Very disappointing. 7oz gammon steak was over half of it fat and gristle and inedible. Also plate was swimming in grease from the fried egg. Mentioned to waitress, to be told "oh sorry about that" and cleared table. No offer of a manager nothing. Only when i checked bill/receipt in car on way home was i made aware that i could have asked for duty manager. Bathrooms hadnt been cleaned/checked in a while, floors were scruffy and tissue everywhere. Won't be returning and would recommend others don't visit. Only saving grace was that the skin on fries were well cooked.

Food was good value for money. The best part of the experience was the server Robert who had a great sense of humour. It was nice to be served by someone who had a smile on their face and clearly enjoyed their job. Will come again purely for the experience - thanks!🤩

We were pleasantly surprised by the pub. We had meals from the £8 menu with grandson having a kids meal. The food was very well presented, very tasty and plenty of it, especially for the price. Service was fab, very friendly team, and efficient. The pub was quiet, we were there at 4pm, so can't comment on the atmosphere if it's busy. Would definitely recommend.

Tonight, myself, my wife, and my son went to the beefeater Roman way on the way back from a busy day and despite ot just initially being a pitstop, As soon as we arrived, we were welcomed by a nice chap called Richard he interacted with my son and put all of us at ease and made us feel at home whilst having a bit of banter, The food was amazing and was catered to our needs and exceeded all expectations but the service outshone the food by a country mile it was very efficient and so professional and no hassle whatsoever. Richard is a credit to your team and he should be a role model for all employees to look up to within the company rest assured we will be back and hopefully be served again by such a professional within the hospitality sector

The service was absolutely diabolical more atmosphere in a morgue had to wait forever for drinks they offer free refills on diet drinks but try getting hold of someone to refill your glass the food was bland took ages to come out and wasn't even busy so no excuse for that worst beefeater Iver been in avoid if you can get better service in the McDonald's next door

Went for a "quick" meal after work, arrived at a moderately busy restaurant but had booked a table for 7.30, and we're seated reasonably quickly and drinks order taken. Then waited 20 minutes for food order to be taken despite other tables that arrived later being seen, and drinks did not arrive until had been seated 35 minutes! Then witnessed more guests who must have waited 10 to 15 minute's at the door to be acknowledged and seated. Appeared very disorganised and lack of management. Previously have enjoyed a meal here but this has put us off returning anytime soon.

Just stopped by from a long journey on the A1. The Roman way just came up on the maps as a good restaurant with highly reviews. They made a happy family.

Very friendly staff and gorgeous food

We once came to this Beefeater many years ago and had a bad experience, it's not a local one to us unless we're passing through or visiting the area, we caused we wouldn't visit again!!...Fast forward to today, we went strawberry picking and fancied a nice pub meal, we didn't come across much that we fancied and 1 was pretty full, we then came across the infamous Beefeater! 😁.. we decided to give it another try, maybe they got better, had been taken over, who knows! We ordered our food which there was a little wait, but after all we did have the triple cooked chips haha, I must say the menu has since changed (not too much choice as I prefer) and although I thought a little pricey £13+, we did go at the weekend and was told there was a daytime menu in the week (for next time) i must say the food was really nice this time and Simone gave great Customer Service!! 👍 🤗

Went for breakfast at 11 and turned away, sorry weve stopped serving food. What restaurant stops serving food in the middle of the day? Went lord ted instead.

We always like to come and relax with a nice glass of wine after a busy week, and it's lovely when Jason the Barman always seems to remember our order even though we don't come every week.

Way too busy. Only one drinks machine. So waiting over 10 mins to get a coffee. Would not come here again

Arrived at 8.30pm, checked if the kitchen was still open and was told it was until 9pm. Parked the car, went into the restaurant to stand waiting to be seated for 10 minutes, with staff making eye contact on numerous occasions. Once a member of staff finally arrived at 8.45pm we were told that it would bar snacks only due to the kitchen closing in 5 minutes (10 minutes earlier than originally told). We chose not to stay, left, and will not be returning.

Took the hubbie for Father's Day dinner, he had a mixed grill and I had Sunday lunch. We booked in at 12:00, to get in while it was quiet and to take advantage of the full availability of the menu. The only downside, was if been looking forward to pink lamb rump, only to be told, after ordering, that they had no lamb available. It was a company wide shortage. I was a little disappointed, but had beef instead. The meals were huge. It was all cooked really well. The veg withe the roast was really good, a really nice selection. Defo worth a visit.

It's ok. Only ever come here when we have a voucher. Not sure I'd be happy paying full price.

We came on the way back from the hospital. My wife had an operation and obviously didn't look too clever. Staff seated us in a quiet corner, treated her with kindness and respect. The food came promptly and was tasty as per the menu. So thank you to the staff.

Food was OK, Onion rings and chicken were a little over cooked but tasted OK. Service was very good considering there was only 1 front of house staff member to begin with

We booked a table for two people at 6.00pm, but arrived early. Taken to a table, given menu and asked to place our order at the bar, due to being short staffed. Also left meal menu. I placed our order at the bar, one lasagne and one fish and chips. 1 bottle coke and one non alchoholic cocktail. All were very enjoyable. The food arrived very quickly. To say they were very short staffed, everything was dealt with very efficiently. Please pass on these encouraging remarks to all staff working today, especially the gentleman who took my order at the bar, he never stopped and dealt with orders very professionally.

Passing by the beefeater and popped in, was welcomed by a lovely server called Calvina. Absolutely amazing service we will definitely be returning. Food was great, steak cooked just right, fairly priced and came out quickly.

We called in at 8.45 last night. Asked for a table for 2 the girl started to show us to a table ,just to be shouted at by 2 or 3 behind the bar we NOT SURVIÑG FOOD don't give them a table. Very unprofessional. How roooooooood

I love this place, the staff are so friendly. The food is excellent too and live sport in the bar. Don't need much else.

If I could leave no stars, that’s what they would get. The service was diabolical. The bar lady who served us drinks was fine. The guy who was at the front desk was a little rude. Rather than showing us a free spot, he said you will have to look for a spot yourself. One table left, full of plates and empty glasses. When I asked the guy if it could be cleared, his response was, yeah when we get a minute. We ended up have to ask again to the bar lady, who did do it straight away. So then, the same guy brings out one of our orders and puts it on the table next to it. 15 minutes later, when he returned, he was told that was not what was ordered, he stated, I will get a fresh one made. Then my order came out, a mixed grill, not to bad, could have been better for the £18.99 I paid. I had finished and another 30 minutes went by and still no other part of our order. We had to ask where it was. Then when it finally came, it was the same one that was given to the wrong table over 45 minutes previous. Definitely do not recommend and will not be going back. 0/5

One of the coldest days in April probably for 20 years Radiators on full blast Air-conditioning set on sub artic setting Not one member of staff had any idea how to control the heating Left to buy a thermal jacket so I could finish my meal before I died of thermal shock!

So cold and uncomfortable.Why? No-one seems to be in control of the air conditioning Had to leave .

We were served quickly, despite not having reserved a table. Our waitress was really lovely both efficient and pleasant . Sunday roast was perfect as was the salad .

The chicken was all bones and no Yorkshire pudding wouldn't go again for Sunday dinner

I just wanted to emphasise how brilliant the staff were especially Jason who is a massive asset to the restaurant. He was non stop from restaurant to bar taking orders and serving both in restaurant and bar. And still had time for a chat. If I had a business I definitely would have tried to steal him. I hope he is well looked after.

Had the roast dinner today but was very disappointed. Food virtually cold. Yorkshire pus very sloppy. " crispy " roast tates soft and soggy. Ves very bland. Don't like to post negative reviews but we have had some nice meal with you but left very disappointed today having spent over £100. Service was great as ever but let down badly by the kitchen staff.

Came in for a birthday meal with my partner. Was taken to our table by a young (ish) gentleman. Was served by a women called Louise who was very helpful. Our food came quick and was delicious. Would recommend coming here again.

Excellent value for money and friendly staff

Been there 2 times for the unlimited breakfast. Food was not bad, hash brown is better on busy day, cause they have to keep making fresh Fried one to remain full supply. The coffee machine makes coffee better than Cxxta or MccaXe, and it's unlimited.

Had ribeye steak very nice.. The best thick cut chips I've had from a pub chain...very hot as well. Staff very nice.

Decent menu at good prices especially weekday lunches

I visited this Beefeater on Sunday afternoon and we had a terrible experience. We were seated in the bar area, as we had been told that all tables were booked up, even though the restaurant seemed empty. They then seated a large, very loud family next to us. The children of this family were not supervised, and were constantly running around the restaurant, screaming and shouting, rolling around on the floor and stacking stools on top of one another. The staff witnessed this, and ignored all antisocial behaviour displayed by this family. When we asked if they could move us, after we saw multiple staff members witnessing and ignoring the family causing chaos, this wasn't an option. We now feel very apprehensive to visit this restaurant again. Very disappointing.

Went for breakfast on the 21st December which I enjoyed the today in the post received a parking charge for the carpark of 100 pounds Do Not Use this restaurant and pub ever again absolutely ridiculous terrible behaviour and will not be returning or paying and will advise everyone in the future Fuming

Have to say really not impressed with this place. Very expensive for very basic food. Our food came out cold twice!!!!!! I would not recommend.

We had the beefeater combo, salmon, prawn something, and pizza with 2 extras for the toddler who was with us. Well. For a start they brought all the food except the child's. Kind of standard to bring his at the same if not before if there must be an order because you can't have a baby watching others eating without giving to him, which happend in our case, so by the time his food was brought, he was already full. Alternatively, we could all wait and let out food go cold :/ The orders were incomplete, one of the extras and the dessert were forgotten. The salmon dish was ridiculously small for the price, and the beefeater combo was smaller than expected for the price paid. We practically came home hungry even after finishing the pizza of the baby as he was full by the time it was given to him.. we won't return. The quality of the food was very good, and the olace was child friendly.

We have had many meals in the Beefeater Roman Way Newark and have been very satisfied with both the quality food and service. However this year 25th December 2023 has been a very disappointing exception, after initially being seated we were ignored and I had to summon a waiter who happened to be near to place our order which had already been preordained via their Christmas Order Form. After each course was served we had to wait and wait, for example after the starter course it was half an hour before the plates were cleared and a further extended wait before the main course was served this was again after I had to summon a waiter. The main course when it eventually arrived was at best just warm indicating to me that it had been sat on the warming plate for some time before eventually reaching us. The same can be said for the desert course at least my apple pie was hot when it arrived my wife's desert was a Nickabocca glory so heat was not an issue what was the issue was the time both took to arrive and again only after I had to summon a waiter. The service and the quality of the food throughly ruined our Christmas Dinner I find this hard to understand and except, personally if I was the manager I would be appalled at what had happened.I and my wife are throughly and absolutely disgusted and disappointed by what you provided or I should say did not provided.

I would say that the food is over priced for the quality and portion size,I had to ask for more chips with my meal, and also more coleslaw as both were to small of a portion Service from the staff was lacking a waited on service expected at a restaurant,I got my own condiments as we weren’t asked if we would like any

We stopped here for lunch on our way in to Newark. Was very comfortable atmosphere and food was very good too. We would visit again.

Called for the festive menu, was a little disappointed that there was no turkey on. We had the sirloin and very pleased we did. Delicious mmmm then profiteroles and hubby had mint Sunday. Wow couldn't eat any more thankyou. Staff very friendly and courteous will definitely come back to Roman Way Newark. Merry Christmas to you all 😁
