I regularly pop into Wonky Tulip as it is just around the corner from my flat and I've always had fantastic service from the super friendly staff. The food is absolutely amazing, particularly because of the homemade bread used for sandwiches. I highly recommend anyone in the city, either visiting or just lives here, to go there when they can.

During our 4 day trip to Hull we popped into the Wonky Tulip each day either for breakfast or just coffee. It is situated just across the river from the Premier Inn, at one of the entrances to the Old Town. The coffee was so good, a million miles away from some of the awful stuff served up by the large chains The staff all did a great job, welcoming and friendly, and particular thanks to Linda? who gave us lots of tips/information on things that were going on. Their bread was really good and we bought a loaf to take home. Price wise everything was great value If you like quality coffee and friendly service you won't be disappointed

Where have they found the staff? Been multiple times and met all three staff members and they’re all so welcoming and charming. The menu is very good with an array of options and the house made cakes are to die for. Plus its the best coffee in Hull by a country mile! Great to see they’re still open during lockdown and are following guidelines very well, would recommend to all locals and travellers.

Wonky Tulip (new name) - we were staying at the nearby Premier Inn and wanted to support a local business so we called here for breakfast. Mark was welcoming and made us feel at ease in the current climate. We had excellent freshly made sandwiches and hot drinks. Thoroughly recommend this place and the breakfast wrap, a shame we were too full for the cakes. Thank you Mark for you Liverpool recommendation. Will definitely visit next time we are in Hull, and will pass your place to our friends.

Excellent coffee. We come to Hull from Sheffield on a regular basis and and their coffee is second to none. Over 3 days we had flat whites/lattes/cappuccinos and every cup was perfect in both taste and temperature. Staff are very friendly and we would recommend this place to any coffee aficionado. Thanks guys.

In the current climate we all need a pick-me-up & that is what I got when Riverhouse Coffee opened again serving take-out coffee & snacks. If you are strolling around the old town in Hull give them a try. The coffee is amazing & served by really friendly staff who are currently making the best of a bad situation. They are very well organised & have put a lot of thought into abiding by the current rules. Let's all support our independent coffee shops.

We happened upon this place when out exploring some of the older parts of the city on a damp Sunday morning and decided to ‘risk’ a coffee, our second of the day. Nice place inside but there is much scope for improvement on their flat white coffee - it was served too hot for our taste, a little bitter in taste and the foam was not dense enough (more suited to a cappuccino), hence not allowing for any latte art (not absolutely essential but a good sign of proper care & attention). With several better options elsewhere in the City for great coffee, I guess we’ll not be hurrying back.

A visit to Riverside Cafe is a must when visiting Hull’s Old Town Very friendly staff who really are accommodating, I recommend the leaf tea and they have a nice mix of cakes which are really reasonable. They have a limited menu but well worth the visit.

My husband and I stopped here on Saturday morning just by chance. We received a very friendly welcome from the young lady working and another customer who told us how good it was. I had a bacon and egg sandwich, which was very good quality & my husband a breakfast bagel which he devoured before I had a chance to taste it! Tea and coffee good too, everything served with a smile and a friendly chat. Definitely recommend this place.

Lovely decor and an interesting range of food. Hubby had a smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel. I had poached eggs with Halloumi and garlic mushrooms and sourdough toast with a spicy tomato relish. It was really tasty. :)

We came across this cafe on the way back from the Museum District. A small cafe, well-decorated with a couple of cookery books on each table, Service was fine. Very nice coffee, possibly the best home-made mushroom soup I've had, plus home-baked bread.

River House Coffee Co is a rather attractive cafe in the old town. The decor is modern and innovative, and this is certainly the first time I've seen upside down plants on the ceiling!
