We love this Italian in Hamilton, can't complain about any dishes we have tried.

Come here regularly as the food and service are second to none. Quality ingredients full of flavour, highly recommend.

Veal Milanese was exceptional! Great little Italian for a lunch date.

I would avoid this restaurant at all cost. Garlic bread wasn’t toasted on both sides, the bread was a poor texture and very cheap quality! Bruschetta was again total lack of enthusiasm from the kitchen, a couple of cheap ill tasted tomato’s halved into two, some cheap rubber cheese half grilled and some salad leaves put on a plate with balsamic dressing over the top!! Shocking Mains took 50 mins to arrive, pasta sauce lack of taste, fish for sure frozen and defrost put onto plate, scallops seriously over cooked… it goes on and on!! Would not recommend and definitely not revisit!!

One of our favourite restaurants usually, not this visit,firstly the service wasn't great,staff wandering about with hot food asking if it was anybodies,I sat with my scarf & jacket around me throughout the meal as the restaurant was really cold,other guests also had thier jackets on throughout thier meals,my husband ordered the meatballs to start ,it arrived with 3 measly meatballs & a slice of garlic bread,for £8.25 that was atrocious value,other restaurants we visit serve at least 5/6 for a lesser price & the same standard of food,my soup was lovely,the mains were good too,I would normally have a sweet but it was too cold to sit any longer,we left after paying our bill,would we rush back...no!

We go back again and again! The food and prices are fantastic. Such great value on lunch/pre theatre and Sunday menus. There hasn't been anything I've tried here that I don't enjoy. Best Italian in Lanarkshire and beyond. We have had many family occasions here over the years and it never disappoints. Lovely atmosphere and great for families and couples alike.

We went for Christmas Dinner to the 5.30 sitting. Pollyanna & staff were amazing. Very professional , chef made the best food ever , Last year we went to Di Gusti & it was something like faulty towers. I am soo pleased to advise the service food & professionals is soo much better at Leonardos. If you want the best Italian food & with amazing service go Leonardos Thanks

Lovely genuine Italian flavours

Went to Leonardos for the first time for a birthday lunch for my mum, not sure why we haven’t been before but will definitely be back! Very friendly waitress welcomed us and showed us to our table, she told us she would keep the table next to us empty to give us plenty room as a few of us had mobility issues. The service from all staff was excellent, made everyone feel at ease, didn’t rush us at all, and accommodating wee changes to dishes without a problem. For starters two had prawn cocktail, one bruschetta, and one mussels in chilli and tomato sauce. All were excellent. For mains two had sea bass, I had rigatoni filleto, and one had veal milanaise, (served with potatoes and veg instead of the usual pasta accompaniment). All meals were faultless, perfect portions for a lunch. Two ordered desert, the waitress gave my mum her desert on the house and they sang happy birthday to her, yes she was mortified but it was a lovely gesture and very much appreciated. Bill was a very reasonable £98 for 4 of us, we will definitely return.

We booked lunch at Leonardos for my mums birthday treat. She is a fairly fussy eater but we felt the lunch menu offered a great selection. The food and service were excellent , would recommend pollo Pepe and the chicken Milanese followed by the sticky toffee pudding . Wine by the glass is very reasonable priced . Have been here on a few other occasions recently and the experience has been consistently good and offers excellent value for money. Tucked up a side street a wee bit out of the way in Hamilton ,but very much worth a visit , we will definitely be back soon .

I have to say, aesthetically the restaurant was faultless. It was nice, clean, the staff polite. The issue was simply the food and the value vs quality. So starting with the starters, my partner had a great starter, hers was the melon and prosciutto ham. That was fine, it was nice and the salty ham vs sweet melon was great. My starter was terrible, I ordered the battered scallops. The scallops were virtually flavourless and whilst scallops are mild, this was just dull. As for the batter, it was very bready. I’ve no idea how else to describe it, but it was heavy, flavourless, and the dish was simply awful. As for our mains, the sea food linguine was in my opinion overly spicy. My partner enjoyed the spice but found the overall dish bland. The sea food was comparatively better than the starter, but only marginally. The scallops was much better than the starters but that’s again only comparatively, and there wasn’t a perception of good value for money with it. It was also disappointing that the langoustine came with in tact claws and no claw crackers to open them. As for the veal, it was like old leather in gravy. The veal I’m used to is tender, soft and flavourful. This was not like that. The meat was tough like week old leather soaked in a gravy. We did find that the young server forgot about us a couple of times but he was sweet enough and tried. But overall the food and drinks came to nearly £90. We didn’t feel it was worth the price tag. Pretty restaurant that’s tucked out the way, and clearly a lot of thought put into the place. Just wish as much effort went into the food.

Lovely food, helpful staff very relaxing

Great place, sometimes it seems to get forgotten with the other restaurants in the area. Reasonably priced and staff are excellent.

We had lunch today as we have had on many previous occasions. As always the food was delicious and the pre theatre menu is not too expensive. The point of our review today is to give a shout out to our lovely waitress Steph who went above and beyond to assist with my friends 94 year old Mum. Steph noticed that we were struggling to get her through the doors and came to help without any hesitation. She took control of the situation making sure we were seated close to the door and toilets and continued to make us feel comfortable throughout our visit. She then helped us out of the restaurant and made sure Mum got into the car. Excellent customer service Steph. Hope to see you soon 👌

Visited for a meal today. We both went for the the pre-theatre menu. Plenty of choice for starters but not so much for mains if not going for pasta. Starters were pretty good. Prawn cocktail and chicken with chorizo with a nice sauce. We went for chicken Milanese and a salami pizza with focaccia on side. Everything looked nice and service very efficient. Have to say the mains were pretty poor. Chicken was very bland, flat and dry. Pasta was nice enough. Pizza was still soft dough as if it hadn't been cooked properly all round the sides. Focaccia was the same. The dough round sides very soft and undercooked. Apart from pizza everything needed seasoned a lot. We got the same mains from a large chain in the town centre and have to say it was far superior to this. Very surprised at how bland everything was and doughy. Although nicely decorated the restaurant was very hot which didn't make for a comfortable visit either. Can't say it was good value for the quality of food even with the pre theatre menu.

We visited Leonardo's on a Wednesday lunch time prior to a day at the races. It's situated on a side street not on the beaten track but a great find. We had the lunch menu 2 course's for £14.95 great value! We had mussels in a spicy tomato broth and chicken liver pate with garlic break ,then chicken Milanese with carbonara sauce and pizza washed down by wine . This was our first visit but won't be the last a lovely start to our day. I can highly recommend as staff were friendly and welcoming well done to all thank you.

Excellent food great value for money

Excellent Italian. The service first and foremost was superb. I didn’t catch the waitress’s name but she was excellent. I’d a pre theatre menu special which was exceptional value for money. Had lasagne and fried mozarella. Treated myself to cheesecake for dessert which was exceptional. Would highly recommend.

Not the best. Starters had some salad leaves which had clearly just been rinsed under water. The water on the plate ran and dampened the garlic bread and split the mayonnaise which was on my husbands plate for the garlic mushrooms. My pollo milanese the spaghetti sauce was tasteless. Wouldn't return which is a shame as the decor is lovely.

Went here based on recommendations from the hotel staff where we stayed at. We're picky with Italian food so their Veal Milanese is ok, Cannelloni is good and rigatoni bolognese is ok. But I'm giving them 4-stars for their good & friendly service. They even called a cab to take us back to the hotel. Thanks again for helping us out!

Mum and I both got pints of draught coke/diet coke and these were £3.45 each. We both opted for the lunch menu which was £14.95 each. We both got mozzarella in carrozza to start - states this is cubes on the menu but actually comes as sticks (we actually preferred this but just incase someone wouldn’t, it’s wrong info you are given). On the menu, it states this comes with a spicy tomato dip but it genuinely just tasted like tomato soup (however, it was a good size portion of sauce they gave us). We then both got the pollo milanese - the chicken was in this strange batter and seemed soggy. The pasta itself was again, in a strange soup-like sauce - not spicy tomato as arrabiata should be. We ordered a portion of chips to share which was £3.65. The service was somewhat slow even though the restaurant only had 3 to 4 tables sat the whole time we were there. Overall, we wouldn’t return to this restaurant.

Divine Italian food. Attentive staff, varied menu and a great selection of drinks. We were visiting Hamilton for the races and needed somewhere to eat on the Saturday night, walked in to a warm welcome, relaxed environment and delightful decor. A must visit for Italian food lovers.

First time eating here in seven years. Ate from the Sunday special menu. Great choice and value for money. Will definitely be back.

Grossly overrated venue, place was almost empty when we went last night, but still couldn't sit where we wanted. Food prices have soared upwards, a ribeye steak is now £25, without any veg , or potatoes, or chips, an extra £3.50 for them, no sauce unless you pay an extra £3.50.Also the veg and potatoes came in a very small bowl and was literally swimming in oil, my wife had chicken stroganoff for £17 once again no pasta or rice unless you paid extra, certainly won't be as keen to go again as I've said prices have hiked up big time ,food presentation has deteriorated, also could have blown bubbles with the steak it had that much grizzle , hot chocolate was tepid to cold, very much disappointed with our very expensive visit.

I've been coming here for years and buy my friends and family vouchers as gifts but so disappointed the last couple of times.Iv never been in the back of the restaurant since it was refurbished and ask if I could sit in it last night I was told a flat NO. No gestures to seating.No offer of taking coats to hang up .No accompaniment with main meal I ordered Pollo stroganoff, chicken with mushrooms in a bowl of sauce no pasta no rice.we paid extra for rice and vegetables which were drowned in oil , disgusting,The menu writing was so small we struggled to read it.we ordered house white No showing of the bottle no tasting of the wine,J'st plopped on the table. I ordered a hot chocolate which was Luke warm and tasteless usually you get a wee bit of tablet served with it but not this time.we spent over £100 and were 100% disappointed won't be back and won't recommend.

We went here for a meal and it was great the staff were very friendly we got the lasagna and it was the best I have ever had the chips were fantastic and the cheesy garlic bread was delicious and the price was very decent

Terrible. I will never be back. My girlfriend and I asked for a table at 8:45. We were told the kitchen is closed and they don't shut until 10:00.

Our first visit to Leonardos and we were very impressed. I had an extremely tasty caesar salad, a very generous helping so I was given a box to bring my left overs home. My husband had tagliatelle arrabiata which he loved, it was very spicy and again a generous portion.

Had a lovely lunch today, food was good staff very helpful .

Visited for lunch menu, waitress was friendly and helpful but minestrone soup was more like vegetable soup even though menu described minestrone as tomato soup with vegetables but was given soup that was more like vegetable stock with vegetables, waitress took order for drinks with my partner requesting glass of wine , she was given " large glass" no choice was offered but bill charged us £8.55 for wine , disappointed that no offer of size of measure was offered Disappointing visit that would make me consider returning Poor show Leonardo's

Lovely evening and delicious food. The attention to detail about one of our party needing a gluten free meal was outstanding, they couldn’t have done more to ensure that the food was suitable, can’t praise them enough.

Fantastic family friendly Italian restaurant. I was travelling for business but the relaxed and inviting vibe of the restaurant was perfect for families and social occasions. The best calzone I have ever had. I am a big fan of calzone and pizza and this was superb. It was somehow both filled with delicious food and light and fluffy. I have had so many which are heavy and settle like a rock in your stomach afterwards whereas this was light and fresh and filling from start to finish. 10/10.

The menu poorly describes some of the items. Wasn’t impressed.

Good size portion of food. Great atmosphere aswell. The funghi fritti and calamari fritti was delicious with the garlic mayo dip accompanied - again good size portion. Definitely would come back!

Been here twice since last visit, both occassions the meals were delicious would recommend it to anyone who loves Italian meals, the staff are brilliant and make you feel welcome as soon as you come through the door, its always busy. Had another delicious meal, good atmosphere, apart from Saturday evening a table with some adults who were talking very loudly to each other ignoring the screaming child who covered the floor in food, i feel sorry for the staff having to clean up after them.

Amazing service and the most delicious food we had in a very long time. Staff very welcoming and food portions very generous. Highly recommend😊

First time visitor to this little gem. Went for the fillet steak, it was perfectly cooked and whatever the particular method the chef here uses for seasoning the steaks works really well, almost like a barbecue finish on the outside as to which adds to the flavour. Chips cooked fine as you would expact. Service from the staff nice and efficient.

Both the provision and the labelling of dietary restrictions was pretty poor. There were few (as in 2) vegetarian options, with none at all on the Christmas menu. There was no information about allergies that I could see.

We popped in on Saturday for a last min lunch. Called just 15 min before, and they were kind and squeezed us in. There were 4 adults and one child in our party. The restaurant was busy for lunchtime. That said, our order was taken quickly and we did not want long for the food. As we were in a hurry, we only ordered main meals. All our food was fantastic, I would highly recommend the chicken, pepperoni and salami calzone, it was delicious and very filling. All of the staff that greeted and waited on us were all very nice too. I would recommend this lovely restaurant to anyone.

Food was really good. Wine was delicious. Christmas decorations were outstanding. The the linguine di Mar is amazing if you like seafood and the calamari friti was fresh and yummy. Staff were accommodating of us on a short notice book and very hospitable. Hopefully get to visit again soon

Lasagna was very dry microwaved and over done not very fresh very dissapointed in the the quality of food but out with family dident want to complaine as family meal out could have made better myself and im not Italian but then the owners arent Italian either just microwaved food at high pices plus a 10% service charge too much for quality of food served not too impressed at all food used to be top quailty in this place had many good meals her not the same as before will not hurry back used to be great quailty food always fresh cooked but just not the same what a shame sevice not too good either orders mixed up wrong dished severed aswell and got told no thays what you ordered well not really but eat it anyway over all not a great experiance wont hurry back quite ashame as it used to be a great wee place not anymore

One of the oldest restaurants in Hamilton, been there as far as I can remember. Went back after years. Same great service. Food takes a while but seems to be all freshly made. Everything was good, wife is a fussy eater when it comes to Italian and she loved it. Staff are friendly and restaurant has a great traditional vibe. Would recommend as great Italian in Hamilton as an alternative to the standard big chains.

Absolute gem of a restaurant which is tucked away out of the main town so you will need to seek it out. We were lucky to walk in and get a table, as the place was packed. Great service, lovely food and well priced. We had a super evening.

Very nice place and good food. You definitely want to book a reservation if you plan to come anywhere near dinner time. Cannelloni was very good as was the spaghetti with meatballs and the Arrabbiata.

Being two times now with my mrs and the two times there could not ask for better service or food is always 100% as I am a chef for 12 years myself and find it hard to fine good food like this

I was visiting friends and we had dinner in Leonardo's. I really enjoyed the food and I look forward to going back again.

Staff were wonderful, door entry was crammed with lights and furniture and not suitable for disabled customers, produce prices are competitive and food is average nothing special.

We had a mothers day meal. The food and service were excellent.
