It's a wee while since we've been to Riva we weren't disappointed meal was lovely thank you.

Can’t fault it over all. Was really busy & the staff made sure everyone was happy. Food did take its time coming out - however this isn’t a bad thing - shows it was cooked to order. I would have like it a little hotter as in temp wise. But it was really enjoyable - I finished it all.

Hadn’t been to riva in a few years and unfortunately I won’t be back. Pizza was terrible too much cheese on it which made inedible. Sausage pasta was also swimming in grease.

We attended a family lunch today, gluten free menu was fab, food was amazing, staff and service outstanding. Definitely would recommend and I will definitely be back 👏

A nice little Italian restaurant situated in Bothwell Main Street. A good selection of pizza, pasta and other dishes and friendly service. One of the better restaurants in the area.

Great place, not too noisy. The food is all great, but we were particularly impressed by the salads - precisely because they are not normally a talking point.

Just been to one of our favourite restaurants again RIVA! We just love it there we have been going for years and it doesn’t disappoint.The staff are lovely a lovely little place fantastic food always I would recommend this gem of a place to anybody! Especially if you like Italian food! The cheesecakes are to die for ! Can’t wait to go back soon! Keep up the good work, see you soon. :)

Make sure you are hungry before you go . This was a lovely anniversary surprise. There were 7 of us ,food was so delious Staff were so helpful and nothing was a problem. Would highly recommend a visit. We will be back THANK YOU .

Brilliant place always had great food and staff have been lovely. Lunch with 2 toddlers including accidental spills was handled so well and thanks again for all of your help. From a very grateful Mum :) always feel welcome here x

First time at Riva and definitely will not be back! I ordered the polo Milanese and you could not get any further from Italian food than what was served! Tasteless plain chicken, no herbs no flavour nothing! Came with spag bol and this was the same zero taste zero herbs zero flavour! It’s shocking to pay £23 for something I wouldn’t pay £5 for! Service was amazing!

Food was amazing!! We had a booking at 5pm so it was just opening but it didn't take long to fill up as clearly very popular and I can understand why. Prices weren't overly expensive either and staff was very attentive.. Will definitely return.

Really nice place to go for food. The set menu was really good and reasonably priced. The service was quick but not rushed. There's a car park at the rear of the restaurant/bar. Would definitely go back.

The food and the service was great especially if you consider the place was busy and all done very calmly as if we were the only customers that was the icing on the cake pun intended.

Xmas lunch. No crackers or xmas vibe. Hot starter was cold. Main course was nice . Staff were friendly. But £50 svs charge a no-no. Should be left to customer's discretion.

Festive menu was very, very good, but I'm afraid it was horrendous trying to have a conversation. There was a young lady singing/playing the guitar (right beside diners) but the type of songs she was singing was more akin to a concert. It was very busy, and with the music and people talking louder than normal to be heard over the music, it was just a rabble. Kind of spoiled our "Christmas" meal out with our friends.

There was a girl singing last night in what was already a busy and noisy restaurant. You could not even hear the waitress it was so loud. Live music is not necessary. Probably thought it was a good idea at the time but there were 8 of us trying to catch up but conversation was impossible. It was a shame as we have always really enjoyed Riva.

Food as usual was fantastic , staff allways smiling and happy to serve you . Well worth going too .

Starters and mains are usually very good.

We had a lovely evening celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary. The food was very good particularly the carpaccio starter. The wine (merlot) was delicious and the service unobtrusively good. It was just so easy to enjoy the whole experience.

Service was great as I would expect of good Scottish hospitality ! Food was varied . Starters lovely ! Mains : The non Italian meals were tasty the pasta was just ‘okay .’.Arabiatta was inedible As so much chilli although my daughter perseveres to be polite . Ravioli fungi was just okay . Button mushrooms ? Expected porcini or at least chestnut and sage butter was lacking sage flavour so don’t order this if you’ve experienced by real Italian chefs Waitress asked if we enjoyed meals but even when seeing full plate of arabiatta didn’t ask if that was okay just whisked plate away before I could feedback and as it was a special Occasion I didn’t want to make a fuss. Deserts lovely and huge ! Shame About the Italian mains especially when there are so many good Italians in the Glasgow area . Nice enough place for a birthday but wouldn’t rush back .

Starter was delicious, the main for me could have been nicer the chicken let the dish down for me. Service from the staff was spotless couldn't have been more helpful.

Lovely surroundings and staff First time visiting and I will return even though my steak was undercooked. When I review a restaurant it’s not about the mistake made it’s about how they rectify it and in this instance they took it off the bill without any prompting from me. Other than that we all had the 2 course lunch menu x4 , desserts from the main menu and 1 kids meal . Meatballs, mussels, bruschetta all delish. Mains , steak ( not mine) pasta and pollo millinaise all very good . Desserts to die for according to my girls . I will return . Nice lunch

Had dinner with friends. First time there. Both food and service were great. Maybe not the most atmospheric place, but clean and pleasant. Maybe more for family & friends than a couples night out. Would definitely go back.

We booked for a Saturday evening at 8.45pm. That was the only reservation left, so it shows how good the restaurant is. The staff were very friendly on arrival, showing us to our table and taking our drinks order. Plenty of choice on the menu. The menu caters for gluten and dairy intolerances. And a wide range of vegan options too. The children’s menu had excellent choice and was very reasonably priced. The food wan it arrived did not disappoint. Good portion sizes and tasted delicious! We would definitely visit again

went with Friends Mon 3rd July for dinner had a lovely meal apart from my sirloin steak which was stringy and chewy. The wonderful staff didn't charge me for the steak after I complained and couldn't have been more helpful all in all a wonderful dining experience!!

A lovely restaurant with good quality Italian food. Staff warm, welcoming and give good service. Do really good lunches.

Visited for lunch and a few drinks. We ordered off the lunchtime menu. The starters were really good, fresh and tasty. Our pasta main, however, wasn't up to the same standard, being fairly bland and no hint of spice as described - it wasn't horrible in any way, just a bit of a let down given how good the starters were, maybe because it's was part of the lunchtime special the recipe has been cut? Not sure. . Other than that the waiting staff were fantastic, never intrusive but always attentive, I'd definitely return.

As a family we love visiting Riva. The food, the atmosphere, the service all fantastic.

Superb food. I always avoid Italian restaurants because I am a confident cook and pasta is my go to. This is on a different level and very worth a visit. The staff are fantastic and the most courteous I have ever met.

First time diners for lunch. Good few different choices on the menu from usual Italians. Also, appreciated not being rushed out after food and able to stay on to chat over coffee. Not nearby for us but will still look to return.

Visited for dinner t short notice returning for the first time in years. The surroundings, atmosphere and service was excellent for a Wednesday evening. The food was excellent, we will definitely return again.

Great restaurant which seemed popular even on a Sunday evening. Well looked after by the service team and the food was delicious. No halloumi for the halloumi and mozzarella sticks but other than that everything was perfect. I had the arancini to start and we had the Jimmy special for mains, splitting the ravioli salsiccia and carne pizza, all of which was delicious. We finished with tiramisu and sticky toffee pudding, both good portions and tasty. Will definitely return at some point

Had the scallops for starters which were really nice so everything seemed promising until I ordered the lasagne I can honestly say it was the worst I've ever tasted it was swimming in raw tomato passatta with mozzarella on top to compensate will give this so called restaurant a miss next time

Staff accommodated us despite us being a walk in and restaurant almost at capacity. Very good value lunch menu. Mussels for starter and the prawn spaghetti were perfectly cooked, as was my partners polpette starter with lasagna main. Nice wine too. Standout were the staff who served us, professionally and friendly throughout. Definitely worth the trip.

Absolutely fabulous, great food at affordable price that still feels like a special treat

Very friendly staff. Very accommodating. Mum wanted caramelised onions on her pizza. It wasn’t in the menu but they did it for her anyway. Problem was it came out of a jar and was there in such quantity that it drowned the flavour of the pizza. I had sea bass. Very tasty but only one wee tiny slice of fish. It was nice enough but there are better places around do unlikely to be back.

Excellent service the girls couldn’t have been more attentive. Food first class with a particular mention for the fish dishes which were outstanding can’t wait to go back.

These guys always go above and beyond. I very often come with large groups and quite a few children. They take it all in their stride, making you feel welcome. A sense that the staff enjoy being at their work. Definitely recommend 👌

Brilliant eating experience as always just can't fault it.

Having eaten here before we expected good service and great food. We had neither. Anticipating a great meal with friends was truly squashed. The biggest issue was the attitude of the waitress who ‘ served ‘, not! We were well aware we had to vacate our table after 2 hours, as is the restaurant policy advertised on booking online. However after ordering starters and having just been served mains we were 1 hour 5 minutes into our time. We requested another bottle of wine to which we were abruptly told ‘ let me check if you have time’ . Seriously? Would it not be more appropriate for staff to discretely check then come back to guests if they didn’t have time, 5 of us with 1 bottle of wine over55 minutes ……. ? Our relaxing time was over. We then had to ask for desert menu, ask for cutlery,desert was then thrown down on the table to the wrong person with no cutlery as if to say,we don’t care … I have never experienced such awful service and attitude was off the scale We were charged so much for awful service and terrible food without so much as ‘ did you enjoy the meal’ , they knew otherwise. The food was dried up, pasta prawns clearly frozen , steak overcooked, chicken overcooked , all inedible. Staff didn’t care we were returning plates of food hardly touched. Needless to say I will not return. Bothwell has amazing restaurants. Choose another. Riva is not one of them.

Food always excellent. Great value. But most of all waitress and service is just the best. Took my 90 yo mum for lunch. Staff so patient and attentive. She loves it here. Even other customers are always nice and friendly. A great place. Only complaint. Portions are huge…. Is that actually a complaint???

Had a lovely family meal here for my daughters graduation. Service excellent, meal delicious and good value for money. The only criticism was the limited time slot allocation. Felt we were being a bit rushed at the end. But all in all a lovely night got out👍

It was a Monday so it would be quiet. When I entered there wasn't anyone waiting to greet me, I just stood there for a while. However as mentioned it was a Monday so I suppose it was OK. Once I was seen, I have to say the service was great. However I'm not used to going to dinner for 8pm and then been told the kitchen shuts at 8.25pm so we have to order more or less straight away! If you were there for a 3 course meal. How would you choose a meal then have a starter and then be served the main course all within 25 minutes. This doesn't even give you time to settle first and have a drink and look at the menu! They should tell you when making a booking when the kitchen shuts and not just take the reservation. We ordered starters and mains to come out at the same time! Because of only having a few minutes to order the pizza was soggy and tasted like uncooked dough. However the starters were OK. We didn't complain as we received good service from the waiting staff and it wasn't their fault that the kitchen closed so early.

Never had a poor meal here. Excellent service as usual.

Was looking forward to lunch with my friend as hadn't been in a while.Very disappointed with choices on the menu,there was absolutely nothing we really wanted so ended up with pate and a burger&chips,soft drink and it came to £38!! Staff were pleasant but I won't b rushing back in a hurry.Very disappointed ☹️☹️☹️

We visited on Saturday evening along with our daughter and granddaughters who were up visiting from Derby. The food was lovely as always. However, the stand out thing from the visit was the young waiter who looked after us. Our granddaughters are both gluten intolerant...
