Bloom Lounge in Ipswich

Went there last night. Nearly empty when we walked in to have a few cocktails. The first 2-3 were good, but another 2 mojitos without sugar-extremely bitter. When I asked to get sugar in the next ones, it was too sweet. By 11 pm, we have been asked to pay the entrance fee of £20 each. This was on the top of spending over £200 on the cocktails. The owner prefers having youngsters pay for one or two drinks for all night rather than full paying customers. Absolute disgrace!!! We took our custom to different bar, the Distilled Republic, with the drinks half price, better music, and friendly service. I would avoid The Bloom Lounge, waste of money, and not appreciation of valued customers.

The best bottomless brunch I've ever had! Fantastic choice of drinks, amazingly attentive staff. My glass was never empty. Awesome DJ playing amazing tunes. Highly recommended.

This establishment has had a flurry of social media “influencer” activity because it makes for a good Instagram photo, but the actual food and the overall dining experience is very disappointing. It’s like someone gave a ten-year-old girl $50k and told her to create a restaurant and she spent it all on fake flowers and cheap chandeliers and didn’t have enough for adequate wait and kitchen staff. The food is woefully overpriced, e.g., $15 for two slices of basic French toast (and mine were undercooked). No sides. No bells and whistles. Just two slices of soggy bread. They charged $6 for three pieces of bacon and $6 for a handful of “wild” mushrooms (they weren’t wild mushrooms, they were run-of-the-mill mushrooms like you’d find at Walmart). They don’t have a coffee maker. Seriously. They’re a brunch establishment, but they only have a cappuccino machine, which allows them to charge higher prices without free refills. Check out the other Google and Yelp reviews and you’ll find the same recurring themes: slow waitstaff, ridiculous prices for bland, average food, and cramped seating. Put all of those together with their social media influencer blitz and you have the recipe for a fly-by-night establishment trying to grab as many one-time customers as possible before they have to close their doors when their reputation catches up with them. p.s. They’ll block you on their FB page if you give them a negative review. And be leery of the five-star reviews — if they award five stars and say something like “The food was amazing!” or “Best in the city!” and nothing else, it’s a telltale sign of a click-farm / paid reviews. And if the review is accompanied by flashy, highly edited photos, there’s a good chance it’s a paid influencer.

Bottomless Brunch cocktails and a meal for 4, Amazing and we've been to alot!!! Everything was 1st class from atmosphere cleanliness food cocktails and staff. Highly recommend.

We went here for a girlie birthday celebration and hadn’t been before but the reviews looked quite good so thought we would give it a go. It was basically a crèche on crack!!! The music was more typical of a night club with a dj you couldn’t understand although I think he might have been saying the buffet was open (Peter Kay fans will understand this). In our 2-hour slot it took 25 mins to get our first drink, our food came out in dribs and drabs, two meals missed altogether and came out after the rest had finished. An hour in, still only had one drink so had a word with the manager who provided 3 free bottles of Prosecco the contents of which would have stripped paint!!! They did get us a few more drinks to make up for the lack at the start but this is one experience I will not be repeating. Also very expensive……all other bottomless brunches I have been on have been £25-30 including one choice off the food menu. This was £25 PLUS the food. I had the bannoffee waffle which was two waffles with a bit of condensed milk, a bit of banana and 5 squirts of squirty cream for the princely sun of £11!!! Not good value for money. Avoid unless you like to leave a venue with bleeding ears!!!

Went for brunch with the girls. The food was amazing as good as it looked, nice drinks, great service will definitely be back.

Very loud place which is just basically a room decorated with plastic flowers. Honestly it just reverberates the screaming sounds of the thirsty middle aged women twerking on the other side of the room. Very odd and uncomfortable atmosphere

Was quite busy when we arrived for drinks around 10.30pm. Bar staff were great, the lady server was chatty, friendly and service was swift. Toilets were very clean and stocked. Great selection of drinks. Initially music was good, but it started to empty out and unfortunately the DJ thought he was playing just for himself! We made a couple of request (and we were the only ones dancing) he said no and that he had “played a few of what we wanted already” but he literally put 1 song on!! Door staff very happy and relaxed. Overall, good for a couple of drinks but DJ let it down

Private hire for an engagement party: Wow! What a night we had💗 When looking for venues to host our engagement party, The Bloom Lounge really stood out! From first enquiry, to the decor, to the helpful staff we knew we wanted to hold it here. In the run up to the event, it was always easy to contact them and ask any queries, nothing was too much of a problem. On the day we were able to drop off some balloons earlier to the venue and on arrival to set up in the evening staff were kind, helpful and welcoming. Once the party started, the staff were so attentive to all our needs, whether it be on the bar or the music, and all our guests commented on how welcomed they felt. We had a pizza buffet and this was delicious, it was kindly laid out and kept topped up throughout the evening. Once the party sadly come to an end, we were able to leave everything overnight and collect the next morning , which again staff had kindly gathered it all together ready for pick up. Thank you so much Bloom Lounge for the perfect night to celebrate our special occasion!🌸

Great 40th birthday bottomless brunch. Joshua made things easy to book, needed to pay a deposit but this was easy to do online. They were very accommodating. Food and drink were fab. We were well looked after. I was given a free birthday shot and they let us bring our own birthday cake. I’d highly recommend this place for a bottomless brunch or a special occasion.

Took my sister for her 50th birthday. We had the best experience, the staff were lovely, the food was amazing, the atmosphere was great and the drinks flowed. Would highly recommend and well worth the money. If you haven’t been then you need to go. We didn’t have to wait too long for our food either. We had nothing to complain about and it was really busy. I feel a couple of the reviews I have read are not justified. The staff were not rude what so ever. But when my daughter went a couple of weeks ago she said there was a foreign guy working there that was rather rude (not discriminating) that’s a shame as we didn’t have this problem. We had a lovely time

We went to celebrate my sister in laws 40th and had the most amazing time. The bottomless brunch was well worth it. Food was great and the drinks just kept coming . Brunch here did not live up to expectations. The eggs florentine was really delicious with a great addition of mushrooms. The biscoff waffles were fairly nice too. Unfortunately the dishes took an hour to come out even though the place was otherwise empty. The waffles were supposed to be french toast and the matcha latte was so strong that it was undrinkable. The aesthetic of the place is interesting. I could see how it would fit well on a busy night, but on an empty morning the plastic flowers look somewhat sparse and the bare corners are more obvious. The bottomless brunch probably helps with this too...

Really nice food and not too expensive. Staff very friendly and helpful. But took a long time for food to come out of the kitchen when it didn't seem that busy. Would eat there again, but only when I've got time to wait.

We had an excellent evening out, I met a group of incredibly welcoming and friendly people in a very relaxed atmosphere. The staff went above and beyond to cater for everyone's needs with regards to food menu's, they also ensured we were okay throughout the evening. The lighting was an array of beautiful rainbow colours, changing one at a time, creating a stunning and peaceful atmosphere. Thank you, Joshua, for making my friend's 50th birthday truly one to cherish and remember for a lifetime. We are looking forward to coming back soon!

What a disappointment! I'd been looking forward to trying out the bloom lounge, but food turned up cold and my friends order was forgotten about completely. The manager was miserable and everything seemed so hard for him even though it wasn't busy. Seemed to have a problem with women in general which is unlucky for him as 98% of people there were female. I think this place will be dead and gone by next Oct

I was invited by a friend, out for the evening, to celebrate her 50th birthday. There was a group of us and we had full use of the venue booked out to us. An extremely pleasant evening was had by all and we couldn't fault the service. Food was awesome and drinks went down rather well. Thank you Joshua, for making Angela's birthday one to remember for many years to come.

Would avoid at all costs. Staff SO RUDE! No customer service at all. Waiter argued with me most of the night, surprised he is employed at all. Manager was no better. Waiter threw my birthday cake at me! Never known anything like it.

Awful service. Lovely food but after arriving at 1.40pm we didn’t get our food until 3.30pm. The waiter said that the kitchen had to turn around from brunch to evening menu as we wanted some food from the evening menu. It stated on the menu that this started at 2pm so we were fine waiting 20 mins didn’t expect it to be nearly two hours. Didn’t really get an apology and then was offered a shot on the house although he knew we were all driving. Would not recommend, will not return. A shame because when the food did come it was nice and the cocktail was delicious too. (Hence the extra star) Think they rely on customers getting drunk with the bottomless and not realising how long you’re waiting.

Great cocktails and lovely food. All staff lovely and such a welcoming environment. A good find as not in main part of town centre, but glad we went in and gave it a try. Will go back again for sure!

I’ve been going to the bloom lounge since it opened. the atmosphere, drinks & food are incredible not only that but the staff has always gone above and beyond. I held my daughters christening after party at the bloom lounge and they were super welcoming to the whole family including the little ones we had such a great time , the staff really made the effort to join us as well which usually in most places staff serve you and that it. I couldn’t recommend the bloom lounge enough to whether it’s for dinner, Saturday night drinks or even brunch on a Sunday definitely a go to!

Went for brunch. Its a big room decorated with lots of fake flowers and loud music. For additional £25 you can have bottomless drinks from a specific selection. I just had a couple cocktails instead, they were delicious. My lunch was the king oyster mushrooms, but it was basically a lump of stodgy, sticky rice, with 3 pieces of mushroom leaned up against it and what looked like some miniature purple clover leaves plonked on top. It was quite tasty though. Its not easy to get any idea of what it is you're ordering from the menu description. However, the staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Would I go back? Maybe, but I would like to try brunches elsewhere first.

We called in on Thursday 26 May to have a light lunch and we very pleased with the friendly, spotless lounge. We chose the brunch menu and both opted for the char Sui pork belly with eggs Benedict on toasted muffins. We were both really happy with this choice, and we would definitely recommend it. Very worth a try.

Honestly the best food I’ve ever had at a bottomless brunch. Anida did absolutely amazing, we all ordered the chicken waffles and they did not disappoint, only issue is we couldn’t eat it all. Really generous on the Prosecco too. Can’t thank you enough for making our day so special x

Best bottomless brunch around. The food was actually amazing which doesn't always happen with a bottomless brunch, normally the drinks are central to the experience and the food is meh BUT here both were fab!! Compliments to the chef Anida who helped to make this experience so lovely

Went here for lunch ,food was cold and not nice considering we where the only couple In there . The manager kept going out to then come back in with cans of red bull that he sat in the restaurant drinking ! Also suite and white trainers ? Not a good look. I won't be going back in a hurry . Worse food I've had in ages

Went here with 3 other friend for bottomless brunch. One of the party visits regularly and reported mixed experiences. The food was nice. For the bottomless brunch you pay for food on top of your brunch drinks at a set price. Service was very slow unfortunately. I’m not sure I’d necessarily return as I think there are other places that are as good with better service.

There was a very poor selection of bottled beers, so two of us ordered rum and cokes. The barman asked if we wanted to make them doubles. The third drink was a bottle of beer. The barman then asked for £34. The person paying queried this, and was again told it was £34. He handed over four £10 notes for three drinks! Somewhat fortunately the barman gave a receipt with the change which showed £27 for three doubles and £2 for two mixers. This was raised with the bar staff, who apologised and refunded the "accidental" extra drink. This may have been a mistake, although I somewhat doubt it, and if we had paid by card it is possible we wouldn't have noticed. Surely the barman must have known that £34 for three basic drinks was not right when he said it and repeated it. More likely is that he thought three drunk punters wouldn't notice. On top of this, the actual cost of a double rum and coke is £10, which is ridiculous, unless your in some swanky hotel or posh bar in London. We sat down to drink our overpriced rums. We drank quickly because it was pretty boring in there, (there were only about 10 people in there, and about 10 staff). As soon as the first empty glass hit the table, somebody came over to ask if we wanted another round - ie "if you're not drinking get out". We left shortly afterwards. Not a good experience and we will not be returning.

I wanted to mention a few things regarding my recent visit to your restaurant. So myself, my partner, my sister-in law and her husband all visited your premises on Saturday night (12 March 2022).We had escape rooms booked at 4.30pm and googled restaurants nearby that we could eat at afterwards. The Bloom Lounge came highly recommended on google, so my sister in-law contacted yourselves to book a table for 4 at 6.30pm. We were warmly greeted and shown to our table by a new waiter (think his name was Chris?!), we asked to move tables as the table was very small for 4 people and the request was accommodated. At this stage, we were all excited, the service had been great and we were all very hungry. Our drinks order was taken along with the food order, this was done swiftly and professionally – despite the waiter coming over and advising you had no Sushi available (which appears to be the main seller at your restaurant). To be out of Sushi on a Saturday night at 6.30pm was rather strange if it was indeed your main seller!? The drinks were brought over (2 Passionfruit Dakari's, 1 Expresso Martini and 1 Mocktail) – 2 of which were sadly spilt by the waiter. At no point did anyone offer to get us a new drink, despite losing a little bit of the cocktail and it left the stem of 2 of the cocktail glasses really sticky. The waiter simply got a napkin and ‘mopped up’ the spillage on the table. Later on in the evening, the waitress came over and attempted to collect two of the cocktail glasses even proceeding to put these on her tray thinking they were finished, when indeed we still had at least a mouthful of cocktail in each glass. The waitress did apologize when confronted and handed the glasses back to us for us to finish the cocktail and then proceeded to take the glasses away. In respect of food, we ordered 4 X Bloom Steak Burgers (which were nice, but very small) , 2 X Spicy Fries & 2 x Halloumi Fries (which were lovely) and then we ordered 3 small pates for the table for £18 – The prawns, duck and salmon. I have to be honest we were all in shock with the quantity and quality of the small plates for £18. We were given 3 prawns for a table of 4 , 3 pieces of duck on a table of 4 and a small amount of salmon. We were left feeling extremely disappointed. We settled the bill of just over £100 for 4 Cocktails, 4 tiny burgers with a portion of fries each and the small plates which were extremely disappointing. To top the evening off, the waitress struggled to clear the table due to her long nails, leaving my partner worried she would end up with a lapful of plates. Lovely venue, but the food is over priced and under delivered.

The restaurant is this weird basic Instagram white girl aesthetic, faux bougie, plastered with tacky marble effect, rose gold, and fake flowers and trees... Which is fine if that's what you're into. Personally, I feel like it's a bit naff but I'm sure it'll look good in Tiffany's insta feed with a filter or two. Unfortunately the food was quite frankly lacklustre. I had the French toast but with chicken and bacon to top instead. The French toast was about as French as a Ford Mustang, was limp, soggy and bland. And if it wasn't for the chicken it may as well have been a veggie dish seeing as the bacon was almost non existent. And even the chicken was just not good, being chewy, hard to cut through, and the coating slid off like a runny nose. Regarding the staff, It's also worth noting that when you clean the rim of a coffee cup for a customer, it's best to do it with a cloth instead of your thumb, especially after watching the server walk around and at no point sanitise or wash his hands. Another point to mention is that trainers with a suit just looks a bit... Unprofessional. A shame, as the server was polite and welcoming and did everything in a friendly manner.

We booked ahead for afternoon tea for a group of friends. Service was slow, we waited ages to even be offered a pot of tea. Sandwich fillings weren't good, scones dry. No savouries. Very strange filling in a choux bun. One of the cakes was nice. At £25 it was very poor value. Surroundings are lovely. Other food and drinks may be nice but o don't recommend afternoon tea.

Been there twice, it was okay. I liked the food and cocktails, however the coffee wasn't the best - very watery and too hot (probably boiled milk) flat white. Staff were polite

Been for first time with my family on the evening for a coffee. Wasn't anyone there was empty. We have meet a gentleman, really impertinent! Coffe was nice , service was ok , the stuff who serve us the coffee ☕ ( a gentleman) Wasn't...He makes us feel like we have to run drinking our coffee , going up and down,looking to us, looking to the window, like this all our stay , wich wasn't long for the circumstances. If he wasn't busy he must Wipe that menus , they was so sticky and u can see marks on it. Instead of walking around without sense. Honestly, not very nice experience for THE FIRT TIME, I do not recommend going there just for a chill with family. Even when it is empty.

We were in Ipswich for a bicycle race. I wasn't too impressed with the food in England. Except for here. We found the Bloom Lounge just walking on the street. You must not miss it, simply for the decor. Mid-Century pink and green, and lavishly decorated with a wall of roses, roses surrounding the bar, and the most esthetic Christmas tree ever. We stopped in, not hungry, but cold and a bit wet, and just had some wonderful green tea in the perfect teapot, and lovely rose wine in the perfect glass. We shared a small plate of a fusion Banh Mi sandwich. We returned a couple of days later for brunch. I had wonderful eggs with salmon and caviar, and my husband had the most refined chicken and waffles. The same waiter served us, and he was warm, helpful, and fun. I have photos but don't see where to upload them. Too bad.

Loved coming for lunch today with a friend and her little boy. It was quiet but it was a wet and cold Wednesday afternoon so not surprised. The atmosphere and staff were really lovely and made us feel welcome and the food was awesome. All reasonably priced too (food plus three drinks for myself all under £20!) The decor is amazing and I can totally see why it does well as a bar in the evening but it was such a lovely place to stop for brunch too so would definitely recommend!

My wife and I popped in after dinner. From the door staff to the bar staff, everyone was very friendly and attentive. There was a mix of age groups from the 20-somethings to the post-40s. The cocktails they made were outstanding. My wife had the Strawberry Daiquiri, followed by the Espresso Martini - which she said was the best she's ever tasted. I was recommended the St. Kitts mocktail, a great drink for those driving. The cocktails are reasonably priced at around £9 each and the mocktails are about £5 each. We'll definitely be returning.

Very nice setting in Ipswich and chilled bar. No drama and good fun. Suprisingly the food was great too! Couldn't complain and staff was very friendly.

Lovely food and amazing cocktails. The only thing i would say is that the menus hadnt been wiped down and had alcohol on them. We kept having to call the staff over for another drink and wernt very observant. They were very nice and friendly but i just think that the hygiene could have been better and the staff could have been more observant.

It's amazing that there is a now a place that you can go to, enjoy great service and drinks and time with friends. By making the drinks a bit more expensive, they have stopped the place being rammed and uncomfortable, allowing friends to enjoy a relaxed and fun evening. Thank you Bloom Lounge
