We called in for a quick meal before the theatre and ordered two pizzas. The service was fast and friendly, drinks were nice and reasonably priced and the pizzas were very tasty with unusual toppings which made it memorable. I don't know if we would return for a fine dining experience but for a quick lunch it was great.

Just returned from a week-end trip to see The Commitments, Palace Theatre London. Most enjoyable break, somewhat spoiled by a pretty awful meal at resturant Cappuccetto ( just beside The Palace Theatre). Atmosphere, service and food absolutely dreadful. Please avoid this establishment at all costs!!! Their obvious strategy is to capture passing trade and not worry a lot about repeat business.

We were here for a pre-theatre meal. It was fine and nicely decorated and set, as well as the meal being priced well. But none of our steaks were cooked right and all of us had indigestion from what we think was the delicious, but very rich mashed potatoes. A fine meal if unremarkable.

Went here after seeing The Commitments on Sunday afternoon. Decor was nice and restaurant inviting but that's about it. Food was bland and tasteless. Starter was squid and king prawns and main was carbonara. Squid looked and tasted shop bought. Carbonara didn't really taste of anything. Too much pasta, mean amount of bacon and a white sauce that had no discernible flavour. So many places in the uk with bland food it's sad.

We stumbled upon this following a theatre visit & it looked fab with a very enticing special offer on the pavement boards. Once seated, no offers were forthcoming until we asked.......the menu looked reasonable & mid range prices for central London. The staff were friendly enough and did offer us the deal advertised eventually! I think they hope you go 'a la carte' once inside. We only had mains & dessert, 2 ordered baked Sea Bass, 1 said it was ok but mine was laced with oil & not very warm. I asked for Mediterranean vegetables instead of saute potatoes - I got both. The vegetables were also swimming in oil & almost cold-yuk! 2 had steak & chips, it looked ok, but my husband-who is not as fussy as me! wasn't keen, chips were cool. So overall I wasn't impressed. Being with friends who particularly wanted to go in this place, I found it difficult to complain. I didn't want to spoil an otherwise great evening - we had seen War Horse!!! I think the staff read my unease & didn't ask anyone how the food was. All dessert were nice & as described. Won't be returning!

Pre-Theatre is always a test of location and price in London, but Cappuccetto Soho was really good. Located on Moor Street just around the corner from several West End Theatres, it is a nice venue. The tables are set with starched white linen cloth and it has attentive staff, both Bianca and Erton were good. I opted for two appetizers as I did not want a huge meal. They both came very well presented, with interesting garnish. Pleasing to the eye and to the taste buds. Carpaccio with rocket and sliced parmesan had lots of cheese and meat -excellent value - and the melanzane lasagne was hot with a very nicely seasoned sauce. I was satisfied but not stuffed. The menu has lots of choices, in addition to the limited daily specials that are on the 2-course pre-theatre menu. The prices were fair and I felt it was good value for the money.

Went there pre-theatre and had their pre-theatre 2 course menu. Only 2 choices per course. We both had the same starter of asparagus mix with mozzarella, which was very nice.I then had lasagne which was not hot enough for me. I told the waitress who brought another which was colder than the first one. I was then brought another which was hot in parts and cold in others. Why it was not consistent I have no idea.My friend had salmon on mashed potato. The salmon was hot but the potato cold. A great Italian restaurant, reasonably priced which is hard to find in central London. I've been here many times and it used to be a hidden gem that no one would think to go into. It's now been refurbished and has a more modern look. The food quality has remained great. The service is the best you could want in such a restaurant but as always we all go there for he food. On this occasion we started with the Mozzarella sharing platter, the restaurants specialty and imported straight from Italy. - PerfectionThe main course, we had steak, the presentation was good and the steak did not disappoint. Not the best steak I've ever has but certainly very good and worth indulging in.From experience the Italian classics here carbonara, tagliatelle, ravioli are the best. If your gonig to the theater, are in the area and looking for a good restaurant fit for a foodie, this is the place. I can't imagine there is much better Italian food at such a great price available. Wandered into this place walking around the neighborhood looking for Italian. Menu looked nice and generally did not disappoint. Service was a bit choppy as I suspect our waitress was somewhat new but had help from other waiters. Only downside was the carpaccio. It seemed either cooked or marinated and a bit thick, kind of unusual but ok. Sea bass was fresh and tasty, gnocchi was good, and a special bean soup with shrimp was good, somewhat spicy, but more a plate of brans with shrimp than a soup. Overall a nice meal.

Twice this week my wife had to go to London Bridge Hospital. On the second trip she had the tube removed from her nose down to her stomach and was then able to eat normally. We took a Cab to Covent Garden to try and find Bill's but couldn't find it and stumbled over this restaurant, it was only 17.30 and the restaurant was empty but the menu looked enticing. We received a warm welcome and ordered a bottle of Salice Salentino and olives while we perused the menu. Our waitress was charming even though her English was a little sketchy. My wife had a starter of risotto and I had prawns and calamari, both wonderful; our mains were calves liver in a red wine jus for my wife, and an authentic wood oven cooked pizza for me, an altogether authentic Italian meal. After coffee our waitress brought us complimentary chilled Italian liqueurs. The bill including a service charge was just £54.95, pretty much what we would spend in Pizza Express in Milton Keynes! Charming staff, delicious inexpensive food, definitely worth a visit.

There was a very wide range of food to select from and the quality was excellent.Service was quick and very efficient in a typically loud atmosphere associated with Italian restaurants. The cost was not that expensive and we had a complementary Lemoncello liquor after the meal. Been all around Soho but just found this place as a last minute recently before a show. And well worth it. Some of the best Italian food I have eaten in London for a long time. Everything was really top notch. The Buffetta if that is how you spell it was fresh and sublime with asparagus and sun dried tomatoes; highly recommended followed by delicious and generous shrimp with garlic sauce and boiled spinach and garlic with big chunks of fresh garlic - perfectly done; my colleagues had tuna steak and grilled beef both of which were also excellent and cooked to perfection. The place is a bit cramped and they could freshen up the décor as well as have a better selection of house wines but come here for the food and order off the wine menu and you won't be disappointed. I visited with a friend for lunch pre-theatre based on recommendations. The restaurant is beautifully done inside, the toilets were immaculate too. The food was presented in a very attractive manner. I had calzone pizza but it was the poshest I'd eaten and every mouthful melted on the tongue. The homemade tiramisu was just fantastic. As we were sitting eating several people came to book tables for that evening and other days, so it clearly has repeat visitors. The only reason I've declined to give five stars was the service was a bit slow and our older waiter a tad grumpy. However you could argue it was nice not to feel rushed through dinner and dessert.

I have used this restaurant regularly on visits to the capital, but sadly things have changed for the worse. It used to be small, friendly and attentive. Now it is larger, the food is mediocre and the service is unattentive. After studying the menu for some time and choosing, we were then told that at least one item was "not available"! Why can`t they say so at the beginning? Then the waiter brought the wrong starter, which of course took some time to correct.I finally chose the lasagne which was a rubbery lump of cheese, prepared some time ago and put under the grill!Ugh.It wasn`t even busy. What a pity this lovely little place has gone so far downhill.

Amazing value! The finest touch was that as we didn't order dessert (we were too full), they brought out Limoncello and truffles to our table before the bill. Adorable.

Then it closed and after a long and much overdue refit reopened initially with few changes apart from the fact that the place looked much better. We ate there today, first time in maybe 18...

Cappuccetto is a small cosy true Italian restaurant near Cambridge Circus. Italian staff, very friendly. The food was great quality. I had a spicy rissotto as a starter with chicken and pepper. My main course was baked cod fish with potatos, olives and capres. Together with a glass of Pinot Grigio everything was perfect. My wife and daughter had a lasagna with bechamel saus, very tasty. My son had great tender beef from the grill. In total for 100 pounds. Decent price for a great food. Before we went we got a sweet after dinner drink on the house.

Stopped here for a meal after seeing a show with my wife and a friend visiting us from Canada. Staff were all very friendly and attentive, without being overbearing. Our starters and main courses were all very enjoyable, with the Italian conversation between the staff lending to the authentic atmosphere. The wine was also of a high standard, and we would definitely recommend this as a place for a good quality Italian meal in London.

Ristorante Cappuccetto just delights the senses. The eyes are treated to small, intimate and warm rooms. The nose delights in the aromas wafting from the kitchen. The tastes exquisite from appetizers to salads, pastas and entres. We were walking around SoHo one dreary afternoon and walked right past Cappuccetto. After a few paces, we turned about and had one of the best meals EVER. The staff are welcoming and service first rate. And please do not mention this to ristorante management, the prices are most reasonable -- even with the exchange rate to dollars. So for all you Londoners and all those that travel to this beautiful city, dine at Cappuccetto.

Tried this fantastic little Italian restaurant on a whim, knowing nothing about it beforehand. The menu looked interesting, the ambiance seemed nice, I went for it. Best meal I've had in London! In fact, best Italian meal I've had since a trip to Florence in 2009. Impeccable, friendly service, food well presented, delicious and reasonably priced. The waiter told me that although the restaurant has been in existence since 1962 (!!), it was a plain old pizza place until a few months ago. New management took over and decided to hired a wonderful chef from Naples and upscale the offering. They've done an outstanding job. I had a wonderful selection of italian cheese with home-made marmalade as an entree (the gorgonzola was divine), followed by crispy salmon filet with endives and roasted basil potatoes. Excellent wine. Highly recommended.

We had a meal at Ristorante Cappuccetto after we watched Jersey Boys at the Prince Edward theatre, Soho. The service was brilliant, the owner very generous (free limoncello & biscuits with our coffee) and the food was fantastic. It really was the best meal we had on our 3 week trip and we went to many restaurants for every meal while we were away.Definitely worth visiting, even if you haven't attended a show.

By chance we entered this nice Italian restaurant. The athmosphere was very good and so was the food. But what really set this restaurant a part though, was the perfect service which was always attentive yet never bothersome and always funny but never rude. In short; Italian dining at its best!

I have eaten at fine restaurants all over the world and I was absolutely stunned by the quality of every part of my meal. Literally, I had tears in my eyes with each forkful. Cannot, CANNOT recommend this restaurant highly enough.Additionally the prices were extremely reasonable, the service was very good, and the tablecloths were fabric. Just a lovely atmosphere. We will return here again and again and again!

We had lunch at this restaurant which is close to the Prince Edward Theatre and were glad to escape the noise and crowds of that touristy area for a quiet relaxing lunch. We chose 2 of the small pasta dishes and they were delicious and freshly prepared. The service was excellent and the quality of the food extended to the desserts. Overall, a good choice.

My first revisit to this old favourite restaurant since it had been renovated, Apart from the attempt to make it look "chic", the old staff seemed to have been completely replaced too. Previously a comfortable place to eat at a moderate cost in a friendly almost homely atmosphere. For me, the makeover just does not work, all but the name has completely changed and not for the better. Slightly overly attentive staff can make you feel uncomfortable, combined with very average food, which I noticed has gone north in price. This restaurant used to be a hidden gem, but has now become like all the rest - identity lost!I will not be going back, and would find it hard to recommend, unlike the old one which I did on many occasions.

Five of us -- two couples plus our thirteen year old grandson -- had a birthday dinner for my wife at Cappuccetto in June on our London trip. The restaurant was close to our leased flat, thus convenient, but it sounded great and was in every respect. After establishing that my wife's grandmother and the server's family were from the same province in Sicily, I supposed everything else would surely be first class. It was. The service was excellent, as was the food. The portions were modest by standards in southern Italian restaurants in the U.S., but each dish was tasty and uniquely flavored. Prices were reasonable by London standards (and those of large cities in the U.S.). Staff was solicitous and ended the meal with a decadent dessert for my wife, on the house, accompanied by candle and the birthday song (in English, not Italian). The limoncello on the house was a very nice touch. Pictures all around ended a very pleasant evening.

Having purchased tickets to a show in London's West End, we arrived several hours before the performance in order to select a restaurant for dinner before the show. After reading the menu posted outside Cappuccetto, we decided that it would be a fine choice. Well, it was better than fine. The service was excellent, the recommendations given for selections were perfect, the wine excellent. I just can't say enough good things about this restaurant. When in London's West End, where you have, of course, a myriad of choices, look no further than Cappuccetto if you are in the mood for delicious Italian cuisine.

May 2013 - It was our last night in London, we just saw Singing in the Rain and wanted a really fantastic meal to round it off. We lucked out when we happened upon this restaurant! I can't convey how impressed we were with both the food...homemade pasta, fresh seafood, burratta cheese as an app (very creative presentation) and the very attentive and helpful service...we've dined at many restaurants in many countries and this experience is right at the top. Highly recommended...you won't be disappointed.

My wife and I went to this restaurant twice during our visit to London because we saw several plays and this restaurant is conveniently located in the theatre district. The first time we went after a play for wine and antipasto. The manager, Alfio, greeted us warmly and made a special off-menu assortment for us. We liked the food and friendly service so much that we went back a second time for dinner with friends. Between us all, we ordered a variety of starters, main courses and desserts and it was outstanding across the board! The prices are also reasonable.I highly recommend this place!

We were looking for a nice Italian meal in Soho and liked the look of the restaurant, the menu, and the fact that many diners were enjoying themselves. So we gave them a try. We were very pleased with our choice. The food was imaginative and well prepared; the staff generally very pleasant (out waiter was efficient but not very helpful, everyone else was really helpful and friendly). And best of all, this was a reasonable dinner, in a nice setting ... rivaling some of the more expensive Italian restaurants we've eaten at in London and New York. So if you find yourself in Soho and want a nice Italian meal head down here.

Was in London for a usual business trip and my partner decided to join me for the weekend. We went back to visit Cappuccetto as this restaurant brings back loads of memories of a good few years ago.We were at first surprised to see that the restaurant had changed owner since our last visit but having said this I have to say the food was good. The owner is not Italian but the chef is and therefore I could only say that it was positive. We had the olives that were absolutely delicious and then the pasta alla carbonara. Will definitely return Thanks for bringing back all those fab memories !!!

I visited this restaurant twice this week; once for their pre-theatre menu during the week and the other for Saturday lunch (just don't expect the set menu option on a Saturday!). I felt it deserved at least a couple of visits before my review. I'd say this was a good average Italian for the area. The pre-theatre menu price is comparable with others and just next to Old Compton Street the place is not short of eateries with competition being fierce. It's not outstanding in my opinion though. The seafood risotto was nicely cooked with the prawns just right but it was a tad too salty for me. The crab ravioli was nice but not overly generous in size. The chocolate soufflé was overcooked and disappointing when it failed to ooze a liquid centre as described on the menu. It's average at best with not bad prices for the location but there are probably better Italian restaurants in the vicinity. Service both times was excellent though.

Hungry and tired and not having booked a meal, we succumbed to an invitation to enter (as if we were tourists). Big mistake - veal was tough and chicken tasteless and stringy but the waitress was pleasant and the wine just drinkable. So many visitors to London must go home thinking such eateries (and there are quite a few) are the norm here but there are so many better than this and possibly more reasonably priced.

Very disappointed with what has happened to cappucetto since the re-fit. My favourite dish has disappeared from the menu and there was a poor veggie alternative. The restaurant was under-staffed, which resulted in long waits (even to pay) and the food was undercooked and luke warm. As I mentioned in a previous review, I have been visiting this eatery for 25 years and I am afraid last night will be the last.sic transit Gloria mundi as they say in Rome!

Five of us called in while in London nearby for a business lunch. Very different as you have to do down into an underground area. The decor is modern but with an industrial/classic feel. I am not a fan of pizza but we all ordered pizza as recommended by one of our group and I am glad we did as it was very good - as far as pizza goes. The atmosphere was great and the service was excellent. Highly recommend for somewhere interesting and quirky. The only down side was it was a bit pricey but I suppose we were in London!

Walking I noticed this small pizzeria characterized by a wood oven. The furniture is typical of an Italian trattoria. The staff is friendly, rapid and attentive to the customer just as you expect in Italy. The pizza is exceptional. The dough is well leavened and, therefore, light. The condiments are of excellent quality. Cooking is perfect. Excellent beer and ice cream also fully satisfies the palate. The account is adequate.
