Had an incredible experience here today! Came with my sister and my niece who has is GF & Dairy allergy. Staff were so helpful and so kind, and brought her dinner out as soon as it was ready, and were so helpful in getting the brand name of the sausages which she loved and brought her over a little plastic fork and knife. So pleased we came for our dinner together here and will definitely be back! Thankyou so much to the man with the checkered shirt and rings on a chain round his neck, and the lady with long ginger hair, made our day!

It was brunchtime so my daughter and I both had eggs Benedict. Was lovely. Wouldn't hesitate to return

We were recommended here for nice breakfasts so thats what we tried and weren’t disappointed! Lovely friendly staff, super quick service too. Was nice and chilled atmosphere, i saw it was dog friendly as well. I love that you can get breakfast all day which is a rare find! Sausage butty was great, the big brunch was huge and well worth the money! Its funny as the decor and menu looked familiar and we twigged this is a chain as we’d eaten in another one of their restaurants in Plymouth (awful, don’t visit that one). Will definitely visit again.

I went here recently for the acoustic showcase, to listen to these great local musicians in such a pretty setting was really nice. I’ve been here previously for food and it’s always good but I just sat and had drinks with friends, enjoying the relaxed atmosphere and beautiful lighting. Can recommend :)

Really nice vegan menu, had the tapas and everything was nice. Portions could be bigger for the price but it tasted nice and lots of options. The main issue is having to pay extra for some plant milks. It's 2024, so many people choose plant milk and if you're lactose and soy intolerant, you still have to pay extra. In response to the reply: you can get oat milk for £1.50 and given I imagine you don't pay store prices, cheaper than that. It's really not a valid reason.

Food was awful, overpriced, furniture dirty, staff kept referring to everyone as guys. Shame as it looks nice from the outside. Could be so much more

Place was lovely can seat a lot of people so waiting was not an issue the place was just nice a cozy and the menus was massive and lots to choose from and the food was amazing ordered a breakfast which was Lovly and the pricing was very fair definitely recommend

I went to celebrate my 7 year old's birthday. They took payment and forgot to put order. I had a crying kid for 30 min and they didn't cared once to help or apologise. Only question asked was do you still want food?" Restaurant wasn't mostly empty (being Wednesday night). So it wasn't they were busy. With making a lounge and nicer place service and customer treatment, is pathetic Review is for poor staff service.

My wife recommended it as she had been a few times we were not disappointed the food was great and so was the service would definitely go back.Well done

This is a nice example of one of the Lounge Chains, of which I have been to a few now. The staff were friendly and efficient. It was very bright and open inside thanks to the duel aspect windows as it's on a corner. The usual array of random pictures and shabby cheek decor. The food was very good. Had the Lounge Bacon Cheese Burger and Butter Chicken, both excellent.

Pub like place. Lots of seating not too close together. Great menu lots of options, vegan and gluten free large menus. I loved that you can get breakfast all day. Bread fresh for the sandwiches and burgers fresh. Breakfast nice but forgot to add the eggs. Chips were cold but quickly fixed. Overall great place

Honestly my favourite place to go! The atmosphere is so calming and the food and drinks are never not good! Yet to have a bad meal here 🫶🏼

I popped in there today after shopping with my children, and was greeted by an older women and then seated near the window had a long wait at the bar as this older women was talking with friends and hugging a guy while she was working. Was finally served by a young women who was polite. And then after about 15 minutes went up and ordered food. When the food came out by this older women she had alot of unnecessary attitude and really doesn't seem a customer friendly person, the sides I order where very small even the fires 😂 I like this place and have been before just had better service and it was better value for money which is what everyone is looking for. I hope these issues can be changed and if I return I do hope the experience is alot better. Sorry but things need to be said so change happens.

We came for an evening meal and enjoyed the 'small plates'. The bang bang cauliflower is lovely. This place has really nice decor and atmosphere. It's not luxury or gourmet, but nice and affordable for a meal for two. Would come back!

Eaten here a few times with a group of friends. Previously … the experience was fine. Today, I ordered my food and drink as did my friends. Their food arrived before mine did and 20 mins after I ordered, I was told one of the ingredients for my dish had run out. Would I like to order something else? When my new order finally came, my friends had finished. To add to the poor experience, the food was cold (it should have been hot). The Server did offer a complimentary drink as I’d waited so long … I declined this. So - a very disappointing experience.

Friends had brunch, egg was forgotten on the fry up, but the rest was yummy. I had garlic and Parmesan fries which I would highly recommend. I had a double chocolate Oreo milkshake which was really disappointing. It was really thin and didn’t have much flavour at all. Would have expected a lot more for nearly £5. Interesting interior but is a nice place for a quick drink, or any type of food occasion.

Bustling restaurant/pub/coffee house. Menu varied and different to what you can get elsewhere. Staff polite and welcoming.

Had a great evening at Romano Lounge! We would definitely come again; it was a relaxing evening, and Aiden behind the bar was very polite and made us lovely cocktails!

Rude staff member - as we had 2 wheelchairs, plenty of room but very unaccommodating, made to feel completely unwelcome, left before eating in disgust with another group of unhappy customers !!

Loud music but doable. What was mindblowing was an understaffed staff with a misplaced ego and attitude especially those 3 women behind the bar; preparing drinks but totally ignoring customers by saying: "we're too busy"🤯 And that was enough lounge at Romano for us.

Friendly and helpful staff. Very good choice of menu. Food was tasty and good value. Great atmosphere. Would recommend.

The staff are so lovely and accommodating! They even entertained my cheeky monkey of a son as he made noises at them and they all done it back! Really great team in there and the food is excellent 😊

Everything about this place is amazing! The food is delicious and portions are adequate to the price you pay. The customer service is perfect. I love the vibe - all the different lamps and art works look fabulous. Certainly recommend to anyone who wants a nice lunch or a pint of beer of delicious iced coffee.

Not pleasant food was awful had chicken Kiev and salad you call that a salad bit green and tomato that's not salad need to put bit effort in salad very poor

The Tuesday offer of tapas plus a glass of wine is a very good deal.

I am order tuna sandwich taste is okay but not perfessional also they mistake put salad i don't want to salad so lady keep say sorry and I feel rip off price expensive! I think it won't come again in the future

Popped in for a burger, which tasted good but didn't ooze a homemade vibe. Ordered online via QR code, which felt like it took an age. It's possible to order at the bar, and that would have been quicker. I was impressed staff came to double-check my requirements. All in all, it is a friendly, quiet place to stop by for lunch.

A really good breakfast. Massive portion for the same price as a standard hotel breakfast. Great vegiterian options. Would come here again!

Recently went here and was really disappointed with the food. Waited ages at the bar to order with only one person in front. We had the flatbreads, some with chicken and others with lamb. Three out of the four had the flatbread literally so crispy you could not cut it, instead you snapped it or chisel at it. Flatbread should be soft so you can roll it if you like. They also smothered with way too much of the sauces on top. Ordered fries which came in a mug and when we tipped them out, there were 11 fries, ridiculous. None of us finished our food. No one asked while eating if everything was ok and even when the waitress cleared, she must have noticed all the left food but yet still didn’t ask. Paid over £62 for the food which was awful and had way better in Wetherspoons for way less!

Lovely lively place and food is lovely I recommend the chicken souvlaki the tapas is also good! there are toys etc for kids and the staff are very friendly. Also dog friendly xx

I refuse to give 5 stars due to problem with the door. It's freezing outside and the door seems to be left open constantly! Several costumers had to get up to close it. Its not acceptable that in the middle of the winter costumers are expected to have dinner in the cold. Sort the door out! Surely you can invest and replace it with a door that closes itself! Employees seem oblivious to it all. Its a shame because the food is good and the location too.

Love this Cafe for a reasonably priced and delicious lunch! The service was a bit slow as it was very busy and was a Saturday, however the food was lovely and the atmosphere is always nice and cosy.

Took a while to be seated but the service was immaculate after. Atmosphere was so good, food was great and the cocktails were banging will definitely be returning

We went for a coffee. The service was ok but the drinks w ere cold. The tables were dirty, and the loos either had no working loo roll container or a broken toilet seat.

Tried an eggs benedict for the first time, and it was lovely. The staff were welcoming. The decor was amazing. A very unique place with good food at a great price.

The food was fantastic. I had the bang bang chicken, and my wife had buttermilk chicken all arrived piping hot and within 15-20 minutes of ordering.

Had previously been to another Lounge and really enjoyed it, was expecting a similar experience but it just wasn't as good, the food was ok , not great and the service the same, the restaurant felt a bit cramped.

An enjoyable lunch , will definitely return.

Has potential, but the details are missed, milkshake was just cold milk, flat white was just a small latte, couldn't get the order right given 3 chances. My curried chicken burger was awesome, maybe a smaller menu and attention to detail/training is needed and it'll be an amazing spot to eat. Staff where all really friendly.

A bustling cafe with a great vibe and delicious food. Plenty on offer with a huge menu including kids and vegan food. What was great was that the portions are not ridiculously big, but still good value. So we all finished our meals without feeling too full. However, service was a bit haphazard and you can’t order kids food via the QR code so you have to order at the bar and that took a while.

The food was pretty good. Service was ok. The atmosphere was pretty loud and hard to hear. The floor really needs a strip and wax as my chair felt glued to the floor.

Thrilled a 'Lounge' has opened in Colchester. We've always loved the one in Sudbury and are happy there is one so close to home. You must try it.

We had our work Xmas party at Romano Lounge on 7th December. Everything was perfect. The service was amazing, food was brilliant, drinks were brought over promptly. First time we've had a Xmas party and felt excited about rebooking for the following year. Josie kept good contact in the run up, making sure all plans and details were sorted, so that the night went smoothly. Perfect.

Relaxed atmosphere and very tasty food

Absolutely Amazing!!!! Romona Lounge have hosted our Christmas Breakfast two years in a row and on both occasions it has been fantastic. Hosting 50 people for breakfast can’t be easy but Lisa(manager) and Ryan(head chef) were just great and have made it a really successful event. The staff had a lovely time and the array of options were great. The food tasted delicious and the staff had great things to say. They definitely go above and beyond and we are definitely looking forward to returning next year. If you’re considering doing a cooperate/work breakfast Romona Lounge is the ideal place to host it. Thanks Lisa, Ryan and the team for such a lovely breakfast.

Our store booked Romano Lounge Colchester for our annual Christmas breakfast get together. The food was outstanding, beautiful traditional cooked breakfast and also toast and pastries. Endless tea and coffee, orange and apple juice. Brilliant service from the staff 👏. Hope to do it again next year

We had our Xmas party at the Colchester restaurant and it was amazing ,food delicious the staff friendly and atmosphere perfectly matched to the festive season Just to mention a few names Lisa’s,Josie and Max as they helpfully put the show together

A lovely restaurant with so many options to eat. So happy to see that the gluten-free menu is the same size as the regular menu!! The food is delicious and service is very friendly.

Great place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Service always great, they have a really good selection of drinks and the food is always good whatever you order. The atmosphere is really nice with lots of art, fun decorations, lights including fairy lights, that make everything very warm and cosy. Absolutely would recommend coming here!

Highly recommend this lovely place. The smell enticed us in, and i cant fault anything. Only small gripe i like ENGLISH mustard. And being gluten intolerant the extensive GF stand alone menu is brilliant

It was a Sunday and lots of items were unavailable. Service is OK but you order on the app, which we do not like. Still had to go up to the bar anyway. It's a little expensive for what it is.
