Love everything about this place! A must go when in cardiff

I'd booked for the bottomless gravy, roast potato, greens and Yorkshire pudding lunch. I'd read reviews on how great it was and I wasn't disappointed. The food tasted incredible - I added pigs in blankets and carrots as side orders - again, delicious and filling. We were offered refills on the roast potatoes and Yorkshires - there's only so much one can eat but the team was very generous in their refills. The service was excellent, we were made to feel very welcome. The restaurant had a great atmosphere as well. I'll definitely be back!

A lovely little place, we had the UFO burger menu and thought it was delicious. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere, I’d recommend!

What a fantastic little restaurant this is just outside the centre of Cardiff. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was great. The menu is small but what they do they do incredibly well. It also changes regularly so check out the menu before you book. We had UFO burgers which were completely different to any burger I have had before. This was definitely not a fast food burger. We pushed the price up per head by having a few cocktails too.

What we had: Burger - Classic ( UFO style ) Side - Classic chips Drinks - Cocktails ( Stay Puft & Classic Margarita ) First things first, you should know they rotate their menu every 2 ish months so it’s worth calling and checking what their current menu is. We went during the menu being burgers. Outstanding. We went along with the classic burger UFO style which is where they press the burger and it ends up looking like a UFO. So gooooood. It turned the burger into this toastie like thing where the burgers and contents where trapped in this small pouch, it turned the brioche bread into a light buttery pastry like texture and I was getting pie vibes! The cheese melted into the patty juices and created this cheesy liquid juice that surrounded the contents completely and every bite was heaven. And most importantly, the meat was still the shining star, good quality beef with a nice red medium colour. The cocktails were so tasty, they staff made a little too much and gave us another glass free instead of binning the excess. The service was outstanding, I felt like I was round my mates for dinner, the chef even came out to have a casual chat while we finished our drinks. Really glad we found this gem in Cardiff and look forward to coming back.

It was mine and housemates first time at Neighbourhood and we weren’t disappointed at all. The cocktails were amazing, the service all night was second to none and the main star of the show being the food - outstanding. As the night progressed, it was obvious how busy Will & Rob were but standards never dropped. We will be back! - Alex, Mike & Josh.

Dropped in to try the new UFO burger menu with some friends. We were all absolutely blown away! The burgers were incredible, I went for the one with blueberry and onion jam, which was not as weird as it sounds, it just works. We UFO'd the burgers (they essentially sandwich press the burgers so they look like UFO's) I was expecting this to just be a bit of a gimmick. However, the edge of the burger gets crispy and almost caramelises - insanely good. The sides we had were all an absolute knockout as well - mozzarella sticks, chicken tenders, and the garlic parmesan fries were out of this world (I won't apologise for that pun) Big shoutout to Will and Rob, who were knocking it out of the park on their own, and seemed to be having a blast doing it, too! Unreal food and exceptional service, can't wait to get back!

We booked a table here before a show in Tramshed and I'm so glad we did! I ordered the Kick out the Jams burger with parmesan and garlic fries and it was up there with one of the best burgers I've ever had. The patty was really tasty on its own, but throw in the bacon, crispy onions and blueberry jam and you have the perfect burger. The fries were so morish (especially with the ranch dip!), and the mozzarella sticks were also outstanding. The staff were also great, very attentive without being pushy. It was very cold in there though so layer up in you're going in the colder months 🥶

Travelled an hour to try the bottomless gravy fondue after seeing it on social media - it did not disappoint! The 5 of us worked our way through 3 plates of Yorkshire puddings, 2 plates of toasties and demolished the chicken and sides..... everything was hot, tasty and the service and atmosphere were lovely. We will be back!

What an absolute hidden gem! Amazing bottomless gravy and roasties! Atmosphere was lovely and the cocktails were fantastic! Amazing staff that talked me through gluten free options, the chef even came out to chat to me about cross contamination etc. Will definitely be coming back!!!

Was a lot smaller than i expected , I went with friends for the Camembert bottomless brunch with margaritas. The food and drinks were delicious and the staff were friendly. The only thing that was a disappointment was it was very cold I there. A draft of cold air was constantly blowing on us.

One of the best places we’ve ever been to! The place itself isn’t very big so definitely book in advance, you can book online and the process is pretty easy. The Camembert was to die for!! I had the cured charcuterie & nectarine, my boyfriend had garlic, honey & rosemary. We had garlic & herb dough balls and the rustic bread basket as a side. Everything was amazing and I would highly recommend! The only thing was the wait time, we waited around 40 minutes for the food to come out, but I must say that the food was delicious and did make up for it! The staff were friendly and helpful, we’ll definitely be back!

Went tonight for the gravy fondue after visiting previously twice before and have to say it didn't live up to expectations at all. The menu clearly states the Yorkshire puddings are homemade but I saw them open a bag of them in the kitchen and they clearly weren't homemade which was confirmed after tasting them, so a bit misleading. We had the veggie option and they gave us a tiny pie to share between both of us 😮 Gravy, potatoes and stuffing were bland and lacking any seasoning. The staff were kind and welcoming but for £54 for 2 people I will definitely not be returning which is a damn shame.

Unfortunately this place did not live up to the hype seen on social media and local press. Service was extremely slow, we had to wait a while for food to come, tables to be cleared which left no room for additional drinks. It seems this place is just trying to churn out as many tables as they can. Meat was undercooked, not just ours but the table next to us too. It's a shame as we were looking forward to the evening but it all seemed rushed and not very personal. We went for the gravy fondu evening. Food was average.

Went for gravy fondue event. Waited an hour for food. Yorkshires were lumps of batter, vegetarian gravy lumpy. The rest of food just ok. Half a @pieboxcardiff pie was nice. 15 mins after food came, and before we’d received side dish, we were told we had 15 minutes to vacate table. Servers uninterested that we had not received all the food at this point. Luckily the meal was so underwhelming we were pleased to leave without finishing. £50 for half a pie was overpriced.

We had the gravy fondue which was delicious. Whoever made the music playlist deserves a raise, you can never have too much McFly!

Unfortunately, this is the first bad review of neighbourhood and the last time to visit after a few times. It took nearly 40 minutes to actually take our orders and confirm food. Whilst waiting for our food, my two friends went outside to vape and saw outside the waiter also vaping. At this point the restaurant was heaving, people waiting to be served and tables to be cleared. The waiter then never returned leaving Will the bartender and grace the chef to cook, clear tables, serve at the bar, take payments for bills and bring out the food. So credit to them as they were rushed off their feet and seemed incredibly overwhelmed. Food was really underwhelming this time round.

Such a cosy restaurant with interesting menus and the events they put on each month are unique! Really friendly staff, great food and quick service

Teníamos la fondue de salsa que estaba delicioso. Casi no tenía suficiente espacio en la mesa para la comida. El ambiente era muy acogedor y encantador. Quien haya hecho la lista de reproducción de música merece un aumento, ¡nunca podrás tener demasiado McFly!

Really great atmosphere and lovely setting for a nice evening out. Staff were brilliant!! Unfortunately they were understaffed on the night we went so we did have to wait a little longer than expected for our cocktails. However we weren't in a rush and so it didn't deter. Staff also dealt with this really well. (Appreciated the offer of discount for delay.) Food was all tasty -maybe slightly overpriced as we didn't really use the unlimited offer but can't fault the customer service. I would definitely like to go again. 😊

We’ve been to Neighbourhood a number of times and always enjoyed it, but our Bottomless Gravy experience didn’t live up to previous visits. The food we had was nice, and the service friendly, but there was a 45 minute wait for food which limited the amount of time to utilise the ‘bottomless’. We also didn’t receive the greens that were meant to come with the meal, despite chasing them up. A bit of a downer compared to what we’ve been used to.

Fab night for bottomless roast - food delicious and excellent value. Staff all super friendly. Awesome music playlist. Delicious margarita cocktails(and other interesting choices ) . Looking forward ti going again to this lovely neighbourhood restrant.

First of all I wasn’t aware that a £10 deposit would be taken per person. Secondly I wasn’t aware that we would be stood on high stools at a window and when asked for a booth as my wife is pregnant I was told no. The food came out over a space of 10 minutes in dribs and drabs as they were serving 2 tables at a time and when it did come the gravy wasn’t very warm and the fondue set kept going out. The spring greens was just cabbage that tasted very burnt and the chicken was very dry. Overall I’m very dissatisfied with this experience and would not be recommending this to anyone especially for the price.

This was our 3rd visit to this little gem of a restaurant. Every time the food and service has been amazing. See you soon.

Received a warm welcome at Neighbourhood, the staff were really attentive. We all thoroughly enjoyed our bottomless Gravy fondue, with bottomless roasties and Yorkshire puddings, ordered extra carrots and stuffing balls, but a little disappointed that menu items were missing (we were looking forward to the pigs in blankets, but sold out, too bad they are so popular 🤣) everything tasted so good and really excellent value for money! We certainly will be back for another fondue evening.

Food was way overpriced with little of it! Food was delivered at different times and then was cold. Would not recommend or ever go again. Did not pay as didn't eat it.

Excelente comida. La funcionaria fue atenta y servicial a pesar de que se precipitó de sus pies! Todo estaba muy bien cocinado. Solo pequeña queja estaba siendo sentado en la mesa alta por el bar, sin embargo, este es un restaurante muy pequeño y no voy a marcar lo que por lo demás fue una gran noche. Estaba conduciendo, así que tenía un cóctel sin alcohol que también era excelente. ¡No es la primera vez que como aquí y no será la última!

Reservado con amigos después de escuchar grandes cosas sobre el menú de langosta. La mesa más temprana que pude reservar el sábado por la noche fue a las 9 pm, pero llegamos media hora antes y nos sorprendió ver que solo había 1 otra mesa comiendo. Nos sentaron inmediatamente, lo cual fue genial. Nos dijeron que no había tequila por lo que las muchas opciones de margarita no estaban disponibles. Había 1 frente al personal de la casa que parecía un poco estresado cubriendo las 2 mesas. Pedido 2 cócteles y 1 cóctel más agua para la mesa. En cuanto a la comida, pedimos 2 langostas enteras y 1 langosta Thermidor. Llegó el cóctel, luego llegó la comida y finalmente llegaron los 2 cócteles. El agua nunca llegó. La comida llegó, la orden estaba mal - nos habían traído 1 langosta entera y 2 Thermidor. Se dieron cuenta del error y nos dejaron con el termidor extra y luego sacaron la 2a langosta entera. La comida estaba bien, las langostas no son las mejores que he probado, pero por £ 10 cada una no esperaba nada especial. Los lados de mac&cheese, costillas de maíz y papas fritas de trufa eran geniales. No había suficientes galletas saladas y tenedores de langosta para uno cada uno, así que había un montón de compartir el equipo que no era ideal. Pedimos otra porción de papas fritas y un cóctel. El cóctel nunca llegó. El servicio no fue genial, la fuente de la señora de la casa estaba muy irritado. Eventualmente llegaron un par de manos adicionales, aunque ella estaba quitando nuestras cestas, etc. en el minuto que terminamos, así que nos sentimos apresurados a pesar de ser la sesión final de la noche. No nos ofrecieron postres. Y cuando pedimos la factura nos dijeron que subiéramos al auto a pagar. Aunque no nos dieron una factura detallada a pesar de pedir una. En general, la comida estaba bien, el servicio sub-par. Lamentablemente, no puedo imaginar una situación donde volviéramos.

Me and my partner had a lovely experience at the neighbourhood kitchen. We had the corn ribs, fries, Mac and cheese, lobster rolls and the lobster thermidor and it was all brilliant. The service was amazing and incredibly welcoming. We would definitely return.

Absolutely fabulous. Food was fresh, looked good and cooked well. Everything came our swiftly and hot. Tasted amazing. The cocktails were delicious. It is a little place perfect for an intimate catch up over a few plates of good food. And, of course, real bargains with deals like £10 lobster. Would highly recommend.

Wonderful experience here for it being the first time. Food was wonderful and so was the service. Would recommend visiting !

£10 Lobster at Neighbourhood Kitchen 🦞 Whole lobster drenched in garlic, herb, and parsley butter for £10. The claws and tail were juicy and the garlic was punchy but balanced. 🦞 Lobster Thermidor - two beautiful halves of lobster generously slathered in the house’s creamy Thermidor sauce, then topped with parmesan and grilled to perfection. While there wasn’t as much meat in these (I may have been unlucky), the presentation of the dish could easily match that of a fancy restaurant. 🦞 Lobster Mac N Cheese - a rich, creamy sauce with chunks of lobster and crawfish lurking beneath the surface. Taking comfort food to new heights. 🦞 Corn ribs were deep-fried beauties, crispy on the outside with a soft, juicy inside. Dusted with smoked paprika and drizzled in Brains Dark BBQ sauce. 🦞 Burnt leeks — charred and slightly crispy, with a drizzle of garlic butter to round it all off. Simple but so satisfying. With a couple of beers and ciders, the bill came to £70. Would I go again? Shell yeah! 🐾 Dog-friendly

Staff were friendly and attentive. Chef was happy to show us how to eat lobster. Relaxed atmosphere, good for kids.Lobster was a great price at £10, but chips were the most expensive I have ever bought at £7 a portion. The door couldn't close properly and there was a stiff breeze blowing in which bothered me a lot. My hair was blowing in my face and my eyes went dry. The door needs to properly close with a good fire close mechanism added.

Lobster was the attraction @ £10 cheap. Sides £7+ each not good value and small portions. £7 for a small portion of truffle fries🤔. Small place, nice people. But overall, it was not as good as i'd hoped.

We turned up for our booking at 1pm only to see on the list that our name had been scrubbed out and no show put next to it as their booking sheet showed us as 12:30. I pulled up the email I had which clearly stated 1pm-2:30pm and the staff were very confused… as were we. In my reservation I asked to be put on a table rather than the window bench as I can get a bad back. Due to the mistake with the booking, we had to go on the bench and I asked is there any chance of a table to be told ‘well if you had got here at 12:30 you would’ve had one’ (even though that wasn’t our booking). The staff did apologise and gifted us a drink each for the confusion which was nice of them. I did find it a little odd however that, for a place that asks for a £10pp deposit, don’t give their customers a call to ask if they are on their way if they are late?

Went there with my boyfriend and we both loved it! Had Wu-Tan Scran pizza with bottomless margaritas! The service was amazing, as was the pizza and cocktails. It was really chilled nice vibe. We'll definitely be back ☺️

Nos alojamos en el apartamento de arriba. Gran habitación, preciosa y luminosa y ventilada. Cómoda cama y gran espacio para 3 amigos. WiFi gratis se anunciaba, pero nada en cualquier lugar para sugerir cómo conectar a ella. No hay información sobre las horas de salida. Máquina de Nespresso pero no hay leche / instrucciones sobre dónde conseguirlo. Artículos de tocador de lujo que habían sido regados por lo que eran inutilizables. Ducha fría con grifo mezclador roto. Pisos delgados para que todo el ruido pudiera ser escuchado por la gente que pisoteaba arriba. (¡Aprecio que no puedan controlar que la gente sea pesada!) Mi mayor problema en todo esto es que me puse en contacto con ellos el día que me fui por mensaje de texto y luego por correo electrónico. La señora explicó que era su día libre lo que estaba bien, pero que ella me llamaría al día siguiente. 2 semanas después, recibí un correo electrónico que básicamente emitía un tono de ‘esto no debería haber sucedido, pero oh bueno’ No volveremos, lo cual es una pena, ya que es un gran espacio.

The renovation was cancelled due to power cut so not a good experience

I am unable to give 0 stars as it wont let me. I understand they had problems with staff and electrics but to one day say its closed and the next send a reminder of the booking and not being able to confirm if its open or closed. Maybe foolishly we made the trip to the restaurant for our booking but it was closed. so I cannot comment on food, service and atmosphere but communication is rubbish

My booking was cancelled due to electricity failure in the restaurant. Fine, these things happen. The email message asked me to phone from Tuesday morning in order to rebook. Well, it's now Friday night, and I've phoned 30+ times. Not once has anyone picked up! Doesn't ring at all, just goes directly to the answerphone (you can't leave a message). I've emailed too. I hate to give a small business a bad review, but I've been waiting all year for the crawfish cookout and this has officially driven me nuts. What is going on?

Absolutely ridiculous! Booked a table for 2 weeks in advance. When the day comes we turn up for them to tell us they didn’t even have a table for us. Yet the whole restaurant was empty. The staff were so rude and didn’t help whatsoever. Wouldn’t bother wasting your time coming here!

Great food and service. Only criticism was the cajun fries were slightly too salty and window seating is a bit small but other than that the food was beautiful.

Fantastic local restaurant-great cocktails and food was exceptional. Felt a bit rushed at the end as we had to vacate our table for the next sitting. I get why they do this as it’s really small but would have liked a bit more time in an ideal world. Nevertheless would highly recommend x

Returning Customer - Went to the seafood boil this time. Deposit of 45£ was paid for 3 people initially thinking we would get one each. Very disappointed when we had it split between us. Very small prawns (some had eggs inside which ended up uneaten) 7 pieces of corn between us (small corns) and about 1 sausage between us all and 4 potatoes. lots of crayfish but not enough meat in them to fill us up.. Added on 2 sides and 3 drinks ended up being £70 in total which is appalling for the amount of food we had. Good to experience wouldn’t recommend to a friend to try this out in particular.

Had a crawfish boil. It was exactly how it looks online, however sadly it made me unwell within the hour. I did email to share my feedback and ask for a refund, but I have not had a response back sadly. A bit of a shame all round due to the food making me sick and no response on email.

Attended for the crawfish boil last night. Small venue but i prefer it for a more intimate service and just the right level of atmosphere. The crawfish boil was fantastic and the portion was very generous, including the sides. The fried jalapenos were the star of the show for sure! Highly recommend this venue and dining experience if you enjoy shellfish or adventurous with your food.

Very friendly staff. They gave us a bunch of free food as it was the last day of the current menu... which was delicious! Loved the battered jalapenos, smileys were pure nostalgia! Will definitely be dining here again!

Hate to say this after our first visit was out of this world at a lobster night, but we were left disappointed with the crawfish boil. Firstly, we were sat at a shelf not a table. Had this been pointed out during booking I would have chosen another date, when I book a table I expect a table. Secondly, whilst our food was being served the chef poured it on to the shelf splashing both myself and my husband clothing with juices. Thirdly, unlike previous visit we were not advised how best to open the crawfish and get the most out of them, just slopped onto shelf and left. Finally, there was very little meat on the crawfish and sadly we both left unsatisfied. The staff are lovely and friendly and as I said the lobster night we attended was first class. It’s such a shame as we had been waiting for this night after missing the previous one months ago. The cocktails are fantastic. X

Very upset with the booking system traveled all the way from North Wales for this restaurant and then got to Cardiff to be told that I cannot have my table really upset and stressed out was really looking forward to having this restaurant I did not enquire I booked a table really stressed out and no one got me back to me about money quite upset this has happened twice to me now where I have had to take my family to this restaurant so so disappointed what's not asked for any booking money when I was looking the table apparently they said quiet and now I've actually booked the table

We love this place. Such an incredible concept - a chance for new chefs to try concepts and a chance for regular customers to try new food. Love the small tables, so intimate when with friends. Always cool staff. We will keep coming back. Perfect neighbourhood place! Thanks to all involved.

My friend & I had a great experience at Neighbourhood Kitchen when visiting Cardiff over the weekend. The "Oh that's my jam" burger was to die for, as were the hot honey chicken tenders! The restaurant is only small but a friendly cosy atmosphere. The two girls who served us were lovely & super welcoming. Thank you!

What a spot!! Popped in on a sunny afternoon for some drinks and had the pleasure of being served by Brad, who even made us some burgers before the kitchen was officially open. Life saver! 🤩 even my sprite was served with a flourish. Lush cocktails, lush food, lush Brad!

By far one of the best restaurants in the area. Super friendly staff, amazing food and the drink selection is great. Highly recommend stopping by!

Delicious burger and a delightful margarita £5 before 6pm is an absolute Bargain

Dropped in here yesterday for a cocktail on the way to the TRAMSHED. What a gem lovely atmosphere, great welcome and a singing barman. Sings in the kitchen and when he came behind the bar we asked him to sing a song which he truly did and was excellent. Best cocktails we had all day and we had tried some cocktails. Go here before going to the Tramshed it’s just around the corner. We will definitely return.

Absolutely fantastic little bar/cafe. Food was outstanding and reasonably priced. Cocktails fantastic and the staff are perfect. Very friendly and helpful. If I'm in the area again would definitely visit, if you you are in the area go you will not be disappointed.

BEST place for food in Cardiff town!!! Food is amazing, super tasty, well cook and good product. Staff is super friendly, both Radley and Chloe made our dinner even better with their recommendations and attention. The local decoration is also cool and price is ok. So Neighbourhood is hapiness ❤️, It should be a must!!! I want to come back now!! Tip: cocktails also fab, try the hoffi coffi ;-)

The Mwg pop-up was amazing and the best margaritas in the city!

Awesome little spot. Went for the taco menu and it was great. Server (Brad?) was quick with a beer and super friendly! Also helped me out when I was suffering with too much hot sauce and messed up paying the bill 😂 will be back!

We did the bottomless margs it was great, the girl who served us was lovely. This is our 3rd time we've come here trying the different menus each month. Would definitely reccommend really cute place amazing food and cocktails

Feedback I sent to Neighbourhood Kitchen a week ago but no response received:- 'My boyfriend and I visited Neighbourhood Kitchen in February and really enjoyed the burgers and loaded fries. I saw the taco menu for March and thought I'd take my Mum who would absolutely love the 'lobster tacos' which were on the menu. My Mum and I went at 5.00pm last Friday. As soon as we got there we were told that amongst a few other things 'lobster tacos' weren't on the menu that evening but they were expecting an 'Asda' order of fish instead which should be getting to the restaurant in about 20 minutes. (A friend of mine ate at Neighbourhood Kitchen with her family a week or so ago, was also looking forward to the 'lobster tacos', however they weren't available). We were really disappointed as this was the main reason we had come. We should have left at this point but we ordered a couple of margaritas. Mine had a fly floating in it but I fished it out without saying anything. We had 4 prawns (£8.00) between us and the guacamole and corn chips. The corn chips were overly fried and falling apart and the guacamole was an extremely ungenerous portion. At this point, the 'Asda' order arrived through the restaurant's main entrance with slabs of frozen fish. We had already by this point ordered our tacos - we had gone for chicken. It was okay - nothing special. My Mum and I rarely get the chance to go out for dinner together, this was a rare occasion and I so wish I had not taken her to your restaurant. It was embarrassing. Not only had we not had the 'lobster tacos' and by they way, have you ever actually served them during this 'taco month'? But I also realised, when I got home, that I had been overcharged by £10.00!! My bill should have been £34.50 but I had been charged £44.50. This experience has left me with a very negative opinion of your restaurant.'
