RLB Cafe in Plymouth

RLB Café was originally named, Southside Café by the architects, because of the huge terrace out on the southside of the building to catch the Devon sunshine off the English Channel. The sun terrace is fitted with photovoltaic cells to power the lights in the café area. The view down to Millbay, where this video-pan ends, is spectacular, and helps you plan your walking route to go to see the new EU Millbay Boulevard with its hotels. My writer's residency was in Millbay from which came the story 'Millbay & Mill Bay' for the UNESCO Cities of Literature.

Good food choices. Friendly staff. Nice view over traffic.

Coffee etc including meals, open to public when open in term time. Large outdoor area.

Good cafe, supporting and showing art of Roland Levinsky, however it is a pity that this establishment has not funded and restored, the painting on the building situated at the Barbican, as not only would this be a tourist attraction, it would also commemorate his work, and show it to the public for free, after all this must have been the reason he completed this peice, isn't it?...........

What is available here very broad range. It just needs to be more welcoming less academia.

Really expensive and the food they served me tasted horrible... I ordered rice with beef curry for £4.20 and they gave me a child's portion! Food extremely salty, and quite frankly, disgusting. Avoid at all costs.

Affordable food, drinks and a terrace which is great to sit in the sun

Absolutely loving the vegan sandwiches and wraps that they have to offer. Prices are also reasonable.

Good place to get a cooked breakfast, and work.

Food is quite expensive, hot drinks are a reasonable price and the staff are lovely! A lively cafe with a nice open terrace space and a good range of hot and cold food.

Doubled pretty much all of their prices while I was studying there. Should just go Tesco.
