Ristarante Italia in Wirral

Well where to start, waited over 20 mins to be seated on a pre booked table, once we where shown to our table, the chair was covered in food and had to ask for it to be cleaned! The knife was dirty, as it seemed it was left over from the previous customer!!! When the waitress came over she sat down on the spare chair of another table, ( there was a couple sitting at said table) to proceed to ask several times "can I take your order doll". Starters were spot on to be fair, no complaining there, onto the main, half the food was like warm half was under cooked and cold! Even the table next to us sent there meals back twice as they had the same problem, towards then send of the night said waitress was drinking wine like it was going out of fashion to the point she was slurring her words and propping her self up on chairs and tables, this restaurant was recommended to us with really good reviews, but yet nothing but disappointed, from this experience I wouldn't recommend this to anyone

Lovely little independent family run restaurant. Food is lovely, feels like it is home cooked by a Sicilian Nona. Nothing fancy with presentation, but beautiful flavours. A surprisingly large menu offering with a good variety of vegetarian options. They even told us they could adapt dishes to ours deitry needs if we saw something we'd like to try. A great wine list to accompany your food choice. We ordered a bottle of the house white, which came in a litre bottle and was really nice, considering the fair price. For food, we went with a mushroom a linguini, a gorgonzola pizza, some roasted vegetables and a side of chips with aoili. We thought we had ordered to much, but we ate everything, not a crumb was left. Highly recommended. Tip: Don't eat before you go, to save room for dessert. We were disappointed we where so full, that we couldn't try the homemade Tiramisu. Also, they don't take service tips using card payments, and no service charge was built into the bill. So take some cash, so you can tip the team for your lovely experience.

Properly enjoyed it here. Been past a few times and always meant to pop in. So accommodating to our 10 month old, friendly staff, really tasty food and fast service. Highly recommend. It might not be the most up to date place you've ever been, but what it lacks in modernity, it makes up for in authenticity. Do not overlook this place because it's tucked away

Experience is let down by what tastes like cheap wine, every time my wife drinks a glass of the house white wine she gets a headache. Please Please change the wine, maybe also offer Chardonnay by the glass. That said this is a lovely little restaurant that you should visit. Food is excellent and atmosphere is relaxed.

Been coming here fir the past 12 years its a lovely restaurant with an warm inviting atmosphere, the traditional authentic italian food is outstanding, crab with advacado is amazing! Love the fresh vegetables and sautéed potatoes that come with mains.

We visited this restaurant for a date night after driving past it for years and thinking it looked adorable from the outside. It wasn't good. The food was hot and edible but not amazing. The mayonnaise came with a film on like it'd been left out too long and the bill for two of us was around £90. There are better places for better value around this area. The lighting is too bright, it feels disorganised and noisy rather than cosy and intimate. We won't go back. The only redeeming feature was the serving staff who were chatty and pleasant but less focused on the serving and more on the chatting. It was so expensive for what it was.

The best lasagne on the Wirral, according to my wife, she's never wrong. The specials are always excellent!

Exceptionally rude owner. We walked out before taking our table because of her abrupt and discourteous manner. Honestly, the rudest we’ve been spoken to. We have dined regularly there since moving back to the area last year. The other staff are lovely and the food has always been very good. However tonight’s experience left us upset and publicly humiliated so sadly, we are unlikely to return.

Best Italian restaurant in Wirral!

Colleagues have raved about this place for years and when I finally went I was not disappointed! It tells you something when the place is packed out on a Wednesday night. The crab and avocado starter was a thing of beauty, and pork in marsala wine a decent follow up. Lovely food, rustically presented and served with a smile - you really can't go wrong!

Everytime I have been to this restaurant it just gets better. Tuesday evening 6pm and completely packed. So that says it all. Staff were wonderful and could not accommodate us enough. Food always lovely.

Some of these reviews are hilarious. My view - for what it is worth...fitted us in at late notice (my now partner and I). The feel of the place was great. There was a large family near us, just enjoying the vibe and food which added to the evening. The food was excellent and the tip was more than I would usually leave.

Wonderful place, great staff and food is excellent. And they serve grappa!! Saltimeboca well recommended. Last night veal chops were on the menu and we're superb.

Chicken gorgonzola not what it used to be. Chicken breaded! Don't think that's what it was before. Other than that food good and enjoyed the bruschetta.

Enjoyed our pizza and deserts from Ristorante Italia, which we had takeaway. The pizza's were fresh, with good ingredients. The staff were very welcoming and friendly on collection. They have a nice menu, with a good selection of courses to choose from. We would be keen to re-visit soon.

The food was very nice, good flavours and great tastes. The staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately The downside was the actual restaurant, are table by the window was very cold and suffering drafts from the door. The restaurant was very dated and in need of a makeover.

First time we visited. The food was lovely, however the owner came to take our order and I said I wasn't quite ready, she was very rude about it and pushy to take my order there and then. Even though she approached in this manner, I still asked for 2 more minutes, to which she still pushed and carried on being rude, so then I just had to order on the spot. The waitresses were very pleasant, but the owners attitude stinks and the way she addressed us was not how you treat your customers. The food is a bit pricey for what you get, but it was delicious. I would go back for the food but the experience of the owner has put me off returning because of her attitude.

Visited last night after booking via WhatsApp. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal as always, food is delicious, piping hot and authentic Italian. Atmosphere is lovely. Have seen reviews about the menu not changing but we don’t think it needs to as there’s loads of choice and it’s all lovely. Waiting on staff were great. You can’t leave a tip on card so take cash as we had no cash so we felt bad not leaving a tip as the staff were so good. Will be back again soon

Not been here for years but really pleased we made the decision to eat there on Sunday evening. The place was full so glad I had reserved a table. The young lady who waited on our table was helpful and friendly. We had garlic bread to start, hubby had pizza and I had pasta,both were delicious and served very hot. The wine was Italian and tasty and the atmosphere was fantastic. I will definitely be returning ☺

Used to go quite frequently many years ago, but stopped as the menu never appeared to change. Decided to give it another go, mistake. There was a cabaret, noisy family with 3 children, another diner shouted at them, he in turn got shouted a bu another diner ho had just turned up and had no clue what was going on, why the staff could not have asked them to keep it down is beyond me. Food, will i had fusilli with prawns and peas in mild curry sauce, a meal i first had there over 25 yeas ago!! Well it wasn't fusilli, and the prawns were really tiny and there were not many, really disappointing. I will admit my wife's meal was fine. The staff were not interested in feedback, i guess it was negative... Will not go back

Nice little restaurant, food was really tasty and service excellent, we were in a party of ten and everybody's meals came together, all piping hot and all as ordered which to be frank is pretty bloody rare nowadays.. Definitely a bit of a gem

We booked a table through Whatsapp as directed by their website (phone or WhatsApp) and when we turned up they had no record of our booking. The owner was incredibly rude to us and even when I showed her the WhatsApp messages proceeded to blame us for not calling up to book instead. The food is nice though, but won't be returning due to the rudeness of the owner as there are other restaurants nearby with a much more welcoming atmosphere.

Love the place. The food and staff are excellent. There was a very noisy inconsiderate group that had all had one too many, the staff handled them very professionally.

A return after 10 years - still owned and run by the same family and the food did not disappoint. This is a charming, rustic and VERY busy place - YOU NEED TO BOOK as it is very tiny. The food is totally incredible, the staff chatty, attentive and efficient - it's just like going to someone's private house for a dinner party. We had prawns and garlic bread to start, Saltimboccca Alla Romana and a seafood pizza between us. Best Salitmbocca in the WORLD, best seafood pizza outside of Italy - then we have to remember that the chef is Italian!!! We will be back!!!

A very expensive Italian restaurant. Are the high prices justified by the food? No. The Pizza garlic bread for just 4 tiny peices was £4.95! Tomato spaghetti with mushrooms was a whopping £13.50 and the Creamy Tricilore was £12.95. The Tiramisu was absolutely delicious however cost £6.95! Extremely outdated decor and toilets you do not want to use.

Spent over £75 on a takeaway, Jenny the owner very snotty, I asked if Giovanni was in got told he was around somewere (we know him, lovely bloke and an excellent cook). Got told by Jenny( part owner) to wait outside🤦‍♂️. She's got a real chip on her shoulder and that's coming from someone who could buy the whole street. Alex (her daughter,)needs to be showing her these reviews and I think it's time she left. Will not ever go again.

Used the takeaway service at this restaurant. Food was every bit as good as when you eat in. Try the Fusilli Buon Gustaio (pawns and pasta in a curry sauce). Lovely!!

Saturday evening, my partner and I, along with 2 friends visited for a meal. All 4 of us agreed each of our 3 courses was fabulous. I chose the special, pan fried chicken breast with peppers and onions topped with pesto and side of roasted garlic potatoes, I started with garlic mushrooms in a homemade tomato sauce and my dessert was semi-freddo a delicious almond pudding. I could not fault each dish. We all agreed that we chose well and had a little taster or each others meal. The service was wonderful too. We ordered a bottle of house red and house white, these were 1lt bottles so lasted the evening for the 4 of us. Price was very reasonable too, I would have happily paid more for the quality of the good. The restaurant has had a refurb since lockdown and although looks very nice and fresh I did prefer it before, the lighting was dimmer making it more cozy. I found it a little too bright, I mention this just as feedback not as a fault. I would return again in a heartbeat. I have eaten there before and also been to collect using the takeout service offered. It is only a small place which makes it feel more intimate and traditional

We were celebrating our anniversary, our second visit and we weren't disappointed. We started with bread and olives, the olives were in the chefs own marinade, beautiful! The balsamic vinegar, also homemade and that to was delicious, I'd definately buy it!!! We had curried crab and avocado, my thoughts were that's not very Italian, but it was so delicious I almost lost it to my partner. He ordered mushrooms in gauc and tomato, this is have happily swopped as this was just as yummy. We both had pizza, you could tell fresh dough as it was filling but not bloating. To keep some room for dessert we took some home. Dessert was just as fabulous as the previous courses. We decided on parfait, I'd have paid the same price for half the portion, it was divine and the flambé pancakes were plenty and delicious. The service was lovely and the atmosphere laid back. Couldn't fault anything and the lovely new decor is bright and welcoming.

Fabulous food authentic surroundings

Rude, unwelcoming greeting upon arrival to the restaurant. Booked table for 8pm, when we arrived no acknowledgement and had to go into the back to say we had a table booked. Told to stand at the door while table was set, quite embarrassing really as its very small inside and everyone was looking at us. After meal was asked if we would like to look at desert menu to then be told that the kitchen was shut it was 9:15pm on a Saturday night. Would never normally want to complain but I definitely felt the need to on this occasion. To top it off both my partner and I where violently sick the next morning.

We used to live in Bebington as a family and Mum and Dad visited this restaurant when it first opened regularly back in the 90's. I suppose it seemed like you were having a little taste of Italy back then but nothing could be further from the truth today. We visited it for the last time on the Saturday 9th of November as we were all in Bebington as a family for my Fathers memorial. The owner was someone who used to chat to my parents when they visited. She was off hand and made it apparent that she not only didn't remember any of us but also didn't care about offending anyone with her arrogant manner. I found everything about the place as far removed from Italy as you could possibly get. Totally unauthentic food, overpriced wine and tacky decor that was in desperate need of an update. Kids waiting on who knew nothing about anything and we had to wait nearly an hour for a microwaved main course that nearly burned the roof of your mouth off. You may have been able to get away with serving this type of rubbish in the 90's but this country has moved on an obviously left you behind.

we went to this place in may 2019 with friends and family ,the place was very loud and noisy and we could not hear ourselves speak ,the lady owner was rude to members of the party because even she could not hear but kept shouting at us to speak up , then we had very long waiting time between our courses and my wife's lasagna was very burnt and hard ,and on while we where waiting for food we started to notice on how filthy the place really was ,with the tops of pictures full of layers of dirt and dust and very large cobwebs hanging from lights near the till and on all the seating cushions where full of food stains and one of our party was very disabled with very bad legs and every time they came through from the kitchen they banged his sore legs ,we then asked to move to an empty table that had become free but they would let us move ,and one of our party was by the door that they came through from the kitchen and all the way through the time we where there the staff came through and the door banged close with such force that the person have a very bad headache by the time we left because you could see the door spring was broken and was not holding the door from banging shut , the overall noise was so loud that the background music could not be heard ,so the whole night was very bad experience overall and i would not recommend unless you like the pub bar type noise of a football match level boozer
