Roast in Glasgow City

Very tasty and smooth black americano, on of my favourites in Glasgow. Scrambled eggs on toast is yummy and fluffy. The prices are more reasonable than others in the neighbourhood. They’re open early, and the staff are very nice and friendly. The shops atmosphere is calm in the mornings, which is just what I need.

When in Glasgow l always pop in for a roll or a breakfast. The food is delicious and the staff always serve it with a smile. Keep up the good work!

If you are looking for a fry up in Glasgow COME HERE! It is delicious and about £3.50 cheaper than other brunch spots. Superb. Great service too.

Of all the coffee outlets in Glasgow this by far is one of, if not the best in so many ways. The range of menu, the value, the excellent staff and the friendly 'no worries, we can do that' attitude is sensational.

Such an amazing little café. Excellent food options, the staff are great, super friendly and welcoming. I have visited this café many times, and never been disappointed. In an area where the simple things can cost more than you expect, this café offers amazing value for money.

They have a couple of vegan options but not many.

Traditional Scottish breakfast done right every time, always struggle to find a cafe that can get it right, this place does. They even bring your bacon crispy when you request it!!😂 coffee is great too.

Really good Dirty Chai unlike most places. The pulled pork roll is a little bit underwhelming, that being said, I would still come again and try other combinations next time.

A lovely wee coffee shop just on the main road heading towards kelvinbridge. Was feeling a coffee amd decided to come here, Very warm welcoming quiet shop. Cosy and the staff are extremely nice and helpful. Latte and the sausage and egg role was top tier! Will definitely be paying a visit again :)

You line up to order, wait outside, and they bring you a drink. The friendly service was great. Since it is a cold region, hot drinks are the main beverages, but iced drinks are also available. Ah was more delicious than Ara.

Excellent services. For an Ozzie, the flat white was great 👍 compared to some areas in the UK. :) food was and Services was excellent. Staff were great and welcoming. If you are looking for some peace and quite with great coffee and food, tots place to be.

Really great cafe. Love the scrambled eggs here and especially the buttered toast!! The price is very reasonable too. The staff are always super friendly And very accommodating and always happy to answer questions.

A small cafe great for a quick stop and a refill. Quick, friendly service. Their Full breakfast roll is so far the best thing we’ve eaten here on our weekend trip, square sausage, bacon, egg, potato farl all in a big bap. Delicious!

The experience today was not good. Ordered a Take out Morning full breakfast, ask scrambled eggs …. Decided to give me a fried egg front house got my order corrected in the kitchen they got it all wrong unfortunately. The square sausage definitely had something wrong with it ❌ overall the presentation inside the little box the food was very greasy (not the standard I had before).

Been here a few times over the past few months and it’s my new favourite spot in Finnieston. The Chai Latte is excellent, probably the best I’ve had. The chicken mayo sandwich was excellent, really fresh and a generous serving. The staff have always been super friendly and happy to chat away whilst waiting for my order. Highly recommend the breakfast roll! Looking forward to my next visit :)

I feel bad giving this rating because I've had so many tasty meals from this place. Roast used to be the absolute pinnacle for sandwiches on argyl street and finnieston but I've had more than a few lacklustre visits post COVID and I don't think the shop has really recovered or boomed. I ordered a sandwich(without cucumber )and soup, got home to discover cucumber on the sandwich. Not a Biggie but kinda annoying. I've had a few moments like this in the last year. No sauce, wrong bread, mayo/when asked for none. Even once I didn't have potato scone on a black pudding potato scone order. Mostly I can overlook those odd mistakes as I've been a regular for years and never has issue. Staff turnover seems a little high so maybe it's related to that. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming but the general standard has changed a bit. It's no longer relaxing to sit in because of the temporary till/cash desk near the door. And the front area is sort of crammed with stock as they seem to be running out of space. was much nicer to sit in when the bar stool and table area was available. Brisket is also almost never available when requested so not sure if they should remove from menu. Original selling point of this place was how good their Roasts menu was. Not sure that's the focus any more. All in all I'd still reccomend trying as it's still really good food, friendly people and usually spot on.

Fantastic little cafe!! My chai latte was soo yummy, as was my avocado stacker, definitely recommend getting eggs with it. guy with glasses (don't know his name sorry!) was fantastic. The soup was fantastic too!! Unbeatable prices, couldn't recommend more 😄😄

The waiter was super nice and helpful: she really took the time to describe us some choice in the menu. The sandwiches were good and hitting the spot. Only negative point is we were cold because sitting not far from the door

Love this place! Billy the Barista is absolutely brilliant, great beans and delicious bacon.

My husband and I were looking for a quick breakfast spot in the neighborhood and found this gem. Tiny spot with limited seating, but we were able to snag a seat. We both had the avocado toast with fried eggs which was delicious. They were also super accommodating for gluten free - all of their toasties and sandwiches can be made on GF bread. I even watched the cook use parchment to protect my GF bread from cross contamination when toasting! Husband also had a side of bacon, which he raved about. Highly recommend for meat-loving and gluten free visitors!

I was quite surprised by the high rating this cafe had. But locals I spoke to like it. It wasn't busy and had 3 staff, but not very organised. The coffee was really weak and the roll was pretty hard, not the soft Scottish roll I expected.

The sandwiches are fantastc as are the staff

Yet again turned up at 2.45 on a Sunday to find Roast had closed early....With a 3pm vlose advertised I was disappointed to pindar it closed at 2.45 after driving 7 miles to get there......So disappointed as I absolutely love the food here. Maybe a good idea to open slightly later.Cant understand why it closes so early when clearly the business is there...

Dropped in today on a recommendation from a friend for a sandwich to go. There was lots of options including many vegetarian choices. I went for a toastie with vegi haggis, cheese, mushrooms and beans and it was delicious! Will definitely be back again (fully willing to try every option on the menu!)

Came here with my partner for lunch and we left very satisfied! We ordered peri peri chicken ciabatta and a cheesesteak ciabatta for a modest price and they were delicious! The best part of lunch though was the mochas. They were made and served to us by a staff member, Viola, who was very pleasant to us and made sure we were having a good lunch. She was fast in making our order and served it to us with a smile on her face! 100% recommend it for a great lunch spot due to the tasty food and friendly staff!

I loooove this place. Delicious quick bites and decent coffee. If you’re veggie (or not) I highly recommend the veggie stacker - bangin. Friendly and attentive service. It’s small in there though! Usually spots if you want to dine in but people tend to crowd around to order.

Always try and stop in when we are nearby and it never disappoints! Cheese steak and a burger this time around, both were delish. Thanks!

Lovely spot for breakfast or brunch. I had the French toast and it was great. Really liked the decor. Took a bit longer than I would have liked to get our food, but it was absolutely worth it and the staff were really lovely. Will go back!

We where just looking for some brunch and we where not disappointed. The staff where very friendly and helpful. Dogs are made very welcome 😊 They do a choice of different sandwiches, paninis and rolls. The steak panini was soo tasty! We will definitely be back to try more!

Stopped off for a bite of lunch before visiting the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. We had an excellent soup and sandwich sit in, the food was fresh and tasty and the staff very pleasant and efficient. Price was most reasonable, would highly recommend this wee gem of a place. It was busy with takeaways too.

So glad I popped into Roast yesterday morning. I had an excellent breakfast roll and great coffee. Service was quick and pleasant. Surprised it was so quiet. Hopefully more people will support this great wee coffee shop.

The pulled pork sandwich is one of best sandwiches I've ever eaten. The pork was very tender and was covered in tasty bbq sauce. There was also a good dollop of homemade coleslaw on the top. Great price too. The Cafe inside is small and during covid times is not available for sitting in. There are a few tables outside but most people were getting their food to-go. You've got to try this place!

Easily one of the best places in Glasgow the philli cheese steak will blow your mind and your load!!!!

The food at Roast is amazing. My favourite is the beef brisket sandwich with gravy and mini onions. The huge portion is enough for 2 people for a quick lunch

We went there on our second day in the morning and then we started to go everyday until we leave. Everything is amazing and the staff are very friendly.

Visited for lunch, fantastic lentil soup, gluten free and great winter warmer. Service was prompt, efficient and friendly. Really great hidden gem.

I went here purely for the cheese steak sandwiches but now they have perfected a Cuban Sandwich I have a real problem! Bravo Roast, Bravo.

Hicimos nuestro pedido con el cajero y nos sentamos mientras esperábamos nuestro pedido.El cajero, que también se dobla como preparación de alimentos, comenzó a limpiar, limpiando los platos sucios de los clientes, triturando los alimentos y la basura en la basura con sus propias manos. Cuando terminó, se secó las manos en el delantal, supongo que eso los hizo a todos limpios.El cajero procedió a ayudar a los siguientes clientes que entraron. Visité Roast hoy y tanto yo como mi esposa comimos el sándwich de filete de queso de Filadelfia. A pesar de que la cartelera fuera de la tienda afirmaba que cambiaría tu vida, me decepcionó bastante. Básicamente era una ciabatta con tiras de bistec masticable y algo parecido al queso. Sin cebollas, pimientos, salsa, etc. Lo peor de todo el queso parecía haber sido colocado en el sándwich frío.El precio era razonable, creo que era 12. 20 para dos bocadillos y dos latas de jugo. Me gustó el ambiente acogedor de la cafetería, el personal parecía agradable.P. S. La imagen solo muestra la mitad del sándwich que abrí para los fines de la imagen.

Defiantly the best sliders in Glasgow.I just had a goats cheese.pulled pork.and steak and cheese slider for my lunch and they were absolutely delish. I would most certainly recommend this little gem if you are in the area.I will be back again for sure....yum yum...

Delicious cheesy haggis and black pudding toastie. The wait was long that a customer after me ordered and finished his food before me, maybe he was a fast eater or maybe it was my unlucky day, either way still a great little cafe to rest your feet after exploring the Kelvingrove art gallery & museum.

A friend recommended this place for their cheesesteak. It is somewhere I have walked past thousands of time and thought nothing of it. I can't believe I never visited before. The philli cheesesteak is the greatest sandwich I have ever consummed. It was the perfect portion size and was only a fiver! The coffees are also very nice.

I'm a southsider for whom no day in the west end is complete without a visit to Roast for a hearty brisket roll with all the trimmings and a cold limonata to wash it down. Preferably on a dry day when I can take-away and sit on the steps of the Art Galleries and watch the world go by. Terrific.

Encontramos este café después de visitar el museo Kelvingrove. Teníamos de camote, Chili y Coco Sopa que estaba delicioso (incluso mis 3 chicas adolescentes comimos! ) y caliente; seguida por una sandwichera que era reventar con rellenos. El personal era muy amable y el único inconveniente es el café en sí podría hacer con un poco de cuidado, pero la comida excelente y sabroso compensan ese pequeño detalle sin importancia. Sin duda lo recomiendo y esperamos volver pronto.

Solíamos vivir cerca de este pequeño café pero nunca había sido particularmente visitantes regulares por alguna razón. Aseguraron en (dos veces! ) durante un largo fin de semana de estancia en la ciudad y el brunch día/opciones de desayuno en el menú sin duda dio en el clavo. Opciones interesantes, muy sabrosa y grandes porciones a precios muy razonables (4 libras por un enorme sándwich vegetariano apiladora" "por ejemplo, intenta conseguir un precio similar desayuno en ninguna de las alternativas más lujosas en el ligeramente la zona. . . )

We had an amazing breakfast meal here. Our American guests wanted to try traditional Scottish caf breakfasts but also wanted decent coffee. Roast has both AND produced to a great standard. We need places like this in London!

Varied and well priced options. Generous with very good quality fillings, e.g. honey glazed ham. However, atmosphere was a bit smoky. They could get their extraction system in the kitchen sorted... A few more relish/chutney options would be welcome, e.g. tomato chutney.

Este lugar ha cambiado de manos? Solía ser un lugar de café y cuando fuimos en el otro día parece que se convirtió en una escala y salchichas tienda roll. Me fui apestando a grasa después de esperar en un café. Podrían hacer con la apertura de la puerta o algo para dejar entrar aire fresco entrar. Parece tener una clientela de neddy ned cuota personal y ahora también. No me malinterpretéis, no hay nada malo acerca de este, pero ten en cuenta que no es el mismo lugar que solía ser, a pesar de que buscan desde el frente.

Entramos a esta pequeña cafetería ya que estaba lloviendo y nos llevamos una grata sorpresa, incluso volvimos para comer. Está situado cerca del museo Kelvingrove.No tiene mucho espacio para sentarse pero la mayoría de gente pide comida para llevar. Pedimos unos chai latte para desayunar. Estaban buenos y bien de precio (2.5 libras cada uno). Para comer pedimos unas tostadas de brie con arándanos que estaban deliciosas (3.5 libras cada una) y un té de gengibre para calentarnos después de la lluvia (1.5 libras).La camarera era muy maja y repitió lo que no entendía sin ningún problema.Muy recomendable, sobre todo para desayunos y comidas.

Arrived in the city and was lucky enough that this cafe was just round the corner from our hotel. The food selection was great and quirky and I enjoyed the delicious pulled pork sandwich with BBQ sauce and coleslaw. When it arrived I thought it was ginormous but far too tasty to leave any behind. It had a great atmosphere, you could say quite bustling with more people coming in for take out than sitting in. Loved this place, great vibes. 10/10 recommend

A brilliant choice of freshly made in house eat in or take away tasty treats - a great place for lunch. Super friendly staff who seem to know lots of the customers who are obviously regulars. Food cooked fresh to order but all very efficient - and chatty while you wait. Nothing seems too much trouble. And the food tastes great - I have now sampled LOTS of the menu options - can only recommend it all. I know I sound a bit gushy in my praise, but this really is a great place.

This is a very friendly place where food is cooked to order and is delicious. It is reasonable and much cheaper (and better) than Montgomery's nearby.They welcome dogs too.

Was in the west end of Glasgow and decided to go grab a cup of coffee and a late breakfast/early lunch, and stumbled on Roast.Not the biggest place, and not much in the way of tables and seats, but very welcoming with a nice warm and friendly welcome from the great staff who work in the place.Great selection of sit in and take away meals, with a mixtures of toastie's, sandwiches, soups and meals to select from, as well as a pretty big coffee and tea menu to select from.As there was a couple of places to sit, I decided to eat in and ordered a BLT (with a choice of brown or white bread) and a latte (though I wish I had spotted the "Wee Beastie" toastie - haggis, black pudding, cheese etc.....) and was a excellent early morning pick me up.Easily one of the best independent cafe's in Glasgow and will certainly be back again in future.
