The pizza here are great and they also have other wood fired non pizza goodies to order if pizza isn’t your thing. Also the online ordering system works flawlessly.

Pizza and salad ok. Milkshake good. Delivered in great time. But lasagne had no pasta?!? Just tomato sauce and cheese. Called to give feedback. ‘Sorry you don’t like it.’ As if it’s normal to have no pasta and odd to question that?!?

Really good pizzas delivered very quickly and all piping hot. Great value . Highly recommend the Quattrp Formage which is my favourite and not readliy available in most Pizza restaraunts these days at least not where we live !

We had a take away here based on a recommendation. Ordering was very straightforward via the app and our order was ready the moment we walked through the door. The signature pizza and garlic bread were perfectly cooked, with a nice thin crispy base, generous toppings and great flavour. We also had a caesar salad which came with a generous amount of parmesan. It was great to be able to eat freshly made, stone baked pizza on the beach whilst watching the sun go down 😎.

Delicious pizzas, lovely thin crust and ample toppings. Far better than some of those well known chains.

We have never been disappointed by the quality of the Pizza's and Tuesday's special meal deal has become something of a regular event when we are staying in Sandgate.

Absolutely delicious authentic Italian pizza. We were staying in Sandgate for a couple of days and Roka was recommended. It did not disappoint. We ordered online for delivery to our accommodation. It arrived promptly and was lovely and hot. We had a variety of toppings and even had chocolate cake and ice cream for dessert! The pistachio ice cream was delicious. I visited my friend who has been a customer of Roka Pizza before and he suggested we get a takeaway from Roka to have on Sandgate beach. I have to say that the food and service was phenomenal. The food was piping hot, and ready exactly when we were told. We ordered from their brilliant app, but I also called after dinner to order pudding because the food was SO good. I had the 12" Quattro Formaggio, Lacoste (Roast potatoes baked and then topped with parmesan) and Garlic and Mozzarella Bread. All were perfectly cooked with delicious ingredients and we will be returning again for sure. For dessert I had a Banoffee Waffle, which was as brilliant as it sounds. The Madagascan Vanilla Gelato that came with is was also heavenly. The ice cream was smooth, with a scrumptious vanilla taste.

Very impressed with pizza. After loving Lubens in Folkestone, looked for another wood fire burning oven pizza place and Roka has been a fantastic place since we have been in lockdown and cant wait to visit it for real when can go abck to dining in! Pizza was fantastic and even the deserts (which I find is usually mediocre for Italian or pizza place) were fantastic.

Vegan salted chocolate caramel cake! Ah wohw! The ecstacy of St. Teresa of Avila is incapsulated in this cake.

So happy with the meal from here! I ordered the Vegan pizza, and garlic bread with mozzarella for my partner. Both were very tasty, plus very reasonable prices. Highly recommend!

Ordered from here last summer pizzas were lovely. Our order today was so disappointing. Oily cheese (not pizza cheese) uncooked base and lack luster toppings. Such a shame won't order again

Used to be great. All of the order was cold although I picked it up and was told it wasn't ready. Pizza ingredients were not cooked and the base was chewy. The roast potatoes were boiled potato's with cheese melted on the top. All Inedible. Waffle overpriced. The young man who took my complaint was polite and gave us a refund. Won't order again.

I have been an advocate of roka for a very long time now, ever since stumbling across it when It had an Italian chef serving up authentic Italian pizza. I have noticed recent changes to the ingredients and the base mix. The menu has got a lot more extensive recently.The product has now deviated so much from the pizza, that I had told so many people was "the best pizza this side of Naples". That I will now go elsewhere. I think hampering to people's reviews has changed the soul of this restaurant. I do hope they can return to a time when the pizza looks and tastes like the picture in my review.

Service was friendly and pizzas looked nice although we are used to a little more topping for this price bracket. However the overall feeling as we ate was of a quite chewy base and an overall dryness--really quite hard work. It seems that the product is made in an authentic way and so will please many, but I am afraid we have found some good quality supermarket pizzas to be more enjoyable than this, much as we would rather support a smaller set-up. Each to their own, but sorry just not for us.

A friend recommended Roka, but we were very disappointed. Pizzas were tasteless and definitely not value for the price- very disappointing!

Had a pizza evening and the food was absolutely fantastic!! Delivered piping hot, fresh vegetables and beautiful stone baked base. Salad was fresh and plentiful. Would definitely order again. Well done Roko 💖

I've had many take away pizzas and each time ordered the four cheese one as it is so good. Each time I can't resist! Highly recommended. My other favourite is pepperoni and nduja sausage. So so good!! I have never had a bad pizza from Roka :)

Very friendly. Drinks choices were good. Pizzas were lovely - we had margarita and aversana. The meatballs side was delicious (and very generous portion). We actually sat in rather than taking away. Would definitely go again.

Ordered two pizzas that were under-cooked. Dough quality poor and too thick. Quality of toppings quite poor. Bizarrely overpriced side salads, consisting of cheap lettuce and not much else.

Just had two large pizzas and the Nutella pizza delivered. They were lovely. Came nice and hot and tasted great. The Nutella pizza is amazing. Will definitely be ordering again.

Excellent Tuesday night 2 pizzas for £10. We added artichoke and ham and capers to the margueritas, so bit more than tenner, but delicious and such good value.

I really backed you guys when you opened, even after a 2hr wait one occasion on a delivery, to which you profusely apologised and offered free pizza next occasion, a lovely gesture! Your pizza was the best so I couldn’t fault you and wish you every success as you deserved it.

Ordered a takeaway from here for the first time as we were craving a pizza and I was certainly not disappointed! On a busy Saturday night, it was in my hands within 15 minutes of ordering! The base was incredible with a generous amount of toppings and the cheesy potatoes were mouth watering! The fact they use paper bags instead of plastic was great to see!! Would highly recommend and will definitely be using again!

Hadn’t used Roka for a while because we have been trying to be carb free, but had to give in when our daughter visited. Really good pizza and plenty of it!

Ended up in here without having read any reviews. Although Pizza would not be my first choice in food there was a limited choice of eateries open in Sandgate so wasn't expecting a great meal out !! The two Pizzas that we had were delicious and the slightly burned ( wood fire) crust was the icing on the cake - so to speak !!

Classic line from a classic movie and Roka serves classic pizzas! Four of us dined there on a blustery Saturday evening .Not crowded but they were very busy with takeaways. Simple comfortable surroundings and friendly staff. We had 2x12" pizzas and 2x10" pizzas which you can get for a discounted price, as well as the recommended wood fired roast potatoes.Food was lovely with real refreshing authentic flavours-potatoes were great and pizzas fab-we all have eaten pizzas ranging from Sainsbury,Dominoes and even in New York but Rokas were really very tasty! Drinks were 2 beers,glass of wine and a soft drink and bill came to £52.They are happy for you to take away anything you cant finish. Parking can be a bit of a challenge in Sandgate sometimes but its worth it to visit Roka. Definately recommended!

Was really disappointed tonight. Ordered a takeaway and hadn't received it an hour and half later. Called up to be told that they had run out of gluten free bases. When asked why they didn't call, we was lied to and told that they had tried to call. I had been sat by my phone since the order and definitely didn't have a call.

Hot, tasty, fresh pizza and cheesecake to die for. First takeaway of the year and very pleased to have chosen Roka. Thoroughly recommend

We had two pizzas, a garlic and cheese bread and the potatoes with Parmesan and white truffle oil. The potatoes were like nothing I’ve eaten before and were so yummy. Of the two pizzas - vegetarian and fire - fire with its spicy meat was superior. I’d happily eat it regularly! Friendly service. It’s a fairly basic restaurant but we’ll definitely be back (or pick up a takeaway).

Excellent pizza so much better than dominos. The base was light and crispy the toppings had so much flavour, the garlic bread was amazing. cooked to perfection. It was my first time here and defiantly will not be my last.

We have had several delicious pizzas from this outlet, but recent experiences have been less favourable. There is a website offering a 20% discount for click and collect, so we tried this. The small Pizza alla Romana was shown at £10.99, so we ordered this one plus a few other items. Collection time was estimated at 19.05 so I set off immediately, only to be told the collection time had been an estimate and the pizzas would not be ready till 19.25. Apparently they sent an email (not a text) confirming the time when the order will be ready, but I had set off by then and I don’t get emails on my phone.

The 10” pizza was lovely and filled me up. Base was light and crispy and vegetarian topping really flavoursome. The bottle of house red is an absolute bargain. Really excellent wine at an unbelievable price. We ate in and the staff were lovely. Most people seemed to be coming in for a take away but our group of 6 had a fabulous evening there.

I ordered a pizza each for myself and my wife after she wanted to order in dinner for a change. Her being vegan meant her take away options were fairly limited but had seen that roka pizza offered a vegan option and with the reviews looking good, decided to go for it.

Liked the sound of wood fired pizza so splashed out the Pizza Express type price. Took less than 10 minutes & the girl who took my order was lovely.

We wanted fish and chips but the queue was too long so we walked down the road and found this great place. We were tired and hungry after a long journey back from France and the staff made us coffee and tea and cooked the pizzas to perfection. The potatoes were great too.

Have ordered about 5 times & we really enjoy it. A tad disappointed when the pizza arrives burnt, this has happened 2 of the 5 times, one being last night. The risk may be down to how it is cooked as my partners was perfect. Sadly couldnt enjoy cold the next day as the burnt flavour was very strong (I do like cheeky leftover pizza).

Best authentic pizzas in the area, and we've tired them all! Garlic bread was to die for. Wood fired roast potatoes were amazing and Nutella pizza was so scruummy and bit hit with all the family Frendly helpful staff. You may have to wait a little longer for your pizza as it's all freshly made but definitely worth the wait .

We were on holiday and wanted somewhere that served vegan options - two pizza varieties red and green, both great. Started with Roka roasted potatoes which are a must. Mum and sis had tiramisu for dessert and said it was the best they’d ever had. Shame we don’t live closer!

Honestly I love the pizza they do here, it's always cooked perfectly and tastes amazing, the only issues I have is that they always forget drinks.

We’ve visited here on several occasions and it always exceeds our expectations. Beautifully authentic pizzas served by the friendliest of staff. You’ve got to try the new nduja sausage and mozzarella melt potatoes! To die for! Can’t wait for our next visit to try something new off the menu

This is a friendly establishment doing a good range of pizzas in the traditional way. You can phone in your order and 10 minutes later it will be ready to collect. Or they deliver within the area. Prices are similar to what you would pay in a restaurant (£10-£12), but the quality is good. Pity they are only open in the evening from 5 p,m., apparently because the chef is busy elsewhere during the day ..

wow didn’t expect that. Authentic Italian pizza delivered fresh and hot. Basil, proper cheese, absolutely fantastic pizza and cheesy garlic bread. Superb!!!

We love Roka. We order it to be delivered (handy on a Friday night). The pizzas are just like those you get in Italy, people 'say' that, but it's true, they are authentic in as much as thin, few ingredients but packed with flavour. The chilli oil is the absolute best, as a chilli lover I appreciate it and it is perfectly executed, leaves a tingle on the lips but does not get in the way of the flavour. Great delivery too, took less than 30 minutes.

Cool looking new takeaway pizza restaurant & bar. It was a very busy bank holiday Friday after fireworks on Sandgate beach so our order took a long time to wait for if we'd thought about it we'd have ordered it then had a drink in The Ship. We'll know what to do next year! Hope they keep up their excellent standards.

Live nearby so phoned for a margherita chosen from a good sized menu. Collected 20 minutes later and really enjoyed it. Proper thin crust and plenty of ingredients. So much better than any chains and great to shop locally.

Tried Roka as they offer a vegan "cheese" pizza. It was lovely, real Italian style base which you can't beat! My son said his "Pollo" pizza was great too.

We thought we'd order a pizza and eat on the beach while watching the fireworks at the Sandgate Sea Festival.

I love this place, and they do vegan pizzas which are soo good! The staff are also very nice. The only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars is because I often have to wait sometimes 30mins or more for the pizza. Once I ordered a home delivery and it actually didn't arrive for around 2 hours! However I keep coming back because I love it. Maybe they need a second oven and chef to help speed things along though. But perfect pizza every time and the roasted garlic and rosemary potatoes are delicious!

I've been lucky enough to enjoy a couple of pizzas here, they are wonderful. Thin crust with slight charring from the wood burning clay oven and a good choice of toppings. If I lived nearby would probably eat here at least once a week.

If you're looking for a completely traditional Italian pizza this is definitely the place to go. However, if you are used to "British" pizza then what you get here is very different, more... Italian!

Roka makes amazing pizzas - we discovered this gem in the summer when they advertised call to order and eat your pizza on the beach so had to give it a try! Since then we have ordered a number of times and it is always lovely. Do try it - you won't be disappointed!

Just had 3 pizzas and the garlic bread Ready in 10 minutes from phoning. All the bases were crispy, the tomato sauce was tasty, the cheese plentiful but not too much. The fungi was as it should be full of mushrooms that were flavoursome, The Romano had enough anchovies and capers without them being overpowering. The garlic pizza was full of cheese and enough garlic. A great independent pizza place that is well well worth a visit. The menu is varied without being overly fussy. I will certainly be going back.

Phoned for a delivery and the lady on the phone was excellent, friendly and efficient. Pizzas arrived a bit late as the driver got a bit lost. Can't blame him as we are not easy to find. Brilliant pizza, will use again.

We live in Sandgate and have been here a few times. They accidentally gave us a vegan pizza but it looked great so we didn't moan and gave it a go. It was gorgeous. We have also eaten their other Pizzas and would highly recommend. We were not a big fan of the dessert Pizza though, needs more fruit and less nutella.

Just visited this place for a very tasty calzone . Not on the menu yet , however they aim to please! Beautiful food and excellent service from the daughter of owner. Place is clean and well designed , also this place has superb customer service skills and food spot on! We will defo be going back for a second visit! Also .. Had my first experience of Roka last night, a Saturday, and what an absolute joy it was too. To get Pizza of this standard normally involves us a trip to London and Pizza East or Polpetto, well not anymore. Roka produces Pizza like no other I have found in my home area for the last 27 years and someone very clearly knows their way around a wood fired oven and just how to build a pizza properly. Light, crispy and full of taste was my Egg Special and served with a thoughtful House Salad and good dressing.

Went in for a quick pizza. It's not currently set up to sit and relax but I believe they are fitting out the basement as eating area.

I truly enjoy my polo with lots of mushrooms. It was scrumptious. The owner was very friendly. This is not a formal dining place than again pizza is not a formal meal. I really recommend this place.

Wow....we called in to Roka a few nights ago to sample their food. I chose the Margarita and my husband the Pollo one...they were so delicious. We chose to eat in as it has benches and bar stools to sit at. The pizza was served in the boxes and you just sit and enjoy them simply at the bench.The atmosphere is very friendly from the young lady taking your order to the men cooking behind. Tastefully done out in a simple design.

It was really hot in the evening as we were walking round Sandgate looking for somewhere to eat. We noticed Roka tucked away from the centre and thought it would be nice to eat out on the beach. We weren't disappointed. We had the Pizza Reine and it was cooked very quickly while we stood at the door trying to keep cool. The Pizza was delicious, though it took some dexterity to stop the topping sliding off when eating by hand. I would certainly return if passing through again.

Wonderful, authentic pizza, as good as you get in Italy. So glad Sandgate finally has a decent Italian option, long overdue. The sides we've tried so far have also been exceptional.

Having read and heard so many good reviews we were really excited to try it here! Sadly our pizzas came 2 hours after we ordered them (we didn't actually receive them until nearly 11pm!) and when received were not enjoyable, in fact after one bite we decided they were inedible... Not sure what went wrong as were told over the phone that there was an issue with the ordering system and that all orders had gone through simultaneously creating a long wait, yet when actually delivered we were told it was due to the delivery driver not turning up! Either way it was clear to us that the pizza was reheated several times as the crusts were rock hard and the sauce had a film over it which made it inedible!

Literally the most incredible pizza I've ever tried. Absolutely delicious. So good I've been back at least 6 times in the past couple of weeks.

Probably the best pizza we have had in the UK. Good quality base cooked in a wood fired oven. I had the Italian meat pizza packed with different Italian cured meats very filling and well cooked . This is not your average fast food pizza house much more like good pizza bars in Italy. Parking can be an issue in Sandgate but worst case there is a carpark (free after 6pm) a few mins walk away. Roka deliver if needed. No licence but they are happy for you to bring your own wine or beer very nice and friendly staff. Well worth trying

I would highly recommend trying Roka's pizzas. They are amazing especially their Italian meats! The base is thin and crispy, lovely tomato sauce and all baked while you wait!

Very friendly staff and excellent pizza. They were extremely busy on a Friday night and had to get more mozzarella so we waited in the Pub opposite and it was veryworth waiting.

Great place, great pizza, wood fired ovan Marco, pizza chef, very authentic character. Pizza dough proved for 2 days! What difference from those chains!! This is the original! Fresh ingredients. Coffee also meets with my approval......and I'm fussy! Lovely people and they deserve every success, a must try . Deliveries available. ....... Best for miles!

A brand new stylish little Restaurant/Take away. You can eat in at one of the three tables, or take out. They also do home delivery. Its not licensed but the Micro pub across the road is fine with letting you buy a beer and taking it over to Roka. Really, really seriously good pizza from the Italian academy trained pizza chef. Proper wood fired pizza oven. Nice people too. Just one point, proper metal cutlery for those who choose to eat in might be better than plastic! This place really deserves to succeed.
