Bel ristorante fronte fiume in una zona pedonale, tavoli esterni, staff gentile ed educato Buoni gli antipasti, i secondi e i dolci, buona anche la Pizza! la pasta purtroppo insipida! Quando ho fatto presente al cameriere che era insipida e che in un ristorante italiano si suppone che non lo sia, mi ha risposto che il sale da problemi e che molto clienti non lo vogliono quindi non lo usano.. per definirsi ristorante italiano si dovrebbe cucinare la pasta salando L acqua come in Italia

Good atmosphere & ambience with attentive service, always accommodating even if sometimes arriving a little late.Reasonably priced quality food together with a good selection of wines particularly by the glass.Will continue to visit as well as recommend to others.

Un gran restaurante. Voy con mi familia bastante a menudo porque la ubicación es fantástica y la comida siempre es increíble. La ternera de limón es para morirse y también lo es el hígado de ternera con el esmalte balsámico. El camarero y los servidores son realmente muy amables y siempre nos dan la bienvenida y bromean con nosotros. Un lugar muy subestimado seguro! DO NOT VISIT IF YOU ARE OF COLOUR! You will not get served. Specific blonde waitress, seated us in the corner outside, refused to serve us, arguing with her colleague that she shouldn’t have to serve us. Disappointing as I have been a regular for many years.

My friend booked a table at this restaurant and since we arrived, it was a struggle. It took over 30 minutes to get our drinks and for someone to take our food order. Then again it took a long time for the food to arrive. Every time some food or drink came out, it was delivered to the wrong tables and pretty much every single guest complaint about the bad service. Some people asked for their order to be taken and they were told by the waiter that he didn’t take good orders, just drinks so they stood up and left. When our waiter came to the table, it started slagging off Italians (he was Portuguese). Considering the restaurant is Italian, it’s a bit odd. And considering I’m also Italian, I suggested that it was quite rude. Apparently, it was my fault that I couldn’t take the joke! Food was ok, nothing special so considering their customer service, I doubt they will have many people returning.

Very disappointed of the service. I live locally and came for second time. We waited the drinks more the 20 min. And glass of wine came with (I think it was a fly). When I spoke with the manager (his name is Ricardo) he offer me the other glass of wine for free. But when I asked the bill, the price was with the second glass. And the waiter that they never ofer free drinks even the customer had a bad service. I paid and later spoke with Ricardo and I was very disappointed and upset that Ricardo said that he never offer me a free glass of wine. The point not about paid for my food and drinks, the point about if the manager promise the customer something they have do it. The food was amazing but the service very bad. I don’t think I wanna come back.

I do like Marco Polo restaurant at Riverside Quarters. The ambiance is great, the food is excellent and the view of the Thames is good - if you get to sit outside. The service is always good and the food is really tasty. The staff go out of there was to be of service which is always a good sign in a restaurant. I visited the restaurant twice in one month while in the UK and enjoyed both times. Recommended.

Delicious food, wine and peaceful riverside views. Service was very slow to start with and later had to spend time attracting waiters’ attention. However, it was a very busy hot Summer evening. If service had been better definitely 5 stars.

We got off the river ferry hungry and feeling hungry ended up in the Marco Polo which was a mistake as the food was poor(think cheap supermarket own brand pasta) and glass of house white that was a throwback to the yellow sulphurous whites of the 1970's . The service was sweetbeith the waiters bring oblivious to the quality of the food on offer.

Have been going here for years and often take friends. I always warn them....”food is reasonable, but service usually poor/crap, but setting is fantastic, which tends to make up for it if you go expecting this” I’ve witnessed a few people getting up and leaving before getting anything as they can’t get service for a long time when they sit down. Service always seems chaotic with questions over whether you did actually order what you are still waiting for. Waiters I think are mainly Eastern European with quite abrupt manner which verges on offensive sometimes. Chips seem soggy (suspect oven chips?) Usually always space, which there shouldn’t be if everything was good as setting is wonderful. Will keep going but only if weather is good, otherwise sitting inside would not warrant putting up with all the issues.

We took a customer based in Putney here for lunch. Food was freshly cooked and the portions were a good size. I would imagine the evening atmosphere would be great, lunch was a little quiet. Lovely location, great views.

We visited Marco Polo this evening for our daughter's birthday. What a fabulous experience! Impeccable service - friendly and attentive, lovely food - delicious, and a great ambience - busy but also quiet enough to enjoy a chat! Thank you to all your staff for such a nice evening.

We came across this restaurant as we had a meeting in the area at around 1500 . What a Jem and the restaurant manager Paulo a amazing guy and he really looked after us , we were so impressed after our meeting we went back for dinner and had a amazing food and Wine by the bottle Red. Thank you all so much .

A real Jem of a restaurant hidden amongst the residential blocks and near the river walk. Modern design, great menu and the food has tremendous flavour. This was an outstanding experience.

I went to this restaurant with my girlfriend for valentines day. It was really nicely decorated inside and the food was sublime. Antipasti to start and a pizza for main. The service was good and I'd definitely return.

The Marco Polo took a late booking from us and saved our Christmas celebrations. We booked a table for 5 and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The setting was lovely and although the restaurant was busy we had plenty of space to eat comfortably. The waiters did a great job and were calm and attentive. We all enjoyed our traditional turkey dinner and huge Christmas pudding! Would definitely go there again and try an Italian meal.

Wonderful food great service and good choice of menu. The whole experience was very enjoyable and relaxing. The bill was reasonable at today’s prices. We particularly enjoyed the more unusual choice of pasta dishes. Will definitely call again.

I really like this place, don’t worry if it’s not on the menu, I’ve asked for items from time to time - get the reply “leave it with me, it should be fine” and they make it happen. Very friendly staff who look to help you out. They do great take away pizza’s too.

Was excited to try this restaurant for the first time. Came today around 4pm with my family of 5. Asked for a table and an Overweight balding waiter was so rude to us. He rolled his eyes and said no no. There were several empty tables so I pointed to one and said what about this one? He said all reserved. I asked how long the wait would be. He said at least an hour and said move move and pushed past us. We walked out to leave and another waiter asked us inside or outside? So clearly they had tables available. We left to go eat elsewhere. Very disappointed

Each time I am in London I try and go to this great restaurant. Not only is the food very good but the venue is excellent - almost right on the Thames at Riverside Quarter in Wandsworth. I have had fillet steaks, chicken and my fellow diners swear by the fish dishes. The Moretti beer is awesome and all in all, I recommend this establishment.

Had lunch today in this large riverside Italian, we sat inside as it was a bit cool to sit on the outside terrace. There was 5 of us and we all ordered something different. The only problem was when they brought out the meals. With mine they said they didn’t have the Veal in lemon and butter sauce so did I want the breaded Veal. I opted for the beef medalians in mushroom sauce. It took about 5 minutes or so to arrive by which time some of my party had almost finished there’s, so I ate alone. The others in my party all commented on how nice their meals were, which ranged from pasta, pizza to chicken dishes. Once mine arrive I did ask if it had been microwaved as it was quick and the plate was too hot to handle, which got a smile from the waiter, but actually was really nice, tender and tasty.

I have visited this restaurant before and enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service. Hence I decided to book it to celebrate my Mother's 60th birthday. Unfortunately it was one big disappointment, and could not have been further from my previous experiences. The waiter who showed us to our table was so impolite and hostile towards me - it appeared to me and to the rest of our party that he had taken some sort of immediate dislike to me, for no reason. He rolled his eyes repeatedly and seemed to go out of his way to make us uncomfortable. He also showed us to a table laid for 4, even though we had booked for 5 and a highchair - and when we asked for an additional seat and a highchair, it seemed as though this was a great annoyance to him. He came over to take our order and then just disappeared - seemingly because my very young daughter dared to make a noise. He told me we could not move tables (we requested this not to be difficult, but to get out of the very hot direct sunlight). He said in 15 mins the sun would move and we would all be in the shade - the opposite was true and we were all soon sitting in the baking July sun - including my toddler daughter. He also told me we could not sit inside, as it was closed - even though we could see people eating inside. Aside from our grievances with this particular waiter, there were other issues too - in my previous experiences at this restaurant, the staff have made a real fuss for special occasions - I was expecting this sort of treatment as we had made a point of letting them know it was for a 60th birthday - but there was nothing. A big, big disappointment and a bewildering experience with a very rude and hostile waiter.

Went for lunch, we sat out on the terrace. Once the waiter showed us to the table we had been waiting for around 20mins before any service. Resulted us leaving.

This is our local restaurant and we have been regularly for the past 5 years at least once a week and have eaten there through all seasons and weather. The food has always been fantastic, we take so many family & friends there and we know we will have a great meal. The menu offers something for everyone and everyone we take there wants to come back again.

Lovely terrace for a summer night. The food is quite good (a bit salty though), there’s a wide variety of dishes. The place was packed, so the waiters were kind of overwhelmed, but really kind anyways. Prices ok.

No hay organización de los camareros, un montón de confusión de muchos miembros del personal que sirve una mesa. En nuestra visita más reciente la mayoría de los empleados (aparte de una mujer) era muy grosero, cuando pedimos nuestras bebidas, el camarero nos miraba como si fuéramos un enorme inconveniente y cómo nos atrevemos a pedir. A continuación, el servicio era lento y en revuelta y cada vez los camareros nos dirigió como si fuéramos irritante y distante. Espero de verdad hay una revisión de la actitud de servicio y organización, es una pena para bajar la comida estupenda.

Fuimos a este restaurante en una tarde muy soleada de domingo con la idea de tener una bebida antes de cenar temprano seguido de la cena. Después de haber estado en este lugar en un par de ocasiones anteriores, hubiera sido una noche agradable. Sin embargo, después de ser mostradas a nuestra mesa fuera muy cambiaron rápidamente. Fue casi 20 minutos antes de poder significar "camarero". Probamos. Cuando él llegó a nuestra mesa dije educadamente podría tener algunos tragos. Dijo que conseguiré mi pluma o algo asi y desapareció. Nunca para ser visto de nuevo. Esto no fue una orden de envío. Dos personas no una carga autobús - ¿por qué necesitas escribir. Salimos y hablamos con un miembro del personal, quien dijo que "voy a solucionar". Demasiado tarde en una tarde encantadora tarde. No fue hasta que gente lo que probablemente explica todo. Es una pena realmente, ya que no sirven comida medio decente en una ubicación encantadora.

Bonito restaurante con terraza al aire libre con vista al río. Este es un lugar ideal para una comida, estar fuera en la noche de verano. Bien, lo que debería ser, pero eran tan desorganizado que comer se convirtió en una prueba de resistencia. La comida era buena, pero el servicio era pésima. La cocina no podía hacer frente, y por todas partes había mesas de clientes conseguir inquieto porque había sido esperando mas de 30 minutos para un arranque en frío. Nos dimos cuenta de la gente que viene después de nosotros que servían antes de nosotros. Nuestro camarero parece haber tenido ninguna formación. No sé cómo hablar con clientes y no tenía ni idea sobre sirve vino. No había señal de nadie a cargo del restaurante. Muchos usuarios se han quejado de la mala atención y este lugar no sobrevive a menos que la gerencia de sus juegos.

The service here is beyond abysmal. We had to flag down waiters for EVERY SINGLE THING. They literally taunted us about their bad service and then charged us for service TWICE! The staff were 100% useless to a man.

Have been twice in the last month. First experience was outstanding, but we got there at 6.30 so it was quiet and the service was as brilliant as the food. Second experience we were much later, post 8.30 although couldnt fault the food, service was frustrating, not sure how many times waiters walked passed and didnt see we wanted attention, definitely a refined art, but very annoying. Would go there again, but only at early doors, food and ambience are fantastic

La comida estaba bien, pero me senté afuera por un par de horas de trabajo (mañana y tarde) no tengo a nadie que me venga a servir una vez. Fui dentro en cuatro ocasiones para pedir cosas diferentes durante la 2 horas, y una de estas veces se olvidó totalmente de llevar conmigo mi pedido, así que tuve que volver 20 minutos más tarde y preguntar de nuevo. Servicio totalmente inaceptable en mi opinión. La comida estaba bien, tenía un sandwich de pastelería, etc. pero, sinceramente no recuerdo la última vez que tuvimos un servicio tan malo! El miembro del personal fue agradable cuando al final me sirve. . . .

As other reviewers have said, the problem with this restaurant is the service.

Beautiful view of the river and classic Italian cuisine - would be perfect if they would just sort out their service! Don’t go if you are in a rush as they are incredibly slow. As other reviews have mentioned they have plenty of staff but nobody seems to do anything - on last visit the bartender was sat on a bucket behind the bar playing on her phone in full view of the manager!

Had a lovely meal here on a beautiful sunny evening. Lovely food and great ambience, but the service was slow - although there seemed to be plenty of staff around.

La comida es muy buena y no tuvimos entrantes risotto de mariscos deliciosos y encantador, pero nunca he estado en un restaurante con un servicio tan lento. Tres horas después de tomar nuestros asientos que teníamos que buscar a alguien para pedir el menú budines. También intentaron cobrarnos dos veces para las botellas de vino (que hubiera pagado por adelantado) que necesitan una cuenta nueva y más larga espera. Cuatro horas después de llegar finalmente a la izquierda.

I have had the hands down worst experience in a restaurant of my life this afternoon.

We went in Marco Polo with a couple of friends, we did a bottle Amarone, the waiter explain the wine, and then he explained a Brunello Di Montalcino , everything was perfect, wine food service and atmosphere, we will back again.

I have just moved to this area, so have tried this place twice, once for breakfast and tonight for a simple pizza and wine. Can't fault the place, the wine is excellent (I had the montepulciano di abrezzo but the glass, which is an exceptional wine to have by the glass) but they had a good selection of wines and Italian beers

I always get great service at the Marco Polo and matched with their classic Italian dishes and location, it is a great place to have a leisurely meal especially during summer when you can sit out on the terrace looking out to the Thames. The food isn’t haute cuisine but is is good, maybe even homely. My favourite is the linguine vongole which comes with a lmust mop up with bread” sauce.

We arrived by Thames Clipper boat from Charring Cross on one of the coldest nights of the year, probably best done in the summer, when one can step right off the boat and eat and drink outside on the extensive terrace, overlooking the river. Our greeting inside the restaurant was warm and friendly. Service was attentive and prompt, helped by the fact that there were not very many other customers though it did fill up later.

My husband and I love this restaurant, especially in the warm weather. It is situated in a no-car zone near Wandsworth Park. Being able to enjoy the river views with no traffic around is quite a luxury in central London. The portions are generous and the wine is good - what else do you need to relax on a Saturday afternoon?

We just arrived from a tough eleven days in Ireland fighting winds of gale force, rain intermittent and fabulous golf on Portmarnock, Ballybunion, Tralee, Waterville and Old Head. Looking for a special place to wind down, trip advisor had Marco Polo on the Thames River...

Visited with our son and partner. Very enjoyable. Good food in a pleasant setting. Recommended if you are in the Wandsworth area of London

Fui allí con mi esposa y 2 años de edad. Yo tenía un risotto de marisco, el risotto estaba bajo cocinada, el pescado congelado y claramente de todo el plato era totalmente insípido. El camarero solo se encogió y quitaron de la cuenta. Supongo que el chef es feliz sirviendo que, no conozco mucha gente que iría a comer. Su risotto posiblemente el peor que he visto. pizza niños fue como esperábamos.

Nos quedamos muy contentos con el servicio y la variedad de comida en el restaurante en el río en Putney. Un ambiente agradable que nos hizo disfrutar de una noche especial con viejos amigos.

Delicious pasta and Rose wine. Scenic location by the river. Perfect Summer setting. Staff very erratic. Had to ask for tap water 3 times. They did not ask if we wanted dessert. Not attentive service though waiters pleasant.Such a shame as a great setting.Everything going for it except the service.

Slow service, overpriced food and wine, dull salad: it took 20 minutes to throw together some lettuce leaves, some salmon and pomegranate seeds. Nice view but wouldn't ever go there again.

Well, where do I start. Arriving and them saying "are you going to be quick" wasn't a great start. No we didn't book but you don't have to treat us like rubbish. We waited for a while to work out what to do and eventually found a table on the other side of the restaurant not booked. They hadn't even tried to help.The starters were nothing special, ok, my pasta quite nice. But oh my the service!! There was no effort to see if we would like another drink. We made a joke about it at one stage with the waiter saying he had100 people to serve; absolute rubbish! They showed no interest in monitoring tables in our area. They didn't even notice I didn't get my main and when it came the waitress just plonked it down; didn't say anything and continued to deliver another meal to another table . I even had to then hassle for parmesan and it took ages for dessert to be offered. There was basically no service at all. They then had the nerve to charge £8.95 for a basic kids butter pasta and didn't even bother to tell the mum it came with a drink. So over priced. They made us feel unwanted the whole time then had the nerve to charge us almost £30 for service; luckily a strong Australian in our party had the guts to not pay it. You would have to say adult mains were nice but we were completely ripped off on the kids, they showed no real interest in us and the service was terrible!!!

-We had a Birthday party (for my grandson) at this restaurant. There were about 30 persons in all for the party.-The location was good and the deck was a nice place for this small party.-We had fish fingers, Squids, Fries for starters and special order for kids. Of course various drinks and Beer were served during the party.-The various Pizzas we had and the Pasta were nice .-The service was good.-It was a Sunday afternoon and the restaurant was quite busy. -Parking was possible near the Wondsworth Park for our guests. -Luckily London weather co-operated for the party as there was no rain and good sun shine.-Over-all a nice restaurant and food was good.

Lovely location and very nice food, although a bit pricey. However I have never seen service as bad as this - it almost feels like the staff are deliberately trying to give the worst service possible!!It takes at least 10min each time you want to grab a member of staff's attention and even then they acknowledge you but disappear off and don't come back for a few minutes. They also rarely smiled and came across as rude. I saw at least 2 other people standing up speaking to the waiter saying "We are over at that table over there and would like to place our order please?". We only had one drink for the 2-3 hours we were there and were never offered a second one!How on earth do they manage to get it so bad???

Arrived to be shown to our table which we wished to change of which the staff were most attentive. Meal was excellent and we were not rushed off the table. Most enjoyable time spend on a wonderful location.

The food in this Italian restaurant was lovely, but they let themselves down with the service. They seem to have enough staff, but it was not too busy but it was very slow., with all the courses, which is a shame

My partner and I came to visit Marco Polo for the second time to enjoy a nice meal. Everything went perfect with the starters and then we found out a hair on the plate under the food of one of our mains. The staff replaced the food and then when we finished our mains we asked for the bill. After waiting 15 minutes for the bill we asked another waitress (very nice and pleasent) if the bill was coming. We waited 10 more minutes and I had to asked again, this time to the manager, for the bill. The bill came and we waited again 10 more minutes to pay when we decided to go straight to the bar to pay. the service was added to the bill and we asked it to be removed. They did not even asked why. I would have expected at least the service and the plate where we found a hair to be removed off the bill. Not going back again.

When we entered the restaurant, we were ignored by several members of staff. After 5 minutes of this, we asked whether we could sit outside. They said no, even though there were lots of free tables. Eventually we were seated at a table inside. We sat there for 10 minutes and no one offered us any drinks or even a menu; so we got up and left. Terrible experience, would not recommend.

Oh my god what a view. The sun was shining and great location right on the Thames. I felt like I was on holiday even although this is a few minutes walk from my house. Food was great. Felt very Italian. Service really let this place down. One of the waitresses didn't speak any English at all and our food arrived before our drinks.... i had to gently nudge the waiters for drinks..... I didn't even get offered a discount either which left me with a bit of a broken heart. I probably would come again but I would be up front that I want my drinks first! Sort it out Marco!

We had a table booked well in advance for 8pm requesting an outdoor table. On arrival just after 8 the place looked packed and no sign of a spare table on the terrace. We waited at the 'wait to be seated' sign and dozens of staff passed us without acknowledging us. After 5 minutes I asked a staff member if we could sit down and they said they would get someone... another 5 minutes and by now another 2couple had arrived and were patiently waiting.. after 15 minutes we called another nearby restaurant and booked a table. We did eat here 3 years ago as it has a lovely outdoor terrace and had an indifferent evening and slow service then. It seems if the sun comes out and they are busy they cannot cope! We won't be going back... Try L'affaire around the corner which is fantastic and great service!

Came here for a family birthday and had a really fun evening. Service was good throughout even though there were 11 of us to take care of. The food was really good with loads of choice on the menu. I had the liver which was just perfectly cooked. My son's steak came over medium rare, but was still a tasty dish. This is a really buzzing place and great for a large party. There is a massive seating area overlooking the river and I plan to return when the weather picks up.

We went here as a family party for lunch on Mothers' Day. The food was very good (for example, tuna, and calves' liver cooked just right) and reasonable wine. The service however was slow and lackadaisical, even though the restaurant was not crowded.

I visited this restaurant as part of a small wedding party. We arrived early and received the red carpet welcome. Our hosts got the measure of what we required immediately. They ensured there was champagne, that we had enough time to settle in and yet were right there when we were ready to order. The food and the service at this restaurant were superb from beginning to end. Absolutely nothing to fault. It was difficult to leave especially when treated with complimentary sambucca and limoncello!

There is a distinct shortage of good Restaurants in the Putney area and it was interesting to join friends for dinner this evening at the Marco Polo On The River which is actually in nearby Wandsworth.It's our friend's 'local' Italian Restaurant which may have helped explain the warm welcome we received although, that said, the restaurant - which has an extensive outside area (clearly a popular spot in Summer) - was very busy for a mid-week evening that left the clear impression that this is many people's favourite Italian Restauran!This view was reinforced by the excellent service and quality food - thoroughly enjoyed by all members of our group.Our friends will be having their family Xmas Lunch at the Marco Polo and - on this evening's experience - my wife and myself would be more than happy to pay a return visit.

Great location but just about average Italian food served by untrained staff. Food and wine overpriced

Sat for ages waiting to be served, two waiters were requested for help but still no service... After waiting 30 min without drinks we just left. This was after 10 min queuing for a table. Shocking service, very rude.

We waited 10 minutes to be seated, where after we waited 30 minutes to not even have a waiter/ress come around to ask about drinks. Asked staff twice to help and no one cared. At another table, the dog got water before we even were offereded !!! Eventually left due to no service what-so-ever. Upon complaining to management they could not seem to care less. Would not be able to recommend this place to anyone !!!!

Enjoyed a lovely birthday lunch on a warm summer's day by the river. Food was good and service attentive. Most importantly, it works if you are in a wheelchair as good ramp up to eating area, lots of space and easily accessible disabled loo. We will definitely visit again.

The service is surly and incredibly slow. The food is listed on the menu as all the standard Italian favourites, but I'm Italian and the food at Marco Polo just ain't. Overall a pretty grim experience. What a waste of a great setting.

I made a reservation for four people,on arrival I had to wait 20 min. before some body came, I asked for a table inside, I was refused as no body was sitting inside, it was very windy.After having the starters which took nearly an hour, I asked again to be seated inside as there were people sitting on two tables inside,the waiter arrogantly refused, telling me that I specifically requested to sit outside(some thing I never did)Half an hour later he came back to offer me a table inside, there were 3 empty tables unreserved. As a result I ended with acute sinusitis next day. I will never go back again.They do not deserve more than one star.

The food at Marco Polo is great. When you get what you order. If you actually get it at all.We have been to Marco Polo a few times as we live in the neighbourhood. Both for drinks and for dinner and unfortunately the service is not up to scratch.Without talking about previous times when they have forgotten to take our order at all I will speak only to our dinner yesterday.It is a shame that a place with such great food lack so much in service. Not once did anyone come over to check that everything was ok, if we wanted anything else or if they could offer us any more drinks. I would not like to blame it on a busy Monday night, which is was as we have been the only guests before and had the same experience. For a place where a main can push the £20 mark you would expect a lot more in terms of service.When arriving you are asked to wait to be seated. This took 10 minutes with several of the staff walking right past us without even acknowledging us.We were seated at roughly the same time as the table next to us of 4 people and although they had enough we sat and waited to see how this would play out.20 minutes after being seated we had been given menus but no one had come to take our order or offered us any drinks.We called the attention of the waitress to ask if we could order and got a few drinks and fearing that dinner might still be far off we ordered a bread basket and some balsamic to tidy us over. Table next to us had not gotten any attention.Out bread arrived fairly quickly but had taken the form of olives and a slice of yellow peppers with two slices of dry day old bread next to it. We had 30 minutes to enjoy our two slices of bread and finish our drinks before the waitress came over and asked “have you finished?”. The first thing that popped in my head was “finished? We haven’t even gotten any food yet” which I unfortunately said. The reply to which was that they could not order our food until we had finished our “starter”. Table next to us had now had enough. After one guest had been standing up at the table to try and flag down some service a second guest now made his way inside to ask where in the world their food was.Expecting another long wait as our food hadn’t been put through to the kitchen yet my partner went home to find us some jumpers….we were in for a long evening. We are already over an hour in without seeing the hint of anything hot to eat.It took them almost 30 minutes to get the food out to us. One thing I have to say is that Marco Polo always deliver in the food department. I loved my salmon and my partner enjoyed his pizza even though it wasn’t the one he had ordered.Once we had eaten we barely had time to put down our cutlery before our waitress showed up to take our plate and offer us coffee, showing up with the card machine in a blink of an eye after our no to dessert. The speedy service came a little too late and we made a quick get away and had our dessert and coffee at home. No news as to what happened to the table next to us as they were just starting to enjoy their mains when we left.

We visited here on a warm summer evening the view and atmosphere is lovely. The food was good and quite reasonably priced. The service could have been a bit quicker.

stumbled on this place by chance as was staying locally for work and fancied Italian, this place came up on my google maps and very chuffed we were with the suggestion. We booked though as we turned up at around 6pm (friday eve) we need not have bothered as the place has a huge outside as well as plenty of tables inside and I don't think we would have had issue getting one. Attentive friendly service with a menu that covers every Italian great dish, risotto, fish, meat platters, pizza, pasta and several great meat dishes. We opted for a shared anti pasti starter (£10) and then salad (£12) and schnitzel (£15) mains washed down with a bottle of delicious rose (£20). Each dish was wonderful and the wine lovely. We live well over East London but would easily make the effort to come back here as the ambience, service, food and value is tip top. It's hard to see how it gets passing trade as it sits in the middle of all the big flat developments and we presume this is it's normal trade but you're missing out if you don't adventure back off the main road. the only thing I'd add is maybe some background music, that would be nice to hear.

We visited on a hot weekday evening and found we had been given the table requested, having eaten here before. The welcome was typically Italian and exuberant, the service was prompt and very friendly, we were served by a lovely waiter who was maybe an owner as he put in a lot of effort. The starters were excellent, the calf's liver was superb, cooked to perfection, often it can arrive rubbery but this just melted. The accompaniments were good and varied, it was good value and a most enjoyable evening in a quiet part of Putney with a lovely walk back along the River to finish a great evening. We are locals so shall certainly be back.

I go here quite regularly for both lunch and dinner, especially during summer when you can sit outside on their gorgeous terrace.I have had a vast majority of their dishes, starters such as: calamari, caprese, bruschetta and melon & parma ham - and mains such as risottos, pasta and even the steak - which for an italian restaurant was surprisingly decent!Service has always been top and wine selection excellent!I can't wait to go back! :)

Generally good and nice food but when you forget a tables mains for an hour and a half I would expect some form of of acknowledgment - either in a discount or indeed getting the order right when it is pointed out that food has not come!.......

This was an impromptu lunch with friends who live in Putney and we've been past here a few times without being tempted to try it.Whilst close to River (Thames!) it's not slap bang by the River but a spit and kick as they say.You can get to it through the Park which is a nice experience and engage with people on your way through which we did.The Restaurant, which is dog friendly, has Al Fresco dining and we found the staff very friendly.We skipped starters and all had Pasta dishes for Entrées which were excellent.Freshly cooked with vegetables that were al dente and seafood which you felt were specially flown in from the Mediterranean!We all decided to have Sweets and the stand out one was the Tiramisu which was awesome but so were the others.The Wine was OK but maybe we should have splashed the cash for a more expensive bottle!!Not meant to be damn it by faint praise but this was much better than we expected and would definitely go again.

Dropped in unannounced after Wimbledon tennis . . .Warm Italian welcome anyway - and shown to a lovely tableThe menu was extensive. We finally chose medallions of beef and veal in a lemon sauce. Both utterly delicious!! We had decided to share our mains! - so I had to hand over my veal for beef!?! Relief - it was worth the swap. . . both were SO tastyA bottle of house red and a shared cheese cake for dessert made a perfect meal to end a perfect dayWe had dinner here last year after tennis, which was memorable, and feared a year on things might have changed . . .No - all good and definitely recommended

The restaurant is opposite the Thames Clipper stopping point at Riverside Quarter, Wandsworth and overlooking the Thames - an excellent, quiet location. Menu choice, service and food is good. Can be busy in the summer which is a positive sign.

Like this place. Great location, staff are super friendly. Food good and atmosphere relaxed. Wide ranging menu, most of which I've had over the years and it all works. Sensibly priced wines..eat outside in the summer, there are few better locations.

Yes, this restaurant serves pizza's and good ones, but that is not why you come here.Think crab meat ravioli with lobster bisque sauce, rich and warming, try large scampi served in a Provencal sauce served over a bed of parmesan risotto, yum,or butternut pumpkin risotto, full of flavour, or for a twist Salmon Orientale, an Italian's take on oriental flavours.This riverside restaurant is a mix of Italian, with a twist of the Med and just a touch of asian on the side. I have seen negative reviews of their pizzas, not with ours try the Quadrio with spicy sausage.This place is in the suburbs, near Wandsworth, easily accessed by ferry from the heart of London.Service is efficient, friendly, you are welcome, your glass is always full, but waiters are never obvious unless you need something, the mark of a good restaurantA full range of wines, predominantly France and Italy but also others, plus your usual cocktails and spirits and the obligatory Limoncello, chilled of course.My wife, daughter and I fell across this restaurant by chance and returned for seconds. The first outdoors the second visit inside due to weather, good service both times.You could do a lot worse in London.Cost & value. Let's start by saying food and wine in London is expensive, and if you take pub grub as the benchmark with wines and beers you can easily pay 60 pounds plus for starchy fish and chips, wine by the glass and beers.Our first night, 2 bottles of wine (good quality), one aperitif, three main courses (meal sizes are generous) 110 pounds. The second night one shared appetizer, three main courses, two bottles of wine plus one glass extra, 129 pounds.For London, the quality of the food and wines, service and location, pretty fair value in my book.Would I go back, ...definitely. Would I recommend it? Definitely yes.

After Amazing Lunch at Bellissimo restaurant in Twickenham decided to take my family for nice meal smw by the river not to far from Richmond . Than found Marco Polo Italian restaurant with mix culture of hard working Eastern Europe guys. Food was great tasty ,nice well presented also desserts Superb.Nice cold draft beer :) Service was perfect ,to compare with how busy it was .lovely Service by Manager Afrim and the team . Looked well after my daughter and very friendly with all family's . We will be definitely returning again soon.

This is one of the best locations on the Thames. Marco Polo has a huge terrace overlooking the river and the tree-lined park of the Hurlingham Club on the opposite bank. The restaurant does not pretend to be "fine dining" - but it's a really good quality, affordable neighbourhood Italian restaurant with great facilities, excellent food and extremely friendly and efficient staff. On a sunny day, it's hard to beat, sitting on the terrace in the relaxed, pretty surroundings. Any other time, the interior is a nice place to be or you can take away food if you wish. My wife and I eat here or order takeaways most weeks and have always really enjoyed the food and found the staff to be fantastic. Marco Polo deserves recognition for consistent high standards over many years.

Classic Italian food. Lovely position near the river and children can play on the grass in front of the restaurant in full view of their parents. Strawberry mojito good. Service can be sketchy but always a nice place to have lunch on a sunny day and great if warm

I went here with my sister on a Sunday evening .we hadn't booked but we were seated immediately served quickly and the staff were very attentive .The restaurant is very glistening and it has a rather upmarket vibe .Just beside the river Thames The food was lovely I just wanted something light not a main meal ,it has an extensive menu alot of Italian dishes .We had a great time and there were small children there in the evening as well .Not a problem .There's a huge outdoor veranda overlooking the river .I would definitely go back .

This is our neighbourhood Italian and did not disappoint on this occasion also. The food is authentic Italian fare, good ingredients prepared in an uncomplicated fashion. The friendly staff are good with the kids, and there is a little patch of green outside for the kids to charge about in.

Great restaurant in a great location. Would be ideal to visit when the sun's out! No problems with our food, the staff were very friendly and helpful.

I cannot praise the staff of this restaurant highly enough! What a brilliant evening:Having visited this restaurant a couple of times for lunch and knowing my husband loved their pizzas and riverside location, I decided to book Marco Polo for a surprise birthday dinner/party so he could try the rest of the menu and boy, I'm SO glad I did!!I had two meetings with the wonderful amazing manager to discuss menus and pricing and even though I was slightly nervous beforehand, I really needn't have been.The staff were AMAZING! They joined in with helping me put up decorations,played along with the whole surprise notion of the evening when my husband arrived and treated all my 40 guests like they were old friends - and treated me and the birthday boy himself like he was family. I cannot thank them all enough. Nothing was too much trouble, whatever I asked for was accommodated and nothing was a problem at all - they went out of their way to be as helpful as they could and as for the food - it was stunningly presented and above all gorgeous - and LOTS of it!! Plus fantastic food for vegetarians as well!Every single person has commented on how tasty it was and how well they were looked after. I honestly cannot thank them enough as the night was completely PERFECT and their attitude, attention to detail, consideration and genuine kindness was overwhelming - if only all restaurants were like this!!And I've just found out that my friend who left her glasses there went back to get them the next day and they greeted her by name and had carefully taken care of them. That is genuine attention to detail!By the way the swordfish and penne arrabbiata was exquisite!If you want fantastic food, impeccable service in a great location then you must go to Marco Polo!!

Having just moved into the area this is now our local restaurant and how lucky we are.Whether you just want a quick Pizza or Pasta or a full blown three course meal the welcome, service and standard will be the same. Might not have the biggest menu in London but everything is freshly cooked. The Liver and bacon is memorable.It has a beautiful outside terrace which will no doubt be very full in the summer, I hope they can keep their standard up then.Adjoining the restaurant is a coffee shop cum breakfast/lunch stop over which does excellent paninis and rolls to eat in or take out.This is a great place to eat at any time of the day or night.
