Very deserving of a good review. Best Indian in colchester. Every dish was very good, staff very friendly and make a real effort with the kids.

Went here for our wedding anniversary. Fantastic food, friendly staff and also wonderful atmosphere. We were given complimentary drinks at the end of the meal, not because it was our anniversary, it’s something they just do here. We did however have an extra dessert with a candle in it to say than you for choosing them to celebrate our anniversary. Loved it, would definitely go back and highly recommend.

The service was attentive, but not intrusive. . Food was one of the best Indians we have had. It was so tasty. Great portion sizes. Not the cheapest but for great quality food you have to pay a justified price. Cannot wait to return in the very near future

We had a delightful experience at Rim Jhim Spice during our first visit with my vegetarian wife and two of our kids. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming ambiance.The menu had an extensive range of vegetarian options, which was perfect for my wife. She particularly loved the dish recommended by the owner which wasn't on the menu, which was bursting with rich flavors and perfectly cooked. My kids couldn't get enough of the buttery, soft Naan and the delicious lamb and chicken tikka, which had just the right amount of spice for their young palates.The service was impeccable; our server was attentive and knowledgeable, making excellent recommendations that catered to our dietary preferences. The food arrived promptly, and each dish was presented beautifully, making the meal a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds.The restaurant also provided a cozy, family-friendly environment. The staff went out of their way to ensure our kids were comfortable, offering kid-friendly menu. It was clear that they valued their younger guests as much as the adults.Overall, Rim Jhim restaurant, exceeded our expectations in every way. The combination of delicious vegetarian cuisine, exceptional service, and a warm atmosphere made it a memorable dining experience for our family. We look forward to returning soon!

Amazing, so welcoming and lovely food

I absolutely love the Rim Jhim. This was my local go to Indian Restaurant when I lived in Stanway. I have never come across another chicken tikka madras that's as good as this place since relocating.

Me and my mum had a fantastic meal at Rim Jhim this evening. Being Bangladeshi's ourselves, the food went completely above our expectations! I would highly recommend this restaurant. The service was on point from the second we entered to leaving. All the staff were fantastic.

the tikka masala was decent, but i bought rogan josh and chicken korai as my other two dishes and they were completely indistinguishable from each other, and also bland. they also forgot the naan, and even though it was delivered eventually i'd already eaten everything and there was no reimbursement. the naan was also bland, predictably. personally, i cannot understand the very high level of 5-star reviews. this tasted like very average buffet food to me. there are far, far better places out there

We went here 6 months ago shortly after they won an award and it was excellent. On return now it was completely different. I can only think the chef has left as the food was totally different to the point that previously it was one of best curry’s I’ve had to today where it was one of the worst. Really disappointing.

Came here on a Saturday early evening. Surprisingly plenty of tables available but had booked in advance. The food here is fantastic. Traditional Bengali cuisine and menu with very high standards. Service is quick and efficient if a little bit uniform as opposed to charming. Prices are ok. It’s rather unassuming from the outside but very typical inside. A place I think most people will revisit as it’s clearly maintaining quality of food.

What a great place. 5 of us when for a curry. My first time there and not the last.the food was amazing,tasty and hot. The staff were first class especially the man that owns it. After dinner he brought us over brandy and white rum. Check this place out you won’t be disappointed.

Had wanted to visit here for some time after hearing about their voting as best restaurant of the year and recommendations from friends. It did not disappoint! The food was delicious, staff were so friendly and attentive and to top it all off very reasonably priced. I was very impressed and will be making sure to go back soon.

Typical Brit-Indian restaurant. Might not work for you if you're looking for a home like Indian food. But If you know what and how to order, it's really good. Staff were friendly and made us feel welcomed. Gets busy in the evenings. Fairly priced, good enough portion sizes.

Absolutely fantastic food and service from Rimjhim, we will not go anywhere else for our Indian food. Excellent to eat in or take away but you do have to collect yourself as they do not offer a delivery service which I think is absolutely fine. I would highly recommend a visit.

Visited on a very busy Friday evening, so service could have been better. We arrived a bit early, but still got seated straight away. The food was excellent. Recommended.

A delightful and genuine Indian Restaurant experience from arrival to departure. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and attentive to details across all levels. The staff did everything possible to ensure our experience was spot on. The portions sizes were really generous for the price point and you could easily share a main dish between two persons, with side dishes to accompany them. A comprehensive drinks menu, with plenty of choice for those who like an alcoholic tipple and those who cant/don't. A nice touch after the meal was the traditional hot towels and something I've not experienced before, warm brandy for the Gents and a Baby Guinness for the Ladies, which was complimentary and not charged for. They accommodate large groups well, with all food arriving piping hot and fresh to order, even during a busy service. You must try this restaurant, you will not be disappointed.

Would give 3.5 stars went for the Sunday buffet, food was fairly nice but not a big selection. Really lovely staff but just felt the atmosphere was a bit quiet think they could do with more music as it turned off a fair few times. Chicken Tikka was delicious

Last minute booking due to another Indian being shut, but it was well worth it. Top food highly recommend I probably wouldn’t go anywhere else in Colchester for an Indian now.

Absolutely outstanding Indian restaurant! Staff were friendly and swift to come over to our table. Best Indian that my partner and I have ever eaten. The food is incredible! We would 100% recommend this restaurant to families, couples or groups of friends! This will be our go to Indian restaurant from now on. The food is not greasy, arrived hot and was delicious! We had left overs which we were given tubs to pack up and take home. The food is priced extremely well, especially for the portions you receive and the taste!

This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend but it certainly exceeded expectations! The food was amazing. The restaurant itself hasn't got a lot of tables but it's very well decorated and cozy. Really enjoyed every dish and will certainly come back again and again! The staff are also excellent and the post meal treat by the restaurant was quite surprising but welcomed! Definitely would recommend!

I went today on recommendation from a friend. I have to say this is possibly the best indian food i have ever had. The whole experience was worth the visit and money. The service was friendly and warm. The food great. I will certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone.
