Beers were excellent, definitely a well kept cellar. Timmy Taylors was as good as it gets. The pies are absolutely AMAZING. Huge variety to choose from, all hand made while you wait (you may need a little patience if they are busy but it is worth it ). I had the haggis and black pudding - I cannot recommend this enough - it's stunning. The rest of our party had Steak and Stilton, Lamb and Mint, Cheese, Potato and Onion. They were all superb. Plenty of beautifully cooked fresh veg and a jug of yummy gravy - yes, a jug. A jug of pure Yorkshire Happiness 😊 🙂. Oh yeh - fabulous roast potatoes or really good chips and mushy peas. There are no starters on the menu because you genuinely would be unable to finish your main meal. None of us could manage dessert ! Sunday roasts on Thursday,Friday, Saturday as well as Sunday (if I remember correctly) table near us had beef , they raved about it, especially the giant Yorkshire puds. I think the owners are Farmers and most of the produce is from their farm and/or locally sourced. This is proper farm to fork eating. More than one roaring open fire, very welcoming, very friendly. Honestly, I cannot think of a negative; get along there and treat yourself. Be prepared to wait for your food, that isn't a negative - it is so worth it.

Little gem of a pub. Properly untouched by big breweries and tasteless Mediterranean lagers. Lots of local beers and good atmosphere with friendly service. Unfortunately, they had too many bookings for food, so we couldn't get any. But I looked and smelled great.

Wow. This place is something else, A quirky, very welcoming little bar, staff uber friendly (and dog welcoming too. The food is hearty, home made. And prepared when you order. So traditional! Huge choice of fillings, I couldn't pick, so they said tell me what you like and we'll make it for you!! I had a creamy mushroom and garlic sauce specially made. Wow. It's rare you get service like that.. All the trimmings of a Sunday roast are plentiful and freshly cooked too. Bravo to the owners, chef and staff. Thank you for the warm welcome!!

Food not good. Ordered beef in ale pie . Was pretty awful! My son ordered beef in mushroom brandy pie. I’m a chef and the Brandy wasn’t cooked off . Been added before served. Friend ordered beef and baguette. Brisket of fatty beef. No taste. And oven baked baguette that one can buy in a supermarket and part baked. If I had said anything to owner I would have lost it . £69 … never again!!! Don’t waste for time! Well that told me didn’t it! 😂😂 I certainly know the difference between brisket and topside! Tbh with your response to my review I’m surprised that you still have an establishment to operate from. A word of advice! Watch how much comes back on your plates. I would happily give you a cook off any day. Kind regards!! 😁

Superb food, the best example of homemade grub I've ever experienced. Party of 4 were all delighted with our main and we all ordered something different. Large portions and fantastic quality, homemade chips recommended with the dishes if offered. This was our third visit and never dissapointed, looking forward to the next one. Fairly small yet very charming place, would recommend pre booking a table to avoid dissapointed. Although I'm not a drinker personally, they also have a wide selection of local beers and ale at the bar.

This is one of those traditional country pubs that reminds me of how pubs used to be when I was a kid. Pubs never used to allow children in those days, and I remember sitting under the table in case a policeman came in! A traditional stone building, it has authenticity and character in spades. Dogs are welcome and it's a popular doggie pub from what I could make out. And the food! OMG! I thought I died and went to heaven, it was so divine. I had the steak and stilton pie and it was simply gorgeous, with proper chips and meat gravy. My only criticism, if there is one, is that the portion size is much too large. We simply couldn't eat all of it, despite really wanting to, and a lot of it was thrown away. I hate food waste, and this is perhaps something they could look at. A wonderful place that I intend to go back to again and again. Highly recommended.

Went for a friend's birthday, Saturday 3rd March. The food was all freshly cooked and was delicious 😋 One friend and l shared the Fillet Steak for two there was crispy onion rings, tomato's, mushroom's, and chips, two sauces, peppercorn and blue cheese, (l don't like blue cheese but) this was yummy not overpowering. Plenty to share. Friends had homemade pies which I had a taste of and were also delicious and plentiful. Another friend had a roast dinner which due to popular demand they serve Wednesday to Sunday Would have loved to have tried some pudding but was just too full. Which means I will definitely have to visit again. The staff are lovely and friendly and Jay the chef came out to check we were all happy 😁 It is a small quirky pub with a lovely atmosphere, l do recommend that you book especially on a Sunday. Had an excellent first visit to the Robin Hood,l having been invited by friends and locals who suggested the food was amazing! Unfortunately, the vegan pie wasn't amazing, it lacked any flavour at all. Everyone else was completely satisfied by their food, so it does just seem to be the pie that I had ... Possibly the dullest pie I had ever tasted. I'll definitely try the vegan roast next time and hope the pie can be improved ... Maybe i was just unlucky yesterday 😅

A prime example of a former derelict Pubco disaster now a landlord owned pub. Landlord's revolving choice of craft ale at great value is impeccable. Pork pies a great combo. Evolved into a go to live music venue on Sundays. Get there and experience a real community pub.
