Best it's been in years! Food was perfect, the chips were lovely and fresh, and the burger tasted much better quality than previous. It's nice to see Rio's in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing!

Ok So it's been a long time since I last ventured out to the amazing rios burgers of Newbury They used to be the best burgers on the planet without question Sadly my 1st bite of my Volcano burger revealed a low quality over cooked burger in a hard bun The wife's burger was the same disappointing experience. Very sad I'm hoping we caught Rios on a bad day

Had a round of burgers for the family - just perfectly chargrill 8 oz burgers , combination of salad cheese and bacon hit the mark after a busy week Thx Rio’s as good as ever

Mediocre hamburger, made worse by Rio's no longer providing sauces/relishes as they did when I was reccomending it to my friends! When I asked for relish, I was given a stingy amount. I won't be using Rio's again, and neither will my friends!

Just had the “supreme “ burger and would recommend to anyone who likes additional cheese in their burger ! Cooked to perfection and really enjoyed it !

I’ve had Rio’s Burgers now a few times since they have been taken over. The ingredients all taste so much more fresh and better quality! The beef is really good and the chips are fluffy and crispy on the outside! Perfect 👌🏼

Rios is not what it once was, the food the atmosphere was ok but not great. I miss the decent burgers they used to do

First rime back in 4 years as had a previous bad experience. Have to say the new management have brought the place, food back up to the standard when the shop originally opened. Thanks Rios will be back soon

MUCH better under new management. Quality of food has clearly vastly improved and it is now a solid recommendation. Vegetarian options are a bit disappointing. Both of the vegetarian patty options on offer aren’t great. Either battered halloumi or the mashed up vegetable variety. Please please please offer some kind of ‘meat substitute’ type patty for us vegetarians!

Totally refurbished, clean and still the same menu, the new owners seem polite and hard working. Devils Pinch Burger taste great too....give them a try

Without a doubt the best burgers and chips around, had a 8z chicken burger and it was incredible, 15 minutes drive home and it was still piping hot, the chicken was cooked perfectly, juicy and Crispy, the chips were incredible as well, lovely and crispy, will 100% be going again, wouldn’t be surprised if I went again tomorrow as it was that good

There is no doubting the quality of the food has vastly improved. Have been multiple times recently and has always been nice, hot, and well prepared. However, like everything in todays economy the price has increased.

Still vastly superior to anything a global chain can produce. Highly recommended if all you want is the best burger in town served with perfectly cooked chips. Generous portion sizes too.

Used to be the best burger bar in Newbury, now its overpriced poor quality beef patty in a mediocre bun. £6.25 for a burger and £3 for chips. Be better going to a Weatherspoon's.

Great burger, great chips, great price, and it was ready in 10 minutes. The new management are doing a great job, and they've kept all the favourites on the menu. I will be back very soon.

ITS BACK.. ,have not been to Rios for many years as quality went down hill. The new owners seem to have nailed it ,quality is very good ,everly thing is cooked fresh and is reasonably priced. Will I be back....well 3 times in 3 days says a lot.

I went here again and I got humty and it was delicious to die for there is some pics and the staff is 10/10 they were joking and being so helpful to me and my family and I got the loaded fries Smokey ones and they were 10/10 if you are like are family who hated the old owners trust the reviews and give them a shot you won’t regret

IT'S BACK! After several years of poor ownership Rio's give itself a bad name, due to the lack of care, hygiene , quality of the food and service. Threes years later I returned as it had recently changed owenrs and had been completely renovated. I can confirm the appearance is much better and feels clean when entering. The quality of the food and service is back to how it was prior to poor ownership. Unfortunately the damage has been done to the Rios name but hopefully a fews years with the current owner and continuing the same level I received. I can safely say Rios will be back as one of Newburys best burger places once again.

Brilliant burger joint under new ownership. Really well cooked patties and a wide ranging menu that is executed well by friendly staff. People complaining about the price should realise this isn’t a McDonalds and uses good quality local meat. Only criticism would be that the floury bap doesn’t ‘grip’ the burger, a bit of toasting would be appreciated!

Been coming to Rios since 1995. Sadly it went downhill under the previous owner who used cheap burgers and had poor customer service. Happily I can promise everyone that the new owners have brought it back up to a very high standard that we were all used to. Great quality burgers and excellent service. Highly recommend them to anyone that used to be a fan and gave up on them. Well worth it now. I’d give them 10 stars if I could. Steve S

Very tasty food, great service at a reasonable price, I’ve been a few times and the experience is always good..The kitchen is very clean and the staff are friendly and presentable. This is the best version of Rios since it’s started in the 80’s.

We have had a couple of burgers recently from Rio’s all have been fantastic. Lovely burgers and friendly staff.

That’s the best burger I have ever eaten at this shop, it’s mouth watering, since long time as the management or ownership has been changed that’s why I can see and test the different. Definitely will come back and highly recommend

Burgers were good, but was extremly cold to eat inside. (-1 star for the cold, not for the food)

Today I ordered the chicken beast very yummy I also ordered chips also very nice the beast is a very nice burger that comes with bacon chicken or beef and a Cumberland sausage ring and is the best burger I've ever had staff in restaurant also very nice and you have to love the smiley face on the box. solid 10/10.

Great burgers cooked to perfection. Its like it used to be in the 90's. Great job guys making Rio's the institution it was. Been three times in two weeks and consistently been served an awesome burger every time. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.

Rio's burgers under new ownership are reliably as tasty as they previously were but are sadly not as cheap as they used to be. For many this was a major selling point. Overall my verdict: decent but less value for money (if you're going to increase price, improve the Burgers!

Best take away in Newbury for burgers

Visited first week of April. Had a Rio macho meal. The good: Fries were good, better than the average in a chicken shop. The ugly: Burger was ok, but could have been *much* better. The patties was really thick and dense. Can see it has alot of good meat and no fat. But heavens sake work the patties a bit so they become crisp and juicy. They have probably ordered the cheapest wholesale buns available! Really small, taste plasticy and litteraly no seeds on top. Guys, the next grade up probably isn't that much more expensive. Choose bigger buns so you can make the patties a bit larger but still using the same amount of meat, because right now your patties are too thick and dense. A few years back meal was ~£5, quality would have been fine for that price. But now meal for ~£8.69, it needs improvement!

Ordered today and unfortunately burgers are not what they used to be , ordered 2 Supremes and there was literally no sauce and no mushrooms at all in both of them. Will not be going back.

Our order was awful. The past 2 times has been spot on and very enjoyable, this time the burgers were terrible. Ordered a New Yorker and it came with hash browns (not in the description), no melted cheese (in the description) and raw onions not fried onions. The chef???? slung one burger on the counter (he was obviously not happy about being there and needs to get another job) so all the ingredients fell out. The chips were so shrivelled up they hardly had any potatoe in them. Will never get anything to eat from here again

Tried to order yesterday. Web page and Facebook said open. No reply to online order so walked past - shop closed even though board said open. So couldn’t try or get food. If you have to close why not put a note on social media or amend your web page

Put in an order this evening to be delivered after being over hour half late the food was cold and there was some of my order missing..disappointed is an understatement as my little boy was waiting as well it was a treat for him..its surprise me as we ordered before and all has been good in past.☹

Fantastic service great food for the price meal for t 2 1/4 Disney, 1/4 palm beach regular fries (choose your own from menu) beats McDonald's 2 mac macs n fries same price as Rios but after eating a Rios you are stuffed perfect for family meal. They do delivery as well but still a winner.

Best burgers in Newbury! If you like a bit of spice I highly recommend the Devils Pinch with Angry Fries. Fast & efficient service from Patrick & Jordan!!

Paid for a meal that took 2 hours to get here, 'happy fries' had no onion or jalapeno on them, whole meal was cold, rios4000 had no chicken in it, rang to see where delivery was, when asked my name was mocked in the background for my name, then told they couldn't do anything cos they cant ring the driver??!! Would NOT recomend. Only gave 1 star as cant give none.

Placed an order which cost £43 waited 2.5 hours for the delivery to arrive, although I was originally quoted 1 hour delivery. I wasn't aware there was delay with the order until I chased. Staff are not helpful, told me they had other deliveries that took priority. Perhaps they need some training on there customer service skills and not offer deliveries if they cannot Cope! A maybe a sorry would go down better, rather than some chavvy binbo saying yes well your orders delay! The The food then arrive cold! Rio's has really gone down hill...!!!! ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!!

Food was great as always, but the online system doesn't give you an estimated delivery time until you've already paid. Which then informed me there was a 90 minute wait which felt a bit extreme for a burger

Ordered for delivery and was quoted 80 mins but to my surprise it took just under 2 hours.... chips were ice cold and burger was soggy.... still tasted ok but so dissapointed as previously had possibly one of the best burgers ever... i will be hesitant to use again
