small & no worth the money. Staff were not attentive apart from asking every 3 minutes did we want more drinks. Sorry no. After the last experience with uncooked kebabs and refunds I expected better. Change the menu a bit and stop serving the same things for the last 3 years. Atmosphere empty tables in the restaurant so not much if any atmosphere. Would I recommend no, not until you start giving value for money until then I will eat out elsewhere. I have been a loyal customer in the past but something needs to change for me to return.

Consistently good quality food, service and atmosphere. It was surprisingly busy when we visited on a Tuesday lunchtime. We had pizza's and loved them, thin crispy bases done in a pizza oven. My partner had goats cheese and red oinion chutney which was delicious and I chose to make up my own pizza which was; mushrooms, artichoke and black olives, which was also delicious. They have a special lunchtime menu for those who don't want to eat a full meal.

What a lovely place, food was excellent great choices, staff really friendly and helpful and service was brilliant. Only just found this place and been back twice already this month.

Booked for this special offer night and it was excellent. Upon entry we were showed to our table by pleasant staff , drinks and food ordered almost instantly. Little wait for drinks but not overly so. Recommend the starter of coated Iberian pork with black pudding , lovely and moist with added dressing and leaves. Can also wholly recommend the beef bourguignon for taste and tenderness. Really enjoyed the atmosphere, our meals and complementary staff.

Excellent value and imaginative quality food. We are regular customers now and we think the midweek offers are great. We also use the Ego's in Sefton and Lytham which all have similar menus and offers.

It saddens me to write a poor review as we regularly come for Sunday lunch. But last Sundays was terrible both food and service

Ego never falters on quality of food, choices of dishes and making to order, we booked for their offer night Wednesday 2 courses for £15 we expected a limited menu but was surprised to the wide choices on offer, including our favourite dishes, my husband had mushroom in a sauce, I had Goats Cheese, we both had the Andalusian Pork with Dauphinoise Potatoes, service is very good although staff are not familiar with what draft beers are on offer, so it's a good idea to just go along the bar to see what is available

Not been for a while food and wine quality not as good as before. Wine was really quite dreadful stuff and would not have it again Food was mostly over cooked Pork fillet was really dry Bit sad really because we have enjoyed some good food there previously Staff were good

Lovely welcoming place, very friendly and helpful staff. Big menu. Food really delicious, and vegan selections too. Great cocktails. Decor stylish and luxe yet relaxed. Also has well kept garden with seating. Really impressed Thankyou.

Staff very pleasant and helpful. Starter and main courses tasty and nice. Desert however was a massively over priced disappointment. We ordered the chocolate sundae and it was basically a sundae glass over filled with cheap cream. Ice cream and chocolate browny pieces were very scarce. You could see daylight thru the glass before we even started. For £9 you would be forgiven for expecting a bit more. Apart from that everything else was good.

Our first time dining here. Very nice welcome and staff very pleasant , great choice of all courses really. Food nicely prepared and presented. I had the paella and hubby had the mixed skewer both were very good Although hubby isn’t a fan of skin on fries. My only gripe was the price of the house wine starting at £25, would probably just get a large glass next time. All in all though a very pleasant visit with a nice ambiance and decent food. Would definitely return.

Our regular haunt 3 colleagues who meet up once a month, varied tastes, we have never been dissapointed in our choices all prepared to an excellent level. However it is, while being a very nice building, remains a favourite eatery because of the chefs and waiting on staff, full praise to them.

Just a little disappointed with mums food this evening. She wanted spaghetti carbonara, a small portion as her appetite is not what it was. The other two meals were up to the usual high standard which is why I’ve rated five stars overall but four stars for food quality. We did raise this with our server who tried to correct the situation with more carbonara sauce and we also mentioned it when we paid the bill. Service was brilliant to balance this review.

Food was delicious but it's miles more expensive than anywhere else in the area. We had a discount code and it was still best part of £70 for two people.

Roasted potatoes were far too hard couldn’t even cut then. The green beans were hard and you couldn’t cut them either and the lamb was very tough

Truly a good visit, from start to finish. Super atmosphere, attentive staff, great , reasonably priced food and a bonus dessert from a very honest young man, who cared about his guests experience. Thank you, the basque cheesecake was lovely 😁

I recently visited here on a Tuesday and it was ‘steak night’! I ordered the rump steak as it was larger than the fillet I normally have! Well it may as well have been prime fillet! No fat or gristle , soft and tender and cooked to perfection! I have been going to this restaurant for years and I can honestly say the food never disappoints! The staff are truly amazing too. Nothing is too much and always happy smiling faces. Special thanks to James , one of the managers who went above and beyond to make sure our visit was fabulous. If you want good food , non extortionate prices and a great atmosphere, visit here!

EGO is a chain of restaurants that cater for your comfort food of fish and chips or pizza, aswell as steaks, hanging kebabs, seabass etc. The desert menu is also very enticing. Nice atmosphere, excellent staff, great food.

Visited Fri evening at 6.30, by time we left at 8.30 the place was buzzing. Food delicious - garlic mushrooms very tasty & fillet steak cooked to perfection. Staff friendly and professional Great food, definitely recommend

Visited the Fox & Cub at Longton today we were greeted with a warm welcome by front of house and asked what we would like to drink once shown to our table,No fuss about our small dog Bow and they even made of fuss of our 1 year old son Archie (that never really happens in hospitality) Ordered the Garlic mushrooms off the a la carte menu they were excellent very tasty and had the chicken supreme off there set menu which to was excellent my partner had the fillet steak "excellent". Our desert choices were creme brulee and sticky toffee pudding with custard all was superb! And not forgetting Archie's meal Breaded chicken goujons chips & peas he ate the lot, Good pint of Amstel 👍 What more could you ask for a nice pub with friendly cheerful staff a warm welcome great food and service and dog friendly area's for our 4 legged friends 🐾🐾 🐕 Also very warm a must for January 👍

It's been a long time since we have been here Thought we should give It another try Price really good but it is for January only Like a lot of other places are doing after Christmas The menu still basically the same after all the years it has been open It would be nice to see a change

60th birthday on 26th December 2023. 6 people. Table booked 6 weeks ago. 10% anticipated tip given to staff at Strat to ensure evening was a lovely time. Chairs stored within 6ft of table and staff taking and returning chairs all night. Missing cutlery, Missing condiments. 15 empty glasses at one point on the table. Orders incomplete when delivered to table. Poor service. Cold coffees. BUT, they missed the birthday celebration part of the evening, I having asked them and being assured that it would happen. They gave us a discount, which they thought would keep me quiet. It was not the money, it was the lack of attentive service. Sloppy attention to detail. Staff not caring. Incomplete orders. One of our guests went 6 times to the serving area to get missing items. My wife wanted to eat after a lovely day of surprises. What a mistake I agreed to it. It ruined my planning of her day. Hand your heads in shame Ego.

Another visit to Ego and once again an all round great meal out. Top quality Sunday Roast highly recommended.

The worst service I have ever experienced, waited an hour for food that on arrival was cold, and the child's fish was so overcooked you couldn't cut it, we sent that back and the second attempt was an uncooked version. Manager couldn't be bothered weather we were satisfied or not. Appalling place.

Would have given 5 stars, but the bread was burnt that came with the pate.

Excellent food great atmosphere

Group booking for 10 came in at £36 a head for a mix of 2 and three courses with drinks. Service excellent and food well presented but very sparce vegetables with plenty of space obviously left for the 'sides' which we could have had (they were just shy of £5 each if I remember correctly). Veg isn't expensive so a roast dinner that is deliberately light in order to upsell felt a bit cheeky. What really needs fixing is the horrible smell coming from the corridor leading to the toilets (not the toilets themselves). All the plug in fresheners in the world couldn't disguise it so I am sure they will address it. Might all be different when you go but unlikely we will be back in short order.

Always have a fabulous meal at the Ego wether it be a la carte evening meal or a light lunch meal. Service as always top notch.

Great place for lunch, I was visiting Preston for the day and this place was very conveniently located nearby. Met an old friend for a pint, fish and chips and a coffee. All very good, well appointed dining area and busy so best to book in advance

Lovely atmosphere. Attentive staff. Clean. Will be back. Husband had beef roast dinner loved it. I had linguine verdure mine was very nice but lacked garlic. Would recommend.

Good pub food and a nice range of beers including real ales. The kebabs are their speciality and are the best hanging kebabs according to my daughter. There is also a wide range of other options including some vegetarian and vegan options. I had the steak pie which was absolutely filled with steak and extremely tasty. My wife had the chilli king prawn linguine which she said was one of the best that she had tasted. The decor and furniture are bright, clean and modern. Excellent, unhurried service. Sam, our waiter was brilliant. He was wonderful with our dog (who loved him) and very polite and friendly. To conclude it's a nice place to come and have a relaxed pub lunch or evening meal. BTW Monday to Saturday - 2 courses for just under £19, good value for excellent food.

Went for lunch on a busy Saturday. Despite being pretty full the staff were brilliant. Food didn’t take too long to arrive and everything was delicious. Thanks everyone at Ego.
