Hosting, decor and atmosphere very nice, friendly, not over the top. Food, however, was a different story. Meat was over seasoned with far too much salt and garlic, to the point we both felt ill the following day. Value for money seems very good, until you realise that they aim to fill you up on salad and carbs, bring out lots of low quality meat to start with and the final meat option is the expensive, good quality one that they don't over-season. I'd give Rio's a 3/10 - only the 3rd place I've said I won't ever go back to.

A perfect meal. All the staff were very helpful and inviting. The chiefs are legends, I have been here a lot over the years but this visit was the best I've had. Every single thing was cooked to perfection, there is no better way to have everything! Left very very happy and wanting to return. Thank you.

Stunning meal. Meat is cooked to perfection and in copious amounts. Operates as an all you can eat buffet with meats served at the table. Cannot recommend highly enough. I originally wrote this 5 years ago now. Today I once againhave booked a table to take our whole family out. Still going strong and still the best food imaginable. Thanks guys.

My wife enjoyed all the different meats freshly sliced from the skewers at the table by the chefs. I enjoyed the cold salad bar (around 14 different options) plus the hot food available. The cooked bananas and lasagne were especially good. I must admit as it is all you can eat, we did fill our plates 3 times each. There was just so much that looked (and tasted) so good that you could not help going back time after time. Staff are polite, attentive, and cheerful but not overbearing. Very reasonably priced, definitely good value for money. I can thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

OMG, the food is divine. The service is very good and the waiters who carve the meat at your table are so charming. You can eat until you can't cram another morsel of food in. The only thing I found slightly awkward was having to go downstairs to top up my salad, but that is a very minor thing. All in all, a really good place, though not for vegetarians.

We've been to many Brazilian barbecues but this is definitely top! The staff were absolutely wonderful, incredibly friendly and nothing was too much. We'll definitely visit again.

Superb quality meat, cooked perfectly so it’s very tender. Great variety of meats being bought round all the time. Rice, chips, potatoes, lasagne, cauliflower cheese, salads all on the buffet bar. Very friendly, helpful staff.

Such a shame. We was really looking forward to this meal. On their menu they state they have. Rice and pasta as part of their buffet and sadly there was none at all. Just cheap salad, potato’s, and cauliflower in a cheap watery cheese flavour sauce, bread and butter. The staff was beoyned unwelcoming and ignorant. No welcome just seated and drinks slammed down and walked off. No one told us how they work. They take to long to come round with the meat and when they do they moan at you if you don’t get it right by holding the tongs while they cut the meat. They give you a very thin slice and walk off. You wait a long time to get to try different meats. But the overall really is the lack of buffet items and the staff are a disgrace. So rude it’s insane to think they stay open.

Called in on a trip to Ipswich. As soon as we got in, the smell hit us! Smelled like someone had thrown up and it hadn't been cleaned up yet. Put us right off. Food was okay but not great. Staff were polite until we went to pay then it was like they couldn't get us out quick enough. The place was mostly empty.

Went as a party of 6 for a birthday celebration Only one of us had been before and I was gobsmacked at how good it was. The superb choices at the salad bar and choices of fries mini roast potatoes, and as for the meats they were cooked superbly and the taste was out of this world The garlic steak was to die for, the staff were lovely and helpful too. I will definitely return thank you so much for a great night

All you can eat meat that gets brought to your table and cut in front of you and unlimited salad bar with roast potatoes and cauliflower cheese.... I mean what else could you want, amazing !!

After visiting this restaurant first time everything was lovely apart from little too salty but that only happened first time So after that tried to keep visiting see if things were different and were deffo different , not salty anymore good atmosphere , kinda good costumer service so kept going thinking everything for my 3rd 4th visit were going to be always lovely but i got wromg No matter how many times now i visit im still charged for barely no diversity of meats as menu says, waiters talk too much with other costumers so meat takes a long time to arrive our table even if restaurant is empty almost etc so after my last visit i think now ill start visiting other places even if have to travel hours away because this restaurant isnt any longer what we expected for costumers thst go and go and keep giving opportunities to things be different a next time

Wasn't quite what we were expecting after going to other similar venues. It had a bit of a funny smell between meat and demestos. Some of the meats were extremely salty. Although some others were very nice too. Don't assume the small croquette shaped things have potato in.. haha nope.. smooshy warm plantain/banana in the middle was a surprise to our bland british eyes and pallet. Lovely cocktails 🍸

I went here on a Thursday for a birthday, and couldn't believe I had been before. The meat on offer was delicious, and the salad bar was all fresh. Much better than what's on offer at spoons, and a much more pleasant environment. Would highly recommend as a get together location for the 'lads'

Went on a Friday evening for a birthday celebration, 5 adults and 2 children. As most of us had been before, the format and procedure was known but it was explained again to us by the friendly staff. The food was good and a steady stream came of different meats as we kept the indicator green. Good banter with staff and made children laugh as well. Overall a good night by all and by the looks of it, other parties, at least two more birthdays going on, everyone joined in singing and clapping when it was announced it was someone's birthday. I only marked 4 stars as the salt content may not be to everyone's taste and toilets are a bit if a trip up stairs although there is one down stairs this is key only, for the disabled.

First time for my friends to visit the place and I am pleased that they enjoyed the food. The staff were extremely friendly. Reasonable price too.

They knew it was a birthday meal especially since my wife had cards on the table so I am sorry but leaving £144 lighter and with their attitude in mind we most definitely won’t be going back

Really enjoyed our time at Rios first time. Meat was beautiful, I don't usually like steak but really enjoyed the steak from here, lots of different types of meat, came out satisfied and a tummy full 😋

Very good service, manager kept on checking on us if we were fine. Great selection on meats. Our picky 4 year old daughter actually liked the salad bar, and ate aaalll her veggies . Surely recommend.

This was our first visit but won't be out last. There is something for everyone, Salas, chilli, pasta and lots of different meats. They also have a good selection of drinks and cocktails. All served but very friendly staff.

Went for a midweek meal. Great value for money, lovely food and great, friendly staff. Some of the steak was more well done than I would choose but they did cooked more that was rare for me. Will definitely go back when in Ipswich.

Me and my Girlfriend visited Rio’s last night after saying we would for months but not getting the chance. We were missing out for sure, food was 10/10 service was also very friendly. Great food and fantastic service. Table was ready when we arrived and no waiting around for food. The great thing about Rio's is the meat is delivered straight to the table as soon as you request it. If you like a certain meat then ask they are more then happy to bring it over for you. The parmasan pork is delicious

Fantastic food and great service as always Back again! We love it here, my husband and I are Keto so the food here is perfect! It's getting more expensive now the our eldest is a bit older so is now full price, we don't begrudge paying it though as she puts away as much maybe even more than us! Annie's favourite is the parmesan pork and when she told the waiter he made sure he came to her first!

Very nice evening. Loads of food, literally all you can eat, but you've got to be a meat eater as limited veggie options (basically salad). However, the salad bar is very nice, lots of choices, Healthy and very fresh.

The meats are all cooked perfectly. Turn the wooden block to red they don't serve anymore meat to your table turn it to green and they just keep coming with different meats non stop till you turn it back to red... If you are a meat lover you will not go wrong here..we will definitely be back

Really fantastic dining experience. A large buffet of salads and veg to choose from and a wide variety of delightful meats brought to the table. Drinks aren't cheap, but don't fill yourself up on them...enjoy the food!!

What a fabulous most heartwarming, welcoming fantastic place. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left nothing was too much. The food was excellent as was the service. I would highly recommend this gem of a place. We took our 6 month old and they were so welcoming towards him too. Honestly I can’t remember the last time we went to a place and felt this happy,as-well as full. Thank you. Will be back soon. NB. We had a one hour drive to get to this place.

Couldn't recommend Rios enough. The staff were welcoming right off the bat and were lovely to talk to, very engaging and helpful. Price was more than fair for both the good selection and fantastic quality of food. I absolutely would go again.

Not a restaurant, an eating experience! All you can eat of the most succulent and perfectly cooked meat. Gammon infused with parmesan, spiced chicken wrapped with bacon, marinated sirloin steak, chicken hearts (traditional Brazilian) and incredible cocktails. Our kids loved the theatre of watching the waiters strip the meat from their 'swords' so they could grab it with their personal pair of tongs. The non meat was also amazing. Full salad bar, fries, fried plantains and more. So much more. A special treat, but what a wonderful experience.

Great first visit. Took a while to get used to the dining style (with the traffic light type system) and was surprised how quiet they were on a Saturday night but they soon got pretty busy and kept up well with the increase in demand.

Went here and have not experienced anything like it. Order your drink, get your potato/rice/veg. Then turn your wooden block to show green and sit back. Server's come round with huge skewers of meat and slice the meat off onto your plate. If you need a break turn your block to red. Not the cheapest meal but worth it especially for meat lovers. Make sure you book in advance. Looking forward to next time

Myself and my husband had a very rare date night, we've been here once before and loved it then. Our second visit did NOT disappoint. The staff were really friendly, the salad bar was fresh and very enjoyable. The meat oh my goodness it was tender, flavourful and piping hot, the choices of meat were really good. We decided to share the warm chocolate fudge cake with ice cream and WOW! It was amazing! Rounded off the night beautifully. On recommendation (not a criticism) Would be to have some sort of sign/labels for the salad bar to know what the pasta dishes were, or to know what the cold potatoes in the oil (amazing by the way!) are. We will definitely be back in the near future.

This is certainly a place to visit if you like an abundance of meat!. Not what I call cheap but not overly expensive either especially as you can eat as much as you like for as long as you like. Some of the meats are unusually flavoured, not to my taste really, but there's plenty of choice so you won't starve for sure. They have a red)green system to stop the waiters coming to your table with meat so you can eat, take a break or just let good settle and you can revisit the salad bar. Make sure you have the black beans 🫘 and rice which are hidden in a ban marie. Overall experience was good, friendly and nothing to complain about (I didn't use the toilet, so can't report on this!)

7 of us visited Rio's for our son's 17th birthday. Our eldest son has been raving about it for some time and he wasn't wrong! From the minute we arrived and were seated at our table, toppled with spotlessly clean linen tablecloths and with attractively folded linen napkins, we felt welcomed and at home. Service was swift and friendly. There were some lovely drinks on the menu - two of us tried guava juice for the first time and loved it. We visited the salad bar which was plentifully stocked and then turned our wooden block to green. Immediately, staff began serving us the most delicious meat, huge variety and all beautifully seasoned and cooked. It was a fabulous experience. One member of staff having picked up it was a birthday, a chocolate fudge dessert came out with a candle and a rendition of Happy Birthday. We left feeling extremely full and happy. It was a wonderful night out and we will certainly be back.

Food ok but felt they pushed the cheaper cuts to us and only offered steak once all evening. Sad as it would have been so much better.

I haven't been to Rio's for a few years and returned on Wednesday evening. The service was impeccable and the food was beautifully cooked and as always just kept coming. I won't leave it so long to return next time 🤤🤤🤤

Absolutely bleeding shocking. The food was absolutely disgusting. Very poor value for money. The meat was salty and left a bad taste in the mouth. The waiting staff appeared to have a pour attitude an generally poor attitude. What sort of place has lasagna and overly salted meats under one roof/on one plate. Very strange experience. Won’t be returning in a hurry. Had to wash out our mouths with some good food.

I've been to Rios a couple of times, and every time I have enjoyed everything. The salad bar is packed with so much - lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, onions, coleslaw, potatoes, bread, cheese, gherkins, cous cous, and probably more that I've forgotten - and you can go load up your plate as many times as you want. And then the meat starts coming. So much variety and so many different flavours. We had chicken and bacon, lamb, gammon, garlic beef, rump steak, parmesan pork, bbq chicken wings, and Brazilian sausage. These things are brought to your table on a skewer, and carved onto your plate. You have a block - half painted red and half painted green. While the green side is up, the meat will keep coming. And if you need to take a breath, turn the block to red and the meat will stop. But don't worry, you won't miss out on anything. The meat delivery is continuous! I loved the gammon, and I was pleasantly surprised by the lamb as I don't normally eat that, but it was delicious. I also loved the garlic steak and parmesan pork. The flavours were amazing, and the men serving the meat were very generous with their portions. It's a bit too pricy to go regularly, but for a special occasion this is a wonderful restaurant.

Wow, first time we’ve visited this place considering it’s been around for 12 years and I think I’ve found my favourite place to eat in Ipswich. The food was fantastic. A wide range and choice of buffet style hot and cold home Cooked traditional foods and the meat was nothing but exceptional. On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly staff member who showed us to our seat and got our drinks sorted first thing. No fuss, no waiting and to the point. He recommended a traditional Brazilian beer which was delicious. Once we were settled we were able to Collect out plates and chose the food we wanted as our side and then the meat just kept coming. Perfectly cooked and tender meats of all types were constantly brought to our table. Ranging from topside of beef to bbq lambs leg, chilli chicken and even bbq chicken hearts. All cooked to perfection on the visible rotisserie in the main restaurant area. Very reasonably priced and drink very affordable too. Perfectly seasoned meats and bursting with flavour. Especially the Brazilian sausages and chicken croquettes. The place was very well presented and the toilets exceptionally clean and well maintained. I can’t wait to go back and show friends this amazing place. 10 out of 10 Well done and keep up the good work.

staff nice and welcoming, but food not good my friend was sick afterwards strange , was good years ago but after covid now not so good, way too salty meats, I complained and woman told me to ask for no so much salt next time , I think a lame excuse, she told me Brazilian meats are salty , was not that salty before , wine expensive as well and only sold by the bottle so beware and was not great either , a shame

Incredibly tasty food cooked extremely well. The meat was deliciously juicy and that was across the entire range of meats that the staff bought round to our table. The meat is also good quality and not the cheap rubbish I have had at other places. There were very friendly and also humerous staff whilst bringing the food around. Definitely will come again to get the extreme meat sweats that I had last time from eating far more than I should! Worth every single sweat after consuming the amount of meat that I did. You definitely get your moneys worth here if you have a good appetite and the selctions of drinks and imported beer is great!
