To start with the staff weren't very knowledgeable with the computerised seating and ordering system and it took a while to seat us although a table for two would be "no problem." Then when we ordered it took three attempt to get our order on the palm top. Food when it arrived was well below par. My wife's mushroom and ale pie was almost all pastry with some sauce and about 10 pieces of finely chopped mushrooms (they have had problems before with outsourcing their pies but the menu states that everything is made in house). My lamb shank shepherd's pie was tasty, but who thought of putting a beautifully cooked lamb shank in a shepherd's pie??? Simply crazy, I would have paid the same for the lamb shank, some mashed or boiled potatoes and some seasonal vegetables plus some minted gravy, sadly missing in the served dish, the accompanying butter vegetables arrived on a little plate 10 minutes after I was served my main. which consisted of a few strands of undercooked cabbage without any butter in sight. Not very good at all and definitely without an encore. Poor chef and sadly poor service as the staff did try to be good hosts and be helpful.

Here visiting family and stayed the PI. We had both breakfast and evening meals. Which were delicious, i had the sea bass and Gammon, both of which were cooked to perfection. The staff, Jazz, Liv &Kiera were outstanding, they were knowledgable about the menu and ingredients. And were very pleasant and attentive.

We visited the Robin Hood today as a family of 4. Really unimpressed tbh. In total we were there for over 3.5hrs just to get served our meals. 2 courses for the kids and 3 courses for Mum and Dad. We were sat within sight of the bar and front door greeting area, but were seemingly forgotten about for the entire meal. It took ages to clear our plates. The kids Chicken had excess Flour on it, so quite bland to taste. I had the Lamb Shank Shepherd Pie. The Lamb Shank occupied most of a small bowl, with very little mash potato. The Lamb Shank was over cooked and dry. The bone did not pull freely from the Shank. It was under seasoned so needed Salt and Pepper to taste. Again took an age to clear our plates and no one came to check how the food was. I chose the small Dessert and Hot drink for afters. While my partner and kids ordered other desserts. While the desserts arrived, I was left waiting for the coffee that came with my dessert. I had to go to the bar twice to remind the server, who just seemed like he wasn’t bothered. When he finally arrived with my coffee he clearly knew I was upset as everyone else had finished their desserts and I was left waiting for a coffee that should and could have come before the desserts came out the kitchen. To then be given a bill for the full price with no acknowledgement that we were appalled at the service… was laughable. I have worked in hospitality for many years and they certainly had enough staff on to manage all the occupied tables. I’m sorry, but other than the starter (soup), the food quality and service at this place was appalling. I hope they read this review and learn from it.

Love this place. Great food and atmosphere. Quite a few things had sold out on the menu and at times service slightly slow but staff so friendly and accommodating and food such good quality it more than made up for it

Service is always top notch. Really friendly & knowledgeable. Was nice to see people in here with some chilled out background music. Food is ok here, to eat & drink isn't cheap but nice for a little stop in on an afternoon.

After a long day at Butlins I came and stayed the night at Premier Inn and decided to eat dinner here. I ordered garlic bread for my children, unware it came covered in cheese, which none of my children eat. The Waitress Jazz was amazing and quickly assisted by arranging for a fresh batch to be prepared. Her service accompanied with her smile and no problem attitude is a credit to this establishment.

The food here is REALLY good and prices just as good... if your'e in the area , I would throughly recommend it. we also had a family gathering in the back restaurant ( which opens for functions) and was excellent as is the food menu for any functions... staff friendly and welcoming..

Staff were fantastic, very friendly and helpful (Chris, Eadie, Jazz, Oliver) with us, but also with my son and dog. Great pub to take kids, and particularly dogs to! Pub was very clean and tidy. Food was very good.

We had a large family dinner. Service in every form was very good. Food arrived quickly and was of the very best quality, really tasty. We were there several hours and the staff were attentive the whole time. We were all very pleased we had chosen the Robin Hood as the place for our family to gather. We’ve been staying in the premier inn next door and using the Robin Hood for breakfast and dinner and oh my gosh - the best food we’ve had in a long time! And the best customer service I think we’ve ever had! The staff are so friendly, welcoming and helpful I really can’t thank them enough! Edie, Mack, Liv and Jamie have been on hand at every opportunity and have been so great with my little boy too. We’re planning on making our trip an annual one just to come back here. Thank you so much guys, you rock! 🤘🏻

Our first time at the Robin Hood pub. Service was top notch, lovely waitress Jazz, she was delightful and that nothing was to much trouble. I didn't want chips, and I was offered 3 different options. All the staff were very pleasant, even though it had been a very busy day. We will definitely go there again.

We visited on a whim while on holiday in Elmer, greeted and passed over to the lovely Jess, her knowledge of the menu and specials was extensive and well communicated which was great as no doubt we would of chosen something and gotten disappointed! We felt well attended to throughout the night and had been given good opertunity to ask for any amendments. The food was lovely, if we lived locally would visit again. Thanks for a lovely evening.

Went to the Robin Hood for lunch today as I had read previous reviews. Well, impressed isn’t the word, it was brilliant. The service from Jamie was excellent so caring and attentive. When the food arrived - I had scampi - absolutely amazing , my husband had the cheese toastie. We had drinks and when paid bill it came to approx £24 for the two of us. Absolutely excellent . Will definitely be going back.

We visited today for my son's birthday. Had a lovely welcome and a great atmosphere. A great varied menu and we all thoroughly enjoyed our food. Service was attentive, informative and very friendly. Toilets were clean. A lovely afternoon spent and we're already planning a return visit. Plenty of parking. Discount for NHS was a bonus too.

Updated review: The staff are super nice, and the atmosphere is always welcoming. I also really like the menu choices. It’s proper food and not just fried stuff. Over-all the pub is 10/10 and will continue to visit regularly.

Had a meal here today with some friends. Honestly the staff couldn't of been more helpful sorting out our options for different dietary needs GF vegan etc. All our food were really nice, my roast turkey was great with massive yorkshire pud. 😋

Had an absolutely amazing experience at the Robin Hood, took my better half on a meal out and couldn’t have asked for a better environment to be in, the staff were very friendly and kind, very engaging with there custom but not over whelming, the food came out quickly for how busy they where but was all cooked to perfection, would highly recommend for any occasion

We love the Robin Hood Pub and Restaurant. We have been several times in the last 3 months and even went 3 times in one week. The pub has greatly improved since Manager Jamie took over. Both the Manager and deputy manager make the atmosphere of the place pleasant, the staff look happy, the place is clean and the food is exceptional, hats off to the chef!. I have been for meals and drinks there and never been disappointed. They have a great selection of food, specials and cater well for gluten free diets. I am even returning for my birthday and wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. Nothing is too much trouble and they are very accommodating. I would highly recommend the pub and will keep going back there as it's now on my list as a favourite place to visit and socialise.

Excellent pre Goodwood Festival of Speed dinner on Thursday night. Chose one of the daily specials which was very tasty. Service was impeccable and we were looked after very well by Chris and his colleagues. Well done all at the Robin Hood.

Traveled down from Liverpool to visit family. As soon as we entered the bar we were greeted like old friends. Just what I needed at then of a 6 hour drive. Ordered drinks and food. Nothing too much trouble. Food was excellent. Ended up staying until late. Thank you Jamie, Liv, Eadie and those in the kitchen you don’t see. I’ll be back every chance I get.

A nice discovery to introduce excellent fish and chips to schoolchildren staying in England. The service is fast, efficient, smiling and adaptable. An address to remember for a future stay. John.

Group of 60 students and 5 chaperones. Came to eat fish'n chips followed by ice cream. Very warm welcome, excellent fish'n chips (as proof: the 14 year old students left nothing on the plates). The team did everything possible to be fast and efficient while remaining friendly and cheerful. We will come back. I warmly recommend.

Chris and Eadie were spectacular. Food and service great. Steaks much more tender than some other chains I won't mention. Old Speckled Hen was very well kept and with a 10% CAMRA discount meaning £3.87 a pint and our dogs welcome. A bit quiet but it's a Monday so atmosphere hard to review. What's not to like ?

I came in with my family on the way to butlins and I had the cheese toastie. It was amazing. The waitress often asked if everything was ok, and the guy at bar helped my sister choose some coloring to do. My family all said their food was amazing and the portions were great size. Very comfortable seating.

Friendly and welcoming public house. The landlord, James (or Jamie)is a brilliant host,even though at times he has to juggle with a heavy workload! This is because the brewery seem to be, at times,basically reluctant to staff the establishment properly. The landlord and his staff are always there to ensure all customers receive a warm welcome,creating a relaxed atmosphere from the start. My Son and I, over Christmas, had a brilliant slap up 3 course dinner with the food being exceptional in presentation and taste 😋. I've eaten at the pub a number of times over the last three months or so, and each time the food has been "top notch!" #Jamie the landlord is dedicated to providing a pleasant experience to his clients from start to finish,and is the ideal candidate for helping the company to achieve the results required #

Just left the pub now, after having the most fantastic roast. Food was excellent. The staff are so friendly and attentive and really seem to care how your food is. Our waiter Jamie was very friendly, very professional and as far as I'm concerned went over and above...so nice to find such friendly staff, Jamie was also very funny and we enjoyed his hospitality as much as the meal.

Literally the definition of 'gastropub'. Was fully booked but the owner set some expectations and managed to squeeze us in which was kind. He was a chirpy chap and definitely rolled a high number on the charisma dice when he was born - which personally we loved but might not be for everyone. Food was excellent - not cheap - but you get what you pay for. Good place - highly recommended - especially if you are staying at the hotel for convenience.

Really good food and service in traditional pub surroundings. The pies are pretty big and tasty plus the fish dishes are great. Can't say about dessert as I was too full for that but I bet it's good too. It's really changed since our last visit.

Just moved to the area when we found this place. Great pub and the staff cannot do enough for you and make you feel special from the second you walk in. Jamie the manager is so welcoming and will do everything possible to make your visit special. Eadie FOH is just amazing and Ian the chef does a mean Sunday roast. What's not to love, if you have never been to this pub then you are missing out. We have found our local 😍👍

VERY long overdue review (apologies). My wife and I stayed in the adjoining Premier Inn whilst visiting for a festival at the nearby Butlins. Whilst we were there there was heavy rain and the area afflicted with flooding. We visited the Robin Hood a few times and found the atmosphere welcoming, the food fantastic and the staff went above and beyond. From a moody northerner, this place was amazing.. I want to give a special mention to whom (I presume) was the Manager. We were worried about the floods & onward travel & he went above and beyond to ensure we were OK. Whilst having lunch we saw the same treatment for the locals coming in who needed a little help.... Fantastic venue, fantastic food/drinks, fantastic staff & a brilliant Manager.

We stayed at the Premier Inn for a couple of nights and so enjoyed a couple of evening meals and breakfasts and a few drinks during our stay. The staff were exceptional and made us all so welcome and went out of their way to accommodate our party of 8. The pub had a lovely feel and atmosphere both during the day and evening. The food was excellent and a very good choice on the menu.

Had a triple roast for dinner and a bakewell tart and custard for afters... Very nice, could have been a bit hotter and I am sure they would have sorted it out for me but it looked delicious and I just wanted to tuck right in. Will definitely be going back 😋

The atmosphere was well above any we have previously experienced at any restaurant/pub attached to a premier inn. We will definitely return for the restaurant alone. Highly recommend a visit!

I had an unplanned stay at The Premier Inn next door to the Robin Hood and I can’t praise the customer service enough throughout the night. Impeccable customer service skills from both on duty and both are true asset to the company. My partner and I joined my parents today at the Robin Hood for lunch. My partner and I shared the (chef’s?) platter as a starter, which was absolutely delicious! Our main was the Korean chicken duo, which was absolutely delicious also. As the daughter of a trained chef, I’m reasonably nifty a cook myself, but I’m struggling to work out what’s in this sauce! Which is a crying shame as it’s so so nice. I shall experiment! Overall I don’t think there is much I would have wished for the experience to be better. The lady who served us—I’m sorry I forgot your name, was friendly; helpful and entirely professional. The whole experience was wonderful.

We had our Christmas Dinner there 2023 and as much as we wanted to complain on the day we didn't as due to it being Christmas day. 1/ starter had clearly been sitting on the side all day as the cheese board not cold and discoloured 2/ main meal outrageous, roast potatoes fried and size of a 10p coin hardly any veg and was soggy, clearly sat in water all day 3/ pudding melted pile of slop After trying to have a gentle word, there was no response and all 10 of us was very disappointed 😔 AND STILL NOTHING BUT A COMMENT TO MY POST THE REST OF THE FAMILY ARE VERY SHOCKED AT YOUR RESPONSE AND WILLING TO GIVE THERE FEEDBACK, THE FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING AND IT WAS MENTIONED TO THE WAITER OF THE TABLE , WE PAID £72.99 AND NOT EXPECT FRIED ROAST POTATOES, VEG THAT WAS LIGHT MASH, PUDDING MELTED SLOPE ON A PLATE & CHEESE BOARD WHERE THE CHEESE WAS HARD ETC ETC WE WAS THE LAST TABLE OF THE DAY AND IT SHOWED ON OUR PLATE, MY ORGINAL COMPLAINT WASNT ABOUT THE LACK OF SERVICE DUE TO THE INCIDENT OUT SIDE IT WAS THE FOOD BEING CHRISTMAS DAY.

Went for breakfast on a quiet Sunday morning. The restaurant was empty. Waitresses excellent and apologised profusely as our 2 dishes took an hour to come, and the brioche toast with berries was burnt underneath making it mostly inedible. The waitress was so apologetic, and although we could not get a refund, she offered us another booking with breakfast on the house which was greatly appreciated and we will be returning. If it was not for the waitresses impeccable service we would have made a complaint.

I’ve been staying in the premier inn next door to this great place and if it was lunch and dinner it would be 5 stars all round and if it was just breakfast it would be 2.5 stars all round so 4 seems fair. Breakfast - having to book a set time is not great and doesn’t allow much flexibility if your plans change plus whilst the menu and choice of stuff is vast it is hit and miss with the food, 1 morning it’s char grilled bacon and the next day over grilled but not char grilled, same with the poached eggs 1 day perfect next day like boiled eggs and beans can be hot or cold too, plus the morning staff do make you feel very rushed and not very attentive. However the lunch and dinner service and food is more befitting of a private dining experience rather than a pub chain, no more so than the evening of 15th January when I assume the manager young chap very polite and helpful and his assistant were working, very informative, attentive and great service. I had an issue with my steak on my mixed grill being undercooked which the waitress replaced and didn’t just re cook it she got me a completely new one which was excellent but when it arrived it wasn’t quite to my liking and I’d finished the rest of the meal so left it. As I went to pay the chap acknowledged he was aware of the issue and when I explained the replacement wasn’t great he didn’t hesitate in discounting my bill. I found the whole experience refreshing in an industry that’s not always pro active towards customers and will certainly be back based on this experience and hope the C&B group see this review and act accordingly towards the great evening team who have ensured I remain a customer.

What an amazing experience. brilliant Roast Dinner and the next night a tasty steak pie. Excellent food at great prices. Jamie who served us was just so attentive, even though they were busy, his customer care was second to none, nothing was too much trouble for him, a real gem. All the staff are so nice, and we also had two lovely breakfast, also with great friendly service from the ladies who served us. We will be returning again soon, advising friends to also

I tried to speak to a human today simply to ask if they service breakfast. I was greeted on the telephone by an abrupt robot. This is totally unacceptable. I will NEVER use this establishment.

Wonderful Boxing day family gathering at the Robin Hood. 15 were well looked after and our requests for disabled seating requirements were well met. Lovely 3 course meals served (booked in advance). Short staffed, poor quality of food and long wait!!!

don't like writing bad reviews but the service and food were, well I can't even find the words. When we arived I should have know it wouldn't be good as we were greeted by who I think was the manager, who can't possibly have an iron as his sher looked as if he had just got it from the bottom of the ironing baskets, his trousers looked as if he had had them on all week so not a good impression. We had booked a table for the restaurant, but were seated in the bar, which was OK, given menu's. He came back and got our drinks order. We ordered out food, which considering thier was us 4 an 2 others took nearly an hour to come out. We ordered 1 rare steak, 1 medium steak, gammon and pineapple, and burger and chips. When our steaks and chips arived the chips were dark brown with some light and you could see the oil in side the chips where they had been sitting in old cold oil and some fresh ones added to the dirty oil. I tasted one and had to spit it out I cut in the the rare steak not a sign of pink meat. He then proceed to bring cutlery an other meal, on placing the cutlery down he knocked over 3/4 of pint of beer over the table and me. To which he did say sorry, I asked for blue roll, which he got and stood thier watching as we tried to stop what was left on the table going over me any more. It was over my jumper, my jeans, it had even gone through to my pants, and over my new coat. He continued to watch as I tried to clean and sort my self out, if that had been any one he gave a dam he would have helped and continued to apologise profusely, but not a word. So I said that we could not expect the food and why, and the his attitude toward the hole experience was not acceptable, he did say he would no charge us for our drink. 2 pints of bear one over me and a small glass of wine. I don't blame him entirely as the area manager has to take so of the responsibilities for his

The service was slower than expected, but the food was lovely at our table. we had smothered chicken, their signature burger , and the mixed grill. The food was outstanding . So definitely worth a visit. The staff were lovely and friendly. Would definitely return again .

Had a meal here today, 4 of us. Wasnt great, we had 2 chefs special starter to share, not enough bread for 2 people to have with camerbert and terrine. The terrine was ok but tasted like cornbeef. Camerbert was nice, the spicy chicken was nice. We asked for more bread it took so long to come out we had almost finished. When it eventually came out after asking twice, it was toasted and like little bruchettas. The main courses weren't great, had 2 mixed grills chicken was burnt on both mixed grills, had to ask for another 4oz steak as the first was well done when I asked for medium rare, the signature burger wasn't great pulled beef dripping was more like sliced beef hidden under the cheese with no sauce and the burger tasted more like grit. 10oz ribeye was probably the only good thing. Sticky toffee pudding was ok wasnt great. Had better. The menu looks better than what is served. Atmosphere wasn't great and wasn't busy yet everything took ages to come out like they were busy. Staff were friendly but no apology as to why food took so long. Alot of money was spent which could of got better elsewhere. Tables were sticky too like they had been cleaned with sugar.
