Rockin Chair in Cardiff

Came for a gig at Stefan Dale’s invitation. Wasn’t disappointed. Relaxed atmosphere with talented musicians.

Always a warm welcome. Friendly staff, good food. Occasional live music but good dj'ing. Very reasonable prices. A gem.

Best carribbean diner/bar in cardiff, beautiful music and chilled place. Would recommend to anyone who love carribbean food.

What an awful experience- never again! Beware if you decide to attend this place ensure Mark 'the chef' is not on duty. Mark was stressed (by his own admission) he told us upon arrival that he was stressed and was very rude in his communications. In his 'stressed' state Mark also admitted to attempting to 'put us off attending' when we booked our table by stating he told us he was preparing for a big birthday party that night. Zero customer service skills displayed and an absolutely shocking experience .... He told us there was no food! what a crying shame because this place had been highly recommended to us. If you are expecting good customer service and food check first that the 'stressed chef' Mark is not on duty. One books a family table, attends an eating place only to be greeted by a chef proclaiming he is stressed and there is no food...No thanks!

Really really disappointed with the Chef who we were directed to upon entry. We had already telephoned prior and booked, but when we arrived Mark the Chef told us he was "stressed" due to a 21st birthday celebration and was unable to feed us after all!. We had travelled to Cardiff for the weekend as a family with our children. A kind gentleman at the door helped us to find a great place called 'Irie Shack', not far away. Will not recommend this place until the Chef and staff LEARN how to deliver great customer service! Rubbish venue!

The Rockin Chair is a relaxed Caribbean bar & restaurant. Mark, Dennis & the other staff are all very attentive & friendly. We decided to book for Father's Day. The food was delicious. Everything from curried mutton, jerk chicken, chicken curry, snapper & an ital meal. All accompanied with fresh salad, slaw, fried plantain and rice&peas. Cold red stripes, mocktails & mango juice helped quench our thirst while reggae music played in the background. Our table was a mix of people & ages & they catered to all. If you're into down to earth hospitality with a West Indian twist & very reasonable prices then get down to the Rockin Chair.

The place has a good atmosphere but the bar prices are horrendous no beer on draft. Easy place to park outside food beautiful I had the mutton curry and plantain starter with salt fish beautiful My daughter had the Jerk chicken when it arrived she was given the banquet when she queried it the guy told her just to eat it we were a bit gobsmacked to tbh she didnt mind as the banquet was a lot more money At the end of the night the guy tried charging us 50p for.plastic containers for a doggy bag needless to say we refused All in all it was a fab night I'd go there again for the mutton curry and starters

Been here at least 3 times with my family . Food is always top notch. Friendly staff and chilled atmosphere ! Great place for Carribbean food that won't break the bank ! Good selection of rums aswell if that's your thing Only downside no draft beer but happy with my can of redstripe
