Nice relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food, Service was attentive without being intrusive which made either a nice dining experience.

The food was amazing. The atmosphere was amazing. The staff was even better!

We were dining out for a team night out, by recommendation of one of our colleagues who had dined on several occasions. We received a warm welcome, with the hostess taking our coats and bags. Nothing was too much trouble. The table setting was comfortable and adequate for our group of colleagues. The table had the food and drinks menus available for us all. The various waitering staff were friendly and engaging. Our drinks orders were taken in a timely manner and then afterwards our dimmer order was placed, all of them with a smile. We had water, with cucumber, topped up throughout the meal. The food served was second to none, credit to the chef. I went for the Haggis Bonbons and Park Belly on recommendation and what a treat! A perfect atmosphere and setting for a small group or small gathering, date etc. Thank you to the team for making sure we were made to feel at home and comfortable during our meal.

Portions were small and expensive. A large plate was the size of a side plate. Paid £40 for one course (“large plate” and a portion of chips” and one alcoholic drink. The chips were pale and not cooked properly.

Been going for ages, consistent. Fix the door!!Won't stop us, might others.

Really pleasant experience, great wines and amazing dishes. Food was flavoursome and tasty. Pork belly was my personal favourite. Really looking forward to being back at Rollo. (Service was a tiny bit slow...I felt like we had to wait a bit too long before they took our order or got our first drinks)

We had a great lunch here. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the food was delicious. We had the king prawn starter and the tempura haddock and king prawn curry for mains. The tempura broccoli side dish is amazing and highly recommended to share. Sadly pregnant or I’d have tried a cocktail or two as the cocktail menu looked great too.

Overpriced, Overrated, Cold, Lacking in Atmosphere, Portions Very small, Food Over salted.This is NOT a Tapas bar! When I mentioned to staff that the food was Way too salty, I was informed (with attitude!)that perhaps Rollo was not for me.Well they got that bit right. Avoid at all costs folks it's Not Good, Go elsewhere.

Food was great. Don't sit next to the door during winter because it is cold. Only 1 alcohol free lager and no alcohol free beer.

This restaurant is a Gem. From start to finish the service was gracious, professional and friendly. Great wine list. Lamb & Bleu cheese bon bons very tasty. Mains of tempura haddock and the cod had a great unique taste. Tempura broccoli and the potatoes dauphinoise were an additional plus. Bread & butter pudding was exquisite. Very rich Americano coffee to end the meal. We will be back

I've eaten in many good and very good restaurants during my travels as a singer in Europe, but ROLLO was incredible. In every respect it was a delight. My wife was also more than thrilled. Top gastronomy… As a welcome there was a glass of cucumber water at the table, which was constantly refilled. Culinary extraordinaire; Service: competent, friendly, warm, funny; Ambience perfect; Music in the background: exactly my thing (it's because of my generation 🤩) Price/performance: absolutely fine. The ROLLO is absolutely top 👍🏻

Tourists visiting Edinburgh. Hotel Concierge recommended based on our request for a locally owned and operated restaurant with wonderful food and atmosphere. ROLLO’s did not disappoint. Views of the historic street and great curated drink and menu selections made our evening special. Service is comfortable, patient, and descriptive. My wife of 33 years and I highly recommend!

It started the moment we walked in as I took in the fun style. It continued as we were greeted by with a cherry "Hello, darlings!" and were seated. It didn't stop there as our order was taken and we received great, friendly guidance for our questions about the menu. They kept our water glasses full and our finished plates were quickly cleared from the table. Then there's the food. It was excellent! My wife loved her crispy pork belly plate and I was thrilled with my prawns in Thai green curry bowl. We also both really enjoyed the dauphinoise. The creme brulee was great, but the Bread and Butter pudding stole the show. It was one of the most delicious desserts we've had anywhere. If we ever return to Edinburgh, I hope to come back to ROLLO.

Nestled towards the top of Edinburgh’s Broughton Street, the muted gray blues of Rollo’s exterior house exquisitely crafted tapas with savory taste to match. We were late afternoon, so we opted for all small bites; we enjoyed all of it, but the haggis bonbons are a don’t miss. Their sticky toffee bread pudding is probably the best we had on this visit. Pricey? Maybe for some but the delish options and quaint & cozy atmosphere met the standard we paid for. Service was meh, maybe a bit more passive than we’re used to in Edinburgh, but not unfriendly. Give Rollo’s a go when you’re in the fringe east end of New Town next - doubt you’ll regret it.

Absolutely beautiful food (the best tapas we have ever had - can’t fault it at all), and very friendly staff! The cocktails were also perfect. Thank you so much, had a lovely evening whilst visiting Edinburgh.

Half the meal was excellent, half lacked any kind of flavour. The dauphinois was delicious, the heritage carrots were great. The tuna was dry and flavourless - and at £20 you would expect there to be more than just a spoon of salsa on the side. We ordered to bulk up the meal, but this was rubbery and had a little boiled garlic inside which added no flavour. It honestly tasted like it had been blasted in the microwave for 5 minutes. We mentioned it wasn’t great to the staff but he shrugged it off and we didn’t see him again - which is fair because this was the end of the fringe and I’m guessing everyone is a bit done. Overall the evening felt hostile and cold. If you’re ordering the buttery, rich dishes you’ll have a good time but avoid anything zesty and sharp.

Great experience, found by accident was very impressed. If your ever in Edinburgh you check it out.

A really nice, intimate restaurant and my food was delicious - I thoroughly enjoyed it. Knocked a star off as the portions were a bit small for the price, but otherwise very good. I'd go back.

Just amazing. I ordered the Halloumi bowl and it was simply delicious. Excellent service and great atmosphere and music. Highly recommend this place.

The BEST (maybe only?) Dirty Martini in Edinburgh! Forget St James Centre and come here for you East End dinner and cocktail experience!

Absolutely recommend! I was a bit unsure what wine to choose, so the server gave me two samples based on what I like, so I could pick. Such great service! The food was marvelous, with great taste-combinations. Many deliceous dishes to choose from! The servers were all so attentive and kind (and cheerful). We will definitively come back.

Wonderful small place. The haggis bon bons were fabulous. I had the beef and my husband had the scallops. We both cleaned our plates but saved room for dessert.

One of those rare experiences where every single mouthful was a delight. Would highly recommend this restaurant, pleasant surroundings and relaxing atmosphere, and the food was exceptional. Will definitely find time to go there again. Better book beforehand, though.

Hands down my favourite place to eat in Edinburgh The haggis Bon Bon’s with whiskey marmalade is my favourite thing off of the menu, it is incredible! I had the beef for my main and it was cooked to perfection. I always have to get the tempura tenderstem broccoli as it is just delicious! It is a little on the pricey side however the food really reflects its price as well as the service and the drinks! Highly highly recommend!

LOVE this little gem we randomly found for a late Sunday "brunch"...more for the bubbles. John was fabulous and recommended the dauphinoise to go with the fillet...WOW! Both were delicious! We splurged on the bread and butter pudding for dessert...DO NOT SKIP THIS! It's a cute little spot that I would love to visit again.

We had an amazing experience in this restaurant. We tried more than 10 of the dishesh together and each and every one of them was super delicious. The staff were really helpful and attended to us throughout the dinner. We spent more than two hours in the restaurant and the staff kept checking on us to make sure we had everything that we might need. The food is also really good for the uniqueness and the quality that you get. I cannot recommend this place enough if you want to have a unique experience in a nice place.

A wonderful evening for a friend's birthday. The spicy king prawns were delicious, with sides of hand cut chips and broccoli in a blue cheese dressing. Finished of with the amazing bread and butter pudding. 10/10

Visited Rollo based upon a recommendation from a native Scotsman. Was told the Crispy Haggis Bon bons were excellent. He wasn’t wrong. My roast pheasant main was outstanding as was my wife’s beer battered haddock.

3 ladies lunched at Bar Rollo. Delicious food and relaxed environment. We totally forgot to take photos of the mains .. which were so well presented and tasted device. We're planning to come back soon!

I've been to this place maybe a dozen times since it opened and it is always, consistently... brilliant. An enticing menu of dishes that always deliver more than you expect, layers and layers of flavour and texture. Comfortable, well thought out room, warm and efficient service, good wines and an excellent espresso martini - it's just great.

A superb, modern and comfortable contemporary restaurant. Excellent standard of food, wine and the coffee is especially good. Cracking tunes also helped create a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Recommended.

We had cocktails on valentines day and it was so lovely. The musics, the stuff and the goddess figures everywhere 🥰😍😍 I will definitely go there for a dinner too as i sniffed so good smells from the next table. One thing I can suggest to increase vegan options but that is mentioned as they take the cheese of some dishes and they are vegan.

Thought it was a great atmosphere and very professional service. Little touches cleaning tables between courses made a difference. Not the cheapest but value for money. Will definitely be back and have already recommended 👌

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Vegan food needs to be negotiated because there is not many options available in the menu. Portions are very small, but charming. Mocktails made by the super amazing bartender , Scott (from Scotland ☺️).

We were visiting Edinburgh in November and decided to book dinner in Rollo. We were so glad we did. This is a really atmospheric and intimate bar restaurant. It's quite small but not too small and this just adds to the whole vibe. Similarly don't be put off by how dark it looks from outside, it adds to the intimate feel of the place once inside. The staff are lovely and the food is delicious. You must try the haggis bon bons with whiskey marmalade. Brilliant starter. Similarly, as other reviewers have said, the belly pork was perfect. There's a really good wine selection and a wide range of cocktails too. So if you're looking for a place to have an intimate dinner, with great food, atmosphere and service, look no further!

The food portion is too small considering the price. Also, sesame tuna is too salty. My lips hurt after this meal because of the salt. Haggis bon bon is passable.

Delicious food with wonderful staff! While the food is on the pricier end, the flavors are outstanding. As many others have mentioned, their pork belly is simply divine. The servers are incredibly kind and warm, and I truly enjoyed my time there. I would recommend making a reservation as the place does get rather packed. The restaurant's ambiance is dark and cozy with lively music playing.

Rollo is lovely and excellent dishes. The staff and service is impeccable. I had a broken arm, and not only were they very accommodating, one of the servers helped me cut my baby bok choy. Atmosphere is cool and casual.

Very professional service, nice to have waiting staff so efficient yet friendly. Food was really tasty too and the place was very clean and well styled.

Lovely stop near the Old Town area of Edinburgh. The tables are a bit close together, which made it a bit noisy with big groups. I had the potato dauphine and the pork belly, about £29 total without a drink. The plates are small, but the staff is very kind. I would definitely come back on a less busy night.

Really fine food and service was exemplary; Charlie was one of the finest and most informed hosts I have ever dealt with! Thai curry shrimps were fantastic, as was the broccoli tempura style; kudos to the chef!The meal ended with fabulous bread pudding! Amazing wine list!

The food is great for the price ! It’s very tasty and well thought. I can easily recommend the Korean Meatballs starter and the Pork Belly main dish! Skip the gratin dauphinois if you’re French 😂 The restaurant is nicely decorated in a friendly cozy atmosphere. However, the room was too cold from the AC, and the music very hit or miss and at times too loud to talk easily.

We received a voucher for Rollo as a wedding gift, and what a gift... we loved it. It was a wonderful evening of great food, cocktails, and wine. The service was second to none! A small, intimate restaurant with a nice vibe.

A lovely local restaurant, food was excellent. A mix of small bites and larger plates, we shared the haggis bonbons and broccoli with blue cheese, both were excellent, followed by belly pork and rabbit ravioli, good portion size and fab flavours. We also shared some chips which were a little disappointing, as a little pale and soft. However, overall a fab restaurant with friendly and attentive staff, would not hesitate to revisit!

It is ok but maybe too hipsterized. A lot of experimentation is going on but results may be mixed

I went for the first time last night. The atmosphere, food, drinks and service were incredible. Couldn’t fault it. The chicken thigh tortilla and tender stem broccoli with blue cheese was insane. Thank you to Anka and Patricia for looking after us so well.
