Sunday dinners are awful. Very dry , microwave tasting in my opinion.

We had a lunch on 23/02/24. My Sunday roast wasn't what I expected at all. Beef wasn't hot enough, gravy was just water and powder , no proper flavour in it. Roast potatoes looked blanched in the fryer, carrots very bland, cabbage awful, turkey super dry. My wife had surf a turf, calamari was so overcooked that it was like a dry crispy pork scratching, beef was ok but not seasoned, My kids had chicken burger and beef burger meal. Side of beans was a literally a table spoon! Chicken was dry, overcooked, beef burger was so hard my son could not bite in to it. Beefeater was normally ok in the past but after sending £58 for this really poor meal we won't be back again. There is kfc down the road that probably offers better Sunday meal than this absolutely awful experience. Cannot fault service in beefeater tho. Girls were very good.

Came out today for dinner my mum had a roast dinner she asked for her beef to be well done and it came out cold and the chips was stone cold and the Brussels were as well I had the steak sampler the steaks was cold and the chips was freezing my dad had a half ribs they came out on a dog tray and we all had carling and the beer was flat I will not be visiting beefeater again

We went to Beefeater on Sunday last week. I have never been in Beefeater before in my life . Service was good, staff was friendly, but the food wasn't the greatest 😕 I ordered the 74 mixed plater, but the quality of the ribs was dreadful, which made me feel like I was having Tesco ribs , the chiken brest was very dry I thought quality on meet would be higher standard my Mrs had her vegan Burger she said it was okey nothing exciting, & my daughter Ten VEG PAST well she is 2 yewrs old so not much of a comment on that I forgot to take picture of the starter but nut much of a different we had breaded mushrooms the where very tiny mushrooms very watery possibly frozen mushrooms , we had potato dippers which basically was potato wedge & mozzarella on top.

We had a lovely couple of days eating at the Lincoln Beefeater. Our server (for both nights )was James, who looked after us with professionalism whilst also being very personable. He made our stay comfortable and we’d definitely come back. The food was fabulous and priced well. Thanks James - see you again soon

This place used to be really hit and miss, but I’ve found us visiting a lot more recently and the food and service is always exceptional. Keep up the great work!

The food was not great, it was cold. Our server was really friendly. We ate and left. Probably won't return.

We only stayed for one night and had an evening meal, and breakfast in the restaurant. We were served by a lovely lady called Simmone, she was very cheerful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. However, I am a coeliac and found the menu very limited for choice. I couldn't understand why a chain of restaurants couldn't offer a gluten free roll? At least I could have had a burger and chips instead of a chicken breast which was unfortunately over grilled and very dry. In contrast, the breakfast menu was excellect. Another member of staff called Chloe who had very good knowledge of allergies and food intolerance, greeted us with a smile and was friendly when we turned up for breakfast. An excellent front of house who offered me a fresh cooked breakfast, which I did decline as each dish had it's own serving spoons. If it hadn't been for the lack of choice on the menu for evening GF meals, I would have given 5 stars.

I recently visited Roman Way Beefeater and had an overall enjoyable experience, largely thanks to the excellent service provided by Chloe and Beth. Them two were friendly, attentive, and genuinely eager to make sure we had everything we needed. Chloe went above and beyond, when the chicken grill was served raw, not cooked. Thank you to the chef and his kitchen team for preparing quickly a replacement plate for us. However, the service from the other members of staff left much to be desired. While Chloe and Beth shone, a few of the other team members seemed distant and unwelcoming. We were met with little to no interaction from them, and at one point, a staff member walked past without acknowledging us, despite making eye contact. We waited a while to be setted. It felt cold compared to the warm atmosphere that Chloe and Beth created. Overall, it’s clear that the restaurant has some standout employees like Chloe and Beth who could teach others about customer service. I would probably return only because of their exceptional service, but I hope the rest of the staff can follow suit and create a more consistently welcoming environment for all guests.

On entry for breakfast service we were not informed of the coffee machine being broken, so had to have instant coffee rather than cappuccino and lattes, sausages tasted like sausages that used to come with beans in a tin, not the quality they used to be, price now 11.49 per breakfast and couldn't even have a proper coffee, have been coming here for years, but never returning again after such poor food and lack of information about the coffee machine being out of order, would not have started breakfast if we knew e couldn't have a coffee with it. Could they have not offered a coffee from the coffee machine behind the bar instead of putting nescafe sachets out as a replacement?

First time visiting and will be the last, staff miserable, upon sitting down we were asked within a minute what we wanted to drink ( can I have I second to look at the drinks menu ) we were then given a list of things not available which was quite a bit. When the food arrived it was very disappointing ( apart from the skin on fries) a side salad for a child arrived with only 2 pieces of cucumber and nothing else. The price for what you got was extremely high.

Stopped in here while staying at the Premier Inn for work. The staff were really friendly and the food was superb.

I visited for breakfast and there is lots to choose from at the buffet style breakfast.

Nice meal here only problem seemed to be problem swapping garden peas for something else as I dont like them. Loads if excuses come on offer a flexible customer service

I arranged a Family meal with a 25% Discount from Beefeater, which they have refused to honour. I will never use Beefeater again and intend on spreading their Corporate Dishonesty to all and sundry. Disgusted at their blatant scamming

Really poor visit. Food was poor. Service was good, atmosphere non existent as sat in a large room at the back of the restaurant by ourselves.

Visited Saturday teatime, fairly busy restaurant. Staff all really pleasant and efficient. Good service to seat us and serve. Food good quality and currently vouchers with money off - what’s not to like? Only scored food down as no coleslaw with my ribs! Well done all the team at Newark, it was a refreshing restaurant visit- you are all very polite and have been trained well. Also nice to be able to have conversation at table without loud music drowning you out!

Don't normally do reviews but I have had a breakfast several times over the last few weeks and just wanted to highlight how brilliant the staff are in the mornings always happy friendly and extremely helpful.

After booking a table for 5:45 it took 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged us and even longer to be seated. After being seated we had to wait a further 15 minutes to be served and then another 10 minutes for us to get our 2 drinks. When asked how long our food was going to take we was quoted 15-20 minutes, 35 minutes later we still had not received any food. After asking one of the servers how long it would be she went and brought the food out to us. I had the ‘steak sampler’ ordered medium rare, when it came out some of the steak was medium well while others were well done. I asked for a new steak which then took 12 minutes to come back out. My partner ordered the chicken and rib combo, the chicken was extremely dry and the ribs had absolutely no taste. Will not be visiting again.

Good for breakfast. Help yourself so not as hot as ordered meal but ok.

We've been regulars here for years. Chloe,Chris and the team never fail to deliver. Good food, good beer and wine,excellent clean restaurant with a nice friendly staff and atmosphere. Thank you Louise too. If I had any small criticism at all, it would be the limited choice of sauce. Not everyone likes peppercorn. Minor point though, great place to eat and relax.

It's a Beefeater so you roughly know what is coming, this is a good one, food was lovely...

Staff were great and helped with the doors for my Mum's wheelchair without me asking, toilets clean but the place needs an update. Very dark and dull. Pleased I sat near a window. Food was mediocre but inexpensive. Mum enjoyed it. She has been many times before and likes it here.

I've never experienced this spiteful level of service before. Called in for my sons birthday breakfast this morning and asked the elderly service lady for a breakfast. She took my partner to the bar for payment while i held our 2 year old birthday boy. Once she took payment she walked us over to the breakfast area she then told us breakfast finishes in 10 minutes. In shock we asked for a refund and why she didn't feel the need to tell us this before she took our money. She told us we couldn't have a refund but did have 10 minutes to eat breakfast. 5 minutes later she gave us the 5 minute finish up warning breakfast was over. I thought a chain like beefeater wouldn't scam families. Even Mcdonalds warn you of breakfast is ending before taking your money. Beefeater = Scammers and this elderly service girl seem to find the situation she put our family in funny.

We were in the area for a holiday. Food was top class for a budget diner. So good we repeated the meal the next evening. Staff were super friendly.

Very basic, limited parking. No atmosphere. Staff were good enough but food was awful. Small portions, chips dry, squirty cream. Just disappointing really. Need to up the food standard

Never seen such a chaotic breakfast service in my whole life, huge queue at a 4 foot serving hatch, food swimming in grease which was cold and tasteless when i eventually got it back to the table, coffee from the machine was tepid, frozen bread at the toast machine, no pastries, terrible value for money

Changed a bit since last visit hence upgrading of score! Pay on entry, which is no problem. This is due to too many dishonest people walking out without paying. This has allowed a self service breakfast which speeds things up to no reduction of quality or service. Food good quality and excellent value for money. Less interaction with staff but all were polite, friendly and helpful. Recommended 👍.

Rich is a great barman and waiter: uncommonly attentive, friendly, and good humoured, especially considering there was a corporate gathering going on while I was in. Food was also good - Rich recommends the Smokehouse Tomato Dip and he is 100% correct.

Excellent meal from the evening fixed menu. 3 courses & drinks for 2 plus a few extras for under £55. Perfect

Looks very shabby from the outside but ok on entering. Good service throughout, food arrived quickly, steak over done from end medium requested. Price is average. Staff seem to think they'll be switching to a premier inn hotel where it will be hotel guests only in the near future.

Just your average Beefeater, decent service, decent food, decent place. Good A1 pitstop or for people visiting Newark.

Very disappointing. 7oz gammon steak was over half of it fat and gristle and inedible. Also plate was swimming in grease from the fried egg. Mentioned to waitress, to be told "oh sorry about that" and cleared table. No offer of a manager nothing. Only when i checked bill/receipt in car on way home was i made aware that i could have asked for duty manager. Bathrooms hadnt been cleaned/checked in a while, floors were scruffy and tissue everywhere. Won't be returning and would recommend others don't visit. Only saving grace was that the skin on fries were well cooked.

We were pleasantly surprised by the pub. We had meals from the £8 menu with grandson having a kids meal. The food was very well presented, very tasty and plenty of it, especially for the price. Service was fab, very friendly team, and efficient. The pub was quiet, we were there at 4pm, so can't comment on the atmosphere if it's busy. Would definitely recommend.

Tonight, myself, my wife, and my son went to the beefeater Roman way on the way back from a busy day and despite ot just initially being a pitstop, As soon as we arrived, we were welcomed by a nice chap called Richard he interacted with my son and put all of us at ease and made us feel at home whilst having a bit of banter, The food was amazing and was catered to our needs and exceeded all expectations but the service outshone the food by a country mile it was very efficient and so professional and no hassle whatsoever. Richard is a credit to your team and he should be a role model for all employees to look up to within the company rest assured we will be back and hopefully be served again by such a professional within the hospitality sector

The service was absolutely diabolical more atmosphere in a morgue had to wait forever for drinks they offer free refills on diet drinks but try getting hold of someone to refill your glass the food was bland took ages to come out and wasn't even busy so no excuse for that worst beefeater Iver been in avoid if you can get better service in the McDonald's next door

Went for a "quick" meal after work, arrived at a moderately busy restaurant but had booked a table for 7.30, and we're seated reasonably quickly and drinks order taken. Then waited 20 minutes for food order to be taken despite other tables that arrived later being seen, and drinks did not arrive until had been seated 35 minutes! Then witnessed more guests who must have waited 10 to 15 minute's at the door to be acknowledged and seated. Appeared very disorganised and lack of management. Previously have enjoyed a meal here but this has put us off returning anytime soon.

Just stopped by from a long journey on the A1. The Roman way just came up on the maps as a good restaurant with highly reviews. They made a happy family.

Very friendly staff and gorgeous food

We once came to this Beefeater many years ago and had a bad experience, it's not a local one to us unless we're passing through or visiting the area, we caused we wouldn't visit again!!...Fast forward to today, we went strawberry picking and fancied a nice pub meal, we didn't come across much that we fancied and 1 was pretty full, we then came across the infamous Beefeater! 😁.. we decided to give it another try, maybe they got better, had been taken over, who knows! We ordered our food which there was a little wait, but after all we did have the triple cooked chips haha, I must say the menu has since changed (not too much choice as I prefer) and although I thought a little pricey £13+, we did go at the weekend and was told there was a daytime menu in the week (for next time) i must say the food was really nice this time and Simone gave great Customer Service!! 👍 🤗

We always like to come and relax with a nice glass of wine after a busy week, and it's lovely when Jason the Barman always seems to remember our order even though we don't come every week.

Way too busy. Only one drinks machine. So waiting over 10 mins to get a coffee. Would not come here again

Arrived at 8.30pm, checked if the kitchen was still open and was told it was until 9pm. Parked the car, went into the restaurant to stand waiting to be seated for 10 minutes, with staff making eye contact on numerous occasions. Once a member of staff finally arrived at 8.45pm we were told that it would bar snacks only due to the kitchen closing in 5 minutes (10 minutes earlier than originally told). We chose not to stay, left, and will not be returning.

Took the hubbie for Father's Day dinner, he had a mixed grill and I had Sunday lunch. We booked in at 12:00, to get in while it was quiet and to take advantage of the full availability of the menu. The only downside, was if been looking forward to pink lamb rump, only to be told, after ordering, that they had no lamb available. It was a company wide shortage. I was a little disappointed, but had beef instead. The meals were huge. It was all cooked really well. The veg withe the roast was really good, a really nice selection. Defo worth a visit.

Food was OK, Onion rings and chicken were a little over cooked but tasted OK. Service was very good considering there was only 1 front of house staff member to begin with

We came on the way back from the hospital. My wife had an operation and obviously didn't look too clever. Staff seated us in a quiet corner, treated her with kindness and respect. The food came promptly and was tasty as per the menu. So thank you to the staff.

We booked a table for two people at 6.00pm, but arrived early. Taken to a table, given menu and asked to place our order at the bar, due to being short staffed. Also left meal menu. I placed our order at the bar, one lasagne and one fish and chips. 1 bottle coke and one non alchoholic cocktail. All were very enjoyable. The food arrived very quickly. To say they were very short staffed, everything was dealt with very efficiently. Please pass on these encouraging remarks to all staff working today, especially the gentleman who took my order at the bar, he never stopped and dealt with orders very professionally.

Passing by the beefeater and popped in, was welcomed by a lovely server called Calvina. Absolutely amazing service we will definitely be returning. Food was great, steak cooked just right, fairly priced and came out quickly.

We called in at 8.45 last night. Asked for a table for 2 the girl started to show us to a table ,just to be shouted at by 2 or 3 behind the bar we NOT SURVIÑG FOOD don't give them a table. Very unprofessional. How roooooooood
