Rim Jhim Spice Indian Restaurant in Colchester

I couldn’t stop myself sharing this review as we had the food from here for the first time and it was truly amazing. Especially the people who were serving was totally awesome make us feel special. I must say best Indian food in Colchester so far. I have tried others as well but never had such authentic flavours. So, definitely recommended 😊👍

If you want an Indian in Colchester, look no further. The food and staff were outstanding.

Paid £70 just to get the worst stomach ever! Waited over an hour for the food and 20 minutes for them to bring the drinks over. Korma tasted okay but left me fighting more my life on the toilet. Misses had a chicken madras and it was the most bland madras she's had that lacked any flavour. Servers are about as useful as a chocolate teapot, constantly bumping into you, slow and make no sense when they're talking to you. They had customers coming in for collect orders who had been waiting for 2 over 2 hours. You honestly couldn't pay me to go back to this place.

My first time at a curry house and we were welcome with open arms. What a lovely special evening it was, the service and food was spectacular. Thank you so much, we will definitely be coming back. Happy new year xxx

Food was nice, a bit oily for my taste but overall very good. We were 4 and they gave us a table in which we barely fit. I would have liked to have more space to eat more comfortable. Service was amazing. They don't have any kind of lassi which I found it weird. Drinks menu is mainly focused in alcohol.

This is our favourite place to have an Indian meal. The all you can eat on Sunday is brilliant. Lots of variety, including lamb, chicken and vegetable curries and lots of sides. Very reasonable and friendly service too.

I can’t decide if it’s a good or a bad thing living 25 meters from the best Indian in Colchester. Taken over from yak and yeti as our favourite. Delicious food and great service. Cheers

The best Indian restaurant in Essex! The staff are incredibly friendly and approachable, always ready to assist with a smile. Unsure of what to order, I asked for recommendations, and the waiter was more than happy to guide me through the menu. Their suggestions did not disappoint—the food was absolutely fantastic! I highly recommend this gem of a restaurant for an unforgettable dining experience.

My partner and I are both vegan and often have Indian food as it caters for vegan options. We went into the restaurant directly and the owner spoke directly to us about all of the food we could have (and cooked it specially to make sure it was vegan). The food was delicious! We highly recommend for anyone who is vegan and wants great Indian food. I recommend going in as then you can discuss directly with the staff!

First time visiting, tried the Sunday Buffet. It was delicious, a good choice of dishes, easy going atmosphere. Friendly staff. We left with full bellies and very satisfied- will definitely be back!

I've visiting here for over 15 years and will keep coming for another 15 years. The Zara chicken (paired with coconut rice) never fails and cannot be beaten, i have tested many curry houses to try :) Fantastic service with a warm atmosphere. Always my recommendation for best curry house in Colchester.

Firstly, we booked online a table for 14 people then didn't hear back any confirmation so I emailed a day later and didn't get a reply back to that either (I should have looked elsewhere at this point), however I called them up and they found the booking and confirmed. On the day they called an hour before arriving to check our party of 14 were coming. Upon arrival we we shown to 3 separate tables with the best part of a metre between. THIS NOT WHAT WE BOOKED. It made it impossible for the tables at each end to have any interaction and conversation with the other people in the group. When I spoke to the waiter he made it clear that we couldn't pull the tables together. No apoligy for their blunder, I would not visit again.

All in all, I can highly recommend the restaurant. The food was authentic and delicious. It was immediately recognized that my glass had a small stain and replaced immediately. In any case, the waiters were very attentive and accommodating. I would rate the price-performance ratio as good to very good.

Amazing staff! So friendly and you can really feel the family vibe in the restaurant! The food is always 10/10, I suffer with allergies so find it so reassuring that the staff are all aware and able to confidently serve me ☺️

I had heard good things and was not disappointed! What a wonderful dining experience. Such hospitality is rare these days but the team made it a truly special experience! The Jalfrezi was fragrant, Jaipur Lamb melted in the mouth and one of the party who likes it hot said this was the hottest Phall he had ever tried and he loved every mouthful! The evening was finished off with complimentary brandy... stunning! Will definitely be back. Thank you to all the staff!!

Been a couple of times and each time all dishes served in the restaurant have been excellent. The staff are really nice and friendly. My only concern is the cost, but you can make up your own mind by looking at the menu

Absolutely disgusting service. We spend £122 and never received our order. When calling, we got hung up on twice and told they would be out of pocket. We never got our food and now are out of pocket. Wouldn’t recommend and won’t give up until we get our money back. Terrible company.
