Prego in South Lanarkshire

Visited here for the first time last week, The place is very small and we were sat right next to the bar at the front door which wasent ideal with servers bottoms in ur face often as they collect drinks. Pizza was good but pasta was bland which was disappointing. Only once we were served and food on the table did we notice Another family come in and they children were given child menus, I had 2 children with me but was not offered a child’s menu so we had the kids share of the normal menu.

Prego is still as lovely as ever. The staff are still friendly and the food is still delicious and the atmosphere is delightful and relaxed. Definitely a place to recommend!

I had spaghetti bolognese, it was absolutely amazing. We had a conversation while we were waiting for the food. Afterwards we had some outstanding Prego sticks for dessert. The restaurant has a good atmosphere and is a perfect place for birthdays as someone else was presented with a big cake.

Party of 6, pre theatre 18/12/23, all very disappointed. Turkey offering looked like a school dinner with little Turkey, 3 small potatoes, 2 Brussels and 4 small carrot batons all swimming in thin gravy. Pasta dish was bland and tasteless as was the chicken dish. Portion of chips was tiny. Bill came to £176 which would have been reasonable had it not been for the fact we all left hungry. Spoiled a much anticipated family evening, very angry.

Our 1st time visiting and definitely won't be our last. Loved it, great wee place. Can't wait to visit again.

Been here a few times in the past, I do have to admit I prefer the Carluke one (im so sorry!) but this one is also a 5*

Fantastic service. Granddaughter wanted something that was not on evening menu absolutely not a problem.They got it for her Food absolutely delicious and sticky toffee pudding oĥh my food coma .

My wife and I visited for a dinner and it didn’t disappoint The staff were lovely and the food was great I had the fillet steak with a lovely Diane sauce And a Prego sticks for desert which is a favourite

Sadly I’ll not be rushing back. After visiting their restaurant in Carluke we were looking forward to trying this one, but everything from decor, food and service was below par. The food was ok..ish, nothing to write home about and definitely not as nice as the dishes in the Carluke shop. We felt like a burden to the waitress, she seemed more interested in literally anything else that was happening than serving us so after our mains we decided to go elsewhere. We will try again in a little while.

First visit for us on a recommendation from our daughter. Great service, lovely ambience and excellent food. We shared olives, bread with a beautiful arrabiata butter, gamberoni and calamari for starters all of which were delicious. Mains were vitella saltimbocca (veal) and pollo Milanese (breaded chicken with spaghetti). Portions were generous and the food delicious. We’ll certainly be back, grazie.

Service was A1 food absolutely amazing what more can you ask for? If I was to complain about anything it would be I feel tables are to close but you must remember it’s a small place

I was honestly so disappointed, the service from The girls was terrible it was almost like they were too young and always talking to each other instead of service. Food was also disappointing. I got pollo prego which i expected to be pan fried chicken done in the white wine mushroom sauce. But it was oven chicken over done not seasoned and pale white. Mushrooms were rock hard. The prices are far to expensive for this quality of food!

Had lovely hot, fresh food at Prego Lanark. Our party had sea bass x 2 and steak. We all agreed our food was delicious. We finished with Prego sticks with caramel sauce. Maybe - side plates each and more caramel sauce would have made it prefect?

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Absolutely everything that the Carluke one is not. I've had Pollo Milanese from both restaurants and in the Lanark one had a thick juicy bit of chicken whereas Carluke it's thin and poor. The staff are attentive, friendly and the owner is welcoming. Again unlike Carluke. Despite the name and menu, they are 2 completely different restaurants.

Don't often go into Prego as it is quite difficult to get a booking at short notice and am not that organised. Booked this time well in advance and was not disappointed. Food was fabulous, nice sized portions and the staff were absolutely first rate. Prego - recommended 👍🏻

Another fantastic meal at Prego. Since we were at lunchtime, we opted for their 3 course luntime deal. Each course was delicious, the service was first class and overall the experience was superb. Living locally in Lanark, Prego is a go to restaurant.

Best food I have had in Scotland having been here for 3 days. Shout out to Connor mega friendly staff member moved up from Kent. Saw I was alone (here for work) and made a special effort to chat to me and make me feel welcome

French restuarant. Visit fairly regularly, never dissapointed. Almost always fully booked & have mostly to reserve seating 2 weeks in advance. Nice ambience, food excellent, staff efficient & friendly. Good menu & usually have an additional special at the weekend. Not keen on set lunch menu.

Stood the test of time and remains great value!

Went with my mum for dinner Saturday 16th April. Ordered Pollo Prego, expected it to be cooked, arrived raw as picture. Spoke to owner who told me it was a vein, nothing wrong. I refused to eat it, he took plate away, charged full bill....

A very friendly local eatery. Good service and excellent Margaritas! Visited twice and I'd say the risotto is as good as I've had anywhere - the mushroom risotto was deeply flavoured. Had steak for my main both times (filet and ribeye): good quality meat, well seasoned and accurately cooked, served with well executed standard sides. The by the glass Montepulciano d'Abruzzo was really good at the price and went well with our steaks. My only caveats are that the house (by the glass) Pinot Grigio isn't up to much, wet with little discernable flavour, and our Tiramisu was pleasant, well presented but a bit lacklustre (more booze needed here!) Overall, well worth a visit and I'll go back when I'm in Lanark again.

Absolutely outstanding food again and went for the steak with Diane sauce My wife had the sea bass which she said was beautiful The service was exceptional as always

It was absolutely fantastic, service excellent as per usual. All our choices were brill and great value. The only gripe is that it was that we all felt cold and would have stayed a bit longer if it was cosy.

Lovely food and good service. Generous portions, perfectly cooked steak and chicken, nice selection of fresh veg and all hot and freshly cooked. We would have had puddings but we were too full from the feast we had already eaten!

Ordered Food last night for 6pm collection, order was ready and roasting hot at 6pm. Everyone enjoyed the food 100%. Best chips in Lanark too. Pizza, super tasty and pasta dishes all amazingly tasty. Thank you for everything and keeping up the quality during these very difficult times.

Disappointed!!!Takeaway booked during lockdown.got home to find orders wrong deserts were clearly microwave deserts. For the bill it wasn't worth it. I know they're capable of better but sadly not good enough.

As a local this is definitely my Go To restaurant, with a little bit of a buzz.The staff headed up by the proprietor, Michael are friendly and welcoming. A mid priced restaurant with a varied selection of food and wine, i would recommend the steak (also always some good specials available)and Primitivo red wine.The lunch and early evening menus are very reasonable.

I went for a meal on a Sunday night and it was dreadful! The Pizza was not cooked and you partners meal was average at best.

My wife and I had lunch in Prego Lanark. There is a Prego in Carluke but I understand that there is no business connection, perhaps a franchise operation? Anyroads the food is excellent. the ambiance typically Italian and good value/

Great place and really friendly staff. We were there for my mums 70th and the girls ( sorry I forgot ur names) helped set up a couple of surprises for my mum and made her night in the process. Great service and always attentive throughout our meal, which everyone enjoyed .Thanks Prego.

‘Stopped in for a late dinner without a reservation, and were seated immediately. ALL menu items looked delicious but settled on Tortellini. Very buttery/creamy! Wait staff energetic and friendly, with many thank-you’d exchanged. If I lived here I would fast become a familiar face.

Food was great but the service was poor. Normally there is 1 man who serves and he is great however this time was 2 woman and we had to ask for our order to be taken, for high chairs for the kids, kids menus etc. Food was amazing and lots of gluten free options.
