Vienen aquí una vez al mes como local para reuniones. Lugar agradable. Vistas del Támesis. Un pequeño tesoro escondido en este pot la finca. Me gusta aquí.

This is the first time I've done an afternoon tea outside of Zone 1 and I'd have to say it's quite hard to give fair points to the experience as the competition from the high end hotels is tough! Three stars based mainly on the quality of the food. Finger sandwiches not refined enough. The scones were great but the top layer of cakes didn't look appetising (as in it looked far too sweet). I scrapped off all the royal icing off everything. I liked the prosecco, the ambience, the location and the service. But needs more refinement to compete with the big boys!

Came for a birthday meal as it has a lovely location and is very convenient, the food was poor (over cooked and not particularly tasty), but the service was absolutely shocking: Extremely slow (with no one else in the restaurant, which should have been a warning sign!) and lots of missed orders, and the bill was even incorrect at the end of the night! Extremely disappointing..I would have given it 0/5 if I could

Came on a Friday evening, they have an amazing cocktail list on happy hour (£6.50 a cocktail from 7ish to 9ish - but we had one at 6:30 :-). Food was very nice - had the burger and calamari - sounds fairly basic but this place adds a very nice twist. Live singer from 8pm (Jenn Moxham) makes the day - views from the river are great. New management have turned this place around to make it a very friendly place to come and relax

It was hard to tell if this was supposed to be a self-service restaurant given there was hardly any hope of being served at your table. Most customers ended up walking to the bar where the staff were chatting and reading newspapers, or had to shout across the large space. It's a nice space and the menu is interesting, but I wouldn't return. Whoever owns this needs to invest in staff training, or hire someone who gives a damn.

I was staying at the Bridges Wharf apartments for a week in July, so the Battersea Quarter was my closest restaurant. It was a flying visit to London for me to catch up with friends/family and the Battersea Quarter was a perfect venue to meet everybody. An easy walk from the apartment. So I went there 3 times! The food was good, the staff very friendly and the prices were very reasonable. We all agreed that it was a lovely restaurant and the Thames views were a bonus. Thanks so much.

We had booked a table at 7 pm on a Friday and they sat us by the open windows which was lovely as it was a gorgeous sunny evening. The restaurant was pretty dead for most of out time there. There was maybe two or three other customers in there which we were surprised about. Service was fairly quick (although you would be worried if it wasn't as we were pretty much the only people in there). The waiter neglected to tell us that the tuna and halibut was off the menu which was a bit annoying as we had already taken a while contemplating our choices and this should be one of the first things he told us. We went for the corn fed chicken in a mushroom sauce and the Asian style salmon. I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken (yummy mash!) and my boyfriend liked his salmon with tempura veg (although I feel for £17 it was quite a small portion)

The restaurant seems to have changed its name recently. There is a good range of light and more substantial meals, and drinks. Felafel wrap is always a hit with me and this place was no exception. My husband had the duck confit wrap which was also good. Weston's organic Wyldwood cider was full bodied and clearly made with actual apples - I do wish people would offer ice rather than just putting it in though. It may be trendy to drink cider with ice but aficionados never do! The banoffee pie for dessert was interesting and delicious - biscuit base, bananas, layer of caramel and light topping, accompanied by salted caramel ice cream and roast banana. Definitely one to go for. The prices were very reasonable and we would certainly go again.

This place has a great location but strangely its not very busy. Its not awful its just poor in a few areas and this drags the place down.My fellow workers go there frequently and are usually surprised how the service can be so indifferent. Its the staff that can make or break a place and this restaurant lacks the consistency of staff and management to make it great. The drinks are also quite expensive which is a pity .This has huge potential and they need a good manager and some good full time waiters and they would improve their fortunes within a month and make it a whole lot nicer for us poor punters!.

Came here in March 2015 with my boyfriend and his mother (who was using a wheelchair) for afternoon tea, and found the service to be excellent and the staff very accommodating. I made the booking in advance, and despite being over 45 minutes late, our seats were still reserved next to the window which I thought was lovely. The food itself was very good. A generous serving of sandwiches, sweet treats and delicious cakes, as well as tea which were extremely filling!I have to say I felt compelled to make this review after reading so many negative ones. I will note that I did try to make a repeat online booking for the same, and noticed they seem to have disabled this function for unknown reasons. Perhaps things have changed in the short time since we visited, but we all had a very lovely experience.

We had brunch here a few days ago. When we first walked in there were three dirty tables and three other groups of customers---the place was really empty considering it was Bank Holiday weekend and a sunny day. Tables remained uncleared throughout most of our meal. I hate that and there was no reason for it---it's unsightly and put me off. The manager seemed to camp out at the till behind the bar and there seemed to be only one person waiting on tables, not clearing them. The manager didn't seem to notice the 12foot table covered in debris. Althought the place was dead we waited quite awhile for our drinks and coffee to arrive. Our server looked completely disinterested. When the food arrived it looked okay but the Full English wasn't abundant and my pancakes had a mere smidgen of syrup on them, disappointing because they were rather good pancakes. All in all the meal was tight!!! Utterly disappointing as this place could be a real honeypot for locals and any passers by walking along the river. Get with the program River Quarter, your poor TripAdvisor ratings and comments are completely truthful. Support the kitchen, give them some slack and pick up the front of house as it is a disappointing disgrace.

I used to absolutely love this place - to the extent I'd come here every weekend for either lunch of breakfast. It started going downhill from either January or February - disorganised and unexperienced staff, slow service, cheaper products (eg. teapigs teabags seem to now be tetley but with a top-end price point). Little things like paper serviettes instead of linen, cartoon juice instead of fresh. They seem to be cost cutting (despite the premium prices) and don't seem to have much pride in their offering anymore. The only good thing is the actual food - I seriously hope they don't cost cut here because they're pretty pricey. I'm really gutted - I've tried it five times since Feb in the hope it was a blip and it just hasn't improved so they've lost my custom for good.

I had been to this restaurant twice before for afternoon tea and was very happy with the service. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for this visit. I had booked the table online some 5 days before but I don't think they checked their online bookings as they were completely unprepared for us.The bread on the sandwiches was very dry, there was a mouldy blueberry on one of the cup cakes and the cakes were not moist but extremely dry. On our prior visits what each person received was fairly substantial, however we received barely enough for two let alone three people. This led us to believe that this was thrown together in such haste using whatever they had left in the fridge from previous afternoon tea guests that week.We did complain and the staff (who were yet again completely different) were very apologetic. The waitress took it back and returned stating that she was not happy with what they had in the kitchen and offered us fresh cakes that were baked that morning. Sadly to say that after that experience we shall not be returning there to dine.

Had a pretty awful dinner for 6 last night, which is in complete contrast to the scores of visits over the prior two years. The management, chef and staff had all changed and the chef even managed to fail with chicken over fresh vegetables !The menu had narrowed considerably and the wine list was a disaster - poor quality, ltd selection . They were changing wine supplier - promised us a discount for the " bin- ends" which in retrospect I see we didn't receive !The owners are pulling out the working capital, lowering costs in every direction and ruining what was one of Londons great quality for money restaurant choices

I've been running passed this place for the last year or so and always thought it looks like a potentially good neighbourhood restaurant. Impressions from the outside are good - food menu covering all parts of the day, a well-stocked bar and smartly dressed team. Mid-run I took the plunge and stuck a slightly sweaty face around the door to book a table for the following Sunday lunch. Part of me wishes they had taken one look at my running gear and turned me down.It really wasn't a great afternoon. When I reserved we were the first people in the book for that lunch, unfortunately the window table we requested didn't subsequently materialise so the option of looking at the river was taken away and I actually had to talk to my other half! It then took 40 minutes from ordering for the starters to arrive. These starters were only soup and a salad which should be standard and ready to go from the start of service. The Sunday Roasts were, not much better - Yorkshire Pudding was overdone/hard/black, one slightly soggy "roast" potato (honestly guys, the best roasts are small, mashed and crispy) and exactly the same veg reappearing that had been part of the starter. It took me a week to fancy having another French bean.On the plus side, the waiter was friendly and we got a couple of free drinks because of the wait. Maybe we just caught them on an off day - the place was obviously popular so it could have just been bad luck. Then again, reading the below review....

First of all I would like to say that this restaurant looks lovely. We live nearby and have walked past several times and thought it looks great, nice decor, quiet, river view etc. However, once we walked inside it all went wrong. We visited for breakfast and were greeted by a waiter and we asked to have a seat by the window which hadn't been cleared yet. The waiter took to organising some other things before he did anything and then we were greeted by another waitress who ignored that we wanted a particular table and showed us to another one. We were happy to sit down so decided to order some drinks before we chose our food.It took 15 minutes for us to be asked what drinks we wanted. Another 15 minutes later only one drink had arrived and we still hadn't been asked to order food. During this time we noticed two meals had been returned to the kitchen by other tables... Not a good sign, and therefore were put off ordering any food.We decided to leave the restaurant, and when we asked for the bill we received one with three drinks on it (two of which never arrived!)... When we told the waiter this he proceeded to tear off the drinks we didn't order. This terrible service, was not even due to a lack of staff. There were about 8 people in view working at the restaurant however all staff were unable to make a coffee, orange juice or even ask us to order our food. The half an hour we spent in the restaurant was laughable and luckily we saw the funny side and left the restaurant baffled as to how a restaurant in a perfect location could be the worst we have ever visited!!

We ate here at a literary lunch a few months ago and were impressed by the food. Not so the second time around. The place was virtually empty yet the waiting staff were still distracted and horribly slow. They completely forgot about one of our main courses. We had to ask for it twice before it finally came – without an explanation or an apology. The fish in the Warm Tuna Niçoise was not very fresh and left an unpleasant taste in the mouth. Was almost like it had been cooked before and then served to us cold (definitely note warm and freshly-cooked). A real shame because it's a lovely spot and Battersea deserves better!

Food is fantastic whenever we've been here! The local businesses were invited to a canapés & drinks evening which we attended last night. Lucky for us not a huge number of people responded to the invite so we got absolutely stuffed on delicious canapés :)There have been a few issues not related to the food - previously the service for lunch has been very slow and as I've only gone on a working lunch there this has been an issue. However I have spoken to them about this and new management assure me this is a problem they have identified and have resolved. Plus they are writing a new express menu specifically for this purpose. Also they made a mistake with one of our orders once and it took quite a long time for the original dish to be brought out.I like to sneak over here to get the deep fried squid for lunch with a nice glass of wine while I wait!

Really don't know what's happened to this place. Had a couple of really nice meals in the past. Drinks order came wrong, starter cold and the mains were just inedible. Rib eye wasnt even a rib eye and blue not medium rare, totally raw.. Just seared. Hand cut chips from before replaced by frozen and bernaise sauce was a lame spoonful. Lamb dish looked like a 4 year old had plated it up and meat woefully underdone.Staff couldn't handle the tables in there and I had to ask for starters to be cleared and go to bar myself to order drinks. Whilst there found out the pale ale was on draught but not on the drinks menu, also wine we wanted wasnt available. Asked to see the manager and he couldn't give a toss, just contradicted everything and walked away.. Not even offered an apology First time I've ever walked out of a restaurant in my life.. Didn't touch any of the main course. Funnily enough I spoke to a lady on the next table who also had cause to complain and agreed this was pathetic. Will never return and id suggest you don't bother wasting your time and money, if I could give this zero stars it would be too many.. A truly ghastly Halloween experience

My friend had booked ahead for the afternoon tea. Eventually two plates with cream and jam came out....then nothing! For another twenty minutes! By now we had been there for nearly an hour. All the tea was gone. Someone brought us over a cake stand of stale sandwiches, rock solid dry scones and cakes. We couldn't even get through the scones as it was like sawdust. We asked to take the small cakes away with us and later found the brownies to be like lead and the White....well who knows what it was?! Icing with coconut maybe? Vile. They went into the bin. A waste of nearly £40! But the views were nice!

We arrived as a family of 4 (two kids aged 10 & 6) at 12.20 on a Sunday. They did not have our online reservation as they said it had been made that day, however there was plenty of space. We were sat and then told we would have to wait half an hour to eat as the kitchen changed from breakfast to lunch. Not ideal. We had to ask for the kids menus as they weren't handed out, then ask for the crayons to go with the menus for kids (basic stuff). They couldn't give us any bread to have in the meantime. We ordered Bloody Marys which tasted horrible. We were told that was because they used vanilla vodka in them... Well it would have been good to ask whether we would like the vanilla vodka, not just given it. Really not nice. Finally we ordered. Our dishes arrived and then we had to wait another 5 mins for the kids' to come (again basic). Their fish and chips was almost inedible. In fact they left most of it. I ordered the Pork Belly Sunday lunch, but was brought a different pork dish. Fruit salad came as part of the kids menu, but it was definitely more adult being mostly papaya and red currants - again left. Sadly we came away feeling we had really wasted our money. Great setting. Food and service just not up to it.

We ate here on Sunday about 1.45. Our son had completed a half marathon that morning. We sat and waited. After a while we were able to order some drinks. Then we ordered some food. Then the tap water arrived. Then the cider and glass of prosecco arrived shortly followed by the first course - and we were still waiting for the two Meantime pale ales. No apologies but they scurried off - the barrel was being changed - and brought us two glasses of Meantime lager! Eventually two glasses of pale ale followed - pints rather than the 330ml advertised. Alongside this we were told that there was no more Sauvignon Blanc but that the Spanish wine next to it on the menu was equally good - it was not, more fool us for having taken their advice. The main courses arrived and then the empties began to pile up on the table - we were lucky that there was a side table within reach. We had some desserts. The bill came - it was wrong -the second one was wrong and we paid the third without paying the discretionary 12.5% SERVICE CHARGE.Now the good news. The food was some of the best of its type that we can remember. The Calamari were the best and have changed my mind about them. - not chewy and they were delicious, as was the avocado and tomato salad. Put together with great care in our view. Two of us had coley and chips - best fish and chips we've had was the comment; two of us had other fish dishes. Salmon with celeriac mousse etc very lovely and I had Stone Bass - with carrot puree etc Great. One of the puddings was excellent and the sorbet/ice cream was tasty - blackcurrant and mango in particular. The Eton Mess was nothing of the kind. Whipped cream with what looked like bought in mini meringue swirls and some chunks of strawberry topped with redcurrants.I thanked the chef and told him that I thought his excellent food was being let down by the front of house. It started soon after we sat down when a waiter filled the water glasses of a table nearby but then walked straight past us. I assumed that he must be covering a different patch of the restaurant - but no, he was ours. I assumed that the manager would come across and enquire if everything was OK when we declined to pay the 12.5% SERVICE CHARGE but no he did not despite our waiter telling him. [The waiter made a point that the service charge did not go to the staff in any event - it was no skin off his nose.]It is a shame since this restaurant has, largely, great food and is in a fantastic waterside location with cormorants and shags (and ,for us a heron) perching just outside. If it could get its service right then it would be a great place to eat.

Having eaten at River Quarter since it first opened my experiences have always been mixed. My partner and I ate there on a Saturday morning and straight away we noticed it was busier than we have ever seen it, which we thought a good sign. It was, however, full of families with lots of small children which is not our cup of tea, but I guess good if you have a young family. The space itself is pleasant with a nice view of the river, though the banquettes were a little dirty. Unfortunately, the food has hit an all time low. Toasted brioche appears to be served with everything - a significant step backward from the delicious sourdough toast offered previously. The coffee was adequate but a bit insipid. My omelette arrived open like a frittata with extremely salty cheese which I had not ordered, and was drowned in a sea of parsley sticking to the gloomy cheese, rrendering it almost inedible. Having left 95% of the dish the waitress enquired if there was a problem, and after me explaining she apologised. No offer of a replacement nor compensation. I then noticed that I had been charged an additional £1:50 for tomatoes (which were tasteless chunks) which previously were included as tomato and onion. This was a really awful start to the weekend. We will not be returning for the foreseeable future.

My husband and I were staying at a near by hotel and decided to eat here as the menu looks appealing and the hygiene rating. We were impressed on the look of the restaurant - looks fresh and bright. We ordered (posh?) fish and chips - approx £12.95 each. The portion looked small but tasted nice until I cut into the middle of my fish and it was stone cold. So I called the waiter who said he would check it?! A few minutes later the same peice of fish arrived again but re-fried! Then the waiter lied and told us it was a small cut of a fresh fish - how rude. In the end I was put of and lost trust. The manager was apologetic but if your paying that price it shouldnt happen. Our meal was spoilt.....so will never return again.

First visit to the Kitchen at Battersea, London for Breakfast..Waiter Service was very attentive. and food quality was excellent.. BEWARE!!! if you ask for a pot of tea with your meal it will cost you £5.95 per person, which is over the top. If we return it will be fruit juice in future. I agree with the other reviews the Kitchen was not rushed, very few diners but the food did take a while to arrive.

wife took me and daughters for a lunch. The location is beautiful set within Battersea Reach. The restaurant itself is modern, light, and very welcoming. Three of us enjoyed spiced calamari, very generous portions, for starters, then mains were mixture of burger, salad and duck, tasty and delicious. Two had puds, Eton mess and cheese board and both were rated as good. We shared a delicious bottle of Pinot Grigio and all in all felt that at £130 including service charge, it was not bad value. The two waiters who looked after us were very friendly, efficient and made the experience all the more enjoyable.

A great restaurant on the side of the river Thames just upstream from Battersea Heliport. The food was simply cooked but of very good quality. Portions were of a good size and the staff were reasonably attentive although there were only a few other diners and so they were definitely not rushed. The prices are a bit on the steep side but I guess that the area is pretty affluent and so prices will be inflated which is sad for visitors. Only 2 questions, having eaten here 3 times now on business trips, how will it ever remain open without attracting more customers? and if there are more customers will the service suffer?

Went there to celebrate my graduation. It was not too bad, except that the service and time the food arrived was too long considering it was almost empty. Also they ran out of items on the menu, which as well is a bit weird considering it was very quiet. My partner ordered a steak for the price of almost £20 which came looking rather poor, the meat looked liked it was bought at a cheap supermarket, garnished with 3 salad leaves, fries out if the freezer (I can tell the difference very quickly). The mussels were nice though as were the starters. So it is the steak that was disappointing and the overall speed of service/ food. Waiters were polite but had to be reminded of things. I would not return.

Customer service was appalling. My partner and I were told they had no eggs, but we were able to order pancakes and French toast (surely these need eggs?). Waited a long time for breakfast to arrive (the restaurant only had 3 other customers), and they only served us the French toast and forgot the pancakes. Later we saw a couple eating a full English breakfast with eggs quite clearly still being served! Poor communication and extremely poor service. Over priced for the quality of the food - will not be returning.

Great spot on Plantation Wharf. We had a late casual lunch of burgers, chicken and beef. The food was a modern take on these traditional staples. Both were very tasty and came with excellent hand cut chips. The staff were attentive and particular which was very nice.

Having cycled past the River Quarter on a number of times, I suggested a family visit for lunch, on a wet Bank Holiday Monday. We were given the table in the window with the best view of the Thames. All good hearty food, fish&chips, veggie pasta etc.....didn't have puds but they looked good as did the breakfast menu.....it has wireless and you could work from there (as others were)...didn't read reviews before but service was good and friendly for us...we parked in the street behind for free......but i will cycle next time........

Believe the bad reviews! This is without doubt the worst restaurant I have experienced.I have just waited over an hour for food and was then told the order had been lost - and had to be taken again. There was no real apology, not even an offer of bread or . . . anything. Another 15 minutes and I found the new manager and demanded bread, which eventually arrived. There was a pathetic attempt to apologise but no interest in asking why neither he nor the waiter who took our order didn't notice we hadn't been served when others who came later were eating. It's fairly basic that this is part of a waiter's job.'I'll be right back to tell you what's happening,' said the manager - who then disappeared! Another 10 minutes and so did we - after almost 90 minutes. There was still no food on our table. The worst thing is that not only did the same thing happen to the table next to us, but my guest had had the same experience the previous visit, when the restaurant was almost empty. here's clearly a complete lack of professional understanding or training at a site that should be packed day and night. But when waiters and waitresses and the manager don't see what's happening in their stations, when they simply ignore people who come in looking to eat and neither is there a constant eye managing the place, it deserves to go out with the tide. There are plenty of professional young men and women who could make this place buzz. Not those currently employed. Hard to believe it's London, it's Battersea, it's on the river and it's the 21st century.

I found the River Quarter Kitchen online after searching for afternoon tea options in my local area and decided to book this for my 30th birthday celebrations.I called the restaurant 3 weeks before I wished to make a booking. No one answered the phone whenever I called or responded to my voice messages.Luckily my boyfriend had more perseverance and managed to book a table for afternoon tea for the specified date and time, making it clear that it was for a special occasion. He also confirmed the booking twice more, the last time being the morning of the occasion. When we arrived and confirmed our booking, the waiter bought out the a la carte menu, so I told him we'd made a booking for afternoon tea assuming it was a simple mistake. He was immediately very rude and argumentative and said we hadn't requested this in advance and that they didn't have the food to accommodate our requirement (no scones for afternoon tea - although looking around the other tables seemed to have enough scones to go around!). When my boyfriend told him we'd even confirmed it by phone that very morning he continued to argue with us telling us he hadn't confirmed anything of the sort. This was for a party of 10 people and the argument took place in front of the whole (albeit almost empty) restaurant - a very poor first impression. It’s not exactly hard to make sandwiches and scones after all. I think this could have been resolved easily without the confrontation. The waiter clearly didn’t care if we stayed or went elsewhere and I was happy to walk out but my boyfriend asked to speak to someone else to resolve the situation. The next person that came out (the manager?) was pleasant and told us there would be no problem in providing us what we'd booked 3 whole weeks ago, and took our orders with no further problems.Moving onto the food.... the savoury selection was small, definitely less than any other place I've been for afternoon tea and took a while to get to us. The desserts selection was much bigger than the savoury selection; some were very sweet, I think one of the desserts was a block of pure icing sugar! The cupcakes were nice though. As for the aforementioned scones - we were given 5 small, hard scones between 10 of us (diameter wise I'd say about 3-4cm). I think they should have just bought some from Sainsbury's around the corner if they really couldn't mix up a suitable batch.I was disappointed that if you request champagne afternoon tea, you don't get a normal tea too - this is the first time that I have had to choose one or the other. Also, if you get normal afternoon tea you only get 1 cup, whereas everywhere else I have been offered more when you have finished your cup of tea. After all of this, they still added on service charge to the bill - very cheeky considering how poor the service and food was. Overall I was very disappointed and felt embarrassed to have selected this restaurant for my friends and family. On the plus side, the cupcakes and view are nice and they were able to cater for the vegetarians in my party. The dessert was nicely presented.

Having moved to the area we thought we would check out what looked like the most exciting restaurant for breakfast. Very disappointing, the place is in a great location, nice interior, good menu but far too complex for the staff! 4 of us were greeted/seated and it took 15 minutes for anyone to make eye contact or take an order, that then delays the drinks arriving and food arriving guys, it's not rocket science, We ordered 4 coffees, 2 juices. Another 20 minutes passed. There seems to be no coordination between the waiter writing the order down trying to work out the ridiculously placed till at high level that no one can see what they are doing and the barrister well I use the term loosely he looked like the Manager making the coffee! The guy making the coffee then clears tables and the waiters then start trying to get drinks GET A SYSTEM IN PLACE. There were circa 4 tables full max 20 people and it took 5 staff to make a coffee. We finally get our coffees (in future deliver the menus and take a drink order immediately) most people do not need to look at a drinks menu to know what coffee they drink everyday! We finally ordered food and that arrived in fits and starts which is a real shame because the chef is the the only saving grace for this place. Nice eggs, full English very nice, lovely pastries, granola very nice but change that cheap packet sliced ham you use for eggs Benedict please that is not honey glazed carved ham it's cheap sandwich filler. This place could be sooooooo good but will continue to fail if they don't sort the service out, get rid of stupid complex breakfast cocktails that take ages to make, people want coffee and breakfast and want it fast and hot! I will try again but you guys seriously need to get one of your other Managers to give this place an overhaul. A good woman is needed as there were 5/6 men without a clue on how to deliver service! Here's living in hope I will return but restaurants only get 2 changes in my book, no doubt that's generous looking at your other comments on here! Act fast otherwise I'll give you 6 months until I see hoarding on your windows.

My husband booked this restaurant for a Mother's Day afternoon tea for us and our 3 children. Despite the restaurant being virtually empty, the service was pretty slow and it was hard to catch anyone's attention. Our waiter was friendly enough and we ordered 2 afternoon teas and a cola. Two plates of 4 or 5 very sad looking finger sandwiches arrived. The bread was curled up, stale, dry and hard. They'd obviously been made some time ago. There were a few wilted salad leaves on top. They were inedible and we asked for them to be replaced which they were. The new sandwiches weren't buttered and were incredibly bland. But the bread was at least soft. A plate of cakes then arrived. Some were fresh including a lovely warm scone, but others were stale and dry. By this stage, we didn't have much confidence in the place and just wanted to pay the bill and put it down to experience. The manager was around, but apart from a friendly hello & goodbye, we saw nothing of him. Not only were we not offered anything off our bill, but the 12.5% 'discretionary' service charge was still added. And the waitress who had taken over at this stage was particularly surly which was the icing on our (stale) cake. Not the special occasion we were all looking forward to. Such a shame as some of the reviews on TA are very good.On the plus side, a helicopter landed at the nearby helipad which was fun for the kids to watch. Not even that made the £46 bill palatable though.

Having been a loyal customer of River Quarter Kitchen since it's opening, it is with a heavy heart that I write this review as things seem to have gone downhill significantly in recent weeks. Earlier in the month, my girlfriend and I both had to point out missing items in our vegetarian breakfasts to the waitress, who had also received a similar complaint from another table. Despite this, we returned earlier today, feeling that this must have been an off day. My girlfriend's eggs royale were ok, however the French toast, a dish which we have both ordered countless times was missing the poached pears, the berry compote AND the creme fraiche, so it was minus ALL of the toppings. When this was pointed out to the manager, it took a few minutes for this to be rectified and then i had to ask again for the creme fraiche, by which point my French toast was no longer warm. While all of this was going on, two gentlemen on another table walked out, having been ignored by the staff for several minutes. I have to add that the restaurant was more or less empty at this point. Despite the fact that we must have been to River Quarter Kitchen at least twice a month for breakfast since it opened, that is the last time that either of us will eat there. It's a crying shame as the restaurant is a lovely looking place, conveniently located for us, but given the variety of choice in both Battersea and neighbouring areas, there's no excuse for missing items in dishes or shoddy service!

My husband and I have frequented River Quarter many times over the past few months and have always left feeling satisfied - the food is always excellent, the restaurant is clean and baby-friendly and you can enjoy exceptional views of the river while sipping your coffee. However, the real gem of this place is the staff - they are all very friendly and always go above and beyond. I especially want to highlight how helpful Gregorio and Yan were today when I had a little footwear misadventure - my shoe fell apart right outside River Quarter and these two kind gentleman did everything they could think of to help fix it and in the end one of them even went to the local Homebase to buy a tube of glue. I was even given a cup of coffee on-the-house while I waited for the glue to dry. I think any establishment would be lucky to have staff like this working for them. Thanks again Gregorio and Yan!

First time we went we had a terrible experience. This was months ago and at that time the manageress as was apologised and said she was leaving in disgust at the way it was being ran. So I decided in fairness nit to review it. Many months later we gave it another go, and this was a big mistake, Hardly anyone there, and this includes staff. An hour from arrival to our mains (we had no starters). The chicken seemed OK until I got to the bony part when it was raw blood. I showed the manager who assured me 'all the meat comes in fresh everyday'. No apology. I explained it makes no difference if they had killed the chicken in their back garden 30 minutes ago- if its not cooked fully there is significant risk of campylobacter and as a doctor, I know all about this. Am amazed this place is still open, but I doubt it will see out the end of the year. Another in the long lime of recent disastrous ventures along this part of the river.

We live nearby and eat there occasionally or drop by for a cup of coffee. A really friendly place. As another reviewer said, relaxed and friendly. The food itself is uniformly of a good standard and sometimes is outstanding. What really stands out in my mind is the baked goods which seem to change on a daily basis. The restaurant is located directly on the Thames. The restaurant would be absolutely perfect if had some form of outdoor dining facilities to take full advantage of the Thames view. However, I understand the lease arrangement for the restaurant does not allow this. One thing that could be done to further enhance the atmosphere of the restaurant is to get rid of some dining tables and replace them with a sofa and some easy chairs. This would be much more inviting for anyone who wants to drop by for a cup of coffee or glass of wine. After all it calls itself a ‘kitchen’. Kitchens are almost by definition supposed to be warm, friendly and inviting. Overall, it has the potential to be a really outstanding restaurant.

Open less than a year, River Quarter Kitchen is still finding its feet and searching for its soul, but it has the makings of an excellent Battersea riverside venue. Open from early morning, the atmosphere is relaxed and service always friendly. When the proprietors are around they will take time to greet you, and most times Italian Manager Gregorio will be there to assist. The kitchen is good, and service is as prompt as you wish. We have visited on several occasions, and certainly it is improving, but the word has not really got out yet, so they need to do some more marketing; prices are high enough, so there's room for (eg) some aggressive discount offers. Outdoor tables on the River Walk should be a must for the Summer months ! Apart from all that, this is only semi-Italian cuisine, so maybe a stronger Italian emphasis on the menu would fill an obvious gap in the local market and, at the same time provide a stronger identity for RQK. Certainly worth a visit.

We often stay in Cotton Row, so River Quarter should really be a great place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Not in out experience. We keep trying it out, only to be disappointed time and time again. I think we have to give up now. An early morning coffee was nice but he Danish pastry, that we were assured before we bought was fresh turned out hard and dry. Not the first time we have been disappointed by the stale cakes. No way they were cooked that morning. You would have smelled fresh baking. They had to warm it in a microwave!I once had pancakes that were raw in the middle and also tasted like packet mix. Being a fairly good cook, I feel like showing them how to make scones that taste fresh. A trip to Northcote road cafes would do the chef some good to know what fresh really tastes like.It is so sad as this place is beautiful inside and should be really busy. We would have loved to have an evening meal over Christmas but instead went elsewhere because we don't trust that the food will be good. I would love to run this place for afew months and really get it going well.
